The King Denham in South Bucks

Our first visit to this place, and we were thoroughly impressed! The food was great. The staff were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We can’t wait to come back!

Nishu served us with a big smile on her face even though we arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed. The food came promptly and it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere tonight was very lively and cheerful even at 11pm. The lollipop chicken is a 10/10 banger! Thoroughly enjoyed.

Amazing food - some of the best Indian food eaten even compared to India.

Poor service from one lady with chipped nails. Not a great way for your food to be served. Chicken Bhuna was ordered but it was definitely not one that was served, no tomatos and full of rock solid peppers. I enquired about it but there was only shock that I thought it wasn’t a bhuna and no replacement. Took 25 mins to order the food and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Server rudely told us to wait to be served whilst she cleared tables when we had waited a while already. Sad as the pub is lovely, wouldn’t go back for the food or service.

my daughter ordered a chicken bhuna and this was definitely not a chicken bhuna she complained as a bhuna is made with tomatoes. She got told this is how it’s made, they didn’t even offer her something else I had a chicken curry. It was more like a chicken vindaloo so won’t be going back there.

Great food, very quiet on the Monday we arrived. The Indian food was top-notch, we really enjoyed it, lots of choice too. An excellent vegetarian menu. We like spicy food and this was a little bit spicy, so we enjoyed it more. The bill was pleasantly surprising, not too much at all.

Really nice chilled out vibe. Delicious food - we had masala Chips, masala Paneer, Masala Chops.. we love our Masala… and glad as this place does them well. Pardeep gave us a warm service.

Don’t often make a review but, The King pub in Denham warm with a very friendly service. So welcoming, especially for my 84-year-old dad, who is always well taken care of. The staff go above and beyond, ensuring his drinks are brought to him and assisting him to his lift when it's time to leave. Their attentiveness and kindness truly make a difference and I know as his son he he well looked after and safe.

Went here on a Sunday at 6pm, restaurant was quiet but the bar area was busy. The food was amazing, it was cooked fresh as it came out as it was cooked, not brought out in one go when you know some of it sat int he side then for a while. Best mixed grill I have had Ina. While and the chicken wings were to die for. The garlic naan was so good too. The service was excellent, will definitely recommend for the indian starters. We don’t have a main as we for full on starters. Very impressive food, good prices too.

Quite a small, hidden gem of a pub

1st time here... Just me & my Wife on our Aniversary. Normally go to AQ. Food was excellent, same with the Atmosphere & Service. Will definitely come again with the rest of the Family.

A pleasant experience every time!

Food was delicious: every dish we tried tasted unique with the right amount of spice. It's a smaller pub than usual, but the advantage of this is the owner (Raj) spends a massive portion of his time looking after his customers as well as pouring all the pints. He was a great host. Strong selection of beer also. Will definitely be coming back again. Great value for money all around.

the food is amazing, they have a restaurant at the back.. but you can eat in the bar .....in the bar they have a pool table....I had chicken tikka and massala chips omg!!! you must try them

Amazing and super authentic Punjabi food! Also, the owners are operators - so you can tell they actually care and put significant effort into customer service. Great staff too, highly recommend and will definitely come back! They’re also dog friendly!

Delicious food, we were a party of 7 and every dish was delicious, highly recommend. The masala fries were the best I’ve had!

Did a takeaway and did impress! Was a great takeaway, great punjabi flavours! Highly recommended if in the area, the sheek kebabs and butter chicken are a must try! Keep it up, next time will eat in for sure!

Food was reasonable. Service was completely diabolical! Firstly get told by the first waitress that food won’t be served before 3:30 (had booked for 1:30). Then the server kept changing and we kept getting pushed to order (despite assurances that we had the table till 4:30). Wouldn’t recommend, ruined our day. I hope they improve their customer service in future.

Myself and 3 friends came here for dinner. Service was initially really good even though we were sat in the bar area as the restaurant area was closed for the evening due to only 2 bookings which was fine for us. The starters were nice and the server was attentive... We ordered mains, which sadly lacked the taste and quality of the starters... We ordered the Dahl, Punjabi Chicken and Chana masala... When we were asked "how was your food" we provided feedback, specifically around the chana masala which was undercooked and over-spiced.... rather than taking the feedback in the manner it was given, the server rudely retorted "Well, I think my chef knows what he is doing, he has been doing it a long time...." I would suggest don't ask customers how was their food and then tell them they are basically wrong if you don't agree...!! The service went downhill from there on in... The server never returned to ask if we wanted the dessert menus or additional drinks. We paid the bill (£160) and left to continue our evening in a local pub. We would have have gone back another time but for the sake of £7.95 (the price of the Chana masala) this establishment has lost future customers due to the unnecessary attitude of not liking what they were told about one of their dishes. We sadly won't be back.

Excellent food with a great atmosphere. The food and people really make this place an amazing pub to visit. Friendly staff who are attentive and very accommodating. The food was the best we have had in a very long time, cooked to perfection and everything is so fresh.

Had the misfortune to eat there about 3 weeks ago. I can only describe it as an Indian Faulty Towers. Lead into a dark room, and asked, if we wanted the lights on ! Should have released we were in for an experience, we can only laugh about it now. Food very average, lack of plates and missing cutlery. Drinks arrived sporadically. Served my a friendly lady, who was trying to teach a new member/ friend of staff the ropes. Nether had a clue. And the cherry on the top of the cake, it was extremely expensive. Plenty of space in the car park 🤔 Thanks you for your reply. We all live fairly locally. And this seems a pretty common view. Our visit occurred on 7/ 10/ 2023, about 5.30pm.

I have visited alot of Indian restaurants and most cannot compare to high quality in East London. However this is the first establishment which I believe can rival East London for lamb chops. I thoroughly enjoyed the friendly service and atmosphere. Food wise - the lamp chops, chilli mushrooms, chicken lollipop and prawns were very tasty and packed with flavour. Alot of credit to the chef and bar staff.

Nice little pub! Good choice of pints, shame there's no beef on the menu, but I totally respect that. Free parking as well

Turned up en mass , told em there would be 15 of us but there was more like 30 , very accommodating , nice people , in the middle of nowhere but very popular. Buttermilk chicken and garlic naan was the nicest bit of Indian food I've ever tasted and the fish starter things were very nice also.

Having lived in Amersham for 10 years + i always looked outside for a Mixed Grill and heard about the King Denham. Located in Denham the King Denham is away from the hustle and bustle. It has its own atmosphere and vibe. I have been to a few pub /indian restaurant and this is by far the best. A typical pub atmosphere but out back ia great space for group eating and i also spotted a. banqueting area. The staff are Attentive and know the dishes well. We looked around had a few drinks n ready to order. It was just and another table so not busy at 8pm. We opted to order all same time with drinks too. Mixed Grill: Sizzling on skillet, Tasty with a great variety of meats, even the classic onions cooked. Amritsari Fish: Wow although fried it was flakey white fish and crispy. Wings: Crispy and perfect. Chicken Madras: Flavour on Flavour good ration of meat Fish Curry: Beautifully flavoured, fragrant and tasted amazing. We tried a few Naans, piping hot and fluffy. My new Grill n Glass place until i open my own. Amar Rai and the team did brilliant. Great Food, Service, Quality and Pricing. Crown the King

Amazing food and service - The food was spot on and I can’t wait to go back with the family. The atmosphere in the pub is so kid friendly and the service is amazing. Would definitely recommend. 5 stars all the way! The fact that you also have parking is an added bonus.

Great place in Denham Village. Plenty of parking, fantastic service, excellent fresh and spicy Indian food. We were celebrating a family birthday and Anita and the team were wonderful.

Amazing service and delicious food provided recently for a local event. Everything was spot on, service was fantastic beginning to end. It was a good experience liaising with the manager Raj, about our event and our catering needs. He was great at ensuring he was clear on our requirements and it was executed perfectly on the day. Owner Aaron was very accommodating to us during our visit. Food was fantastic, I had the chicken Madras with the butter naan. Would highly recommend to anyone!

The chicken pakoda was very dry. The service for the food was a tad slow. The food from the Tandoor and chat were very good.

I ordered a chicken jalfrezi and pilau rice and it was so delicious! The guy who served us, Aaron, was really hospitable and checked on us at all times. Best Indian i’ve had in a while! Definitely recommend coming here with family with a great atmosphere

Not being from the area, we popped in after a local event. Staff were super friendly. We popped in for a drink but the Indian food smelt so good we ordered dinner. So pleased we did, it was super tasty. Will visit again next year 😁

Upon arrival we were given a warm and friendly welcome from Aaron, who owns and runs this establishment. He gave us good advice on the menu choices and the food was spot on. The food quality was perfect, good freshly prepared food full of flavour. I can honestly say no two dishes tasted the same. The service was excellent. Aaron offered to open up the restaurant seating area however we decided to stay in the pub section. I have uploaded images from the restaurant, which can be booked for private events. I'll definitely be doing this in the future. Keep up the great work Aaron and the team at The King Denham and I look forward to dining there again in the near future.

Great pub with a wide variety of beers, and the food was amazing, the best in town! I would highly recommend if you are in the area. Also The Staff were very welcoming and accommodating! I will definitely be returning for a few cold ones and a curry very soon!

Good Punjabi pub LOCAL to us I WAS shocked to find how scrumptious 😋 the hotdog and chips were they were banging they hit the spot Although I was very full after a pint of Coke Zero the portions of chips and the size of the hotdog were not rubbish but amazing ! Huge portions for a kids meal and under a tenner for u lads out there I was stuck to finish the fries after a long battle of bread 2 glasses of ice water I will note to come for lunch another day as it was a good filler and atmosphere for the dollar The pool table was good here however the air was not very good the grey one to be specific I was frazzled to the shock of it not performing as well as the generic one to show this even my brother tried it and he agreed that was tested twice that’s reliable results right there overall fantastic pub

The King is a hidden treasure and have been coming here for sometime in the past, but, so much more recently. The food is excellent, from the quality, spices, tandoori taste, down to the portions. The staff have been incredibly accommodating and go the extra mile whenever they can. Highly recommend for anyone who wants some good Indian food, drinks, and great atmosphere/service!

Have been here a few times over the last few years but twice in the last couple of weeks. We needed a separate table due to having to shield a family member and the owners were extremely accommodating. Food is absolutely top drawer, both mains and starters. Service is excellent and all staff are very friendly. Great place highly recommend for families and friends

The mixed grill is hands down the best I've had in a long time! Food and drink is reasonably priced and it has a nice family atmosphere.
