The Jolly Drayman Pub in Gravesham

Thank you the amazing Annette, for allowing me to arrive so late on a Saturday night! I was left in a really crap situation and if it wasn’t for this lady and the staff at gravesend train station I honestly don’t know what the situation would have been for me! So welcoming, could see I was distressed and upset when I arrived and she made the time to listen and talk with me. Room was comfortable too. Again thank you so much for your hospitality

Nice traditional pub! The landlord and bar staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Good beer. Carpets and curtains and super wood panelling. Great place.

We popped in as a group of 8 for a few drinks intending to spend the rest of the evening there. It’s a nice place with a good atmosphere and great live music. We were offended by one of the bar staff, she really was quite rude to us completely unnecessarily and unprovoked. Needless to say, we left early and spent our evening elsewhere.

Well….fun night , some clientele debatable but didn’t bother us . No expense spared on entertainment and experienced staff always appreciated serving efficiently . Pub up the road was a favourite but this has overtaken in my view for sure

I would not recommend this pub to anyone the customer service of the bar staff is disgusting if your face doesn’t fit you won’t get served they speak with rude and will refuse to serve you if you said you was before the person they choose to serve their dress attire is dirty greasy hair and in dirty slippers would not recommend at all god knows what their rooms must look like on appearances behind the bar AVOID AT ALL COSTS

This is always our regular during the winter season cos it's warm inside and the staff are very friendly. The ale is not too bad either! lol

I've been to the Jolly Drayman about five times and had a good time every time - Euros, random pints, beer festival, live music. The owner is really friendly too. We felt at home and the staff have great banter.

We had our daughters’ christening party here recently and had a wonderful time! Annette and Ann worked so hard to dress the function room with nice table cloths etc, and the buffet was really good too with plenty of choice. Took all the stress out of the day, lovely venue and staff. Thank you so much xx

We had our Daughter and Son christening gathering at the Jolly Drayman. Friendly staff that bent over backwards for us, amazing buffet (so much choice) and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this venue, we will definitely be rebooking all our events here. Thanks Annette & Rob

Me and my partner who are both respectable people in our 50s btw tried to frequent the public house but was met by the rudest landlady on the planet in spite of it only being half 9 on a Saturday night with about a dozen tables free we were asked have we booked no was my reply sorry then came the reply seeing my shock THIS RUDE WOMAN actually pulled a face mimicking me the same pub that publicly advertised walk ins with no trade for months u would think some money through the till would be welcome

I stayed for a few weeks on business / pleasure, which turned into a really great experience. Such lovely, lively staff and really welcoming clientele. A particular mention for the house manager, Annette. It's rare to meet such a hard worker and professional person. Good food, good wine and a convivial place to enjoy lunch or an evening drink.

Another fantastic evening, great food as always, and the weather made it feel just like Spain. Looking forward to the next theme night.

We visited for Sunday lunch and absolutely loved it. There were 10 of us, 3 of whom were late but the staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. The food was excellent. It really was, and the value for money was remarkable. With its smart dining room and atmospheric pub we'll be visiting again!

The perfect pub now, after a few years in the doldrums, it is back to its roots. The jazz was the icing on the cake. The beer well kept and affordable. Happy memories of being a regular from the seventies to nineties were recreated.

What a great pub!!! My mate and I went there to have some lunch and a drink, before visiting other places in Gravesend. My friend likes real ales, he loved the Hophead, and we both enjoyed the food as well. The portion sizes were excellent value for money, and excellent quality as well. Staff were really friendly and treated us as if we were locals. I will definitely be returning to the pub, in the near future. A real gem of a pub!!!!

This is a very charismatic pub with good food and lovely, engaging staff. In the summer, you may even be lucky enough to see Morris Dancers perform. Certainly worth a visit if you're going that way to the old fort or the sikh temple.

We stayed for a week and the accommodation was excellent. The landlord and staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The pub and locals are very friendly and there is a good selection of real ales that change regularly.

Always a very pleasant pub to visit for a drink in the evening, with a good choice of ales for sale.

If you have not visited the Drayman for a while I think it's time to go back.! Rob, Annette and the rest of the team have turned this place back into the gem it was once before.

Superb service and excellent meal , try and book up if you haven't already. All the food was fresh, hot and tasty. Try the pub too!

This is one of the best pubs in the area. There's an excellent selection of beers and they've just opened a restaurant with good food at a great price. Always a really friendly welcome from staff. Would highly recommend.
