The Ivy Spinningfields in Manchester

My apologies for the low score. We found that the service was unacceptably slow. We rarely saw our server and we had to order 2 drinks each in an attempt to always have a drink in front of us. I had scallops and lobster linguine and sadly they both lacked flavour and my scallops were over-cooked. I don't think I would visit here again because I was quite disappointed overall. I've tried to be fair with my ratings and explanation for the low score.

Great late lunch for my daughters birthday, good food with good vegan choices on the set menu, great service from Billy I think was his name, bonus birthday profiterole for my daughters, and the best coffee americano for me, best one I’ve had in Manchester. Thank you!

We had such a lovely lunch today and the gentleman serving our table really did go above and beyond to make us feel welcome. With 3 mums with babies and prams we were a handful, but we were made to feel so welcome and looked after. The food and drinks were delicious!

Yet again, a fantastic meal at The Ivy! Fantastic service throughout from our server, amazingly tasty food. And honestly, it's not massively expensive... yes a little more than what you'd pay in a Spoons, but the food is top notch devine with a wonderful atmosphere and wonderful, personal service! It's our treat. You can pay less than £20 for a two course meal. Also, the App gave an amazing offer... double points... whoop! Thank you once again for an amazing experience.

We were visiting the David Hockney exhibition and stumbled across this place . As we had never been befire I reserved a table and was so impressed by everything, the good, decor and attentive service especially from Kim. And so reasonable ....£20 for 2 courses.

Nice to visit a restaurant where the training of staff is so important to the management. Booked for my daughter’s birthday. Very busy but service was excellent. Food was top quality, good cocktails and highly recommended.

Staff were lovely, restaurant was lovely, music was a tad loud! Steak didn't come as asked, but was still edible, asked for a medium but came out a bit pink! Fish and chips were delightful and the sticky toffee pudding was delicious!

Went here for afternoon tea and had a delightful experience. Excellent service and the great food. The afternoon tea selection came with savoury and sweet options each of which were delicious.

We hired the Dalton private dining room for our wedding breakfast. We had an excellent experience, the food was lovely and the service by Claudia was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble, she was attentive and polite. I would recommend this room/event for a lovely intimate dining experience.

We had our wedding breakfast in the Dalton Room yesterday. We chose the Heritage Private Dining menu. Claudia Marshall was our host. What an asset to the Ivy Claudia is. From minute one she was so informing and helpful. She organised our guests various beverage requests with such ease. Our food was absolutely off the scale and Claudia served all guests with professional courtesy. She actually made our day with her excellence. Thank you Claudia for making our special day so very special!

Absolutely loved the place from the minute we walked through the door. Food was amazing, staff were brilliant. I can't recommend the Ivy enough. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Sat upstairs in the roof terrace, it was so dark people were getting their phones out to read the menu, service was slow and patchy , ordered 3 courses off the Christmas menu, starters arrived quickly then it 20 mins to get our main course. 12.5% service charge is steep as well. You can get a better meal and experience in so many other places in Manchester.

This restaurant is perfect for a date night as the portions are not huge..The staff are always a delight and there’s always a nice vibe with friendly staff on hand to serve you throughout your sitting.

We were here for New Year's Eve and are a little disappointed. For just under £90 per 3-course meal we would have imagined something different. The vegetarian dishes in particular were very simple. It was OK, but nothing more. Wouldn't come here again!

I have visited The Ivy Spinningfields Manchester multiple times, and it remains one of my favorite spots. The service is always consistent, and the staff are welcoming and professional. The restaurant is well-known for its excellent reputation and elegant atmosphere. Their desserts are both luxurious and delicious. Their afternoon tea is among the best I’ve ever had. This place is truly exceptional, and I highly recommend it to everyone.

I wish I could give zero stars for the Ratatouille experience at The Ivy Spinningfields. From the moment I sat down with my friend, who, had been there multiple times before, I was expecting something special. Instead, I was absolutely horrified. I'd heard plenty of positive reviews, but didn't expect this. About halfway through my meal, I felt something run across my foot and looked down to see something scurry away under the booth table where we were sat at the back of the restaurant. Not once did anyone address this unsanitary, utterly unacceptable situation when I'm sure it's been spotted before. I'm still in shock that a restaurant of this supposed caliber could have such an appalling lack of cleanliness. I will never return, and I’d strongly advise anyone with an ounce of self-respect to steer clear of this place. You can keep your overpriced meals, I’ll take my business elsewhere, preferably somewhere without rodents.

Went on New Year’s Day just as a date for 1 to try something new. Had a lovely meal with 3 courses for £60. Service could have been a little faster but I enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. The food was tasty and very hot when delivered. Drink was delicious and the dessert was rich.

One of the WORST New Year's Eve celebrations.. TERRIBLE.. the Manger was 100% not organised I spoke to him and he actually agreed it was unorganised correctly... many people stood around waiting for tables .. people smoking in the corridors ...!!! ( Shocking ) food delivered cold staff unorganised.. SHAMBLES .. AT 12 MIDNIGHT the D.J was terrible right upto the 10 Sec playing RAVE MUSIC and straight on midnight BACK TO RAVE MUSIC ... so many people upset.. been to many IVY RESTAURANTS ...NEVER AGAIN.. SO SAD SPOILT THE WHO EVENT ... !!!!!

Definitely the coolest Ivy we have ever been too, the building is out of this world and the inside is just as elegant and mind blowing as the outside. I would definitely recommend going to this place, the food is phenomenal the service is fantastic and if I could rate the atmosphere higher than 5 I would, it's truly an experience I think everyone should try and do. We had the luxury of eating on the top floor and it is definitely the place to be. Overall a fantastic place to dine out, one I would aim to come back to next time I am in Manchester.

I recently visited The Ivy Rooftop in Manchester for drinks and dessert, and while the experience had some good moments, it didn’t live up to expectations. The espresso martini I ordered was excellent—smooth, well-made, and thoroughly enjoyable. However, the dessert was a letdown. I went for the chocolate bomb, which has changed a lot over time and not for the better. The flavors weren’t as impressive as they used to be, and the price has gone through the roof, making it feel like poor value for money. The decor on the rooftop could really use an update. The chairs are in poor condition—super faded and unattractive—and the table lamps are quite ugly, which detracts from the overall ambiance. For a place known for its aesthetic appeal, these details make the experience feel lackluster. While the drinks were a highlight, the dessert and setting didn’t justify the premium pricing. I hope they make some improvements because it has the potential to be much better.

We celebrated christmas eve here and it was amazing. The service, the food, the atmosphere were all great and I would like to come back here again!

Another wonderful evening at The Ivy, dining in The Brasserie. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere both cosy and intimate. But what makes The Ivy special is the EXAMPLARY service. So many other restaurants fall down on this element, but The Ivy never fails. Our waiter on this occasion - Paul - was marvellous. Bravo!

We go to Ivy for our anniversary every year. I wish they opened in more countries or at least Ireland and Scotland !

We were initially drawn to the restaurant by its impressive exterior, and once inside, we were delighted by the stunning ambiance. While the staff were polite, they didn’t come across as particularly warm, though they were still accommodating. The food was decent, though not extraordinary. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we received a complimentary cake after our meal, which was a thoughtful touch and appreciated for the occasion. The restroom, located upstairs, was beautifully decorated, adding to the overall charm of the place. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, with a few small areas for improvement in service, but the hospitality and atmosphere made it memorable.

First complaint at The Ivy Spinningfields Attended 15th December booked The Rooftop. Front of House no issues friendly & welcoming. Waited a couple of minutes for table no problem. Was clarifying with waiter a about there being only one menu. He proceeded to shout drawing attention to other diners. Realised there was two menus. I apogised. A friendlier waiter took the order for drinks and food. Waiter in black suit arrived sometime after with drinks plonked on the table without asking whose drinking what. Drinks arrived whilst eating starter. Food ordered of Festive & A la carte menu. 2 salt and pepper Squid arrived. Overcooked, Crunchy and very rubbery not the usual standard. Turkey ballotine ordered this was also overcooked. As cutting pigs in blanket half went flying on the floor. The burger of the other menu was fine. Condiments jars empty. The atmosphere was dead, loud rave music rather than something more quieter. This was a terrible dinning experience for £159. 00 Dinner here many times without fault

This was the first time I've been to the Ivy Asia and I think it's miles better than the normal Ivy where I've been a fair few times. The food is pricey but actually full of flavour and the decor is lovely. Staff are also lovely but had one slight issue where my Dad requested a gluten free beer and they gave him a normal beer, good job he checked it as he's coeliac. If he drank it, it could have made him seriously ill. They was very apologetic but offered nothing, I thought they might have at least knocked it off the £600 bill which was disappointing. Service charge is extortionate. Nice touch bringing a little cake out for my Nan's birthday but wouldn't rush back.

It used to be a really great venue but have really been put off by it. I was so disappointed with todays visit was going for a pre Christmas lunch. We ordered the set menu at £55 per person and the chilli squid was revolting soggy almost paste like squid shoved inside a napkin and covered in hair that was cooked into the batter 🤢🤢 The staff couldn’t really care and offered to knock off a juice off the bill to which I said there was nothing wrong with the drinks it’s the food it was vile. The main course was sea bass which was ok but nothing to write home about at all and had better food at gustos or another chain at a fraction of the cost. Nobody bothered to check if our meals were ok at all only by trying to grab the attention of a staff member that was becoming a hard task. I Paid them £57 for a sea bass fillet (singular) and a water with no starter. Bit of a rip off really? After we got them to take off the extra £15 service charge they tried to charge for no service whatsoever. Overall a really poor experience from start to finish.

Okay…. Expensive, poor table location, one round & one square tables placed together in the corner by the kitchen/bar hatch and a service station. The tables continually wobbled, loose fitting table tops. Birthday morsel was brought with a candle after one of the arty had left, no clapping, singing, ‘Happy Birthday’ etc, disappointing really… The server Katie was very good and very attentive. Water, wine and drinks appeared when required. Dark & were great, coffees were stone cold unfortunately… I will go again but maybe not as soon or as often as I would have done if my experience had been better….

Lovely location, went with work colleague for breakfast. Not many options for vegetarians for breakfast. The vegetarian menu is not available for breakfast. Overall service and atmosphere is lovely. I had the pancakes and didn't rate them, didn't seem fresh and had better elsewhere.

Beautiful restaurant. Made to feel special. Had the Xmas menu. Had plenty of choice. If you didn't want the Xmas you could order from the everyday menu. Only criticism was the background music was too loud. Felt we were shouting at each other at times. Apart from that a great evening was had.

We’re a family of four who go out for Sunday Lunch every week. We’ve also dined plenty of times at The Ivy and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. After learning The Ivy do a Sunday Roast we booked to try. We went today (which was also my birthday) and all loved it. Hopefully we’ll be looked after by Paul every time we go in the future too x

Check your bill before you pay and especially before you leave the restaurant. We attended on the 29th November for a works meal and had been overcharged, we only realised after we had left to rush off to the theatre. Phoned to complain and was told someone will phone me in the next 48 hours.

Went here for my sons birthday really looking forward to something special but honestly people save your money we were rushed in service people kept coming and clearing plates and glasses which were not finished with very annoying food was less than an average pub food and definitely not worth the money . Very small portions and oven chips a handful for 6.75 tables very small and packed in I will not be returning and don’t recommend. The building is lovely but everything else is just not worth the money we were all still hungry after we left. We mentioned the oven chips but the waiter wouldn’t accept it he said they were proper chips ! Hmmm don’t think so !

There was a lot of hassle over getting the things on our breakfast dishes, it was called something like Ivy Special breakfast, that they forgot sausages or tomatoes. Staff graciously took the cost of the extra items they forgot off but I'd expect more from the fine dinning experience. The pastries that came with the breakfast didn't taste fresh and I absolutely loved the berry smoothie. The interior is one of a kind, absolutely adore the bathrooms but it's not my style and don't plan to return.

Ivy Asia Manchester is a disgrace to the restaurant industry, a tacky facade that uses its Instagram-friendly interior to hide an overpriced, chaotic mess. Behind the glowing fancy signs and fake glamour lies rude staff, frozen supermarket-quality food, and one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Despite it being a quiet day – with far fewer diners than you’d expect for a place charging these prices – the staff were still failing miserably. We were ignored at the door for ages while employees wandered past pretending not to notice us. When we were finally seated, things went from bad to worse. Our waitress, a short, obnoxious ginger woman, couldn’t have been less interested in doing her job. Every question about the menu was met with exaggerated sighs or eye rolls, making us feel like an inconvenience. Meanwhile, the managers scurried around like headless chickens, laughing and chatting among themselves rather than addressing the disorganized chaos. Then came the food – a parade of disasters. The gochujang glazed fried chicken was borderline inedible: rubbery, clearly not fresh, and drowned in a cloyingly sweet glaze that tasted more like artificial honey than the spicy-savory kick of real gochujang. Honestly, I wouldn’t have fed it to my worst enemy. The chicken skewers were even worse: dry, stringy, and utterly flavorless, served with a sad excuse for a dipping sauce that tasted like watered-down soy sauce mixed with old ketchup. It’s almost impressive how flavourless they managed to make something so simple. The black cod, which Ivy Asia seems to think is a signature dish, was laughable. Overly oily and drowned in a glaze so salty it burned my mouth, it arrived lukewarm and felt like it had been reheated in a microwave. I’ve had better cod from cheap takeaways. The so-called premium wagyu Denver steak was the biggest insult. At nearly £50, I expected something tender and flavorful, but what I got was chewy, bland, and clearly not genuine wagyu. There was no marbling or buttery texture – just a gimmicky label slapped on a below-average cut of meat. By the end of the meal, I felt physically ill – and not just from disappointment. The next day, I had full-blown food poisoning: stomach cramps, nausea, and everything in between. This isn’t just bad food; it’s food that makes you regret eating it for days afterward. Even the drinks were terrible. My £15 cocktail looked pretty but tasted like watered-down syrup, more fitting for a budget all-inclusive resort than a so-called luxury restaurant. The atmosphere didn’t help either. Despite being quiet, the restaurant was chaotic. The deafening music, disorganized staff, and clattering plates made the place feel more like a nightclub than a high-end dining experience. It was migraine-inducing from start to finish. In short, Ivy Asia Manchester is all style and no substance. They charge absurd prices for low-quality, frozen food, served by rude, clueless staff in a gaudy, chaotic setting. Save your time, money, and stomach – avoid this place at all costs. This was, without a doubt, the most insulting dining experience of my life.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Visited The Ivy in Manchester on a Thursday afternoon in November 2024, with a table booked for 3:00 PM. I went with my wife, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. Parking was convenient at the nearby NCP car park, making it easy to get to the restaurant. Upon arrival, I requested the vegetarian menu and opted for the spiced olives as a starter, followed by a whipped plant-based cream and candied pecan salad. For the main course, I chose the plant-based vegan cheeseburger, which came with pickles, red onions, sauce, and perfectly cooked thick-cut chips. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. My wife enjoyed the robata-grilled chicken skewers to start and then had the turkey ballotine, which was wonderfully festive with apricot, cranberry, and pork stuffing. She was equally impressed with her choices. For drinks, I had sparkling water, while my wife indulged in a Peach & Coco Mai Tai cocktail, which she described as a fantastic balance of flavours. The restaurant was very busy, but the service remained prompt and efficient. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. The décor was elegant and upmarket, creating a luxurious atmosphere. Accessibility was also excellent, with good wheelchair access and an accessible toilet that was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bill came to just under £120, which I felt was excellent value given the quality of food, service, and overall experience. If you haven’t visited The Ivy in Manchester yet, it’s definitely worth trying. The variety of menu options and overall quality make it well worth a return visit!

The pre show meal in the Asian was excellent value & more than enough food. There was limited choice, as there were two of we decided on one plate of everything to share. It was a great choice.

For a special meal, this is a great venue, not cheap, though. Nevertheless, there are reasonably priced options available on the menu butI get drawn from them, but I am never let down! The staff make you feel special while remaining friendly.

La comida en sí , no mejor que una comida de microondas pinged . Nos sentamos arriba en el restaurante del jardín, hacía frío y cansado. Me temo que este lugar está ahora en una espiral descendente y necesita una revisión seria tanto en la cocina como en el suelo. Hay mejores lugares en Manchester por el mismo dinero.

Table for two & squashed in between two big tables not happy to say we had book. food good but pricey & service excellent. drinks absolute rip off a little can of beer almost £7 which would of probably cost them 70p I'm not tight but I'm not stupid things like that don't sit right. Pretentious

Stunning restaurant with a great, relaxed atmosphere. A wide variety of small sharing dishes which were all just incredible and the service was impeccable. Visiting as a birthday treat and received a delightful little birthday cake, which was a lovely special touch. A memorable dining experience and will be sure to visit again.

Beautiful place, but we experienced cold and inedible food, no check back, and drinks left on the bar for 10 minutes, which we then just collected ourselves. When asking for cold food to be replaced, we received more cold food. It took a good 40 minutes to be able to talk with the manager, who sent staff over with offers of free desserts and drinks. It was very quiet, and there seemed to be no reason or explanation as to why they weren't on point. Very disappointing experience in all. Please do better to reflect your price point. You should be top-notch, and you're miles away.

This was my first visit to The Ivy in Manchester. I knew what to expect as I have visited all the London ones . Fantastic service from start to finish. Just a pity that the building is purpose built so sadly hasn't got the same old period features as London restaurants (Ilove art decor) Will definitely visit again as the food is amazing! Well was looking forward to this and it was a disappointment. Had the 2 course deal ..vegetarian curry ..very nice ...desserts a let down ..chocolate brownie needed a hammer and chisel .wnt be back unfortunately

We ordered the buffalo mozzarella for starters and for main we got the ivy burger with cheese and the fillet steak both were very delicious 👏🏼 the topped with delicious dessert the chocolate bombe ♥️

Absolutely wonderful experience both my daughter and I had today. The ambience of happy people celebrating Happy occasions was electrifying. Wonderful attentive service from reception to our waiter Alfie. Can not wait to do it again. Thank you ♥️
