The King Haakon Bar in Highland

Came here in the Winter, quiet but good atmosphere. Food was alright. Pizzas are massive so prepare for leftovers or share with someone. Good prices.

Disappointed and annoyed that having arrived late afternoon from Inverness, after checking into my accommodation, tired and hungry, I Googled restaurants open this evening for dinner, within 15 minute walking distance from my accommodation. This venue came up and so did its adjoining restaurant with a different name. Open until 11pm is advertised on both sites. On walking there, I was told the restaurant was closed for the winter and only the bar, no meals, was open. I was really annoyed that the owner couldn't be bothered to update the google opening hours for winter, as it completely wasted 30-40 minutes of my time.

Glad to know they're open in winter, though seating is somewhat limited. Had a pizza here. The cheese on that pizza.. Italian chefs whisper to each other after closing time of such things, of the customer who had spaghetti Bolognese and when it came time for them to say 'when' as they were grating the cheese over their dish, nothing was said for an hour and a half. It was a monstrous creation, a pizza borne of malice and hatred and a desire to consume all in an endless advance of melted dairy. Twas the last gasp of the great cheesemongers of auld. Perfection

I enjoyed the pan fried chicken breast tonight, absolutely delicious. My husband had the fried chicken burger, he enjoyed that too. The fries are excellent and the coleslaw is tasty (of course I stole a couple of fries and a mouthful of slaw!) Loads of beers on tap, snooker table too! Gorgeous views of the water. Highly recommend!

Outstanding food and the best fish & chips so far in the UK. Generous servings, a diverse menu, vegan and veg options and an extraordinary dessert menu. Aside from the food, parking, sea views and great local people, the staff really make the difference. Friendly, helpful, and super accommodating for a group of six. Can't recommend enough!

Great spot for food and drink. Very reasonable prices. Had the traditional cullen skink, the lochalsh steak pie, and the mac and cheese. Was fantastic, highly recommend. Great views of the Skye Bridge and the loch.

Excellent FAMILY run business. Please try this restaurant over other local ones. This is a traditional friendly Scottish restaurant that has amazing food at a reasonable price. The views are amazing too.

Found by chance reasonable price warm welcome we ate very well

Well, we arrived at 7:30 p.m., aware that the services close early, so we immediately asked the waitress if we could have a drink and eat, the answer was yes, and we were given the menu as we sat down. Then 20 minutes later a waiter comes to take our cards and leaves with them. Worried we go to the bar to ask questions and ask to be able to eat. Answer: the kitchens are closing, we only have soup or a sandwich. We have been accustomed to a thousand times better level of Scottish hospitality.

It is a great place to have dinner if staying in one of the hotels nearby. The haddock soup was delicious and the staff was friendly plus the view of the bridge is very nice.

A fantastic restaurant in a fantastic location. Very cozy and first class food. Cullen Skink comes highly recommended. It was very busy (England - Scotland football game), but it was still a very successful evening.

Het restaurant promoot zichzelf met dat je niet hoeft te reserveren en altijd snel een tafel krijgt. De tafel hadden we redelijk snel als ook het voorgerecht. De toast bij de paté was slap geworden en daardoor niet lekker. Ook de vissoep smaakte niet erg lekker. Vervolgens hebben we een uur gewacht op het hoofdgerecht welke na een kwartier kwam nadat we eens hadden geïnformeerd waar het bleef. Blijkbaar waren ze ons vergeten. Qua service, die is er niet. Eerst sta je in de rij om een tafel te krijgen, dan om eten te bestellen. De drank moet je dan zelf naar de tafel brengen. Het eten komen ze nog net we brengen, maar dat was niet zo bijzonder. Wat ons betreft zeer overrated. Als je dan een belofte maakt, stem dan wel de capaciteit af op je personeel.

Lovely atmosphere in here with lovely food and staff

I had been there with my friend as he wanted to have some drinks. It's a good place, people were enjoying football match and snooker games with drinks.

Best grilled langoustines and sticky toffee pudding on this trip! Unassuming from the outside but food was sooo good and reasonably priced. One of our best meals and certainly best value for money

A gem! Friendly, helpful, happy staff; delicious dinners with loads of specials reaching beyond standard pub fare; strong drink menu and cozy, comfortable interior. Seafood special was especially good. And a billiards table! If I lived nearby this is where you’d find me.

Avoid at all costs. £15 for subpar fish & chips. Extremely unfriendly/aggressive crowd. Girls were harassed. Full of underage drinking.

Service was excellent as the steak pie came within 10 minutes. The restaurant section was closed, so ate in the bar area which was fine. Great view of the bridge. I would have preferred a slightly bigger potion for the price but the food was tasty and couldn't fault it otherwise.

The best bar in town with the best crew. Had the best time ever. The staff was super friendly, the views are amazing, the crowd is incredible. Must visit!!!!!!

Very busy bar (there isn't much competition in Kyleakin). Nice view of the water and Skye bridge. I didn't love the draught beer selection, so I just fell back on a Stella. The food menu is mosy classic pub fare. It's well made, so likely your best food choice in this town.

The world knows how good Scottish pubs are…..this is one of the best in Scotland. Fantastic views, wonderful food and friendly staff & locals. If you are lucky enough to visit Skye make sure you turn left as you come off the bridge.

What an expensive place it is where the staff have more regards for keeping there drunk locals pie eyed then looking after other customers. The food is over priced for example £12 for sausage and mash (which is the cheapest on the menu). Do your self a favour and stay well away

Nice boozer. Plenty of space inside and nice sized beer garden also. Would have been 5 stars if the pub had put on some entertainment after the booked band cancelled 5 days before they were due to be on (a free jukebox would even have helped).

Great spot to stop and enjoy a meal. Plenty of seating inside for those rainy days and comfortable outside tables when the sun shines. Easy access to the beach. Perfect stones for skipping rocks. Enjoy!

Ottimi piatti unici, abbondanti. Personale carino e disponibile. La prenotazione va fatta al bancone poi vi portano tutto al tavolo. Il primo giorno abbiamo mangiato un mix di pesci veramente molto buono, il secondo salsicce locali con riduzione di cipolla e pure, buoni ma meno saporiti.
