Had a great night at the Kingfisher

Had a roast dinner....well cooked, loads of it and reasonably priced....

I dont think they serve food. Only your typical Crisps nuts and sausage rolls.Bur if you book a buffet the food is lovely and plentiful.

I went in to purchase event tickers quick fast service to get them good place for locals

Just had a sunday lunch and was lovely! Staff and proprieters are very accomodating😊

Never again. The drinks are not overly expensive but that is the only good thing I have to say. The hearing is not on so it was freezing. I had to keep my jumper and jacket on and I was still cold. They started a fire that was being “cared for” by the patrons this lead to that the inside of the pub was more smoke infested than the smoking area. I came home smelling like I made out with the fire. My lounges as so filled with smoke I ended up coughing throughout the night. When I went out for a walk the air was so filled with pot I think I “enjoyed” a contact high. There was smoking inside the pub which isn’t pleasant. Especially with the wood smoke. I think you should hire a cleaner. It is so filthy .. so insanely filthy. No one in thei pr right mind would eat here. I darent think how the kitchen. Looks if they can’t even clean the floors. edit: seams like I was wrong about the vapes. I do apologise. And also, being a vaper it’s nice to see a pub that allows it. It was on Tuesday this week. It was mentioned that it was cold several times by people in my party (not me) and the response was “nothing we can do” The pot smoke was outside so not really anything the staff could do since they didn’t see it being behind the bae. But maybe get someone in to sweep your chimney. Apparently it was equally bad Wednesday (I have a work friend that plays crib (a card game) they were also freezing and their night was finished with a bar fight.

I'm not a drinker, but I met a good bunch of friendly people , music Friday,s other events can be found on website, nice garden ,children welcome.

Lovely Sunday roast, generous helpings and great value! Very friendly staff, thank you for a nice lunch!

Never had a pint which was 100% foam but they did pull it off. Thoroughly impressed tbh. Stole 15 sandwich slices

All members of staff are very welcoming lovely family run pub wouldn’t go anywhere else, penalty of Entertainment on weekends Sunday dinners are lovely and worth the money same as the food during the week. Great Atmosphere and always someone to talk to.

MJSoul was a good night's soul music from the soul era. Just a shame the place wasn't packed to the rafters. But everyone there was treated to a good night's music and enjoyed it judging by how many stayed until the very end. Not enough of these nights in and around our town.

Went here to watch some football. Don’t expect fancy shmancy at all. In fact, go with low expectations and you will be fine.

I frequently visit this lovely little estate pub, it has a laid back calm atmosphere and both staff and customers are amazingly friendly. It has recently changed hands and already I am seeing some great improvements. The new landlady seems very passionate and I've already booked the venue for 2 upcoming family parties as the events room is huge and has its own bar. There is also 2 other bars 1 with a darts board and Sky TV, the other an open fireplace in winter with a darts board and Sky TV and there is a lovely patio area to the rear with some seating sheltered. And you never have to worry about parking with a huge car park behind it. Absolutely recommended this place whatever your reason for visiting. Defo my fave pub 🥰

Pretty old fashioned pub. Homely feel to the place. I was there for a kids party in the back room which was freezing cold and they had forgot the party was booked so nothing was laid out. The kids had a good time so I suppose that is something!

Second year we hired out for a family xmas party. Great space food was ok and everyone had fun

The new management has turned this place around. Definitely feeling more like a pub than it used to!

Beers are a bit cheaper than they used to be, but still the same great atmosphere, music and pub games.

Parked here for the ed Sheeran concert. It was easy to park. Drinks were a very reasonable price and the staff were fab.

Great place to be, atmosphere is always warm and friendly for all the family. The children's parties are always worth the ticket price, the children love them! gifts, sweets, music, food and even a visit from Queen Elsa. Best thing the new lower prices and deal on drinks make an already good, fun day/evening into a great one. Saturday nights there is always some form of entertainment and karoke is always worth a look. The beer garden is big enough for adults to relax and for the children to blow off steam. Thank you Penny and Dwayne for providing such a great service to the community xx

Very disappointed hall was not ready as arranged with manager no bar staff had to ask for cups for coffee mugs then arrived chipped and dirty no plates for the buffet they had to send someone to buy some no serviettes fans not on when temps were 28 degrees dirty glasses a complete shambles I would not recommend them to anyone

Book the Kingfisher for my dads surprise 60th. Penny the landlady is so lovely, very warm, welcoming, an attended to every need. We got everything an more. The DJ, food, hire an service. Very impressed, all had a fantastic time..

Consumed a delicious roast dinner. I was part of a large group and the food was delivered promptly and altogether, not an easy task considering the numbers. I would recommend the food and have no hesitation in in eating here again.

Just No. (edit) The owner asked for more info as to why. I wasn't going to bother but feel you should know as they insisted. Whilst I was there I witnessed 2 drug dealers, 1 it's unfortunate to say I know and he was dealing from the pub. The location of the pub is in probably 1 of the worst areas in Ipswich. If I'm honest if you want a nice place to drink and eat then go to The Belstead Arms.

Excellent local pub made by penny and staff with the limited help from actual landlords as seem to be spent elsewher shame not left to run herself. The day any of these guys go is the day i find another pub to drink in. These guys make the kingfisher not the landlords .

Worst pub in Suffolk, staff are rude and if you are not local can be very intimating

Newly refurbished, new management, welcoming and friendly staff, warm atmosphere, has sports bar with pool table, and main area to relax in, and outside seating area. Great size function room ideal for any kind of party, had lots of fun in this pub! Highly recommend!!

Please do not believe the reviews previously! This is a very friendly pub with lots going on. 2 great sized function rooms with a garden and covered area. In the summer, there's a bouncy castle ( at no extra cost), children are welcome in the garden room. I know the kingfisher in past years has had a bad reputation but believe me... I would not go in there if I didn't feel safe or welcome.

It is a fantastic brilliant pub lots of giggles so my dad says anyway he's always there so it must be good

Bad staff, bad atmosphere,get rid!!

Whoever described this a family friendly pub could only be part of the manson family, as that's about the only family that would feel welcome here. The landlady (and I use the term lady, very loosely), Julie, believes that she needs to constantly prove how tough she is rather than just focussing on serving her customers. We didn't stay very long, didn't finish our drinks as not only was the beer awful but we both felt very uncomfortable having our children in such a place. If you want to fight, then this is the place to come!!!
