Wonderful venue. Great service.

Greetings were polite and friendly, sampled a beer, and then asked about the peppers in the Thai dishes. We all should know by now, that this Mediterranean vegetable has become somewhat of a bulking food for so many prepared foods. It keeps it's colour and texture and is cheap to process. However I have yet to find a Traditional Thai that uses it in their food. The starters were okay, sticky squid, batter was very heavy, obviously not a rice flour or tempura base but tender. But when my Weeping tiger came out, oh my. Swimming with water and wait for it, over cooked cauliflower, broccoli and onions that looks like they had been steamed. I was expecting a sizzling skillet of unctuous tender beef in a spicy sauce. Nope slice cold and the sauce in a ramakin, as I said water flooding the skillet. They had forgotten my 89 yr old Fathers order, so we had to wait for that. My sister's pad Thai, not a single bean sprout, water chestnut, no coriander, or even a green bean. Carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, again over cooked , and this made the dish wet. Dad's stir fry turned up, another disappointment. If you think I am being over fussy. We are out last night, not a thing left on our plates.

The food was good. Service once we were sat down was good. I didn't find the place one bit disabled-friendly. I didn't see any accessible toilets. They may have been there. Absolutely no disabled parking near the entrance and all gravelled. Not one bit wheelchair friendly. Food was good. Service is quite good. Disappointed by the distinct lack of accessibility for disabled people. It took from the whole experience. Tables and angles from the garden to bar were too close. Needs attention re becoming disabled friendly. A real shame . Also a tad on the pricey side but food was well cooked and all of us had empty plates

Really liked this pub. Driven past many times but had no idea how nice the pub and garden eating area is. Very reasonable prices. Pub food and a Thai second menu. All very tasty and authentic. Great service from all staff. Well done guys, had a great experience here

Recommended by a colleague so we had a meal for 7 of us. Cant say anything negative. Superb place, lovely decor, friendly staff great atmosphere and totally amazing food. Huge outdoor area. Really really great place. Personally had chicken satay and kao pad. Absolutely superb. Others had weeping tiger looked amazing and sizzled a lot....

We came here for a meal last Sunday and the food was absolutely top drawer, the best pub food we have had for a while. The service was excellent and everyone was very helpful and welcoming which all made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The garden looked fantastic in the late afternoon sun with all the beautiful flowers. Very impressed.

Great setting with golden oldies playing in the background. First time here and had the sizzling steak. Will definitely recommend it and will be back soon to try a Thai curry.

New to the area,having a drive round and spotted the gorgeous array of flowers in the pub garden!, popped in for a nosy😆instantly impressed, beautiful garden, with beautiful flowers with buddahs in the middle, loved it! Plenty of parking, big garden where the kids can play footy, inside was just as lovely, very colourful with lanterns and umbrellas on ceiling, was informed by staff, they have live music on Saturdays and have various activities during the week, i hot footed out and popped back with family, pub was very busy, but staff were very attentive and friendly, good service, great menu with Thai food, and classic British pub food, we all had food from the Thai menu which was superb, met the Landlady who was very charming, who in my opinion has done a remarkable job on the pub, well done! Highly recommend, will be back

Visited for the kid's jam session in the garden and a pint of bitter which was nice

Lovely setting, lovely food, lovely staff. Not much more to say really. Sadly I don’t live near by, I was visiting my daughter in the area. We all loved it, needless to say we will be back when I am here on future visits. I don’t expect she will wait for my visits to go here again though.

Sunday roast ordered yesterday and was ok but nothing special! Waited over 45 minutes for a dessert that we had to chase up twice! To say my apple crumble & custard was nuked to the same temperature as the Sun is an understatement! Waited good 5 minutes before attempting first bite and Burnt mouth really bad so couldn’t eat anymore! Told staff when paying bill and not even an apology they were just more interested in taking our money! Won’t go back there again, awful service and mouth still raw today!! …. Don’t even answer their phone 🤷‍♂️

This pub has transformed under the current owner and management with a great beer garden with plenty of seating covered and uncovered and often has regilar live music in the garden. A great place to come and visit with a family friendly atmosphere. The owner continues to have big plans for the pub moving forward

A good pub for good ale (Timothy Taylor plus three other cask beers) and food, especially Thai food. I tried the lunch menu which is good value and although looking a little small when it arrived was filling and good and spicy.

This place had amazing thai food.the staff are amazing. live music dancing after dinner we really enjoyed.. Highly recommend 👌

Love this pub, beautiful garden, great food, but then they decide to turn the garden into a disco with music blaring at 6pm when people are trying to chill in a great setting with a couple of beers.5 stars if I did not have to go through the euro disco experience!!!

The place has got lovely setting and food was decent. However, the service was a total turn off. Horrible I would say. We ordered for drinks and it took 10-15 minutes to be served. Requested for a glass of water for the kid and we had to request it three times with different person’s. The last time we requested the guy checked his tab and told that it has been placed on his tab and just walked away with a sarcastic smile. We waited for around 20 mins for water and then left the place without it. We had been visiting pubs regularly and this was the only bad experience we faced so far. It would not take much to take down this lovely place by this worst staff they have employed. They did not forget to charge 10% service charge on the bill. Also attached the picture of the wonderful reply from the owner😀😀 Moral of the story, visit only if they are not busy and the place is empty or else you won’t get attention and service.

The pub has a nice garden and a covered area, so plenty of space for kids to play, no covered area to watch the kids, so be prepared to sit out on the open on bad weather days. The food was lovely both thr Thai and English dished we ordered. The main meal order was quick and efficient, but deserts took 30m and were clearly forgotten, it was meant to be table service, but clearly understaffed waiters and poor training lead to me having to go to the bar to order the deserts. It doesn't take 30m to prepare 2 bowls of ice cream Lovely pub, but ashame staffing levels and training let it down.

Great food, great staff and a lovely feel to the venue. Highly recommend.

Good was ok. Only the one staff member in so a little slow. The pub was cold so had to ware a coat in the place. Good car park.

We used to like the Thai food at Emmbrook Inn and missed it last year. I believe the chef has moved to this place. We enjoy Thai food very much here. Their Tom Yum soup should be the best around Reading areas. (Same taste when I travelled around SE Asia) Another soup, non-spicy, "Tom Kha" is also very nice. Very friendly and helpful staff. Relaxing and warm vibe. We will visit more.

Warm welcome, delicious food and wonderful staff. Has a great outdoor area too. Was too busy enjoying the food so only got one piccy of the soup to start.

A large group of 14 went. The service was great. We all loved the food. It was absolutely delicious. We all had the Thai menu. Kids meals were great. Will definitely go back when I'm the area.

My beef massaman curry was tough as leather. Other grub there looked great though. My bad choice. Attentive and friendly service.

Totally unexpected slightly quirky but authentic Thai pub/restaurant, great value and pleasant chatty staff.

Just popped in for a light bite both of us had the Tom kha soup. Our server B, was really helpful and friendly. Beautiful outside area. **** Update**** Took my wife for dinner tonight and what a stark shock and disappointment. Not even half a bowl of soup this time, lots of lemongrass floating around in my Tom kha, My wife's Tom yam was cloudy and flavourless. The Tom yam I am used to is a clear hot sour soup not this muddy looking offering. Prawn toast was thick bread and very very thin prawn mixture on top. Brown in colour and not at all pleasant. Looks like it was rushed and definitely no love in the dish at all. Tempura prawns are actually butterfly shrimp in panko breadcrumbs??? I had a minced chicken main course dish which was so full of chillies It wasn't really enjoyable, no sign of any herbs. My wife had a mixed seafood dish which was tiny mussels, rubbery calamari and overcooked prawns. Super spicy but lacking in flavour. Our drinks came full of ice ( so less drink) in small glasses. I feel totally ripped off and will never be returning. £76 + service charge. Is an absolute joke. £85+ for two Shocking misrepresentation of Thai food

Very eclectic menu, my curry was pretty average and almost £20. One of my companions has scampi and pronounced it excellent. Service a bit slow even though we ordered ahead.

We had a lovely Thai meal at the jolly farmer. The food was so hot when served, we actually had to let it cool a little before eating, this had not been sat on the pass getting cold at all, and was full of flavour. Generous portions and the waiting service was fantastic. Our waiter was able to answer all/any of our questions and was refreshingly knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients used. He was also very friendly and took the time to make general conversation with us and other tables which made us feel very welcome. All in all it was a lovely dining experience in a nicely decorated, clean pub. Unfortunately the weather was too cold to enjoy the beer garden which looks as though it is newly refurbished but from our experience on this visit, we will definitely return in the summer if not before to enjoy more food, drink and a pleasant atmosphere. **Update** Just popped in for a quick bite at lunch time and I'm happy to say that a year on from my last review and standards have not changed here. We have actually eaten here a few times over the past year and the staff are always friendly and the food is so flavourful, you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. Fast becoming my restaurant of choice in the area.

Great food, they are often large meals. They serve authentic Thai cuisine and have an English menu. Great staff and regularly host events, particularly in the summer. Lots of seats available particularly outside.

Went for a mid-week recently as we had been recommended. The recommendation did not disappoint, the Thai food was AMAZING! The staff we really friendly and helpful and it was lovely to chat with both Leonie and Aaron who served us and served us superbly (thank you both). We shall definitely be back, and very soon.

Lovely Thai food and pleasant staff

Popped in for a meal yesterday Eve. Firstly lovely place inside and out, very clean and all staff very welcoming. The Thai food was amazing very flavourful, definitely good for sharing. Had the squid for starters which was perfectly cooked and the talay with a side of roti and some "borrowed" jasmine rice from my brother 🤣) which was spicy and tasty and the roti was perfect for soaking up the sauce. Rest of the family really enjoyed theirs too. We had a few problems with the kids mains, but you quickly sorted that, so thankyou(only reason for the 4* on food otherwise it would have been 5* across the board) The Thai food we ate, was incredible and we really enjoyed all of it. Quick shout out to Connor who was great and definitely an asset he quickly dealt with our issues and served us with good humour. There was also a young lady that I didn't catch the name of but she dealt with my nieces brilliantly👍 Would recommend for service alone, and the food definitely isn't half bad 😁

There is a good selection of Thai food and roast. The garden is spacious with a cosy/homely feel. A good venue of family gatherings.

We've only been for Sunday lunch as we're not from the area. The food and the service were amazing. We'll hopefully be back, next time we're in the area.

A little bit chilly to be outside.

Lovely early dinner with family. Booked the previous day and we had an outside booth in lovely September sunshine. We all had something different mostly Thai menu .There was a grassy area where kids could kick a football about which was really nice while adults relaxed.

Lovely pub with Thai and traditional pub food. Three adults and two 10-year-old boys, who are picky eaters. The service was excellent. Really attentive and was able to customize kids’ meals. Couldn’t do enough for us. Food was great. Adults had Thai, very good and kids went with a fusion. All of us really enjoyed the whole experience. Would certainly recommend.

Six of us called in for a roast dinner on Sunday. Big mistake !! Very expensive for the quality of the food. Roast potatoes were missing from my plate and when I received them they were cold. Yorkshire puddings were flat, rubbery and warmed up. We had one guest with allergies and Yorkshires and veg was all she could eat and therefore went hungry. Definitely will not be calling in there again.

Been here twice before but today was terrible, the service was a joke! Waiting ages & were bought mains and desserts without cutlery. When prompted cutlery took ages and food became cold. Didn't ask to have it replaced due to the delays in getting the food. We won't be going back anytime soon, a shame as past experiences have been great.

This place is incredibly nice on a hot day with its outdoor seating, named in Thailand cities (nice idea) and quirky toilet joke photos. It's a very nice and affordable place to have Sunday lunch or afternoon beers.

Wow, wow, wow! Simply amazing food and very good service! Having visited Dinton Country Park and feeling fairly hungry, my family and I decided to try The Jolly Farmer pub. Now the first thought we had was that a pub does normal pub grub but has an extensive Thai menu also, so really had no idea what to make of the place. When we parked up, the garden area and surroundings are stunning, and the pub is very inviting. We were sat outside in the Bangkok area and having only returned from Thailand and Bali less than a month ago, was hesitant about trying Thai food in a pub once you've had the real authentic food in Thailand. Nevertheless, we all ordered various dishes such as the spring rolls, gyōza, tempura, etc and ordered various Thai curries. The starters were excellent, hot, tasty and the service very quick. This made us look forward to our mains and when they arrived, I was simply blown away! My favourite dish in Thailand was the Massaman Thai curry and my wife got that, whereas I had the Penang Thai curry. Both were simply off the chart and you'd not once think you were in a pub, it was completely authentic Thailand when on our taste buds. I urge you all to go here, I am lost for words on how amazing the Thai curries were! Just amazing!

Excellent food , nepallesse food was fab , and chicken pie and Mash amazing home cooked pie , updated review under new management doing a great job under new management Mike the owner was friendly and helpful , has bigger plans going on - amazing food , fab staff , excellent chefs , can’t wait for Xmas party’s , will def book again , had table of 8 very good service , so glad more local great pub and very reasonable

Disappointed with the overuse of sugar/sweetener in our red curries. I did ask the waitress if they use MSG. She didn’t know. She suggested that the sweetness was the coconut milk. I use coconut milk in many of my cooking. I cook goan, Indian and Thai dishes so I know it wasn’t so. Please stop over sweetening your dishes. Shame as it’s pretty local to us

Nice Thai food pub, friendly and attentive owner and staff

Fabulous Sunday lunch, a selection of meats and a vegetarian option all delicious and served with plenty of vegetables. The service is great, very friendly and efficient. We sat outside in the lovely garden which is well organised so that you’re not crowded. They were playing great music at a decent level which still allowed a conversation. Will definitely go back.

A transformed country pub! Amazing food, friendly staff and a beautiful garden.

Staff are friendly, food is nice. Word of warning to families with children. The owner was particularly mean to my 3 year old who was playing by himself with a stick he found in the garden. He aggressively snatched it out of his hand and threw it away. I wouldn't go back here or recommend it to anyone on this basis.

Went for Sunday lunch with guests and family ordered a trio of meats couldn’t tell the difference between beef and lamb ordered extras that didn’t arrive, puddings for six arrived one at a time so one finished and the next arrived after 20 minutes two people were still without theirs and we gave up waiting. All in all a very disappointing experience.

Absolutely incredible food and great service. The menu is huge and so far everything we’ve seen/tried has been gorgeous. If you like a red Thai curry, make sure you try the panang (32), which is delicious. We’ve been back a few times and keep brining back friends/family to enjoy it too - it’s especially nice on good/sunny days with the garden and plenty of space for the kids to play (our son loves bringing a football to play out the back of the big garden)

Such a change to this place. Visited a few years ago and has not been back since due to atmosphere but this is a changed place with great food and atmosphere

On a Friday and they were already closed at 22:15. Still serving 3 tables of customers inside (I’d say over 15 people) but wouldn’t serve someone outside as they had closed their doors. Ridiculous. You’re a pub and state you’re open to 23:00. Get a grip!

One of the best pubs in the area. Excellent service, and very friendly staff. Love this place. They even had staff service in the garden.

This place effortly blends excellent authentic Thai food with a good British pub (and beer!) . Others have tried to do this sort of thing and failed completely. And owners who really care and come round checking you're happy. Good to see a place doing so well in current climate, but it deserves to !

Visited today for a sandwich lunch and was a little disappointed. Appeared to be a bit short of staff and we were not made to feel very welcome. Very pleasant outside seating area but the service was very slow. Forty minutes to wait for two sandwiches is quite unacceptable and then to find the sausage with onion sandwich was served without any onion. No staff visible to point it out so we eat up and left. An automatic 10% service charge added made this a very expensive ‘quick lunch’ and did not leave a very pleasant taste really. Probably won’t be repeating this experience.
