Beautiful breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. Sausage provided for our dog. Reasonably priced. Spotlessly clean. We will be back to try other meals here.

Had a fantastic family meal (13 of us aged 9yrs to 70yrs) Celebrating hubby's 70th. As usual, fantastic food, service & super friendly staff!! l love this pub which is on my door step & will continue to recommend highly to others. Well done yet again!

Just had lunch at the Red Lion. Absolutely fantastic. The staff recommended their new coronation chicken flatbread… it did not disappoint. Beautifully cooked chicken, loads of fresh veggies, pineapple… absolute delight! Staff were so friendly, and lovely to chat to. Will defo be back, any time we’re passing

Perfect venue for a family birthday celebration! Extensive and reasonably priced menu with delicious, freshly cooked food. Warm welcome & faultless customer service throughout, exceeding our already high expectations. We were a party of 15 and we all absolutely loved it. Went as a small group after a wedding. Had pre booked the staff had put some decorations on the table. The landlady came and congratulated the bride and groom. The food was excellent the atmosphere was great we all enjoyed ourselves. Thank you to all the staff.

Very pleasant staff with excellent service, the ploughman's was lovely but the bread let it down a little bit a fresh baked roll would have been better, because it was later in the day I think the bread had dried out, nice selection of ales too

Great food, nice location and good service

Called in with my aunty this morning. The car park was full as they were hosting a conference party. Despite this, they welcomed us in and took our food orders. I went for the big breakfast and it was top quality. My aunty had a lighter option which she enjoyed too. The service was warm and friendly, and the bill was reasonable too. Fantastic experience all round.

Went on Saturday 22nd March for a night out with the girls. On walking in to the bar area I was really impressed. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The staff were very attentive and again friendly. The food was delicious, very tasty, hot, and delicious 😋. The pub itself was very clean, will definitely be going again. Thank you to Warren, Gwen, Layla and the rest of the staff for a fantastic evening x

Stopped in for breakfast, food and service was very nice . Only slight issue was old hard rock music playing .... not the best choice for a relaxing Sunday morning I will be back again when in the area and try the Sunday roast next time 🎉

Nice relaxing atmosphere, very friendly staff, food excellent. I went for the 3 meat roast and the wife had the pork roast, we also shared a side of cauliflower cheese. Although feeling full at the end of the dinner we still had room for desert of apple Betty, which was lovely. It was nice to eat the meal without getting asked every 5 minutes if everything was alright, when we asked for extra drinks they came and served us quickly. Would recommend a visit and we will be going back

No sports what so ever tv not even on. When asked for sport they said none available. Even tho advertise live sports and sports bar. Travelled there with friends for drinks and two watch football match.

We had a absolutely lovely Sunday roast here, the food was delicious & the service was second to none. I must say the atmosphere here has vastly improved since it reopened, it's cozy and there's a lovely vibe. Would definitely recommend & will be back very soon. Many thanks to the team

I haven't been to this pub for food in a long long time as it was dreadful. 8 of us went yesterday - omg what a transformation - the food was some of the best I've had for a long time - 4 of us had steak - all cooked absolutely perfectly, my fish pie was amazing. Service impeccable from all - highly recommend and will be back very soon. Thank you Team Red Lion x

What a transformation this pub has achieved now has a lovely atmosphere in a comfortable stylish environment.food we all had was excellent everyone enjoyed with zero dislikes. Beef randang curry was exceptional beautiful beef and super flavour..burgers and the fish were good and the fish pie was very tasty. Good selection of beers …neck oil ipa was good. Wine especially the Malbec was good value. Bar service from Dean was excellent efficient and friendly…waitresses were also really pleasant ladies who did a great job job. This venue is now one to try again it’s unrecognisable from its earlier years and the use of the front of pub area has been an inspired change that has transformed the atmosphere.

Beautiful Sunday lunch, great service, would definitely recommend.. We've been before & always had a great experience, we'll be back!! The sticky toffee pudding is delicious too

I have been to the Red Lion for breakfast a few times since it re-opened, with my adult son who has Autism and can heartily recommend it. He finds the atmosphere and ambience suits him, he is unable to function in some venues. Yesterday I went there for lunch with my daughter. The steak burger was honestly the best I have ever had, the coleslaw was delicious and even the chips were amazing. I love the calming atmosphere at the Red Lion and the comfy chairs. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The fire was lit which made it even cosier than ever. On a practical side there is a large car park and a variety of seating areas inside. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

First time we had been in for a few years for our yearly works do and we were all very impressed with the place. Great atmosphere and was nice to see a decent place being busy. Food was great and overall a fab night for our works do. Thank you

Loved my first visit here certainly will not be my last one of many ,my lasangna wax fab ,

The Red Lion was the venue for my late fathers wake at the end of March and all I can say is a big thank you to the staff and Landlords who made the afternoon so enjoyable even though it was a wake. Food was great and bar was staffed appropriately. We have also had evenings meals there and also sampled the breakfasts and we weren't disappointed.

We all 3 of us had marvellous hearty main meals priced very reasonably, in front of a lovely log fire. Our dog was made to feel extremely welcome!

Called for a table for lunch. When we got there greeted by lovely friendly staff. Ordered our drinks and food. While waiting my sugars dropped dramatically. I informed Kerry the lovely owner. She got me an orange juice and a biscuit. Came back over to see if I was ok. Food arrived after only a short wait. Lovely food. Very busy in there but still very impressed with Team Red Lion we will be back 10/10 merry Christmas all

What an outstanding place atmosphere was great. The owner and staff were really friendly. Food was the best we have had in a long time in a restaurant, there is plenty of choice and reasonably priced. Had the king prawn linguine looking forward to going back and trying their breakfast. There are plenty of free parking spaces available.

Absolutely love this pub/restaurant. The atmosphere is really good, the staff are the friendliest my son and I have met in a long time. I really can't fault anything. If anything doesn't feel right the staff will do whatever has to be done to resolve it. We highly recommend the whole experience to everyone 🌹 💖

Our cricket team Christmas meal at the Red Lion in Northop 18 of us attended It was a very nice Christmas meal with all the trimmings at a reasonable price. Friendly staff, clean and warm pub. Will definitely return.

Just got back from being out with my Northop Cricket Club ladies team for our Christmas meal. Couldn’t fault the service or food which were both excellent. There were 17 of us and all meals came out together and were piping hot. I would definitely recommend.

Very long wait for average food

Lovely place recently reopened with great new owners food very tasty and well priced. Had the rib eye steak which is excellent. Likewise the pie. Drinks very reasonable priced Sticky toffee pudding wasn’t very good Overall very nice and well deserved to succeed

Very welcoming staff and enjoyed visiting. Vegetarian choice was non existent which was a shame.

Excellent service and very good value for money.

A catch up with old friends, what a lovely place, beautifully decorated, gives such a nice atmosphere. Food was nice, especially the Black Pudding starter with home made Hash brown. I had the King Prawn and Crab Linguine, loveley fresh Pasta and Seafood . Everyone else enjoyed their meals, Steak pie, and Chicken Kiev especially, all fresh ingredients. Desserts we're delicious, and a good variety. Service is spot on, staff work hard to provide a friendly attentive service. We are meeting up again before Christmas so looking forward already. Highly recommend the Red Lion x

Visited recently as we had heard good things about the new owners and we were not at all disappointed. From the warm welcome, the hot tasty food and the comfortable surroundings it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Reasonably priced as well. We shall definitely be returning.

From the outside, it looked very promising. We entered the restraunt side of the pub. It was like a big open space, with a few tables and a bar put in it. Unfortunately, there was very little atmosphere due to the size of the place. The service we received was very good and the staff were very pleasant. The menu was Sunday roast only. As we were waiting to be seated, they informed us that all the Turkey had gone, we did contemplate leaving as my partner normally only has Turkey. If she has any other meat, it has to be well done because, as a qualified chef and a teacher of food hygiene, she believes all meats should be cooked well through as a lot of people don't like red colour in their meat. The dinners arrived, I had chosen the pork and she the beef. My pork was cooked, but I think it could have been done with a bit longer, but I carried on eating it. When my partner went to cut hers, she looked at it and said, " I can't eat that", it was done rare, which I like. Overall service was very good, the rest a disappointment.

This pub has recently changed hands and being only about a mile from home we thought we'd give it a try. We booked for a Wednesday night which we discovered is quiz night. We arrived and parked, there is ample parking in front of the pub. We were asked on arrival if we were going to take part in the quiz when I said no we were shown to a table in a quieter area. The menu was basic pub food with a few nice additions, after ordering the food arrived quickly and was well cooked and presented. My two niggles and the reason the pub didn't score higher is that the area we were seated in was a bit chilly and the total lack of draught beer with only w Worthington smooth flow and Guinness on keg

The restaurant and bar have been extensively updated, and all to the good. It's much cosier now. The menu is varied and good quality. People are raving over the quality of the sausages and bacon. The new landlords are doing a great job, long may they continue.

New tenants Ceri and Dean have got it just right.! A cosy, friendly atmosphere in comfy surroundings with good pub food.

Reopened recently, and it's absolutely great. Lovely breakfast, great service and the recently renovated front of the pub is very pleasant. Definitely recommend.

We visited here last night (10/09/24 ) and received a lovely warm welcome ordered our meal and then waited 35 mins for it to arrive it was good,we then waited another 20 mins for main course as to which I had to ask should it have come with onion rings overall I found the evening disappointing, sorry but got to be honest

Only stopped here as traffic was so incredibly bad. The guy behind the bar was very friendly. Lines were nice and clean and it wasn’t too expensive for two beers. Under a tenner. The pub was also very clean and had a lush atmosphere. Would go again.

What a difference the new owners have made already. Amazingly friendly and keen to hear feedback whether negative or positive. Whilst we've all been disappointed with previous managers, you won't be disappointed with the new guys. The atmosphere is lovely. The food is delicious. Anyone who visits will be in for a treat. Can't wait for the main restaurant to open on the 28th. I will definitely be visiting more regularly. Dog friendly as well which is always a bonus in my opinion.

Pub has new owners and a been refurbished its lovely and cosy inside, new owners are so friendly and welcoming and food is 10/10. Definitely will be back!

The new owners have done an amazing job. It's only a limited menu at the moment as the restaurant section does not open until later this month. However the choice offered is excellent as it the quality of the products. Will definitely visit here again

My god this is the worst place I’ve ever eaten ,got there at 13.50 place was freezing cold ,ordered drinks and then after 40 mins they came over to say they’d ran out of beef we had to have turkey 30 mins later the dinner came after 80 mins and was stone cold ,only peas and watery cabbage ,absolutely disgusting 🤮 if you are thinking of going please do not bother ,manager is a disgrace,DO NOT EVER GO HERE

Had a family get together here, the place was freezing, we waited over 1 hour for our food which was luke warm when it arrived, we was offered 10% off the bill after complaining.

The steak was cooked to my wife’s liking and was well worth the money. As for the pie…. It was jam packed with steak in a delicious gravy, encased within a beautiful pastry parcel. The steak pie was one of the best that I’ve had in a long time. All in all, we had a lovely relaxing dinner. Definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Lovely food, was hot and delicious. Staff friendly and welcoming. They were lovely with the Children Will definitely go again.

Heard about the refurbishment and decided to give it a go on the way home from hospital. Hubby went in to the loo whilst I parked the car. Got inside and plane was cold and empty. Waited for hubby to decide where he wanted to sit and whilst I waited a rather large 🐀 rat ran from behind the bar area into the gents toilet. Needles to say we didn't stay. Manager obviously seen us leave and heard me screaming so came out to the car to ask what was wrong. Didn't seem to believe me. Hope he has brought in pest control. Shan't visit again.

Went in function room with friends, pre selected menu, served around 9.30, not enough food ran out of rice etc, manager very rude said he had cooked 3kg and that there were only 8 people who hadnt had any. After 15 mins we were called back to what looked like packet rice, manager said that would do. He was an awful man, insulting one of the friends. There should of been more than enough food as ten people had paid for food but not turned up.

Greeted well by (I think Katie), Looked after by every member of staff we encountered. Piping hot beautiful food, still at 5pm (Which is rare at the end of a carvery) The meat was well prepared and of a high quality, the beef in fact was one of the best I’ve ever had. I then had cheese cake dessert, again up there it’s one of the best. I can’t recommend enough, Go early to avoid disappointment, and go hungry!!! Or you wont fit it all in,(they’re not shy on the portions) As we left I overheard the chef to the kitchen staff, briefing them, and pretty inspiring toward them, And then I heard the owners asking the waitress is she getting home safe is someone coming for her, So a family run business that seemed to extend the family to include the staff, As a business owner, you’ve no idea how important this mens to me. If we’re in the area again we will return x

Went for a pie and mash "do" with oakenholt bowling and RNLI. We were in the back room, which was a bit chilly to start with. Pie and mash nice. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Nice place with pleasant service and all right interior. Ordered fish'n chips. The food came quickly and the waiter (and bartender) was a very nice fellow. Definitely recommend if you are nearby and are hungry.

Excellent food and service. Visited on a Friday evening and I have to say that the new people are doing a cracking job. The food was absolutely delicious- chicken tenders meal, honey glazed salmon - couldn't fault. Our waitress was so courteous - thank you. Do pay a visit as the food, etc deserves the praise.

Warm welcome, Lovely lunch we had half Fish and Chips freshly cooked to order. Place is lovely and clean with a well stocked bar. Having had previous poor experiences under previous management - it’s nice to have people who are intent on giving excellent quality of food and service you deserve to succeed. This deserves the support of the local community, we will return.

(Under new ownership) We ended up going to this pub by chance as my Apple Maps took us to this “Red Lion” rather than a different one, and we are glad it did! The service was great, a friendly gent called Tommy served us and made us feel right at home. Refreshing to be served by someone who clearly enjoys their job and wants to provide a good service to their customers as it seems to be few and far between these days. We had mushrooms & rarebit to start and they were well presented and delicious. We had pie & fish chips for the main, big portion sizes and the food was hot and we didn’t have to wait long. The fish was super fresh and the meat in the pie tender. All round enjoyable lunch served with a smile. Would definitely recommend.
