The staff esp bar seem badly trained. Getting orders wrong. Dropping drinks on the floor when the place was relatively empty. I mean how can you in the space of 10 mins make two mistakes. No nuts for the drinks offered at bar on top? Sub par experience won’t visit again.

Great food, It is pricey but you get what you pay for. This is not the first time and I will come back.

The staff were fab, decor was lovely but the food was shocking we had breakfast and it came out so fast you could tell it had been made up and left there and warmed up in a microwave

I loved this place when I went there the first time but the service and food has really gone down hill. Had a party of 8 and the meal too four hours to complete due to the terrible lack of staff. The ones that were there tried their best but the food took ages to arrive, when it did eventually come we were missing side orders and by the time those came the rest of the meal was cold. No top-up of wine, missing starters, it was a real mess. They gave us some discount which was good but all I really wanted was a good experience.

Great night out…kept us waiting at the while… these things happen… mark of a good business how resolve setbacks… full marks how they resolved and looked after us. Food was great as usual.. waiting staff just have it sorted.. thanks Ivy.. great experience

Food mostly A1 although sometimes greasy. Staff wander around with their noses high ignoring the diners. Whomever set the music volume may be deaf, couldn’t hear my fellow diners. Didn’t choose to dine in a disco.

Gorgeous place went on 17th March and the only downside was it was so cold in the restaurant, food, service was just perfect.

Could not fault the experience. Possibility one of my best ever visits to a restaurant. The staff especially our waitress went above and beyond, she ensured we had the best experience I saw one waiter sing happy birthday 3 times and each time with the same enthusiasm.!! This restaurant is a must. Food is amazing and its presentation is a feast for the eyes. The interior is beyond belief. And the bathroom well honestly I could have stayed there all night beautiful. Always a delight - food is always delicious, the setting is beautiful and the staff were attentive. I had the Shepherd's pie, which was delish and my friend had the filet steak, which she raved about. It's not the best value, given the portion sizes but it's consistent, the food tastes great and it always feels like a treat to be in that gorgeous environment 😍😁

Treated my Husband to afternoon tea on the rooftop terrace, we were spoilt rotten & the food was simply delicious. Teeny weeny sandwiches & a selection of posh little cakes, & an ice cold glass of champagne...he even got a birthday cake complete with a gold candle! Nothing was too much trouble & we were made to feel so special in such beautiful surroundings. Loved it so much we are going back for a champagne meal for 2 in a couple of weeks 🩷At the end of our meal we were given little boxes of chocolates to take home 🩷

Really enjoyed our lunch . Very friendly waitress who really took care of us . Nice atmosphere. Food was nice and tasty , we choose from a la carte and monthly special a bit higher prices as nothing really from the set menu that caught our attention. The dessert was the high point , delicious and well presented . Apple tart was fine , topped with caramelized nuts just to give a nice touch , with cinnamon and flambé calvados . Exceptional vanilla ice cream from Madagascar . But bear in mind it takes 14 mns to make so if you are in a lunch break take that into consideration.

I genuinely had high expectations for this place but the food just does not do it for me. Mind you, for a small sized dish like the milanese you are paying over £30 and it does not even come with fries or potatoes. The drinks on the other size, are really good I’d say. I recommend the cherry spritz. Service also really nice and friendly, typical at these places. The moment it gets busier, they are definitely not that around you anymore and just focus on bigger tables that spend more money…. 2 mains & starters, 1 dessert and 4 cocktails for 2 people…£164 judge it for yourself

We’ve now visited every floor at The Ivy Spinningfields, have to say we have not had anything other than a great experience. Always a great welcome from the minute you arrive. Service friendly and efficient, Sebastiano was brilliant. Food was delivered hot and the presentation amazing. Highly recommended.

Went to the Ivy for lunch yesterday for my mums birthday, after a slight table hiccup which was sorted we had an amazing time! The food was great and the service from Summer was even better! We came on New Year’s Day and Summer looked after us then as well, she is professional, organised and made us all feel really welcome and looked after.

Overpriced and underwhelming. We dined in the brasserie, I had the lobster pasta and it was so overcooked I couldn’t eat it, no seasoning or sauce very disappointing. The rest of the food my table had was just average. Service was not good. Our main server was good but then after he went on his break everyone else who served us was impolite. They blamed other people for their mistakes, tried to open a screw top wine with a cork bottle opener, snatched cutlery from us and forgot items we had ordered. There was no communication or apologies. Would not recommend.

Lovely couple of hours on rooftop bar with stunning bottle of Barolo and a cheese plate . Richard was super attentive and helpful in fabulous surroundings

Hi Recently visited ivy Ordered the minute steak with glass vino, which online said £19.95 And on the menu said same. But when got bill got charged £25.95 why would that be ?

My wife and I were a walk in after attending an event nearby. First time for both of us and we very well looked after with special thanks to Andrew C and Charlotte. We had the 1917 menu which is excellent value. Chicken satay skewers and the haddock/salmon fishcake re commanded. My wife gave age creme brûlée 10/10. The decor is very impressive especially the art prints.Thanks from Marc and Joanne.

3 floors something for everyone.

Although I normally love it here, unfortunately I have been left with no other choice than to give a bad review. I had booked a specific menu for my Son’s 18th birthday and noticed on the morning of his 18th that the menu wasn’t showing as available anymore. After 2 phone calls to the venue I was reassured that although the menu wasn’t available to book online at present, we would be able to order from it upon arrival. When we arrived, we were told we would not be able to order it at all. I just feel very let down and will now not ever trust that they will deliver on their promises. They did look into it and adjusted the bill a little, but this did not in any way reflect the cost of the menu we had booked, nor did we receive any kind of apology for the way we were treated. Disappointing and very misleading. I personally won’t be going back to somewhere that cannot keep their word. In my opinion they should have made it their business to contact me to inform me of any changes so that I could have made the decision about whether I wanted to keep my booking or not. By the time we had sat down, it was too late and I really didn’t want I let my Son down on his 18th birthday. We made the very best of a bad situation. I just don’t want other people to experience this as it was incredibly unfair.

Overall it was good, the food is good, the service was nice and the atmosphere was nice too. I didn’t like how they put the tables so close to each other, I understand it was Valentine’s Day and maybe they wanted to serve more people, but I could hear the people next to us as if we were sitting with them. Another thing, you have to go to another level to use the toilets

Really nice and cool restaurant, with elegant environment and good food. As we went for dinner on a Wednesday, we could enjoy the set menu for a really reasonable price. The only thing I did not like was that our waiter disappeared after the main course and we waited for about 15 min till another waiter asked what we wanted. So then we ordered the desserts and the bill at the same time. A pity because the crème brûlée was delicious.

Had the most delightful Sunday brunch here! Greeted warmly by the Roof Terrace hostess, set the scene for a very enjoyable dining experience. I recently dined at The Ivy and had an enjoyable experience in terms of atmosphere and service. However, I was quite disappointed when I was informed that I couldn’t take home my leftover steak due to their health and safety policy. While I understand the importance of food safety, I believe that once a customer takes responsibility for their food, it should no longer be a concern for the restaurant. Many establishments allow customers to sign a waiver, acknowledging they accept any risks. Instead of enforcing a strict no-takeaway policy, The Ivy could implement a similar approach to give diners the choice while still protecting themselves legally. Furthermore, wasting perfectly good food also raises environmental concerns. If health and safety are truly a priority, shouldn’t reducing food waste and its impact on the environment be considered just as important? In today’s world, where sustainability is crucial, policies that lead to unnecessary waste seem outdated and counterproductive. I hope The Ivy reconsiders this policy, either by allowing customers to take responsibility for their leftovers or by implementing a more sustainable approach.

Didn't book but fancied our chances for a birthday cocktail. They let us sit at the bar on the top floor. Would have stayed longer but only went in for one. Only downfall was the cocktail for £13.50 was literally full of crushed ice. Think my partner managed 4 sips and it was gone. Plus £6 service charge ontop. I always leave a tip but wouldn't have added that much for 2 cocktails which of one was gone in 2 minutes

I took my mum to the Ivy for her 66th birthday. It was a shopping day in Manchester, followed by the cinema. We were designer jeans and a stand-up colour jumper, We both look very smart. However, walking into the Ivy To be looked up and down by a man who Looked very disapproving. I found myself greeting him and smiling, I can’t say much for the other staff members. The problem I find in life is that people who have little money In these places Need to dress up So they present money, And they don’t know how to respond in front of other people. Because the majority of people who have money actually are super lovely! I won’t be going back again. It’s the first time and the last time. However, if you do read your reviews, please take on board: Show decency and make every guest feel Welcome. When we went to the third floor to the Terrace, Again, we wasn’t greeted friendly at all, And even though I booked an afternoon tea We was left there for 15 minutes and then the waiter came over and asked what we wanted to eat and I explained I booked afternoon tea. This hadn’t been put on the notes…

Dined here on Saturday night , the food was amazing. The layout and service was not the tables are crammed in with very little room. Service was ok but not what I have come to expect from the Ivy. Not the amazing dining experience or a pleasant evening I Was expecting. There are plenty of fabulous place to eat in Manchester this is not one .

Fantastic from start to finish. From the food which was faultless & very reasonably priced for the quality. The staff which are so friendly & welcoming, from the 2 gentleman at the door when you enter, welcoming staff front of house & servers, all are friendly & do what they can to make your visit as perfect as possible, especially a tall guy called Miltos. If you want a 5* experience at an average price, you will not be disappointed

Came here last year for my daughter’s birthday. Very expensive and the food was of average quality. I had burger & chips and if I’m being honest I’ve had better burgers at a very well known fast food chain. Safe to say I won’t be returning.

Have a lovely meal at The Ivy to celebrate our anniversary. Starter Chicken skewers with a peanut infused sauce followed by Seabass with a Cheese plate for desert. My partner had frozen berries that were theatrically presented. We received an anniversary treat, a round chocolate profiterole, which was a nice touch.

The general vibe here is amazing, the management staff is awful though, sneaky back handed comments, finding any way to avoid helping and generally very rude.

We visited at around 1130am on 25th January, where we all had a glass of prosecco. Sat at the bar, we later watched the lady pour a load of glasses of prosecco back into the bottle to be used again. I wouldn't like to be the next people to receive this! This was done in full view of customers, and the other staff were clearly amused by it. I wouldn't come back after that.

What a fabulous place to enjoy cocktails at the bar before a delicious meal. Ambience is wonderful and very attentive staff. Finish off with after dinner drinks upstairs in the outdoor bar

My apologies for the low score. We found that the service was unacceptably slow. We rarely saw our server and we had to order 2 drinks each in an attempt to always have a drink in front of us. I had scallops and lobster linguine and sadly they both lacked flavour and my scallops were over-cooked. I don't think I would visit here again because I was quite disappointed overall. I've tried to be fair with my ratings and explanation for the low score.

We had such a lovely lunch today and the gentleman serving our table really did go above and beyond to make us feel welcome. With 3 mums with babies and prams we were a handful, but we were made to feel so welcome and looked after. The food and drinks were delicious!

Yet again, a fantastic meal at The Ivy! Fantastic service throughout from our server, amazingly tasty food. And honestly, it's not massively expensive... yes a little more than what you'd pay in a Spoons, but the food is top notch devine with a wonderful atmosphere and wonderful, personal service! It's our treat. You can pay less than £20 for a two course meal. Also, the App gave an amazing offer... double points... whoop! Thank you once again for an amazing experience.

We were visiting the David Hockney exhibition and stumbled across this place . As we had never been befire I reserved a table and was so impressed by everything, the good, decor and attentive service especially from Kim. And so reasonable ....£20 for 2 courses.

Popped in for quick lunch with family. Nice to see they offered a 2 course menu for £20. Everyone enjoyed their meals! Very tasty. However, drinks were touching on extortionate...

Staff were lovely, restaurant was lovely, music was a tad loud! Steak didn't come as asked, but was still edible, asked for a medium but came out a bit pink! Fish and chips were delightful and the sticky toffee pudding was delicious!

Went here for afternoon tea and had a delightful experience. Excellent service and the great food. The afternoon tea selection came with savoury and sweet options each of which were delicious.

We hired the Dalton private dining room for our wedding breakfast. We had an excellent experience, the food was lovely and the service by Claudia was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble, she was attentive and polite. I would recommend this room/event for a lovely intimate dining experience.

We had our wedding breakfast in the Dalton Room yesterday. We chose the Heritage Private Dining menu. Claudia Marshall was our host. What an asset to the Ivy Claudia is. From minute one she was so informing and helpful. She organised our guests various beverage requests with such ease. Our food was absolutely off the scale and Claudia served all guests with professional courtesy. She actually made our day with her excellence. Thank you Claudia for making our special day so very special!

Absolutely loved the place from the minute we walked through the door. Food was amazing, staff were brilliant. I can't recommend the Ivy enough. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Sat upstairs in the roof terrace, it was so dark people were getting their phones out to read the menu, service was slow and patchy , ordered 3 courses off the Christmas menu, starters arrived quickly then it 20 mins to get our main course. 12.5% service charge is steep as well. You can get a better meal and experience in so many other places in Manchester.

This restaurant is perfect for a date night as the portions are not huge..The staff are always a delight and there’s always a nice vibe with friendly staff on hand to serve you throughout your sitting.

We were here for New Year's Eve and are a little disappointed. For just under £90 per 3-course meal we would have imagined something different. The vegetarian dishes in particular were very simple. It was OK, but nothing more. Wouldn't come here again!

I have visited The Ivy Spinningfields Manchester multiple times, and it remains one of my favorite spots. The service is always consistent, and the staff are welcoming and professional. The restaurant is well-known for its excellent reputation and elegant atmosphere. Their desserts are both luxurious and delicious. Their afternoon tea is among the best I’ve ever had. This place is truly exceptional, and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Great afternoon late lunch, attentive staff and delicious food. We will be back 😀. Very busy Saturday afternoon, cleanliness of the toilets was disappointing. The York ivy toilets are amazing and beautifully clean.

Went on New Year’s Day just as a date for 1 to try something new. Had a lovely meal with 3 courses for £60. Service could have been a little faster but I enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. The food was tasty and very hot when delivered. Drink was delicious and the dessert was rich.

I wish I could give zero stars for the Ratatouille experience at The Ivy Spinningfields. From the moment I sat down with my friend, who, had been there multiple times before, I was expecting something special. Instead, I was absolutely horrified. I'd heard plenty of positive reviews, but didn't expect this. About halfway through my meal, I felt something run across my foot and looked down to see something scurry away under the booth table where we were sat at the back of the restaurant. Not once did anyone address this unsanitary, utterly unacceptable situation when I'm sure it's been spotted before. I'm still in shock that a restaurant of this supposed caliber could have such an appalling lack of cleanliness. I will never return, and I’d strongly advise anyone with an ounce of self-respect to steer clear of this place. You can keep your overpriced meals, I’ll take my business elsewhere, preferably somewhere without rodents.
