There was a lot of hassle over getting the things on our breakfast dishes, it was called something like Ivy Special breakfast, that they forgot sausages or tomatoes. Staff graciously took the cost of the extra items they forgot off but I'd expect more from the fine dinning experience. The pastries that came with the breakfast didn't taste fresh and I absolutely loved the berry smoothie. The interior is one of a kind, absolutely adore the bathrooms but it's not my style and don't plan to return.

MORE AT Google

Ivy Asia Manchester is a disgrace to the restaurant industry, a tacky facade that uses its Instagram-friendly interior to hide an overpriced, chaotic mess. Behind the glowing fancy signs and fake glamour lies rude staff, frozen supermarket-quality food, and one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Despite it being a quiet day – with far fewer diners than you’d expect for a place charging these prices – the staff were still failing miserably. We were ignored at the door for ages while employees wandered past pretending not to notice us. When we were finally seated, things went from bad to worse. Our waitress, a short, obnoxious ginger woman, couldn’t have been less interested in doing her job. Every question about the menu was met with exaggerated sighs or eye rolls, making us feel like an inconvenience. Meanwhile, the managers scurried around like headless chickens, laughing and chatting among themselves rather than addressing the disorganized chaos. Then came the food – a parade of disasters. The gochujang glazed fried chicken was borderline inedible: rubbery, clearly not fresh, and drowned in a cloyingly sweet glaze that tasted more like artificial honey than the spicy-savory kick of real gochujang. Honestly, I wouldn’t have fed it to my worst enemy. The chicken skewers were even worse: dry, stringy, and utterly flavorless, served with a sad excuse for a dipping sauce that tasted like watered-down soy sauce mixed with old ketchup. It’s almost impressive how flavourless they managed to make something so simple. The black cod, which Ivy Asia seems to think is a signature dish, was laughable. Overly oily and drowned in a glaze so salty it burned my mouth, it arrived lukewarm and felt like it had been reheated in a microwave. I’ve had better cod from cheap takeaways. The so-called premium wagyu Denver steak was the biggest insult. At nearly £50, I expected something tender and flavorful, but what I got was chewy, bland, and clearly not genuine wagyu. There was no marbling or buttery texture – just a gimmicky label slapped on a below-average cut of meat. By the end of the meal, I felt physically ill – and not just from disappointment. The next day, I had full-blown food poisoning: stomach cramps, nausea, and everything in between. This isn’t just bad food; it’s food that makes you regret eating it for days afterward. Even the drinks were terrible. My £15 cocktail looked pretty but tasted like watered-down syrup, more fitting for a budget all-inclusive resort than a so-called luxury restaurant. The atmosphere didn’t help either. Despite being quiet, the restaurant was chaotic. The deafening music, disorganized staff, and clattering plates made the place feel more like a nightclub than a high-end dining experience. It was migraine-inducing from start to finish. In short, Ivy Asia Manchester is all style and no substance. They charge absurd prices for low-quality, frozen food, served by rude, clueless staff in a gaudy, chaotic setting. Save your time, money, and stomach – avoid this place at all costs. This was, without a doubt, the most insulting dining experience of my life.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Visited The Ivy in Manchester on a Thursday afternoon in November 2024, with a table booked for 3:00 PM. I went with my wife, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. Parking was convenient at the nearby NCP car park, making it easy to get to the restaurant. Upon arrival, I requested the vegetarian menu and opted for the spiced olives as a starter, followed by a whipped plant-based cream and candied pecan salad. For the main course, I chose the plant-based vegan cheeseburger, which came with pickles, red onions, sauce, and perfectly cooked thick-cut chips. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. My wife enjoyed the robata-grilled chicken skewers to start and then had the turkey ballotine, which was wonderfully festive with apricot, cranberry, and pork stuffing. She was equally impressed with her choices. For drinks, I had sparkling water, while my wife indulged in a Peach & Coco Mai Tai cocktail, which she described as a fantastic balance of flavours. The restaurant was very busy, but the service remained prompt and efficient. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. The décor was elegant and upmarket, creating a luxurious atmosphere. Accessibility was also excellent, with good wheelchair access and an accessible toilet that was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bill came to just under £120, which I felt was excellent value given the quality of food, service, and overall experience. If you haven’t visited The Ivy in Manchester yet, it’s definitely worth trying. The variety of menu options and overall quality make it well worth a return visit!

Beautiful place, but we experienced cold and inedible food, no check back, and drinks left on the bar for 10 minutes, which we then just collected ourselves. When asking for cold food to be replaced, we received more cold food. It took a good 40 minutes to be able to talk with the manager, who sent staff over with offers of free desserts and drinks. It was very quiet, and there seemed to be no reason or explanation as to why they weren't on point. Very disappointing experience in all. Please do better to reflect your price point. The Ivy Manchester is a stunning dining spot that truly delivers on both style and substance. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by beautiful decor and a vibrant ambiance that makes every visit feel special. The menu offers a fantastic range of dishes, with options that cater to every taste. Whether you’re in the mood for classic British fare, a seafood dish, or something more adventurous, The Ivy has it covered. I tried the shepherd’s pie, and it was incredible—rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The truffle arancini is also a must-try starter, and their desserts are as beautiful as they are delicious. Service at The Ivy is top-notch. The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, happy to make recommendations and ensure you have everything you need. The drinks menu, especially the cocktails, is creative and beautifully presented, adding an extra touch of indulgence to the experience. Overall, The Ivy Manchester is perfect for a special occasion or simply a luxurious meal out. This is a beautiful place. We didn't eat on this occasion but have eaten here previously and loved the food. However, the service borders on the rude. My friend and I both had a glass of champagne. The waitress asked if we wanted to open a tab. We said we didn't. She then proceeded to print out the boll and shove it between our faces as we were chatting. The last time we were here, we had to wait for our drinks as the 2 waiters played rock, paper, scissors over the tip they had been left. It's such a shame.

Told the waitress, waited another 5 minutes for my missing items. By this time my steak was cold. The steak was full of fat and gristle. Come to the bill and they tried to double charge for the peppercorn sauce. If I’m ordering a relatively expensive steak I’d expect everything to arrive at the same time and a bill to be checked before bringing it out to me.

This was my first visit to the Ivy restaurant , although my wife has been to the ones in Leeds and Manchester on several occasions . I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to food (old fashioned , some might say) , so I was slightly sceptical about what would be on the menu . Without actually telling me what was on the menu beforehand , she said she knew 100% what I would pick . Fish and chips and mushy peas please (she smiled) (she was right as always) . All these years I've not gone , all these years missing out on not just fish and chips , but up there in my top five fish and chips . Lovely crunchy batter , fresh white fish , chips done to perfection , and mushy peas to easily match my own award winning mushy peas . So all in all , a lovely place with curtious and friendly staff . Will I go again ? Most definitely . What will I choose off the menu next time ? Same again please 😊

We were kindly given the use of a private room for our meal because of the size of the party for our work friend's leaving dinner. The room was beautifully decorated, just as you would expect at The Ivy. Our dedicated waitress was attentive and polite, even allowing us to adjust the music (we asked about the volume and were told we could put on our own music should we wish to). Several of us opted for the '1917' menu, honouring the year the first restaurant of the chain was founded, which offered two courses for £19.17. The shepherd's pie was nice but quite small for the price, although this, like the decor, was also to be expected for The Ivy. The chocolate bombe dessert was decadent, rich and very sweet (too sweet for some of our group but not for me!). The lovely waitress also had an extra dessert brought in for our friend and had written 'good luck' on the serving plate: a really thoughtful touch that made the evening personalised and even more memorable. The lower-priced menu is a great incentive for people to treat themselves at this world-renowned restaurant without breaking the bank. Admittedly, I wasn't completely wowed by the food, but the service and atmosphere made up for it.

Granted it was a busy time but we had that usual thing of waiting for 20 minutes for the bill whilst the staff are so busy.. just hire am extra team member and it would have been a nicer experience. Food was decent, the vibe in there is good but when it's busy it's quite loud.

I've been to the original Ivy a number of times...but it was many years ago. I had never visited the Ivy in Manchester...primarily because it always struck me as a bit too flash. The original Ivy was cool because it was understated...located down a side street opposite Leicester Sq tube...with a very low key frontage. The Manchester Ivy is the total opposite...smack bang in the centre of Spinningfields...with a huge entrance flanked by doormen and fire...you certainly can't miss it! However I was pleasantly surprised when I visited for lunch last week. The service and the food were on point...just at the level I remembered from the original Ivy years ago. The only thing I would warn anyone about who is visiting the Ivy for the first time is that while the food is very well made...it is very expensive for what it is. Don't expect Michelin standard cooking...the dishes are relatively simple. For example...the classic Ivy shepherd's pie is probably one of the best examples of the dish I have ever tasted...but it's not the largest portion (enough for me...maybe not for some) and it costs £18. I was there with a friend...and between the 2 of us we ordered the bread and zucchini fries to nibble on...both were great and substantial. I had the shepherd's pie and my friend had a sea bass dish. Both were excellent. To drink we shared a bottle of Nyetimber sparkling wine (£95) and this made up half of our overall bill...£190. Overall I would go back...and I'd recommend it for anyone wanting to celebrate a special lunch or dinner.

I just ate here with some friends for the 1917 meal deal... Great value for money! Food was delicious and excellent quality. The decorating/atmosphere is exceptional, and the drinks are very good. Also, our server Roddy was very nice and attentive. Ive lived in Manchester roughly 8 years and never been here before, but I will definitely be back!

So much hype but customer service isn't great. Had a meal booked for 6.15 but we arrived at 6, they sat us at the bar until 10 to 7 (50mins!!) And we were waiting around the (almost empty) bar for 25 mins before we even got offered a drink, on top of this we got charged a service charge for the drinks when there was a clear lack of any service.

An amazing experience awaits you from the moment you walk in the door. You are greeted by lovely welcoming staff. Shown to your table and your waiting staff go out of the their way to make sure your meal and drinks is 100% perfect! The food is amazing!!! The drinks are amazing!!! After our meal, we went up to the roof top bar - the bar staff were just brilliant & their drink were superb. But over all the staff at The Ivy are absolutely amazing. They all go out of their way to make your experience so special. They are all so friendly and treat you like you matter. I cannot fault The Ivy on anything. It was just all amazing. I can’t wait to book and come back! Thank you all so very much x

Apart from the fact that the place is beautiful and seduces you from minute zero, the food is delicious (especially the pasta with lobster and the pasta with truffle and cream cheese). And Gabriel's attention, impeccable... A place to return to!

We were a party of 6 booked into The Ivy for lunch; a family day out in Manchester. I haven’t been to the Ivy before and I was impressed by the building, the decor, layout and (of course) the toilets. The restaurant was about 1/2 full. I ordered the olives and sourdough, both delicious and served in such a lovely setting, our mood was happy and we were all enjoying the ambience. Waiting staff were okay but have that seasoned waiters’/ celebrity knack of avoiding eye contact, which was a bit disappointing and drinks refills were slow. Three of us ordered the “famous” Ivy Burger, 2 with cheese. This was the problem, there wasn’t a hint of the flavour of cheese on the burger. The waiter insisted there was a cheese garnish but graciously agreed to remove the cost - I swear there was no hint of the taste of cheese, let alone mature cheddar. As for the burger this was the most tasteless piece of meat I have ever eaten. What should have been the tasty centre piece turned out to be a bland, lump of brown ?mince? At best this could be described as a medium for carrying the other flavours; but lettuce, tomato and tomato sauce are not strong enough flavours to rescue that disastrous burger. So meal over, expect an opportunity to give feedback - there is none. The day manager enthused about a discount for frequent Ivy diners club (are there any) glad we all enjoyed ourselves without checking whether we did or not. The diners’ who ordered the beef-burger agreed with me about its tasteless blandness. Nice gold jacket but you are no maître d. I am no chef but I cook better, tastier food than this at home. I would not go there again.

The Ivy is really great and there is the option of the roof garden (which we did not use). The £19.17 lunch menu is exceptional value. Great service and lovely food. Plant based curry is very tasty!

... vinieron con 3 amigos a tomar algo. Busy. La gente se sentaba en el bar, lo que dificultaba el servicio. OK a horas tranquilas, pero no en un sábado por la noche IMHO. Ale choice limitada / oscura - las velas añaden poco. Meh...

Where do I begin, I’ve been visiting this fine establishment for years and the service has always been immaculate ✨Today I met a lovely young man wearing a red bandana around his head, with a dashing smile and a passion for excellent customer service (with a smile). He had a cracking sense of humour and was everything and more you’d expect from a server. Promote this man effective immediately!!!! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
