Only problem was they dont take card, cash only

after 2 weeks off holidays, miss their food as still the best, collect them on our way back, all dishes are tasted amazing.

Stopped at the Wharf mooring, and we've just enjoyed a fantastic Chinese meal, at this takeaway. Ready for collection in 15-20 mins, piping hot, and plenty of it. The spring rolls are enormous. Good food, Good service, will definitely call again. Thanks 👍

We have used this local Chinese for years, but there appears to be a change in the kitchen. The front of house is definitely new and the food is prepared differently. Tried a few meals recently but was disappointed, so I will go back to Dorridge in future. Shame as completion is reduced as all 3 takeaway Chinese options in Knowle are closed.

Third time I've asked for the price on order and been charged more on pick up, more of a pain since as they deal in cash only (only one reason for that in this day and age) Then to get your food slung at you through a hatch and the door slammed in your face like a dingo dollar challenge, I don't think they appreciate their customers. Will take my business elsewhere from now on.

Unfortunately this is my local Cantonese. Cash only in this day and age rings alarm bells. And when you confirm a price they charge you differently on collection, Has happened on a few occasions. Food is ok.

Had two chicken curries from here yesterday and they were disgusting and couldn’t be eaten. Definitely didn’t look or taste like chicken! Had I not lived so far I’d have returned them.

Have some friends over and pop and idea for Chinese dinner, ordered for 7 of us , foods are amazing, satisfied all of us, worth the price,especially the noodles and rice dishes, crispy chicken and beefs. Thanks for the chefs.

Didn't think seeing the chef smoking out the back would affect my order, but I was wrong! Rice tasted like an ashtray. Never again.

King Prawns with Thai sauce .....excellent would recommend......

1st time weve tried this takeaway 2 dishes king prawns in thai sauce my husband said it was really nice I had crispy chicken and chose the sweet and sour sauce with it, It was lovely but ive never ever had sweet and sour sauce from a cantonese without chunks of pineapple in so i really missed that and odd just having a plain sauce, we will definately go there again It is cash only and my husband wasnt given his receipt which should always be given to customer to know that its going through the till properly and not cash in hand

Called in for evening dinner on Friday night, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent and served piping hot and without any undue waiting. Very reasonably priced and good value. Will definitely visit again.

Visited here about a year ago while staying at the nearby Premier Inn, the food that time was bland and dry. As we were staying at the Premier Inn again we decided to go there again. The food this time was absolutely lovely. We had chicken chow mein, egg fried rice, 2 lots of chips & 20 chicken balls for approx £25 . 3 adults & 2 children were happy & full up . Just remember they only accept cash.

Been going to this take out for months now, pretty nice food and the staff was friendly and helpful. My go to is the sweet crispy shredded chicken, the sweet and sour sauce is superb. I usually just park outside and go the cash point at co-op next door to withdraw some cash. Good place to grab some food in the area.

Ordered pork chow mein and sweet crispy shredded chicken for dinner, the food came out pretty fast. They receive cash only, there is a cash point in the co-op next to the store, which is quiet convenient. The food taste pretty good, will definitely recommend to a friend.

I ordered the chef's special Cantonese chicken and the sauce was way too sour. The rice was nice but it was not included in the meal so you need to pay extra. They taking only cash or bank transfer.

Was recommended by a friend, so gave it a try very impressed, portion size good, king prawn chow mein excellent very tasty, and curry good too, pleasant staff also, would definitely recommend.

Was visiting a friend nearby and we ordered for collection. Food was great and a decent sized portion. Also not too expensive, will order again when i'm in the area.

Visited whilst on a narrow boat holiday and from the reviews the locals are happy but I can only imagine they don’t have much choice?. If my local family run (Lancashire) Chinese was next door this place would be out of business in a week. Chinese vegetables are fresh and varied but you would need to be bugs bunny to find this selection of carrots and other small bits appetising. Kung Po chicken very average source with lots of carrots.

The first thing to be aware of is that this establishment only takes cash which with the current pandemic isn’t good I don’t know of any other eatery now that doesn’t offer contactless payment, I guess the HMRC would be a bit suspicious of this. Anyway onto the food, I went for the crispy chicken which was very crispy and not a lot of chicken my other half went for the Chow Mein which was okay but a bit greasy.

Food quality is terrible. Just called the manager and he stated the chicken is 50% water. Used to enjoy this place but this will be the last time I go.

The food here is truly excellent. The dim sum alone constitute a small meal and the chicken noodle soup actually contains large chunks of chicken. Can't wait to explore the rest of the menu.

Always used this Chinese religiously, always did the best sweet crispy shredded chicken. Note the word did. Now “improved recipe” means it’s crispier but less chicken if any at all and now has a taste of burnt through out and salt. To the point I had one piece and it was vile. I wasted money on it and it’s not like I can turn back and complain as I live in the cotswolds and visit family. I won’t be coming again now as I have been put off and it didn’t even have new recipe on the menu like everything else did.

I've had some bad experiences with chinese before so don't tend to order but we've just moved to the area so thought we would try it, we ordered on the phoneand we collected to have at home, we had some lovely dishes the duck in particular was amazing along with the chow mein, will be ordering again!

Honestly the best Chinese I've ever had. I love giving places poor reviews and I honestly couldn't fault it. Fully fully recommend

Haven’t used this takeaway for a couple of years as it has been consistently disappointing but after a long day thought I would give them a second chance. Ordered spare ribs with chilli & salt but when I opened the container I was very disappointed to find a small amount of chopped up pork ribs and a lot of onions. If you take the gristle/bones and onions out of the equation you are paying £6 for a tiny bit of pork which, as we all know, is not that expensive to buy anyway. Can’t see this business turning over a big profit as what percentage of their customers are regulars? I won’t be supporting it!

You do need to appreciate that the takeaway only takes cheques or cash. Very unfair of some people to give it 1/5 on the basis that it doesn’t take credit or debit card!We are regular users of this local family run takeaway. We have never had a bad meal and think the food and menu are excellent. Great Chinese curries!

Really great food lovely set menu. Been eating here for over 10 years and my family has never been disappointed.

Firstly please note they only access cash or cheques. The chicken is of very poor quality, it looks and tastes like it has been pumped up with water. The beef is like slithers of chewy fat and there was a large fish head in our food, I know they may use them for stock but I do not want it in my food. With other take aways delivering from Dorridge we now use this option

My and the wife’s favourite Chinese take away We travel past a number of other take always to go here. Great tasting food. A little more expensive than others ... but worth it.

Extremely interested in what goes into their cooking, Kam Shun have the best ingredients, definitely without MSG or other strange stuff !Resulting in fresh and very tasty oriental food at the time specified or delivered.What more can you ask for ? Oh, free prawn crackers !Enjoy.

Sorry for the not so positive feedback - the staff were friendly the food was really horrible. Duck was dry and tasteless and the chicken chowmein a disaster. Will not be coming back.

We are in 2017 and this place doesn't have a PDQ machine! So I ordered my food, got told to walk down the main road to the 'One Stop' shop to get cash back - I didn't need anything, but would've had to purchase an item to get cash back......... the place was closed, so I walked back to the Chinese to explain this - The lady then informed me I could walk the other way to the local pub to get cash back there (yet again purchasing something I don't need)!!!!! I got a few steps into my walk and thought 'who is the idiot here???' They want my money and my business, but I am the one running around to different business to give them my cash!!!! GET A PDQ MACHINE - I will not set foot in this place again unless they sort this out, I don't care how good the Chinese food may be - I will travel further, for someone who clearly doesn't have an issue with credit card machine readings!!!!

The Kam Shun is a very busy takeaway, which always provides good quality and value. Ordering by telephone prior to turning up is always advised.

We had freinds over for dinner,as they did not know what time they would arrive from Bristol we decided ti have a take away. What a choice we made, the food is completly as you would expect to have in a restaraunt in any big city venue The menu is comprehensive and all disches were stunning.

Had a takeaway from there last night very good service and food. The price was ok for a Chinese takeaway but they should do more offers especially on collection.

This place has not got many reviews on here. Which made me nervous visiting. However we had take away, plenty of food to go round. We had a set meal, which easily did 4 of us with some leftover. It was tasty and well cooked. Simple

Fantastic food! The best chinese we have had for years! And as the dishes are in foil trays we could pop them in the oven to keep warm - as being on a narrowboat we dont have a microwave. Would definitely go there again!

Great food and friendly staff. Loses a star for terrible parking. Not really their failt but when you try and collect a meal for six or more and you have to park half way down the road it's a pain in the rear

Surprised I cannot find this gem on Trip advisor. It is purely a takeaway but what a takeaway! Fantastic value and great food/taste
