Been coming here every weekend for a roast dinner best roast for 13 pound also had the burger this week was amazing highly recommended this place for food burger meal with salad onion rings chips 9 pound well worth it

This is not your modern generation of middle class, Gastro pubs. The people are honest, friendly and real. Strangers are welcomed into the atmosphere. A decent working class pub. Rare nowadays . You wouldn't go there for the food but even if you turned up in you Gilet looking for tofu, you'd probably still be welcomed.

My son had the best 18th birthday at your establishment I've been a true regular for years and the staff all know me and my sons and so charlie had the best day sharing with friends and family so thank you very much xxx also I love the new paint job and sign the place looks so great and has made a huge difference xx

Went for lunch with my little boy & mother in law. Staff were amazing & very friendly. The lady serving & the man who was cooking were super friendly & spoke to us the entire time. Made us feel super welcome. Food was delicious. We both ordered full English, & it was amazing. Little one had fish fingers & chips, it was a very large portion. Just 1 suggestion for the kids meals, maybe do a "bigger kids" selection & a "toddler/little kids" selection (which would be a smaller portion size), as little kiddies don't eat as much as the bigger ones & I really don't like to waste food.

There is a new chef, and the food was good and made from scratch. The bar staff are very friendly and chatty. 😁

Visited the ppub for breakfast on our way back to Sunderland and it was wonderful the beautiful Helen who served could not have been more attentive funny charming and drop dead gorgeous the service was so good and the food was excellent I would recommend to anyone

Sorry but I have to change my review because all change after covid. So been there twice for lunch. 1st time I ordered bbq sauce burger because I like it and I got burger sauce. Second time I ordered fish fries and peace and I got beans. I don't know what is going on there but kitchen needs to be sorted

TLDR: Terrible customer service. Pool table is okay. If you're a middle aged male looking for a quiet pub, you're in luck. I had previously given this pub 4 stars. I first came here approximately 3 years ago for breakfast - food was okay (the kitchen is now under new management so I can't comment). I have been here 10 or so times with various friends over the last year to play pool midweek and on half of those occasions, I have ordered a beer or cider without being asked for ID. Usually there are 6-10 customers in the pub. I walked in sober and respectfully with 1 friend (we are, at time of writing 20 and 21 years old) on my last visit and asked about the available ales. Only London Pride. The barmaid (dark hair, late 40s, casual/ scruffy clothes and a local accent) who has served me on every previous occasion, proceeded to ask for ID. We happily provided our British driving licences but were understandably confused because we have been there on quiet nights and seem to be recognised. We were told our IDs were clearly fake. Mine was "not me" but I could provide several debit/ credit cards in the same name. She moved onto my friend's whose was "too flimsy". I asked if she was serious and she said yes. I responded "is your manager here? I'd like to speak to him". The barmaid walked out the back and returned to say no he's not there. I saw him walking between the two bars so this was clearly a lie. I'm really disappointed to see that someone who has worked for years behind a bar cannot recognise legitimate British ID. I'm not the kind of person who leaves bad reviews for fun and I actively look for the positives in businesses. @Management, PLEASE train your staff.

Claire Bland does an amazing cooked breakfast during the week and a fabulous roast dinner on Sundays head down there for all your family to enjoy. She has a fantastic reputation as the best cooked brekkie in Bucks.

Full of wannabe gangsters and coke sniffers in the toilets. Very aggressive place and people. Avoid this place unless you don't mind having a glass being shaved in your.face.

Amanda is a great bar tender. She is friendly and will always give you advice. She is really funny and makes you laugh at the weirdest things. All and all good place to drink.

Beer was good but they need to be careful who they serve and how much, bloke started laying his hands on a women there, getting aggressive and obviously VERY drunk, bar staff couldn't have cared less.

This pub is quite old, the floor was a little uneven but that's to be expected. Nice beer garden that overlooks a stream with wildlife nearby.

Me and my husband have a wedding reception their food was fantastic great service and it's our local pub to go to and never have any problems

Plenty of parking! Was a bit unsure as outside looks really run down but the breakfast was lovely thank you!! Recommend you pop in very good price.

Great services with a good pool table

Have had a couple of roast dinners here and they are pretty good. There are 2 bars.. The lounge part seems ok although the Pool bar is a bit rough and ready, but it is a locals pub so it's to be expected. It is on the side of the river and although I've never been in the garden seems like it would be nice. There is plenty of parking and leaving a car overnight is ok, it was difficult to watch the football though the day I was there. In the car park is a little kebab and burger van and although I don't usually eat from these type of vans. This one here is pretty good. The guy serving is very friendly too.

Had the pleadure of ordering a take away roast dinner for 3 people. Portions were good, plenty of different items, well packaged and absolutely delicious. Would have been a full 5 stars were it not for the abuse given to myself and my friend by pub hooligans watching the football in the 3 minutes our transaction took. Even so, we will be ordering again as the food was amazing, for £10 after a heavy saturday night it is worth it!

I usually go there in the evenings where you have friendly staff and nice cold beer. A riverside garden with a bunch of swans and ducks, easy parking and a pool table.

The food is very good thanks to the chef, but unfortunately the drinks are very expensive.

Quiet and good for sports. Menu isn't the best compared to others but service was nice.

Just passing through and stopped in for breakie. Received a warm welcome, especially from the chef. Charlie bear the dog is gorgeous and the food was spot on for the price. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

This is the best breakfast in town by far and i bring staff and clients here but ive just had a lunch of rib eye steak and my wife chilli and daughter, ham egg and chips...... nust awesome. Ive found out out that the steak comes from a butchers in london where her brother works and the chips cooked to peffection in fresh oil.... astounded the at the quality of this place . Dont let the exterior put you off.

Polite staff, pool table, parking and riverside beer garden. Would go here to sit outside in the summer. However it has no atmosphere, pub feels hollow and isn't homely.

as only 2 customers eating the food took an hr to prepare and wen food finally arrived was not as ordered burnt and un edible and not a single apology from the chef. we have eaten here before and food bin very good but after this experience we will not go back.
