All you want from a tradional pub ..and more. Great food coupled with great service. Atmosphere lively. Loved it.

Just back from a quick meal in the lean to part of pub as told all inside tables were booked (despite in the 45 mins we were there they were empty ) Asked for heaters to be on but told they would if they knew how to do it !! £46 for meal and drink was reasonable, food was ok but table next door I( 6 guys ) made so much noise we couldn’t hear ourselves speak,so left feeling cold and very underwhelmed. Pity as we came with friends to shanty festival and had a great time. Perhaps we should have stayed in the bar at the white horse where we were staying !!!!

Loved this place! We had a quick pint of the delicious Shantyman and Oystercatcher ales and took out food from the menu, which was very enjoyable when we got back to our accommodation. Service and atmosphere was also very good.

After pre booking a meal here twice I sadly have to say I was disappointed. On the 7th October The so called peppercorn sauce that I ordered with my steak was in fact a red wine gravy. The sticky toffe pudding for desert was burnt. It was my friends birthday and she was disappointed and we were treated like total outsider's. If you are thinking of visiting my advice would be choose somewhere else. 😔 I wouldn't recommend being a stranger because you are then not allowed to eat in the restaurant area.

We turned up on a Monday expecting nothing special … but our evening surpassed itself and was delightful. Really good pub food, fairly priced, helpful serving staff and a great atmosphere. The place was packed. And the entertainment (sing-along sea shanties) was superb. The shanty men clearly loved what they were doing and their joy was infectious. All in all a great couple of hours. “I’m a pirate 🏴‍☠️” … if you go, you’ll understand!!

Fantastic afternoon at The Sea Shanty weekend

Had a wonderful Shanty Festival afternoon there with friends. Always a warm welcome, great food and atmosphere, despite the crowd, the staff coped wonderfully.

Had dinner here on 23rd September. Pizzas were great. Service was really quick and friendly. Atmosphere was fun. Had dinner on sea shanty night and Nelson's Shantymen were excellent. Best surprise was the great selection of rum, around 30-40 rums to choose from. Update, went back on 26th. Ribs were also great!

Fabulous, simple food and good value.

Had a couple of evenings here this week as we always do when in Norfolk. The staff are amazing, however busy they are they really go above what is expected of them. The outdoor bar is great and service is so quick even when busy, thank you all.

Awesome experience for us! Whilst initially you look at the food prices & it raises an eyebrow - once it arrives & you experience it, you realise that every penny was justified, & more. Do we have a Michelin chef & their team hiding away from the World - in humble Brancaster? Even based on a burger & fish & chips - execution was fantastic. The burger was proper gourmet territory, for example. I made a point of going to the back & shaking one of the chefs' hand. Atmosphere was super-friendly - & it being super dog-friendly did not impinge negatively on our experience at all. This place was the icing on the cake - what with Brancaster beach itself being quite the hidden gem (shhhhh).

Excellent rums, good beer, fabulous food. Best place in Brancaster with great staff and placed next to the harbour. Highly recommended!

We stopped off for lunch here whilst on a brief camping holiday. what a lovely place. Atmospheric interior, a decent choice of local beers on offer, great food reasonably priced (for Norfolk!) and friendly staff. the highlight for me though was the garden. Popped out for a crafty ciggie and was hit by some of the most beautifully mellow music I've heard in a long time. It turned out that it was one of the girls working behind the bar's 'morning playlist' think Mazzy Star, Alice Phoebe Lou etc. and coupled with the gaily coloured beach hut type serving hatches at the bar and the slate grey sky created one of those holiday memories that stick in your mind for some reason. Brilliant place and I'd love to get my hands on the full playlist! :-)

One of the best pubs/ restaurants I’ve been to. Excellent service, great value for money food. Coastal location and dog friendly. Well worth a visit.

It was a lovely experience. The staff was friendly and the food tasty. For the standards of England, good balance between quality and money.

Lovely friendly pub, we were introduced to it a few years back when visiting family locally, always try to pop in when we’re in the area. Good choice of beers and food and a nice place to relax after a days walking, dogs welcome as well.

The Jolly Sailors Pub in Brancaster is a classic, 18th-century inn with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It's a great place to enjoy a pint of local ale, with a good selection of Brancaster Brewery beers on tap. The food menu offers classic pub fare with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. The pub also has a lovely beer garden, perfect for soaking up the sun on a summer's day.

We discovered this place whilst on holiday a couple of years back and returned this year - still as great as ever. Food very good and service quick, especially considering it was very busy in the sunny weather. Nice garden and dog friendly and there is a children's play area. Just a nice friendly atmosphere all round. Great selection of local beers and nice ice cream, which went down well with our son (the ice cream, not the beer: the grown-ups appreciated both!). It was also handy being able to purchase a gift set of beers from the local brewery for presents.

The staff were friendly, the beers were good and the food was really tasty. I was presantly surprised.

Nothing particularly special about this place. Food was average, with some items unavailable. The mash potato was terrible, like a puck of mush that could be lifted up in one solid piece. Service reasonably good though, staff were friendly and helpful and seemed genuinely disappointed by the food issues.

Brilliant food and a welcoming atmosphere as always - also a great place for families and even dog-friendly!

Lovely outdoor garden, great food, beer (non-alcoholic on this occasion as I was the driver) and friendly service. Even the umbrellas on the tables are big enough to keep the rain off you…

We had a Greek salad v good I would have liked some granary bread with it then it would be complete.

Ate dinner in the Garden. No table service so have to queue up to get drinks each time and the same with ordering food. Staff are very friendly and helpful. My Steak was over cooked and at £23 I would not expect that. Would still go again though.

Stopped at this pub on a very wet day ,it was Sunday and we wanted too eat dinner ,my husband suggested I have the steak as I enjoy a steak at home ,he had gammon one of his favourites both served with chips, I had a peppercorn sauce ( a little too salty for my taste though ) while we waited the waitress was collecting drinks from the bar for her customer when accidently the tray slipped and the poor waitress was drenched with beer sitting behind her it missed us but people in the area around the bar saw it all poor girl there was quite a loud cheer & laughter ,poor girl she turned around soaked through !!! A dry t shirt and in minutes she was back serving ,our meals came my steak was at least an inch thick cook medium rare how I like it ,with chunky chips peas and roasted cherry toms ,Len really enjoyed his lunch too ,we both enjoyed our meals and the floor show ,also a great place if you have dogs and children as they were made very welcome and I saw it at least 3 tvs out in the other side of the resturant were customers watched the grand prix

The food was okay, the atmosphere was probably what anyone would expect on a Sunday afternoon. It's very busy and seems to be very popular as it was full. Good drinks on tap.

Been camping for a week nearby and have visited the pub four times, twice to eat. Pretty good pub fare, nothing fancy at a reasonable price. Beer and wine nearer London prices but cheaper than the White Horse down the road. Recommend booking tables if eating which is easy online. Service was very quick and easy. Visited on a Monday night when the Shantymen were singing which was good fun but pub was very busy. Plenty of parking, gents a bit basic but all good. We will be back.

Found this place after a visit to Brancaster Beach. What a fab place, lots of seating indoors and outdoors with a bar 🍸 outside. Atmosphere was great eating outside in the sun with music on, only thing missing was a pool but can't have it all I guess! Good sized car park and reasonably priced.

Nice pub to pop into after walking the dog on the beach. Beer garden was busy but that's to be expected when the weather was excellent. Can't really comment on the food as we only had nachos and chips. Nice selection of drinks and very dog friendly.

Initially when we walked up to the pub we were unsure, however, how wrong we were! What a cracking pub, great service, great food and a really lovely beer garden. High recommended.

Lunch on the way to our holiday. Lovely country pub with indoor and outdoor dining. Sitting in the garden on a hot summer day with beer and lunch with no pressure. Really pleasant and good choice of food. Is really dog friendly inside and out, seems almost every table had a dog with it!. Well worth a stop.

Went there as for a bite to eat and to watch the euros as they were showing the football there. The food and service there was very quick and friendly despite being very busy. And their beer and rum selection was very good there too. I will definitely be returning.

Massive lovely garden out back, nice pub. Pizza was great Come on Monday evenings to hear the shanty sailor singing which is worth visiting for alone.

Great location for live music!! Our band, Lounge Lizards, was treated well, and the sound and stage team were fantastic. We can't wait to return!! Update (15 Jun 24): such a great atmosphere!! The beer festival crowd rocked the entire night, and the energy was unreal. The sound on and offstage was crystal clear, and we loved the lights and smoke machine. This place puts on a great festival. We can't wait for our next performance!!

Great food. Great service. Go! It will be busy, but rightly so. Family friendly too. The feeling you get, as well as good food and service, is a warm and friendly place where friends and family gather together for some very good quality pub fare. Excellent.

10 people in our party, including 4 children, we all had a lovely meal and thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here .We will be back next year when we are staying nearby again.

After a visit to the beach we called in here for lunch in the pub garden. The service was excellent but the food very mediocre.

We sat in the garden on a lovely sunny afternoon but unfortunately the food was below average and expensive for what it is. £16.50 for burger and chips. Bread was falling apart. Loud music outside playing pretty booming tunes more suited for a rave. Looking at other reviews for burgers,this one looked quite different. maybe just a bad day and we all have one of those?

We popped in for an evening meal today, my husband had Gammon & I had the veggie curry. Sadly the food was very average for the price, pretty basic & none aspiring. Won't eat be returned.

Does gluten free however far from coeliac safe, communication is poor between staff and I didnt actually end up eating with my family there. Everyone else's food was ok.

Ordered a gluten free curry as they said it would come without the popadom after explaining it’s a very serious Gluten ALLERGY not just an intolerance. When it arrived it had the popadom on top of the curry. Asked the waitress if it was GF and she said she would double check with the chef and she returned saying it was. Ate some of the curry and she then rushed back out saying that it wasn’t GF and to stop eating it! After ruining a family meal with six adults and a child, one free soft drink was offered as an ‘apology’. The Jolly Sailors has extremely poor communication between staff, gross negligence towards their customers allergy needs and needs to be held accountable for the health risks they place upon the customer.

We visited at the beginning of April, and had the worst experience. Staff: To begin with 75% of staff were rude and appeared to not want to be working there, they appeared to be trying to rush people to order food and not communicate with each other about what stage tables were at. There were 1 or 2 lovely younger staff members who were kind, but not the case for everyone. Food: my husband had fish and chips which tasted off, and the replacement fish brought wasn’t much better. Paying the bill: I was brought the bill and hurried into paying in before even looking at it, resulting in me paying for another table instead of ours!! Would not return and would avoid. Claims dog friendly, but no offer of water bowl and bringing other groups to the table next to us despite it being an empty restaurant…

Called in for a meal on the off chance. Not busy late afternoon/early evening.

We have enjoyed meals in the past at the Jolly Sailors but had not been for a couple of years and we were disappointed by our visit. The dining room was cold, I never took my coat off. The service was extremely prompt we had been seated for about five minutes and our food arrived. This is great if you need a quick turn around but did not feel like we were in for a relaxed evening. The menu has fewer ‘smoked’ dishes and was much more standard pub food with an emphasis on pizzas. Our meal (smoked pulled pork burger and chips) was perfectly nice. We were in and out in 40 minutes due to the very quick service, the cold dining room and the fact there was a large party of children who were very noisy. The waitress that brought our bill at our request could only be described as rude and unfriendly! We won’t be rushing back.

Stopped for lunch after our walk at Holme. Very Friendly service. Had the Jolly Fiorentina pizza and the Beef & Marrowbone burger - both absolutely superb. Best burger and pizza we've had in yonks. Super dog friendly too Great pub!

Food was Delicious good Size of for the Adults food but the Kiddies meal was a Big size(pizza) too much for one toddler to finish up.Anyways it was Mother's Day and Free Champagne for all Mother's whoop whoop!!!!

We popped in for Fish & chips after a gorgeous dog walk on Brancaster beach a mile and a half away. Food was delicious- a jug of smokehouse prawns and 2 x fish & chips were some of the best we’ve had. We also loved the oyster catcher ale 🍺 Best of all they were super dog friendly including understanding of our nervous rescue dog. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. We went at about 4pm to avoid the busy time and it was starting to fill up as we left. Recommended. Thank you 🙏

Nice place to stop off at on a walk. Ales were good, food was very nice (lunch time baguettes), seemingly unhappy bar staff were a small let down, leading to difficult interactions at the bar, affecting not just our party, I might add. Very interesting gents toilet. Worth a visit again though.

First time we had pizza they were the best pizzas I can remember ever having. We had the local mussels on the second visit they were amazing very large portion. Dogs very welcome. Service very friendly and helpful despite being very full very fast. Highly recommended.

Another fabulous evening in a proper pub, no pretence just what you see is what you get! Great mussels, fabulous beer, always a cheery welcome from a great staff team. Really enjoyed this place, and despite them having run out of the my chosen meal the substitute was fine. The staff were very friendly and patient with us.
