The Keg Inverness is what a true pub should be like. It has the old style atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will be back to do so again.

Friendly staff and great service

A very local feel to the place but not unwelcoming and close to other entertainment venues in the city. Located down a side street, close to a rock pub, it's a cosy cubby-hole.

The Keg is a cosy little pub, very central, close to the station, good prices and a nice atmosphere.

A lovely, friendly pub with good drinks at good prices, right in the heart of Inverness; an ideal place to stop for some refreshment.

Moira was behind the bar and made us feel right at home. We arrived looking for food so she walked us out to the street and gave us directions. We came right back for our after dinner drinks. It was pretty empty but she let us know it is normally full of a regular local crowd. She then gave us great recommendations for the next stop on our travels.

Very good and friendly bar staff (Wilma I think) continually working through a very busy morning with a constant flow of customers wanting to be served. Prices are very reasonable. 10/10 from me and I'll be back as the man used to say.

Yes. It was an experience, there’s no doubt about that!

Nearly refused service when I got my drink as the boss told me I was too young even after I showed my age in my drivers license even then I had to get my mates and i am older than one of them by a couple of months I still got refused then the boss asked if I had a credit card or passport for proof I don’t carry my passport nor do I like the idea of a credit card as I don’t think it’s a great thing. I got treated hostile and was more concerned about my LEGAL drivers license getting taken away from me for no reason I highly not recommend if you are young and passing by as you will feel like a outcast when you are trying to get a drink in the pub. I never post reviews but after this experience I was not happy with the attitude towards me even though I proved my age prior to my drink

What a brilliant clientele the place was rockin

Unfortunately have to drink bottle beer as favoured beer not on tap. Do enjoy the atmosphere and regulars I meet there.

A drunk walked around the corner and ran into me while I was looking at my map. He (playfully) scolded me for standing right at the corner of a building. He smelled like whiskey so I asked him where the bar was. He pointed and said he just came out of a wee one but I don’t want to go there because it’s all grumpy old men. So of course I had to go. It was an older local crowd, but definitely not grumpy. Bartenders were attentive and courteous. Crowd was a lot of fun. Had the best time!

Made welcome as soon as I stepped in. Excellent service by Val. Would highly recommend a visit.

Fantastic atmosphere & friendly staff

Would leave zero stars if I could, absolutely shocked at the way I spoke to by Val, bar staff. I provided proof of exemption, even though I did not have to. Pointed out politely the law regarding discrimination policy, showed proof of legislatuon and she flipped and started shouting at me like I was a little boy. I have never beem so dumbfounded by a power hungry person clearly not educates by the owner on legal matters surrounding exemption and possible prosecution under the Equalities Act. Also lint of guniess was way below standard, clearly not a fresh keg. Avoid the place if you have some self respect. far better pibs like 147, MacCallums, they are proper pubs

Great banter with the locals, table services in a proper wee pub

Looking for a place to have a drink whilst in inverness and came across this great gem of a place. lovely warm welcome by Paul .all covid rules being strictly adhered to. Service was fast and efficient with the assisrance of Mova ( a great knowledge of mixology) served some great drinks ) along with Val ... all chipping in to make sure all customers were catered for and happy with drinks in hand . All in all a very friendly pub offering a great service. Had a great night . Thanks guys !

Quick job to finish. Met up with friends had a few staff were friendly, customers hilarious typical regulars. Owner popped in for a bit. Would come back in a minute.....

Potentially one of the most welcoming pubs in Inverness, soon as you walk in you can tell that everyone is friends and the staff are enjoying the shift. Do amazing karaoke on a Friday that is just hilarious. 100% recommend

if you’re wanting a proper wee bar in inverness the keg is the place to go! karaoke night is awesome, staff are great and the whole atmosphere makes you want to stay the whole night!

Found this gem of a pub in Inverness Doesn’t look much from outside but what a warm welcome once inside ..from staff and clientele.great beer and great shorts at reasonable prices ..especially doubles fifer on the vodka. Not a big pub ..one bar ,but a great atmosphere “ITS A PROPER PUB “ full of friendly characters Will deffo being calling in again next time I,m in Inverness 🍻

Decent little saloon. Open early doors too when hangovers need quashed with more light refreshment. The locals are a friendly bunch well worth a visit if your in the town.

Been in couple of times always busy

VERY Helpful Bartender! She helped me with my Bucket list... Drink a single malt scotch Whisky while in Scotland! It was shortly after 9:AM just as the Keg opened and I got my Whisky and pounded it down in one gulp then and there; the keen patrons of the Keg said you should sip it, but she agreed it was OK since I had to RUN back to the bus! I was plenty HAPPY with drinking Whisky while in Scotland!!!!

Polite service, a classic Scottish pub.

Working man's bar in centre of town and close to railway station. Friendly enough but major problem are toilets which are down large flight of stairs rendering it impossible for those with a disability to visit.

It is open from 9am and is a haven for thirsty souls.

Wee break to Inverness, been into a few pubs. Found this wee pub on the last day. Compared to the other pubs we found the staff and customers very friendly. Wish we had found the pub sooner.

The pub is old and dingy and it is a very cliquey place if your face doesn't fit you're not welcome.

When I'm in Inverness I always pop into The Keg as it has such a friendly place with a great atmosphere and a few characters Always a welcome from staff and patrons

Just because the football game you want to watch is posted on the board outside, does not mean that you will be able to watch it. Why? Because one of the regulars wants to watch something else and that's that.

Great for watching football, busy place at weekends, they do food eg soup within a decent price

Good place for drinks and a laugh

It's a grubby wee bar down one of the most avoidable streets/lane in Inverness. The pub itself is quite popular tho, (usually with jackeys, junkies, & undesirable folk) plus it opens at 09:00 in the mornings. It sits on Byron Taylor Street which is dirty, & avoidable. It's right across from Inverness train station so that's where it'll get a lot of custom from. In the 15 years I've lived in Inverness I've only been in this pub 3 times, not going to be a 4th
