Fabulous day. Great atmosphere. Great company. Brilliant food and super staff. One of the best times I’ve had in a pub with so many friends. The staff treated us like royalty. Have never had such tasty food and the marmite roast potato’s were out of this world. Would definitely return, just need to refresh my wallet as we went a bit over the top.

Cannot recommend this Great British Pub enough for its wonderful Sunday Roast. Perfectly cooked. Meat was tender and served with fresh seasonal vegetables and Jus/Gravy. All served with condiments.Hats off to the Chef !! .Not your standard normal pub lunch. Plus was asked when ordering any dietary requirements There is a separate dining area too. Make sure you give it a try. 10/10

A nice pub that specializes in cottage pies There are several kinds. Staff is friendly and service is quick.Atmosphere is pleasant. Some reviews said it was expensive. We had cottage pie with meat for two people. It came with 3 veggies. Including nonalcoholic drinks it was 54 pounds total for two people. I don't see that as outrageously expensive for London. I recommend it highly.

Nice old fashioned pub, sadly the service was very poor. Despite not being busy the 3 girls were not very attentive, and left tables uncleared. 3 different groups had to go to the bar to pay the bill (myself included) as they hadn't noticed we had finished our meals and come over to offer more drinks or dessert. I had Lamb Roast, sadly the lamb shank was fatty and all bone, again because the staff didn't check in with me to make sure everything was OK, I didn't get the chance to flag this. I really could have done with a 2nd drink, but decided not to wait and bought one in the shop across the road.

A busy well presented pub on London's Tottenham Court Road. It is clean, well looked after and well decorated. No loud background music is a real bonus. There is a very good choice of beers, lagers wines and spirits available. The menu while not extensive offers the usual pub fare and some specials. The food is very good indeed, fresh, nicely prepared and presented, hot and tasty. It's a real plate full as well. We could not fault the service, all of the staff we met were polite, friendly and attentive. Well done guys. Not bad value for money for London, possibly a little above average for this type of pub. Typical English pub with very friendly, helpful staff. Located directly on Tottenham Court Road and rustically furnished. This pub also offers restaurant food, which is not common at all pubs. Since my English skills weren't that great when ordering, the young, very helpful and friendly staff helped me a lot and explained everything in a simple way. On the one hand, the food on offer is as usual in pubs with fish & chips, pie, etc. , but there were also some other dishes on the menu, so everyone can find something here. The dessert selection was also outstanding! Large selection of beers with typical local as well as foreign beers. Cider and other drinks. Price-performance fits! We really enjoyed it and I would always recommend it!

Fairly average fish & chips for £19.50; with a pint, around £26 for a pretty expensive lunch. Imagine my surprise when I get the bill only to discover a nearly £3 “service charge,” not observed on the menu. Must be a huge impost on the generosity of the staff to have them take the order and serve. And then the pay screen asks if I’d like to pay a tip…really? P.S. the reply below says the service charge is voluntary. At no time was that stated in response to my question. Levying a “voluntary” service charge without telling the customer? At its most charitable - sloppy business practice.

An OK-ish London boozer, which specialises in pies. We recently visited here on a quick visit to London. While the food was not bad, although somewhat over-priced even for London, the service was somewhat haphazard. Firstly the first round of drinks took an eternity to arrive, and then trying to get anyone’s attention for a second round of drinks was a mission. Then while eating our starters, they started to bring out the main courses and one person’s starter never arrived at all.. The fish and chips I ordered was OK, though nothing special, and did not really justify the high price tag. Overall would not rush back

I’d come here most Sundays but haven’t in months, you used to be able to get some amazing crispy marmite roast potato’s and a decent Yorkshire pudding with proper gravy to nibble with drinks. This time.. the first time I’d been in months, the roast potatoes were laughable. The marmite roast potatoes looked like they’d not even seen an oven let alone marmite. What a shame, no love whatsoever in the food now. Thank god we didn’t order a full roast

Food was excellent, and the interior was fantastic. Unfortunately after the male waiter took over from the lady who took us to our table, we were left mostly without service where 101 basics of waitstaff were missed. Went on a very busy Thursday afternoon around 2pm. There was a sign saying please wait to be seated but when a member of staff approached the sign where we were waiting she seemed perplexed when we asked for a table. When we were sat and had chance to watch her work it appeared the whole concept of serving people was perplexing to her. After that the experience at The Jack Horner improved 100%. A lovely man came to take our order and the food that arrived was great. My daughter had fish and chips, a dish which has often disappointed in London as its hard to beat our local Yorkshire F&Cs but she thought they were good, the fish tasty and well fried. My sister and I had several sharing plates between us - Mushroom Pate (smooth and so mushroomy), Pulled beef and cheese nuggets (lush tasting), Cauliflower Pakora (this is THE best way to eat cauliflower, was tasty, crispy and perfectly matched with the coronation dip), Marmite Roast Pots (OMG these were beautiful, you dont need to like Marmite to eat these, they just taste savoury), Braised Leeks and Hispi Cabbage (really good) and Heritage Carrots and Beetroot (what isnt great about carrots and beetroot!). Good choice of drinks, possibly a wait at the bar but worth the wait.

Sebastien, one of the staff members, truly went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of exceptional. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to our visit. Not to mention, his knowledge of draught beer helped us select the perfect brew to accompany our meal. Speaking of the meal, the food was divine! The Steak & Ale Pie was hearty and packed with a flavour, and my friend said her Fish Finger Sandwich was delicious! Everything was incredibly good value for money, great quality and decent portion sizes. The Jack Horner`s location made it an ideal spot for pre-theatre lunch for us, with its cozy yet lively atmosphere walking distance from The Dominion Theatre. We booked to have an evening meal here. We opted for the fish pie and a steak pie both were lovely. We have selected the scones for dessert. I would have scored our experience as an excellent, but the one part that for us let the venue down was the bill. We had a couple of drinks from the bar which we’d been up and got ourselves. When paying, we were simply told the amount and we duly paid it. It wasn’t until we left, we found on the receipt that 12.5% service charge is automatically added. This equated to £12. I just felt the venue should have been more transparent at the time we paid our bill. It’s not mandatory to pay a service charge and we should have been given the option. I’m sure it’s probably mentioned somewhere on the menu but I have to be honest we didn’t see it. We always leave a tip but it would not have been £12. Lesson learned for us.

Shocking service 14:00 on the 19 Oct) Went to bar to order, was told that she would come and take my order from the table. Said I'd be sat outside. Waited more than 15 minutes. Nobody came to take my.order but waitresses did come outside to deliver an order more than once. They could have seen I was waiting and taken my order, but didn't. Went back inside and explained to same lady behind the bar nobody came. She seemed non-plussed, didn't want to look me in the eye and more or less shrugged her shoulders. Spoke to another waitress hanging around and told asked her what she'd been doing and that she'd been outside and not come to my table. Was told they were very short staffed. However the place wasn't that busy. A group of 5 outside having a beer (no food) and party of 8 having a b'day party outside. But they'd finished ordering their food and drinks and were just doing the bday cake. Then there was another gentleman inside who'd already eaten and was actually ready to go and another table of 4. I saw at least 3 staff. So hardly short staff. Let's have the explanation...
