Fabulous food and staff just couldn’t do enough . Was there for our 25th anniversary Thank you team

All outside tables "full". Would not serve food to empty tables that were reserved for drinks only customers. Crazy.

Great service, great food, lovely atmosphere & dog friendly for the dog lovers. First time here & wont be the last, very nice 🐕😀🍽🍷🍺 Roast beef was outstanding 😋 yum yum.

Went for my Mums birthday, called on a busy Friday night to add people to our table, the girl on the phone was super helpful. When we turned up every single member of staff had a smile on their face, our waitress was amazing (we were sat in the outside dining area, which was lovley) Food was fabulous too, lovely garden for the kids and dog friendly. Win win

Went on a day when no cards were being taken due to fault. Lunch menu very limited didn't like most of the options. Was going to have the steak strip but this was unavailable. Had a burger a bit too pink bur it was good. Staff great.

Had great fun with friends and family here definitely going to visit again as the food was amazing!

Took far too long to be served. When we finally got some table service, then the drinks order took another long while. Portion of food was very small for the price. We will not visit here again.

We really enjoyed Sunday lunch, and the whole experience. The bottomless veg was a great 'extra'. Service and ambiance very enjoyable too.

Absolutely amazing food, with friendly staff and a pretty outside area. Vegan choices were delicious. I've dropped a star as it was unbearably hot when we were there. Please get your air conditioning sorted out so we can come back with friends and family.

Popular venue judging by the speed on which the tables filled during our lunchtime visit on a Monday. Tastefully decorated. Friendly and helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere, our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu, gave us loads of time to make our choices and was happy to provide additional items to the dish selected. The food was freshly prepared and good sized portions. As the restaurant filled up, the noise of conversations increased due to the hardwood floor and surfaces - this isn't a complaint, just an observation from a person who's starting to become hard of hearing. There wasn't any pressure to hurry and we had a thoroughly positive experience. There is a large tarmac carpark to the side of the venue and another gravelled car park to the rear. There is a large garden for outdoor seating and our host mentioned tents. I noticed on the way out bowls containing dog biscuits and water, but I cannot confirm whether they are allowed inside. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the ambiance, but I would advise booking your table, or getting there very early.

Great food. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff all. Wonderful Vegan selection. Needs air conditioning! That is the only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars. As Vegans we still struggle to get a decent meal out, without travelling miles and paying a fortune. We had 3 delicious courses here, at very reasonable prices. Just off the M25 too. Thank you too all staff.

A great pub. Plenty of parking and a warm welcome from the staff. It has a large garden and is kid friendly. Food was excellent and service was quick. All in all a good experience and value for money.

The service by our waitress was 6 start the food was extremely nice . My only complaint is the cauliflower cheese wasn’t cheesy enough, but that’s being picky

My friends and I have just walked out due to the worse service I have experienced. We never managed to get our main and it took a long while to get our starter, needless to say we won't be returning, definitely wouldn't recommend.

This is our favourite place to eat or drink in Upminster. A home from home ! The manager Roger goes above and beyond to make this pub special and he has a great staff behind him. 5 stars

This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last. Food was amazing. I've never had so many vegetarian options to choose from. Service was fantastic. Everyone made sure we had a great time and we felt really spoilt. On top of this it's dog friendly! We were shown to a great table which was out of the way enough that our dogs could relax and not impose on other diners but still in the heart of the pub. We will be back soon!

Very disappointing experience. As a Raymond Blanc gastro pub our expectations were high. Unfortunately the reality didn’t match our expectations. The dining area was tired , dated and in need of a revamp. The food was no better than average. We will not be returning.

We love the Jobbers and go here frequently. The food and service is always great. However we went a couple of weeks ago on a Tuesday evening (6.30) only to be told that quite a few options on the menu had sold out. I found that quite odd considering we weren’t even booked for a late dinner. I ordered The Hake but told it was cod because they had run out of Hake. My partner ordered the steak and ale pie and didn’t come with his tribute taster. My fish dish wasn’t great, there was a measly amount of veg with a watery sauce. Sorry Jobbers Rest, not impressed with this new menu, as we know how good the food has been previously.

Got a drink wrong but was very nice about it

The place is nice, clean etc. The food was lovely..... When it finally arrived. Which leads me to the only real downside. Although the staff were very friendly. The service was very slow. Food took forever, and whilst waiting I had to go to the bar myself to order more drinks. It didn't appear to be a particularly busy evening, otherwise I could have understood. Overall, I would ultimately recommend it here.

Nice cozy place. Haven't tried food yet but definitely will and will update my review. We had some drinks. When we ordered, probably barmen didn't hear properly what I asked, so for my friend gave Peroni instead of Aperol spritz. But it's a simple human mistake, which easily can be fixed. However, my friend kept Peroni, so we didn't have to ask to change her drink :) Overall nice atmosphere. Ladies Rest room was clean and tidy

For the price, I think the menu is great value and with the range of offerings there is something to suit all tastes. Some of the dishes are very good indeed - I go for the fish soup every time - and the cheese souffle always goes down well. We had a couple of glasses of the Picpoul and that was a smashing wine plus the service was very pleasant indeed. It's quite a big dining area and can get busy so we usually opt for a weekday lunch and it's very leisurely then.

The steak was fantastic, plus the pistachio souffle for dessert followed by an espresso martini! - perfection!

Had a really nice lunch here with my parents. Would have preferred a few more veggie options but what I had was good.

Disappointing. Nice atmosphere, but I wouldn't recommend eating there. It wasn't just that the portions were tiny, it was that the quality was awful and mostly tasteless. The staff was very friendly and attentive. When this place changes their food supply and chef, I'm sure they'll thrive

A wonderful family meal in the private dining room of The Jobbers Rest. Beautiful food, attention to detail by the staff and brilliant service. The staff were also great with the children - providing lovely food and activities… and giving new mums support and comfort which was greatly appreciated! The conversation and planning before the event was always good - with staff replying to emails and various questions with care and consideration. We would thoroughly recommend visiting the Jobbers! So happy this as a local gem :-)

Amazing as always! Cosy homely vibes, friendly attentive staff, good food, some dishes overpriced considering portion sizes. Their Pistachio soufflé is always a winner for me. Just a heads up, this is also a dog friendly eatery, but you can always ask to be seated elsewhere. They also have an outside dining area, which is gorgeous when the weather gets warmer, but I also believe they've patio heaters and blankets for cooler periods.

Had sausage salad to start had raw uncooked potato wedge at bottom (not in description of dish)which left to one side, pie for main course, pastry inedible and meat a funny colour. Vomited upon leaving pub. However service was great and wife enjoyed her 3 courses. Maybe I was unlucky.

I recently met up with a friend, who like myself, had recently lost her mother. The waitress was so so lovely and caring. When our 'table time' ran out we were offered another table to continue our lunch. Thank you so much everyone!

Menus tend to be a bit repetitive. However the food is tasty and well presented. Staff are fantastic and service is top notch. There is always a greeting smile when you walk in.

Good bit of grub, Shame it took them 15 mins to get a pint to us because the gas and barrell run out on beer otherwise would have been 5 stars

We were a large family group meeting up to celebrate a birthday. It was very busy being a Saturday lunchtime. Our waitress Rachel was charming, great sense of humour and genuinely interested in making sure we had a good time . All food very tasty. All in all a fun time.

Beautiful food, really reasonable prices. The beer garden is an absolute gem when it's sunny! Great service and love the fact it's dog friendly!

A Wonderful family friendly high-end venue. With an Amazing array of mouth watering dishes to make to you literally sigh ! The dishes are original in description & do not disappoint in look or taste. There are many interesting drinks as well. The staff are friendly, prompt & have impeccable etiquette. The venue is warm & friendly with comfortable seating and a nice atmosphere to put you at your ease. Please try it if you are in the Upminster/Cranham area. Booking in advance is recommended

The Jobber's Rest is my local pub, been visiting there since it became a gastro pub and every time I visit I leave as a happy customer. Food is always delicious, made from high quality ingredients, staff are always happy and cheerful. If you are in the area, pop in for some tasty food and nice atmosphere. I love that The Jobbers Rest is dog friendly too.

From the first hello to the goodbyes on departure we were made to feel very special. A family gathering and we were treated to superb food and excellent service! No hesitation in recommending and will definitely being returning!!

Lovely roast lunch food and service very good but what we didn't like was sitting surrounded by dogs !!! Two large dogs whick barked when another dog went by. Had no idea there were dog areas when I booked think it should be noted on the booking page so people can have the choice if they are not dog lovers

We have eaten here several times as a family, but this year we had our Christmas works do and they were FANTASTIC, nothing was a problem, everyone went above and beyond and they dealt with a large group especially well. Thank you so much!!

Fantastic experience ,my first visit in 38yrs! I booked the table, for my daughter, sister and husband , with a delightful lady, Sophie, who was tremendously helpful and restored my faith in, customer service, her patient, caring approach to a 73yrs old, recovering from a stroke, was exemplary. She assured me, that we would enjoy ourselves ,on the 19th November, which we did and haven't stopped talking about it since.

Prices for main course are reasonable but starters are a rip off, 3 crab and sweetcorn bites, about the size of 1/2 a very small egg for nearly £10 is a rip off, compared to the main course for £20

Went this evening with my partner and some of the family. Food was okay. My sister in law did not like her mains at all. Service was good. Very limited options due to allergy though which is disappointing.

We arrived with no booking on a Saturday about 3pm. Super busy but we managed to get a table for two - in the corner by a window - perfect. Very polite and helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic starters of cheese soufflé and fresh mussels. We both had the herb crusted lamb roulade with dauphinois as the main - all delicious! Desserts of pistachio soufflé and another of strawberry, salted caramel ice cream with blackcurrant sorbet. Hot lattes arrived at the same time as the desserts - amazing! Even though it was very busy the staff were attentive and did not appear stressed. The food arrived hot and without delay. One of our favourite venues in the area. Recommend 100 per cent.

Went for meal with workmates before doing the quiz, thought food was expensive for what it was but presention was good,staff attentive. Quizmaster was entertaining.

Recently re-launched as part of Raymond Blanc's Heartwood Pubs Group. The welcome was very friendly. the pub decor superbly done and the food sublime. Raymond's signature Cheese Soufflé is on the starter list and it really is special. This Al a Carte menu takes pub grub to another level whilst retaining remarkably competitive prices for this fine food.

I’ve seen several ads on Facebook for The Jobbers Rest. Having checked their hygiene rating (5 stars) and many nice reviews, we popped down there for some impromptu lunch. On arrival they provided water & treats for our dog. Made a fuss of her, which was nice. We had duck leg cassoulet, beef & ale pie; followed by apple & gooseberry crumble and a pistachio soufflé. The food was absolutely delicious! The service polite & pleasant. Nice atmosphere and decor. Would highly recommend. Pleasant option for dog owners, which is a rare find. Thank you.

Food and service were really nice however I think charging £2.95 for a soda water is absolutely outrageous!!! ( the lime was £0.25 extra) very greedy and tbh soured what was otherwise a nice lunch
