A very nice meal here, of course it is slightly more expensive than normal as hotel based. Recommended.

Food mediocre. Prawns not deveined so not good for a fish restaurant. Not the best meal for £180

The starter menu looked amazing so we ordered 7 starters as a meal and we weren’t disappointed. The bouillabaisse was incredible.

Lovely staff, high end without being stuffy in any way. Great food with decent portions that ensure you will not want to top up in an hour or so.

Stopped in for a drink and quick snack. Limited menu on a Sunday afternoon. The chicken nuggets were so spicy that I had to ask for some type of sauce to tone them down. There were about 8 very small nuggets in a cup size container. My companion ordered a pasta and it never was delivered to the table BUT was on the bill. I recommend going someplace other than the Jetty. The waiter has limited English skills.

Celebrated my sister’s 30th at the Jetty - beautiful food and brilliant service. We had booked a pod but unfortunately when we arrived our booking had been misplaced. However, the GM Ross made every effort to ensure our night was still special. Thank you very much, great evening !

Birthday dinner which worked out at £75 per head. The cheese soufflé is always perfect but the prawns snd scallops were not the best. The fish and chips were pretty standard, my medium rare steak was chewy and the edges were cold. Both my friend's main courses of risotto and sea bass could've been eaten in four mouthfuls. The desserts were good, sadly I detected a bit of squirty cream in mine, surely not? I hope I was wrong. My husband and I agreed that there was no 'wow' factor with the food. It was disappointing for the price. The service was efficient but very brusque and unfriendly. Particularly one of the female staff who barely smiled when placing our order and when trying to settle the bill between us she just treated us with disdain for wasting her time. (an extra four seconds max). Don't think we'll be back anytime soon. It's a shame as the food in the past has always been up to standard.

Had the most beautiful lunch here, gorgeous view of the harbour from where we sat. Food was delicious and staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend if visiting Southampton

We had a wonderful experience at the Jetty Bar. The whole bar team was friendly and knowledgeable about every kind of cocktail imaginable. Gabriel, the French bartender went over and above to make sure we had the best conversation and service. Until next time…

Frequently visit The Jetty for lunch. I had an outstanding lunch tasting menu recently. The place would benefit from a bit more of a “buzzing” atmosphere - whenever I’ve been it’s usually just been our table and maybe another one or two, though this might be as I have lunch quite early!

Outstanding! After the harbour on 6th let us down they made us up a table last minute and treated us so well. Our waitress was attentive and the manager was very friendly. Lovely food. Thank you!

The worst food I had in the UK by far and most overpriced if the chef was supposed to be good in the past he needs to stop chain smoking because he no longer has a pallet left

Great food and menu. Veggie options. I had the veggie risotto which was nice but them presentation could have been better. One little negative point was that we ordered a gin which was not served in a nice gin goblet or glass and just in a normal 250ml tall glass which detracted from the drink a little. You would expect that a nice restaurant would use nice glasses. Service was a little on the quick side but that was fine for us.

Nothing to brag about. Service was terrible, we were ignored. The food was not good. We did the five course meal. The best part was the deconstructed Caesar salad. Everything else was either very bland or way over seasoned. Not sure how many smoking cooks they have but someone please reset this place's palate!

We hired a pod for lunch excellent service by Catalin the waiter and food was perfect will be returning again to try more of the menu. The pod is well worth doing and also is heated.

I do not recommend this restaurant. We were staying at the Harbour Southampton hotel which we found very good. However, I was very disappointed by their restaurant The Jetty. Overpriced for the food quality/price ratio. My native oysters were inert: the mantle tissue has to retract when touched otherwise the customer cannot tell if the oyster is fresh and alive, that’s very basic. Oysters should therefore not be detached of their abductor muscles when served to clients. Then, my brill was overcooked, frustrating for 30 pound fresh fish.. mastering cooking time for a sea food restaurant is to be expected. Unfortunately, the 15£ discount, which was a good gesture, did not compensate for that experience.

A really nice restaurant staff were great as was the food.

From hotel entrance to restaurant, from restaurant entrance to bar, from bar to dining area, atmosphere are nice and relax. Menu includes prix fixe menu to a la carte, have many choice. The food tasty and delicious with nice plating. Only thing made me upset, the girl who serve our table was rude and not helpful.

I sympathize with other reviews made in the last month to say what a disappointing dinner experience they’d had at The Jetty. A special dinner was booked 4 months ago and they knew this was a Big Birthday celebration. We dined at The Jetty on its opening day 7 years ago and have celebrated birthdays many times since as well popping in for dinner too as was a favorite. Standards, service and atmosphere have dropped significantly. There was no gesture towards recognizing it was a very special birthday on arrival and they knew it was. No good evening and Happy Birthday. Just took us to our table and sat us down. The whole meal was rushed. My main course was a 2 inch square piece of cod with julienne aubergine around it. You have taken my favorite cod with crab crust off the menu. This was a chunky piece of cod with crab, mash potatoes and peas. This alternate cod dish was not anywhere near the quality of the previous cod/crab. To add insult to injury you now have to pay £7.95 for fries to accompany this measly 2inch squared piece of cod which on its own is £30. When I queried the portion size of this ‘main meal’ I was told quite sternly by our waitress ‘that is the normal size for the cod’ after a bit of me saying ‘this is not a main course portion… and her saying this is what we always serve… and me saying this is no where near the chunky cod/crab I’ve had for years she said ‘well I’ll get you more if you like! Which made me feel like I was asking for more than one would expect for a main meal so I declined just to get her away from me for making me feel awful on my special birthday. Our mains were cleared and immediately dessert menus placed down. I asked for a 10-15 minute break before we looked at the menus. About 5 mins later we were asked to give our dessert choices. We felt completely rushed. Nothing felt relaxed. There was large groups in the bar area about to sit down and it just felt like they wanted to get rid of us. We declined dessert and asked for the bill as just wanted to get out. Then a plate was brought to me with what I can only describe as a small dry beige round sponge on it… with. Happy birthday written in chocolate. I guess I should have been grateful that after the awful portion size and awful service I had this. It was, I think a very dry solid piece of banana cake. No cream no garnish. But thanks I guess. Made up for me walking out hungry for a £500 bill. My husband called over the tall lady in a black suit and asked could he speak to her. All she did was flag down another server to come to our table. What exactly is this ladies job title as she looked like a manager/supervisor walking around surveying the restaurant but not doing a lot else. The waitress was disinterested with our comments. So we just left. Wish we’d gone to a local pub now to celebrate which is now much better than the service from The Jetty. Shame on this establishment.

Dinner. Unremarkable food and comically poor service. Literally, the bread was the best part of the meal.

My partner and I had a highly disappointing experience at The Jetty Southampton. I had meticulously planned a birthday surprise, emailing the restaurant through their website to book a pod for our dinner and requesting a bottle of wine upon arrival. Despite receiving an email confirmation, upon arrival, we were informed that our reservation was mistakenly booked at another branch in Christchurch, which we didn't even know existed. To add to the frustration, the pod we had requested wasn't available at this location.The manager's handling of the situation was unprofessional and arrogant, insisting that we pay in advance for the reservation, which was never communicated to us beforehand. The atmosphere was tense, with the manager making us feel like intruders rather than valued customers, despite showing her the email correspondence confirming our booking request.Furthermore, the quality of the food did not justify the high prices we paid. Additionally, the constant interruptions from the waitress asking if we wanted drinks made us feel unwelcome and rushed throughout the meal.Overall, our experience at The Jetty Southampton was a complete letdown, and I would caution others to manage their expectations if considering dining here.

Fantastic fish options and a lovely Sunday roast, would go back any time in Southampton.

We had the 5 course set menu which was good value (just under £40pp) and they adapted it for me as a vegetarian. All the courses were great except for the dessert - it was a shame it was apple souffle as one of the other courses was also a cheese souffle. The savoury one was great but it didn't work as a sweet- it tasted so eggy! However the service was excellent and it's a beautiful setting in there.

Great location and modern decor, food priced to location not to quality. All of that is not unfair what was rubbish was the surly attitude of the server, no welcome, no finesse even placing drinks 1 inch from table edge.. just couldn't be bothered it seems.

My friend and I popped in here tonight on a whim for dinner and we were not disappointed! Ross, Klaudia and the team were so friendly and welcoming from the beginning. We ordered a couple of cocktails and they were just as ashetically pleasing as they were tasty! Levi the bartender really made them 10/10. We ordered the Mini Gastro tasting menu which consisted of 5 courses. Each one was presented so well and tasted incredible. Amazing food and impeccable service. We will definitely be returning!

Superb as per usual. Our first time on the lunch menu and it was fantastic for the price! Hana is just the best waitress. We often just come for drinks of an evening we love it so much here.

Went for Mother’s Day was disappointed with the Mother’s Day menu being overpriced also most places include a small gesture such as a glass of wine /champagne, or flowers . We often come here for Sunday lunch , or birthdays but this time we found the experience a bit underwhelming and over priced.

Fantastic seafood and 5 star service. All staff were so good and the setting was lovely. I highly recommend this and all Jetty restaurants... And Harbour hotels for that matter.

Lovely place and good ambience. Service is great but the food is average and extremely over priced. We had surf and turf which was over £60 each. The steaks were small and one overcooked. We should have sent it back really.

Always an excellent choice for a celebration. The Burns night mini Gastro was first class. The service is excellent. I don’t have to ask for another glass of wine or water top up, they check without intruding. Always excellent at suggesting pairing drinks or celebratory cocktails. And suggesting decaffeinated espresso martini to end the meal was excellent idea, to go with my congratulation treats, which were absolutely delicious. My thanks to Hanele, Christina and Gustavo for making the evening, so special. One suggestion. Some of the drinks deserve prettier glasses.

Shared a Boxing Day meal with family and friends. The service was good. Gave 4 stars as it could have been a smidge quicker. The food was the real star - amazing!

It was nothing special. I booked a meal for my partner in one of their pods overlooking the water. I received a call lunchtime saying the pods are closed due to weather, no apology or offer of another date, just that the staff don't want to be in and out in the rain, which is fair enough but the way it was done was not ok. This left a sour taste in my mouth. We arrived for food. Bear in mind this was for a birthday, there was no happy birthday from any of the staff, no acknowledgement. Bear in mind, people book for special occasions, this is completely diluted by the time the day actually comes, the staff don't really care. You need to be more aware of why people book and what they are celebrating and acknowledge that with people. The starters were lovely, nice and tasty and good portions, but literally 5 minutes after finishing starters the mains arrived. I wanted to sit there for a bit first and digest the starter and enjoy my wine. Speaking of wine, the server came over and kept wanting to top up my wine, I said no. Then another waitress came over to take our plates away, and she poured the rest of the bottle in our glasses. My glass is now 3/4 full . NO! I don't want a full glass of wine, I want to nurse it and pour it over a period of time and enjoy my meal. Tbh it felt like they wanted us out! They clearly wanted to close and get the food and drink completed asap. No one asked how the meal was or if we had a nice time. The cod was very dry and had zero crab on it. Disappointing. We won't be back. Although yes a lovely restaurant, the service let it down. Just can't believe she poured a half bottle of wine into 2 glasses. Food is reasonably priced and overall experience I would say is "ok" , again, nothing special.

Party of 17 for Christmas menu. Some plates of food were nice, others were very mediocre. Not up to scratch for what turned out to be very over priced. As someone has already said, "There's better places to eat for a lot less money." We wont be back im afraid.

Visited on a quiet night with a group of 12. Service was very prompt and friendly. Food all round was great, everyone in the group enjoyed their dishes. There’s a good bar downstairs too for pre-dinner drinks.

I literally couldn't wait to get my phone back from repair to leave this review. The service was fantastic, we were welcomed and seated even though we were a few minutes and the kitchen was basically closing and felt so bad as we kept them in longer than they should have been there. Everything was incredible! But, I have to say my dessert was THE BEST dessert I had. It was a soufflé and I still have an after taste for it. Honestly amazing food and a fantastic venue/service. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back.

Took too long to get our food one hour and a half before we got mains at 4pm Sunday afternoon, that is so bad management needs to get this right.

Very good food, as for a class restaurant

Was disappointed 😞 had been wanting to visit for awhile,so when my husband suggested here for our anniversary i was over moon. But unfortunately our experience wasn't a good one 😕 We choose to sit outside on the deck but there was vert little lighting, so hard to read the menu and bythe time out food finally arrived we struggled to see what we were eating! The time between taking our order and the food arriving was very long and no-one came to say sorry for the wait or anything! In all the service was very disappointing 😞 we won't be returning.

We waited for our drinks for almost 30 minutes. The table wasn’t cleaned. The temperature of the prosecco was too warm.

Great food. Set menu very reasonable. Unfortunately, similar with its sister restaurant, there are issues with service. We seemed to lack a consistent server and as such needed to prompt for drinks, ordering and finally we needed to pay at the bar.

Great reception, l was so impressed by the welcome, and introduction to our waitress. Our starters and deserts were brilliant so tasty and accompanying wine superb. Out surf and Turf main courses were totally let down by the steaks, over cooked, with a livery taste. Normally b we would have sent them back, but we're rushed for time so ate what we could, sadlyvthe meat was quite poor too, very fatty and lots of tough sinews. On one occasion dust fell from the Aircon missing our table fortunatley landing on the floor next to us. I did email the manager via thier website, but got no response, they just don't seem to care, quite poor really.

Had the tasting menu. 5 courses, well cooked, great flavour but some courses (soup and main) diminutive portion sizes. Some ingredients like mussels, potatoes and red mullet are cheap, so why be mean? Won't be going back - there are better places to spend your cash.

Unfortunately over the 4 years that I've been visiting the Jetty the quality has slowly been getting worse (been 4 times -first 2 times which were 3-4 yrs ago exceptional, last 2 not good). I went with my family and had a 3 course set lunch menu which took over 3hrs because service was so slow. The starters were tasty (beef pthivier and cheese soufle) but the main fish was overcooked and bland and all 3 desserts were poor. The apricot pavlova - the meringue was rock solid, the almond cream just tasted like plain cream and the apricots were not stewed or flavoured in any way, the chocolate cremeux dessert the texture was all wrong and just wasn't very tasty and the vanilla cheesecake (though the best of the desserts) was merely average and came with vanilla instead of the coffee ice cream promised. The standard just wasn't high enough for the prices and that will now be the last time going there.

Great place to eat for a special occasion.

We came here for dinner on Monday night but ended up staying at the bar to have endless cocktails and nibbles with the charming barman, Marcio. If you're not that hungry you're not missing much at the restaurant (you've got to be early if you want to catch the Sunday roast - and skip the steak), the bar snacks are excellent and the company+ drinks are second to none. We spent half as much but had twice the fun. Recommended 🥃🍸🍺

Food was extremely mid, especially for the premium prices they charge. Ordered the cheese souffle as a starter, which was pretty decent. Then had the king oyster mushrooms as a main. I got 2 bits of mushrooms (chunks not whole mushrooms) and a plateful of tastless beans. I'd have expected a lot more for the £17 cost of the food. Service, location and restaurant are really nice, It's a shame the food let it down.

This was our second time at The Jetty. The first time we were there everything was perfect. This time the food was acceptable although the service of food wasn’t too good especially when we ordered dry white wine which was served warm, we then asked for a change of wine which we received ice in glass to cool down the wine. We chose a different wine and when they brought it around they told me to see if it was the right temperature. My suggestion is that the manager of the restaurant sends their employees to a training of serving wine. This shouldn’t happen in a restaurant like this unless I am wrong.

This place has lost its sparkle. The food cannot be faulted. Exquisite as it was the last time. However the cleanliness and level of service was less than acceptable for a place that advertised itself at this level. Glass stained tables and stained seats. Most of the staff were competent and correct rather than the warm welcoming people we had experienced in the past. For the money we paid, I don't think we'll be visiting again. The hotel has let it's standards dtop

Scenic restaurant right at the harbour with a beautiful view despite some rain. Great course menu with plenty of wonderful dishes. I especially loved the ice cream dessert at the end with a fun twist. The cocktail was very nice as well.

I would have given more stars but the sirloin steak was average! It could have been a pub meal! There was a lot of fat on the steak too. The desert was average as well but the fish sashimi was delicious. Also we had some vegetarians on our table and we had bread delivered to our table but the butter was taramasalata! We were not advised of this, it was only pointed out when one of my vegetarian friend pointed it out! Not good guys! Also there could have been someone with allergies!

We had a really lovely evening. Wonderful service and delicious food. The setting is idyllic, plenty of choices and amazing flavours. However, it’s very expensive!

Classic and very professional bartenders. New bar menu coming out for summer with some very unique and taseful concoctions. These guys really know their business.

The Jetty has a lovely atmosphere and interior with superb views. The food was incredible, a diverse variety on the new menu and the plating was excellent. I was a big fan of the Cheeky pig and belly starter and the rhubarb sorbet on the deserts menu was fabulous! We visited on a Saturday night and the service was very impressive, friendly and attentive staff - in particular Kristine. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a lovely meal out or if celebrating an occasion. We will definitely return! Thank you to the whole team!

What a lovely experience, the staff are incredibly nice and attentive. It really made me feel welcome there. The view was nice and the restaurant it self is decorated well. We had the mini gastro menu to try a out different dishes and every single one was fantastic, especially the amuse bouche for me, I wish there was more! There's a nice selection of drinks as well. I visited the Jetty last weekend for dinner. I specifically called to check whether the tasting menu needed to be booked in advance and was told it wasn’t. Upon arrival, I was told the tasting menu is not available on Sundays (it was also noted on my booking that I specifically requested the tasting menu so they could have contacted me sooner). We decided to go for the smaller Sunday tasting menu instead. The food was ok, but for a 5 course menu we were there for 3 hours (where we had to ask three times for our dessert). The manager did take a small percentage off the bill for the inconvenience which was appreciated, but overall definitely not the experience I hoped for when booking this restaurant.
