The fish and chips were yummy. Bit pricey though i mean i only got fish and chips and it cost like £50 with a drink

Terribly overpriced. We have been going to this restaurant for years; the prices are now ridiculous and the portions are smaller. Thanks to LUDNA the service was second to none. I think that Wagamama will be next time in Manchester. Personally, the Ivy has become a common eatery. What a shame.

Just what you expect from a high quality venue. Been to several Ivy restaurants and this building is fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Definitely go back. They don’t automatically add a tip to the bill, refreshing in today’s day and age. We probably tipped higher because they gave us the option, well done Ivy.

The food, service and atmosphere were wonderful. The server was incredibly helpful and made my grandmother feel very special for her birthday.

Service was slow up on the terrace due to there being just one bartender for a lot of people. The atmosphere is amazing though. Prices are to be expected.

Only one thing let it down and that was the loud music. We're having a meal, not at a disco and we couldn't talk comfortably. I would have thought it was going to be very subtle background music, chill etc. The food and service was top class but I wanted to enjoy it more and talk, not be distracted and have to listen to a dj /loud music whether I liked it or not. You could still talk - so that is the option I picked in question, but it's distracting. For this reason I wouldn't go again, such a shame for the amount of money we spent.

Afternoon tea - overpriced, poor service, rushed and we didn’t even get any tea! We ordered aperitifs to enjoy when we first arrived. But the waiter brought the cocktails, the afternoon tea and our champagne flutes all at the same time. Felt like he wanted us gone from the table asap. Afternoon tea was fine, not the best I’ve had and all show over substance. They didn’t offer any top ups or additions like other places do. Champagne sat getting warm while we rushed our cocktails down. No offer of tea or coffee. And then the bill arrived. All felt a bit amateur, not a refined afternoon tea you get elsewhere. Staff were nice enough though, just a bit young. They could probably do with putting a dress code out, because my word we saw some sights. Not somewhere to take your Granny!

Totally disappointed. My starter was cold when delivered. When I asked for a hot one. The waitress was very sarcastic when she bought a replacement. Had I not been in company I'd have certainly made a formal complaint to management. Then the main course came Hmmm. Great if your feeding sparrows. Portions so small. Would I recommend the place NO absolutely not it's pretentious and over rated..

Visited with friends. The food was nice. It was very busy and the tables are very close together. Qued for the lift to go to the toilet and then again to use the ladies toilets.

Mi marido tenía un cupón de cumpleaños para su cumpleaños, así que fuimos un sábado por la tarde, reservamos en el sitio web, estábamos sentados al lado de la barra, aplastados, el personal que estamos atentos, el menú no se ha cambiado desde hace algún tiempo, no representa la hiedra, pastel de pastor sobreprecio, fish & chips & hamburguesa, etc, que se puede conseguir en cualquier lugar y mejor, mi marido tenía un Ribeye sobreprecio, debería haber sido med raro, pero estaba crudo en algunos lugares, por £ 40 que esperaría obtener algún tipo de lado con él, pero no, tienes que pagar extra por ellos, tuve el té de la tarde, que estafa, he tenido mejor en un pequeño bistró en Bury por menos de la mitad de precio £ 35. 95 los sándwiches que consistían en 1 huevo de dedo de pan integral mayo. El segundo fue la mitad de un bollo brioche con un slither de salmón ahumado y queso, el tercero fue pollo al curry que no me gustó, nadie me preguntó si era vegetariano. 2 bollos pequeños, que no podíamos comer así que pedí que los llevaran a casa, todavía no podíamos comerlos ya que acababan de dejar caer la mermelada en el fondo de la caja junto con las fresas picadas para que los bollos se hubieran empapado, no estoy seguro de quién es la idea brillante que era. 1 botella de cerveza y tetera £ 136 que es mucho, a pesar de que teníamos un vale era demasiado para pagar por lo que teníamos. Una visita muy decepcionante.

It was our first visit to The Ivy Manchester and it certainly won't be our last. Everything was just fabulous, we were looked after by Jess and Miller who were friendly, efficient and excellent at their job.

Good food, service not as good as the first time we visited ivy rooftop, staff seamed a little unsure when ordering our starter, assumed we just wanted bread.

Went for my friends birthday. Very impressive decor. Service at the bar was terrible. Not acknowledged and had to grab the staff attention more than once. Food overpriced for what you get. I ordered the Ribeye medium and it came well done. I didn't complain as I'd already had an issue with the wine. They replaced it and changed me £58 for a £17 bottle of wine.

Went here for the first time the other day with my partner , it’s such an amazing and beautiful venue that gets let down with the service , I usually don’t like to complain when going to a restaurant, especially with these kind of prices but our server - a woman in a navy blazer was very dismissive and honestly quite rude , we felt discriminated against because she was more focussed on talking to an older couple who were obviously well off and we didn’t even get greeted / our drinks until 30 minutes of being sat down . Even when our courses came out it felt very impersonal and rushed , if the service was a bit better I’m sure we would’ve had a better time , the drinks were beautiful and the food was okay . Safe to say we won’t be coming back .

From the doorman to waitresses and everyone behind the scenes, we were well looked after. Very aesthetically pleasing decor and the food was filling. Definitely recommend this place for a nice treat meal.

This was my first visit to the ivy and it certainly did not disappoint. I took my son and his girlfriend for my son,s 30 th birthday which was today. Everything was exceptional from start to finish. The service the food the decor and the ambience. Thank you so much for a lovely evening.

It's inoffensive but overpriced. I assume regular diners go to say they ate at "The Ivy"? Manchester is a good food city so no need to eat at a mere chain restaurant trading on its supposedly illustrious name?

My friend recently treated me to a birthday meal at this exquisite restaurant. Upon entering the building I was delighted by the art deco design which continued up to the roof top restaurant where our table awaited us. I am a pescatarian and there was plenty of choice for me on the menu, warmed sour dough bread to share, followed by asparagus with pesto and salad, cod goujons and I finished with profiteroles to share. My friend loved her meal too. Staff are friendly and attentive making the whole experience very special for me.

Always outstanding service and great food.

The food is mediocre for the price. We ordered the scallops for the starters and were waiting to taste the Parmesan and truffle that was promised on the menu. The mains were good without blowing our mind.

Went in here with my best friend to try the afternoon tea; it was amazing! I've rarely eaten things this good 👍🏽 Top service as well. Will come again

Celebrated a birthday with a surprise visit to the terrace. Superb! Arrived at 1pm and it was quiet, however after about 30 mins the place was really busy. Staff really attentive (but not overly), and friendly. Offered info on the menu. The roof retracts which was lovely as the weather was unusually warm for March. Definitely a place to put in your list.

This would’ve been a minus one star review if it wasn’t for the manager and the other members of staff that stepped in at our table last night. We had a table booked for food and drinks and the waitress that was initially supposed to serve our table was awful. If she doesn’t have people’s skills or not prepared to learn them then maybe she needs to look for another job. She rudely interrupted our conversation twice, like she was bothered that we were chatting, she bought the bottle of wine we ordered, asked if it’s the right one and we had to double check it against the menu because the name wasn’t matching and without going into details here, I’m just going to say that she wasn’t pleased we did this, after SHE ASKED if it’s the right bottle. Fast forward from this issue, there were 2 beer glasses on the table and she was about to pour the wine into one of them so we asked if we can have actual wine glasses and she gave us a nasty look and an attitude and proceeded to tell us numerous times that apparantelt those are the standard wine glasses. We asked her if we can have the tall glasses instead, if she’s so adamant that the pint glasses were wine glasses and at the same time also asked if someone else can serve our table and she said ‘well this is MY side of the restaurant’, again, with an extremely rude attitude. She proceeded to go and speak with her colleague and she was looking directly at us and laughing so I had to go and ask for the manager because at this point I was getting pretty irritated by her nasty attitude. If I wanted to be treated like that, I would’ve went to the pub down the road but that’s probably an insult for the staff at the pub as they’re probably more mannered than her. The manager was very kind and friendly and the gentleman that looked after our table once the manager left for the evening was also very kind, so thank you to both of you for looking after us last night and I hope the lady in question will work on her manners.

A beautiful restaurant in the centre of Manchester. However the food and service were disappointing especially considering the price. We had an afternoon tea for 2 with one cocktail and once you have included the service charge this came to £100! We requested no egg sandwiches on our booking and I reiterated that on our arrival however they were still brought to our table and we had to re-request an alternative which could only either be a repeat of either salmon or chicken- (the savoury selection was very small!) The egg sandwich itself was very sad looking- dried up bread with curled edges. Because one of us had a cocktail no warm drinks were offered and so we had to request these. All in all we were disappointed with the service and selection of food. The salmon and chicken buns were tasty and the surroundings were beautiful. Maybe better for cocktails in the evening- there are much cheaper relaxing and attentive places for an afternoon tea in Manchester.

We had a ten people afternoon tea booked as part of my daughter’s hen do. The food was usual afternoon tea fayre (not enough sandwiches and too many sweet things) as expected. We were charged the discretionary 12.5% tip which they kindly removed. However the bill said £33.95 per head and everyone paid individually…. Then there was an extra £20 left, which they said was because the actual price was £35.95 each and not £33.95. By which point many of the group had paid and left. Buyer beware.. but really not good enough when your own waiters and till gets the price wrong. How difficult can it be to get the basics right? I would expect better.

I had reserved a table for 6:30 on Sunday in advance. Upon arrival, we first ordered drinks at the bar, and the table was ready right on time at 6:30. As always, the service at The Ivy was attentive without being overbearing. I had my favorite steak tartare. The table we got had plenty of space, and even though it was very busy due to Mother’s Day, the ordering and food serving were efficient and up to standard. I really like The Ivy and will definitely come again.

Celebrated my birthday here. Served by Cal. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, gave recommendations which were spot on. He was very friendly with the right amount of chat. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and looked stunning. I will definitely be coming back. Thankyou for a memorable evening

Celebrated my birthday here yesterday. Was very well looked after by the young man with curly hair. Very personal touch throughout. The food was delicious, lovely atmosphere and perfect service. The best Ivy restaurant outside of London.

The staff esp bar seem badly trained. Getting orders wrong. Dropping drinks on the floor when the place was relatively empty. I mean how can you in the space of 10 mins make two mistakes. No nuts for the drinks offered at bar on top? Sub par experience won’t visit again.

Great food, It is pricey but you get what you pay for. This is not the first time and I will come back.

I loved this place when I went there the first time but the service and food has really gone down hill. Had a party of 8 and the meal too four hours to complete due to the terrible lack of staff. The ones that were there tried their best but the food took ages to arrive, when it did eventually come we were missing side orders and by the time those came the rest of the meal was cold. No top-up of wine, missing starters, it was a real mess. They gave us some discount which was good but all I really wanted was a good experience.

lt was wonderful. Probably the best restaurant l've been to, great atmosphere and the food was exceptional. Service was prompt without being rushed and the price was very reasonable considering the venue and quality of food. Definitely on my "visit again" list.

We love The Ivy & have been to the one in Leeds & it was excellent. We visited here & were welcomed by all the staff & our waiter was called Alfie . He was amazing & so professional at his job . A total credit to your company . The food was amazing & the place is stunning . The ivy really knows how to treat people & the staff are obviously highly trained . Food mostly A1 although sometimes greasy. Staff wander around with their noses high ignoring the diners. Whomever set the music volume may be deaf, couldn’t hear my fellow diners. Didn’t choose to dine in a disco.

Gorgeous place went on 17th March and the only downside was it was so cold in the restaurant, food, service was just perfect.

Always a delight - food is always delicious, the setting is beautiful and the staff were attentive. I had the Shepherd's pie, which was delish and my friend had the filet steak, which she raved about. It's not the best value, given the portion sizes but it's consistent, the food tastes great and it always feels like a treat to be in that gorgeous environment 😍😁

Treated my Husband to afternoon tea on the rooftop terrace, we were spoilt rotten & the food was simply delicious. Teeny weeny sandwiches & a selection of posh little cakes, & an ice cold glass of champagne...he even got a birthday cake complete with a gold candle! Nothing was too much trouble & we were made to feel so special in such beautiful surroundings. Loved it so much we are going back for a champagne meal for 2 in a couple of weeks 🩷At the end of our meal we were given little boxes of chocolates to take home 🩷

Could not fault the experience. Possibility one of my best ever visits to a restaurant. The staff especially our waitress went above and beyond, she ensured we had the best experience I saw one waiter sing happy birthday 3 times and each time with the same enthusiasm.!! This restaurant is a must. Food is amazing and its presentation is a feast for the eyes. The interior is beyond belief. And the bathroom well honestly I could have stayed there all night beautiful. Really enjoyed our lunch . Very friendly waitress who really took care of us . Nice atmosphere. Food was nice and tasty , we choose from a la carte and monthly special a bit higher prices as nothing really from the set menu that caught our attention. The dessert was the high point , delicious and well presented . Apple tart was fine , topped with caramelized nuts just to give a nice touch , with cinnamon and flambé calvados . Exceptional vanilla ice cream from Madagascar . But bear in mind it takes 14 mns to make so if you are in a lunch break take that into consideration.

I genuinely had high expectations for this place but the food just does not do it for me. Mind you, for a small sized dish like the milanese you are paying over £30 and it does not even come with fries or potatoes. The drinks on the other size, are really good I’d say. I recommend the cherry spritz. Service also really nice and friendly, typical at these places. The moment it gets busier, they are definitely not that around you anymore and just focus on bigger tables that spend more money…. 2 mains & starters, 1 dessert and 4 cocktails for 2 people…£164 judge it for yourself

We’ve now visited every floor at The Ivy Spinningfields, have to say we have not had anything other than a great experience. Always a great welcome from the minute you arrive. Service friendly and efficient, Sebastiano was brilliant. Food was delivered hot and the presentation amazing. Highly recommended.

Overpriced and underwhelming. We dined in the brasserie, I had the lobster pasta and it was so overcooked I couldn’t eat it, no seasoning or sauce very disappointing. The rest of the food my table had was just average. Service was not good. Our main server was good but then after he went on his break everyone else who served us was impolite. They blamed other people for their mistakes, tried to open a screw top wine with a cork bottle opener, snatched cutlery from us and forgot items we had ordered. There was no communication or apologies. Would not recommend.

Went to the Ivy for lunch yesterday for my mums birthday, after a slight table hiccup which was sorted we had an amazing time! The food was great and the service from Summer was even better! We came on New Year’s Day and Summer looked after us then as well, she is professional, organised and made us all feel really welcome and looked after.

Beautiful ambience. Customer-friendly and tasty meal. In particular, the grill was nice.

My wife and I were a walk in after attending an event nearby. First time for both of us and we very well looked after with special thanks to Andrew C and Charlotte. We had the 1917 menu which is excellent value. Chicken satay skewers and the haddock/salmon fishcake re commanded. My wife gave age creme brûlée 10/10. The decor is very impressive especially the art prints.Thanks from Marc and Joanne.

Although I normally love it here, unfortunately I have been left with no other choice than to give a bad review. I had booked a specific menu for my Son’s 18th birthday and noticed on the morning of his 18th that the menu wasn’t showing as available anymore. After 2 phone calls to the venue I was reassured that although the menu wasn’t available to book online at present, we would be able to order from it upon arrival. When we arrived, we were told we would not be able to order it at all. I just feel very let down and will now not ever trust that they will deliver on their promises. They did look into it and adjusted the bill a little, but this did not in any way reflect the cost of the menu we had booked, nor did we receive any kind of apology for the way we were treated. Disappointing and very misleading. I personally won’t be going back to somewhere that cannot keep their word. In my opinion they should have made it their business to contact me to inform me of any changes so that I could have made the decision about whether I wanted to keep my booking or not. By the time we had sat down, it was too late and I really didn’t want I let my Son down on his 18th birthday. We made the very best of a bad situation. I just don’t want other people to experience this as it was incredibly unfair.
