Chips were burnt, looked like oil wasn't changed for over a week. But the sausage was fine and the people are friendly. Shame

The wait for the food was quite long, the fish and chips were hot as they were cooked to order.

This place needs shutting down absolutely disgusting food £8 for pie and chips and I couldn’t eat it

Waited 20 minutes for inedible food. Vomited it up later on in the night.

Not used the Key for a while, but was very pleased with my fish n chip supper the other night, freshly cooked by mother & son team, had a lovely laugh & conversation with them, The food was really tasty but should of bought a larger portion as I had to share with my wife !! I agree with the review from Alex. I have been to The Key twice in the last week and will happily give it 5 stars for both visits. Friendly patron too. Really good tasting chips and fish. I'm not so keen on the pie. It's a bit heavy on the pastry but that's not enough to lose a star.

So many of the fish and chips in Deeside are below par, that is not the case with this establishment. The oil does not taste old so they must change it regularly unlike some. The chips are well cooked and not soggy or shop brought fries. The fish is thick and juicy. They also do battered mars bars which are fantastic. The pricing is very reasonable. The only negative is they do not currently do deliveries. If you want fish and chips in the Deeside area this the only place to go.

This is worst chippy ever, fish was disgusting covered in who knows what but it weren't batter chip greasey and soggy meal went in the bin will not be going again 🤮

Absolutely disgusting!! Would not recommend to anyone. Given 1 star only because can not give a zero. Waited 15 minutes for a large portion of chips to discover they were frozen chips soaking in grease which I wouldn't fill a chip cone. They were completely inedible. We would have returned them but we were only driving through and not from the area. No wonder the place was empty. Horrible discussing food. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Paid for them as they went to the hassle of cooking it, but had to go elsewhere as we couldn’t eat these. Chips have clearly sat there for a long time soaking up old oil. Inedible

Absolutely disgusting food. I couldn't eat fish or chips. Didn't change the oil, food was full of smell old oil. Already cooked chips he cooked those for me again. Very rubbish. Please avoid!

We popped in here as a last minute decision for Fish & Chips after going to the climbing wall venue. The fish was freshly prepared and the chips were lovely. Needed to wait a little longer as all made to order, which was fine. 10 out of 10. Would definitely go back.

They mostly cook to order so food is always hot, you have to wait a little bit longer than some faster fast food places and I have no problem with this. The owners are friendly and happy to chat while you wait. Prices are reasonable compared to some other places.

Just been in an hour before they were due to close nothing hot prepared in the display cabinet so I thought I would chance a portion of chips well I didn't think anybody could mess up a portion of chips I was wrong reheated chips tiny portion could only eat about 30% of them even they were only just edible

Sounds crazy to say but great chips! Not fries nor the usual chippy chips, these are what we used to call wedges 😊 Very friendly staff and 10 years same owners. Highly recommend.

This is probably the worst fish and chips that I´ve ever tried. Congratulations.
