The Ivy Soho Brasserie in City of London, Westminster

I Hope you like rodents! Apparently it is fine for them to have a massive rat 🐀 we inform that the rat was literally at the feet of one client, the waiter just seemed annoyed by our comment when we asked her to clean under the table to not attract the rat. It was disgusting under the table 😤 I will say it was not ratatouille but fatatouille! He clearly had his habits! The food deceiving compared to other Ivys where i usually eat, the only thing you have to do to prepare a salad is washing it, basics! 3/5 people were sick the next day. Please review your cleanliness.

It’s one of my favarite Bristish restaurant. Food are okay , price is reasonable . Perfext atmosphere

Not good. The music was too loud, had to raise voice to speak to waitress. Service was friendly but inefficient (food came halfway to table and was whisked away while they discussed where ut should go, even as we were saying ‘thats for us’)… all forgivable if the food is good. But it isn’t. We had crispy duck & watermelon and tempura squid. Duck salad was prepared ok, but was under seasoned. Limp leaves. Tempura batter was well done but associated dipping sauce was some claggy mouthful of nondescript pale gloop. No sharpness or freshness. Mains were chicken Milanese with a side of green beans and almonds, and a cheeseburger with parmesan fries. Under seasoned Milanese tasted of nothing but the frying oil. The chicken itself was a little overcooked. The egg on top was perfect. The green beans were like bad school veg. Straight out of the water they had been sitting in. Still retaining lots of now nearly cold water. Flaked almonds thrown on top. No seasoning and no butter - awful. Burger was poor meat overcooked. Fries were ok. We shared it all and by the end of the meal (left beans and most of the burger) the overwhelming residual taste was old oil from the Milanese. The prices are not bad but still… The waitress asked how it was and we said ‘not good’. Specifically she said the beans are supposed to be buttery. You could see on the plate they were not. No glisten at all. She did not offer any compensation. 13.5% automatic gratuity added before total!!! We paid (inc gratuity - this aint the USA so that’s unacceptable). But wont go back.

I'd been to the Ivy in York, but I liked Soho better. It had a great atmosphere and excellent food. The only thing was that it took a while to bring the bill, as if the waiters had changed shifts and forgot about us. Once we reminded them about the check, everything was fine.

I've been to this restaurant before, and once again, it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. The food was just as delicious as I remembered — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It's always a pleasure to come back here. Definitely one of my favorite spots, and I look forward to returning again soon!

Always enjoy the Ivy. We sat on the terrace which made for a great ambiance as the interior can be noisy on Saturday evening. Server was kind but made numerous errors in our meal. He also could have used a shower before his shift. That matters when you are paying as much as you do at the Ivy. Food was ok if a bit overcooked. We will return. Hope the Ivy can focus on the quality of food and staff training.

I had to leave because of the live music that was terrible. Never coming back.

Went here with some colleagues from work for a spot of lunch (May 2025). Nice venue and the food was good. We had a limited lunch menu. Lovely atmosphere. Recommended.

Staff were so friendly especially Hiza and Kayleigh. Both were very helpful, both so accommodating and made sure we had the best time. Went above and beyond!

We hadden een High Tea geboekt via manager Soho by Ivy's Garden. dit ging niet geheel goed maar mevrouw Emine heeft het helemaal goed gemaakt. Ivy mag heel blij zijn met zo'n medewerkster. Emine is Topper! Thank you hope to be there again soon!

We booked a birthday meal for 4 post-theatre on a Sunday evening at 21.15, specifically because the Ivy's own website said open until 23.00 . We actually arrived just after 21.00 (earlier than 21.15) so were not late. We ordered main courses (no starters) and wine which came very quickly. The food was good. However whilst we were still only half way through our main courses at 21.45 the waitress interrupted us to ask if we wanted a dessert and said that if we did we would have to order it now as the kitchen was closing at 22.00. 2 of us did order a dessert though we had to stop eating our main course to look at the menus which she had brought with her to the table - it was clear we were being rushed. Plates were cleared away and desserts brought immediately (only ice creams which do not require cooking). No sooner than they were served the waiter then brought the bill - without being asked - all just before 22.00. The overwhelming impression to us was that we were to leave ASAP as they wanted to close and we were no longer welcome. Why do they advertise on their website they are open on Sunday until 23.00 and still take bookings at 21.15 when they clearly wanted us to leave at 22.00 ? It spoilt a birthday meal, which was not cheap for the amount of food we had and was really a rather unpleasant experience. Be honest with your advertised times and do not accept bookings at 21.15 if you want people to leave 45mins later - or at least tell people this when you accept the booking so that they can then make a choice - we would happily have booked elsewhere if you had told us you were closing at 22.00 instead of advertising it as 23.00 We have been to many branches of the Ivy in London and in the UK including the original Ivy in West Street several times over many years - after this experience we will not be eating there again.

We had booked a High Tea via manager Soho by Ivy's Garden. This did not go entirely well but Mrs. Emine made it completely right. Ivy can be very happy with such an employee. Emine is Topper

Visited on for a stag do dinner, and what a letdown. We all ordered burgers, and every single one was dry, tasteless, and completely underwhelming. For such an expensive, "posh" place you’d expect the basics to be nailed, after all, a burger is the ABC of cooking! How does a restaurant with this reputation serve something so bland and poorly executed? The price tag made it even worse—absolute rip-off. The only thing more shocking than the food was the fact that they thought it was acceptable to serve. Wouldn’t recommend, wouldn’t return. Worst dining experience in Soho.

We waited for our mains for a long while but could see them on the pass. when arrived food was cold. However this was rectified quickly and was delicious. Service was outstanding.

This is an excellent English style classic restaurant, with a huge host of choices among worldwide good wines, as well as a wide menu, with plenty of choices among most traditional English cuisine dishes, and some variation as well. Excellent service, high quality of foods and wines, nice decorations and furnishings. It's a bit noisy, though, and lowly lit (I had to use my phone flash to read the menu). Expensive!

Great atmosphere, delicious food and good service. When the weather is nice they open the windows and it looks and feels amazing.

Arguably the best food we had in London. Hands down the worst service I’ve had in my life at a half decent restaurant. I ordered - wait for it - a beer with my shepherds pie. It never came. I waited a bit as they said it would come. It didn’t. They never came back to even check how the food was. My partner had a glass of wine before food arrived. They never offered a refill. They served us arancini without silverware or plates. The moment we stepped in, we didn’t feel welcome. I’d imagine it’s because I chose not to wear a suit. All in all, really unfortunate because the food truly was so good. The poor kitchen had to wear the brunt of the front of the house’s poor, disrespectful, and flat out lazy performance.

At the bar Mr Hugo (from Brasil) , Mr Francesco ( from Italy, Mr Simone ( from Italy ) as well as the other two young men that prepare the drinks are a great asset to your business. Very attentive and knowledgeable.Outstanding customer service ! Same with Elizabeth ( from Spain ) at the entrance greeting the customers . They all made both evenings last Mother’s Day weekend very special for my mother and myself. Thank you so much!!

Very disappointing visit. I've been to the Ivy Soho many times before and never had any complaints, but this time was a let down. The French onion soup was cold; the plate it arrived on was dirty and had spinach from the previous diner on it. The women's toilets were, frankly, disgusting and I wasn't the only one that decided to not use them. Edit: I reached out to 'discuss this further' and never received a response.

Sat at the bar for a cocktail for a friends birthday and we were served waters almost immediately. Gave us some time to look over the menu and as soon as we had decided, appeared to take our order as if by magic. Drinks arrived quickly and were delicious! Highly recommend the strawberry mojito!

I had the worst ever Chicken Milanese here yesterday. How a chicken could be this worse I don’t know! It was smelly not because of truffle sauce the chicken it self was smelly! The taste was like paper too. The breakfast tea was the only good thing.

We had a fantastic lunch at The Ivy Soho! The setting was beautiful, and the service made it even more memorable. Kayleigh was especially lovely — warm, attentive, and very considerate about a no-sodium dietary need at our table. Deniz and Abel were also incredibly kind and made us feel right at home. Our lunch at The Ivy Soho was absolutely lovely, and Kayleigh made the experience even better. We have been before and really enjoy it The whole experience was great, food , atmosphere, and service was spot on , but what added to our great night out was the attentive service from one of the staff , a lady called Kayleigh who was friendly, funny and a pleasure to be served by The vibe and atmosphere in the restaurant was great and I would recommend this place to dine

Had a lovely lunch with complimentary champagne - due to previous disaster. Food was good. Presented really well. The scallops were over cooked probably because they are so small but the overall taste was good. Service was excellent and the experience has restored my faith in the brand. Be back soon.

So, I had a great meal served by a delightful young lady, but when it came time to pay the bill, the first one I was shown charged me for two 1917 dinners (two courses) yet I had eaten alone. Fortunately, this was rectified by the charming young lady. I redeemed points that I had to a value of £18 or thereabouts, and that showed on the bill, but then the money I spent above and aside from that redemption does not appear to have garnered me any more points. Strange. Despite the lovely service and excellent food (and due also to the billing error) I may have to reconsider my dining choices in the future. Be warned, my friends, always check the bill.

We found this place online, and thought that it would be a good place to end our vacation. During our time in the restaurant we had all of our service on time and nice, this was all the doing of Somil👍. One of our steaks was a little bit burned, and Somil made sure we got a better steak, and that we didn’t had to pay for the burned one. We had a really pleasent time in ‘The Ivy’ and if we ever come back to London we will be back! (And thanks Somil, you were really kind😉)

Martina gave us breath taking service from the moment we walked through the doors. The ambiance was top tier in the restaurant and then Martina’s personable personality really sealed the meal for us. The food was DELICIOUS, I was in a food coma after! My bestfriend was surprised with a delicious dessert for her birthday and it really set the tone for our mini vacay. We cannot wait to come back and see Martina and to relax in this space again!

I have eaten at The Ivy in Oxford and loved the experience and the food, so my friend and I went for dinner after seeing a show. The music was so loud that we were finding it hard to chat. I had the fish and chips again as it was amazing when I had it in Oxford. It was nothing special this time. I’ve had better from a fish and chip shop. I also felt it was rude that staff were walking around every so often with iPads looking to see where you were with your dining. It was so obvious that they wanted you out as soon as possible. And then there was the 13% surcharge!!!! Not sure what we were paying that for. The service was not outstanding. It was such a shame way to finish our day.

We had a great dinner with my 5.5 year old daughter. The dishes were tasty and well served. The neat and pleasant decoration. The service was very friendly and professional (thanks to Merline). Downside for the noise in the room, difficult to hear each other and converse. This is partly due to the success of the establishment and its large size. We will come back.

The Avocado and roasted tomato toast was not good. Really dry and the tomatoes had no taste to them. The Bircher Müsli was way too small. Overall the price and the food didn’t meet my expectations.

Highly overrated brasserie. The food was average at best. The service was slow and perfunctory. The atmosphere is lovely and the only saving grace. This is nit picky but I only wanted water to drink and I am fine with tap water. Didn’t realise that I was being charged £6 for still water. With so much to choose in Soho I recommend looking elsewhere.

Typical franchise restaurant for the middle and lower class. The interior very nice. The food with a British measure is quite good. The staff is the weakest point, really hectic.

The food is like something from the supermarket and the staff have little to no skills regarding etiquette or customer interaction. Won’t waste my time or money again.
