Mandarin Palace in Wycombe

Have been enjoying great food for over a decade. My all time favourite dish is the sweet and sour pork Cantonese style. Thank you for the next decade to come.

Often getting an omelette and chips, for me I'm sticking to my dietary requirements, but I know plenty from the fried beef with cashew nuts to the special fried rice are exceptionally nice. Very good with also how they add their spice.

I've been coming here for years as it's consistently quick, very tasty and good value. The staff has always been very friendly but you can't sit down to eat.

The best Chinese in the whole of Wycombe! The staff are incredible! The food is 10/10, we live in Oxford and we still drive all the way to this one! Beef and cashew nut is elite! Chicken balls with sweet and sour is to die for and the veg spring roll is amazing! Thank you 🤩

Awful- avoid at all costs…simply awful Soup gloopy, mixed starter dry, poorly present and tasteless, chicken ball batter greasy with no crunch! The worst Chinese I have ever had

I got two chicken chow mein with chicken Balls, really, really good, the sweet-and-sour sauce was a bit thin , But tasted great , my kids loved the food, this is the only Chinese where the front staff is super friendly and local accent , Food was perfect and tasty , the only letdown is , anywhere else pretty much in London , if you order more than 15 pound , you get a free prawn crackers

We have been customers since the 1980s -the friendly and hard working staff always make us feel so appreciated as customers and always, whether a family treat or end of week cheer up they never fail. The food is delicious and full of flavour from the special fried rice king prawn balls kungobpo beef crispy chicken Cantonese char Sui pork . Thank you Mandarin Palace for always being so wonderful - also we must mention your ordering lady works so hard we don’t know how you do it over all these years. Sincere thanks for being so amazing we really appreciate you.

Welcoming and the food is nice however in the winter the heating isn't on much so wrap up warm whilst you wait for the food.

Ordered on deliveroo and the food did not taste fresh , really disappointed bland sweet and sour chicken balls, the quality of the chicken was questionable, wasted my money. I wish I went to the Chinese at Booker instead.

Haven't been here for many years but used to be very good, unfortunately it is not now. Ingredients were definitely not fresh, tasted old, very salty and left a weird aftertaste. Think this place is lasting on its name from years ago, standards have dropped immensely. If you want an amazing Chinese takeaway, I recommend Peking house in Totteridge, have been going there for the last 5 years and not once disappointed.

Ordered a take away which coat over £60, all I can say is I literally had a few bites and the rest went in the bin, never again!

Sarah is an amazing sweet lady. Always friendly and always remembers my order. The food is decent and well priced. Strongly recommend the crispy shredded chilli beef with egg fried rice.

Absolutely revulting food. Spent £60 on a takeaway. Everything was oily and separated. Food smelt foul and off. Ended up in the bin as after the first few bites I already felt nautious.

Excellent service. The food was great would recommend this takeaway. I will definitely be coming back when I am next in town.

I've just ordered a take away oh my god what a load of rubbish £53 down the drain I would never order from here, I wouldn't even feed it to my dog, every dish was like mush I feel sick already the only thing that tested ok was the can of coke which was from another country, how is this place allowed to be open serving the public food that tests like its out of the bin

Do not order from here. Spent the whole night throwing up from food that I had eaten from here. Stay well away

I don't generally do reviews but feel it necessary on this occasion. In brief, absolutely awful and expensive. Mixed starters dry and overcooked to such an extent that they were inedible. Crispy duck very dry. Mixed Chow mein very greasy and over cooked. Four Season just a mish mash of really poor quality meat and prawns. This is not the first time I've used this place but it will be the last. The lady who served is very pleasant and polite it's just a shame that the food is not up to scratch

Have been let down twice by kongs of Bourne end and was loosing faith in Chinese food across the board but tonight our faith has been regained lovely meal via deliveroo hot and the rice was amazing and the sweet and sour chicken with vegetables again was lovely. If we order this again which we will we will order extra sweet and sour sauce as its nice with the rice as well. Thank you 👍

Shame they don't offer their own delivery service as unless you pay all the inflated prices and fees from a well known delivery agent, you do have to collect yourself. Also would be handy if you could pay by card although there is a cashpoint in the Tesco next door..

Sent the wrong rice out, then Couldn’t Find a way to send the actual order out due to messing around with Deliveroo. Didn’t contact us to tell us so the rest of the food went cold and 30 quid went in the bin and we got a refund for one dish of rice from Deliveroo. Last time I eat there as the service and food has declined

Cash only, but a free cash machine is in the garage next door. Parking is hit & miss. Food is good, standard Fayre, packed well so no spillages.

Disappointing, expensive meal. Some positives: - food was delivered on time and was warm - duck was flavoursome and tender Some negatives: - beef with ginger and spring onions was very poor. Lacked any kind of flavour. Sauce was just corn flour and water. Beef was overcooked and tasteless. - duck portion was small compared with other Chinese takeaways Other comments: - food was expensive given the quality and portion size - Singapore vermicelli noodles were ok but needed some seasoning - egg fried rice needed seasoning Begrudgingly finished most the meal with exception of the beef. Won’t be returning.

Hands down one of the worst Chinese Takeaways Ive had. Ordered off Deliveroo. Had a special fried rice and it was far too dry, it was like eating cardboard. As for the Curry sauce I dont know what the heck they gave me but this is not normal Chinese Takeaway Curry sauce. It was swimming in grease and had a sickly sweet taste to it. It was absolutely foul. Avoid this place like the plague. You see the curry sauce in the attached photo how disgusting it looks. It tasted even worse.

The food was cold. The chillie beef was like deep fried mince meat. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My local is 15 quid cheaper (kongs in wooburn green) but they were closed, hence the delivery request. Stick to who and what you know and don't go off spec Sorry if it was a bad night or new chef but guys, tonight was really bad.

Great fresh tasting food! Lovely big & juicy prawns in our curry & noodles. Also great value for money with generous portions. Best of its kind in High Wycombe for sure!

Really bad food - everything tasted old and stale. It was obvious the food had been heated in a microwave. The duck came pre shredded and was really dry - if it was fresh they would have kept it on the bone. The beef in black bean was tough and chewy with a very watery black bean sauce. Sweet and sour chicken was dry and the batter was really soggy due to the watery sauce. Roast pork chow main was super oily and lo and behold the pork was dry and tough. Salt and chilli chicken was dry and stale tasting. Egg fried rice tasted like it was cooked last week. Needless to say I won’t be ordering from here again. I’m just grateful we didn’t have friends over as this was truly the most offensive Chinese food I have ever tried to eat.

Cold, hair in food, stale prawn crackers. Had food from here in June and was good, but today's was terrible.. Never again will I eat from here....

Honestly the worst Chinese I’ve ever had. It was shocking. The crispy beef was hardly edible the prawns were like tiny shrimp. The noodles had more bean sprouts then actual noodles and I can’t even explain how horrific the sweet and sour chicken was

What has happened to Mandarin Palace. It is usually our go to Chinese takeaway but tonight the prices had gone up yet again but the quality of food had gone down considerably. Even the prawn crackers were unpleasant. Won’t be coming back unless things improve drastically! 🤮

Lovely food, you get lot for your money.

I'm sorry to have say this, but I had a takeaway delivery last night for £35 and the food was terrible, we had BBQ spare ribs to start with, the sauce was lovely but the ribs were so tough I nearly pulled my teeth out trying to get the meat off, my misses had prawn curry and boiled rice, the rice was fine but the curry had no spice to it at all and tasted like a creamy sauce with very few prawns, I had mixed meat curry and that was just a creamy sauce and very little meat or veg, the best thing of that meal was the chips, so for £35 for one spare ribs chips one rice and two curry's we were very disappointed I will give it one star for the chips and rice.

Bought an A2 from memory, special rice, chicken chow mein and beef and mushrooms for £12 or thereabouts. Expected it to be a consolidated selection like most meals for 1, served in one large dish. It came as 3 x standard serve dishes where my initial though was what amazing value! However, the food was caked in oil, the beef cooked to oblivion and in summary, was sustenance over taste and quality. I'd much prefer a smaller serving of higher quality ingredients/end result at the prices. If you want to fill your belly then this will be for you, but those wanting a tasty oriental treat may want to consider alternative options.

The best Chinese food in town. I've had regular takeaways for over 20 years from this establishment. The quality remains high and the staff are friendly. Parking is quick turn around, so you can normally get a free space for collection. Recommend ordering on the phone for a pick up time.

Can't fault it, salt and pepper chips and house special chow mein were excellent and decent value. Gets quite busy around the area though with a lot of takeaways near each other.

Ordered a vegetable curry and spring roll from here. When trying the spring roll, both me and my friend gagged, it tasted like concrete and was soft Woke up the next morning with food poisoning! Awful experience overall

There idea of there satay fried chicken and crispy birds nest noodles is different to what we have always led to believe what the dish is. What came was boiled chicken in a round foil dish, mum wife could not even eat it, and my deep fried chilly beef was swimming in sause.

Ordered a Chinese takeaway from here. One of the best Chinese I've had in high Wycombe! We really enjoyed all of our food. Sweet and sour chicken and chicken with cashew nuts in yellow bean source with mixed started. Amazing value for money would 100% recommend!

Bar far the best Chinese takeaway in the area...I have been going here for years...very tasty, quality ingredients (not swimming in oil), and the lady behind the counter is always so polite and friendly. The only thing which would make it more flexible, would be to offer some vegan/tofu options for my wife...

My wife and I drive 7 miles to get to this takeaway and it is worth it every time. The food is superb and the service you get from the lady behind the counter could not be better. Highly recommended 😁

Where do I start? The duck wraps were something else- so juicy they were practically quacking. Delicious plum sauce and fresh veg. Why did the chicken chow mien cross the road? Because it was getting served up at my house- with some serious finger licking flavours!! The prawn toast was big enough to hold jack and rose if titanic were to sink second time around. They must have been working around the cluck to get the chicken satay up to the standard it is. Delivered with a smile and 17 mins early. Thanks!

Best Chinese in the Wycombe area and we’ve tried many. Very authentic flavours, you can tell the food is actually home-made. Great value for lonely too. Currently cash-only and very limited delivery service so best to collect.

Food is always delicious and hot, with some great variations on the standard Chinese menu. It's not my local, but it's worth the travelling distance to collect!

We bought 4 boxes take away and 2 of them found hair... My husband kept going to the toilet after we ate and I have funny stomach too... Sweet and sour pork is disappointing... like eating chewy deep fried dough instead of pork... Egg fried rice‘s rice is hard and chewy like plastic... The one star is for the friendly staff...

Greast Chinese very tasty nice food being eating here for years so im amazed to find out that this place has a 1 out 5 on the food hygiene rating the kabab van near by has a better rating and i wouldnt eat from there totally shocked. Update it is now rated 4 out of 5

I have been going to this Chinese for nearly 20 years, I have moved to oxford but still travel down to get my Chinese as nowhere round here comes close, portions are very good and it's not too costly. I only wish they took cards and served salt and pepper squid. 100% recommendeded

Very nice food and the best in High Wycombe in my opinion, but try it for yourself. Only reason for 4 stars is that they do not have a delivery service, and to be honest I hate doing it. Even the family that run it are the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. Been coming here for years and never dissapointed.

Its nice to have a chinese that isnt swimming in fat.. Mandarins palace os really nice..not been sick once yet. The ribs are really nice,plenty of meat on.the noodle are yummy. Weve tried alot of the chinese places in wycombe and not been good. mandarin been good so far.

Do a great value and wide choice lunchbox menu Monday to Friday lunchtimes for £4.20 including rice or chips. From main menu their sweet & sour Cantonese style & chicken with cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce are both very tasty. Rest of menu is what you'd expect, good value for money. Other stand out dish are their huge chicken balls (ask for the sweet and sour sauce separate, it costs 10p more but worth it)

My local chinese takeaway. Always friendly staff, clean and welcoming, fast turnaround and the food is delicious. It's a classic menu, nothing truly exceptional but exactly what you'd expect. Very good lunchtime deals too.

Friendly staff, excellent food. The deep fried shredded beef can be a bit too spicy sometimes but will continue to be our main take away destination.
