My first experience I felt wasn't great. As a party of four, we reserved our table. They allow you to be at the table no more than 2 hours. we felt we were being rushed. The food was nice. I had the Ivy Burger, which was amazing. The waiting staff was very disinterested. Food was being taken away from the table when we hadn't quite finished. The waiting staff were handling dishes and putting them down over us instead of moving around the table. The manager was standing and watching but not saying a word. I heard a lot of things about the ivy, but unfortunately, my experience there, along with my other girl friends, wasn't great. It was an experience but one that I will not be repeating. Overall, the cleanliness was good.

Came here for breakfast and loved it. Great food as you can imagine - and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back here

Found a hair in one of our mains. Staff apologised and took it off the bill. Had to ask for my drink twice and was delivered the wrong drink. Not the best of my experiences at one of The Ivy’s restaurants. Not sure I would recommend.

Amazing experience. A 5 star worthy restaurant but at an affordable price. The two courses for £20 is a brilliant and fair idea. Our server Abel was very lovely and welcoming who was attentive and considerate. A server who makes conversation is always a must! As two students this was the perfect celebratory dinner. I would recommend The Ivy to anyone looking to dine at a restaurant worth your money and time. Will be coming back.

Although booked in advance given a poor table, waited for water for quite a long time and for someone to at least say hello. Been to better Ivy’s than this one. Would not go back for a while.

Group of 5 visited this restaurant. We had three courses. All the food was great. However the waiter missed items from the main course and desert. Simply ignored or didn't listen . When the dishes arrived without the items he apologised and we got them on the house. good service recovery. But it shouldn't happen. Was a bit over priced.

Lovely experience, but not good for vegetarians and if you are a vegan, forget it!

We were part of a private function through work for a pre theatre meal. Everything went smoothly, food was delicious and the waiters friendly and attentive. Really nice setting, we had a room hidden up the back. Central location near lots of theatres and bars.

We visited this restaurant in Dec 2023 and the experience was disappointing, but top marks to the management for responding to the feedback and giving us the opportunity to try again. We don’t visit London very often and when we told friends we were returning everyone advised us against it in case we were disappointed again. Well we are so pleased we returned as we had a wonderful experience and we are glad we gave the restaurant a second try. Staff were friendly and attentive- not only to us, but there was a great vibe in the restaurant and the tables around were all receiving attention and good service. We must say a huge thanks in particular to Eni who was perfect and made the meal feel very special. The food was tasty and we were happy with our choices- shepherds pie, Mexican style flat iron chicken, followed by a crème brûlée and a chocolate bombe (this was excellent). Decor is lovely, the atmosphere was good and there was plenty of choice of food and drink. We had a martini which came with pickles which we will replicate at home when we next have a martini. Thanks to staff for turning it round and giving us the experience we’d hoped for previously. We will be returning in the future.

Thank you so much for your great hospitality! We enjoyed ourselves very much, we loved the ambiance, the staff and the food especially the dessert with big flames from the Calvados! As well as the restroom filled with roses and lovely music! Next time we're in London we're definitely coming to your Ivy Soho again!

I love the Ivy restaurants but I was slightly disappointed with the service on this visit. Whilst the staff were warm, friendly and professional they were so slow and far from attentive as we had to constantly try to gain attention of a passing waiter for a wine order or even the bill. Which was a let down but the food was fabulous as always. Perhaps a little tweaking is needed to get the finely tuned buzz back that I’d always recognised at this venue.

Sad to see what was once a great venue ruined by poor service. In short- drinks served 25 minutes after being ordered and after food, a waiter that was unwelcoming, Fish and Chips that were drowning in oil (half a portion left on the plate and I was never asked why), to top it off a cocktail olive bamboo stick used as tooth picks (it’s sharp and not gum friendly). Get your act together, this used to be a great place.

We were there as part of our daughter's Hen. The six of us were greeted by very friendly staff, who were wonderful and accommodating. Our Bruchtime was great. I would highly recommend Ivy Soho for special celebrations.

We had dinner here after excluding 2 other places that were no longer accepting customers at 9pm on Sunday evening, but it went more than well. High count, but in this case deserved.

Went to the ivy for lunch yeasterday ! Such a shame it was so bad . Me and my friend had the worst prawn cocktails starters , discusting . Complained to the waiter and his reply was ok . Nothing else . Ordered a £47 bottle of red wine , was fine drinking that then the waiter just bought a different bottle up as well opened it and left it on the table before we had finished drinking the other bottle . Felt obliged to drink some and just left half of it . Main courses were ok , tasteless , bill was £367 , should have chucked the money down the nearest drain ,waiter asked us if everything was ok and i replyed no and he said ok again😂😂 shame had lunch there day after my sons wedding around the corner . Bas choice ! Never mind

So bad ! Me & my friend both had Prawn cocktail , swimming in sauce then the waiter poured some red sauce over it as well , so made it even worse , not good ! We ordered a bottle of red wine , which was fine then the waiter bought up another bottle of a different wine while we still drinking the other one and just opened and left on the table , we felt obliged to drink some of it but left half so a wasted £57 ! Main courses were ok, the waiter asked me if everything was ok and i said no and he replyed ! Ok😂! So why bother . Shame i bring clients here a lot and my office use’s it , but will let people know now not to bother . Shame was having a great weekend 150 of us in the soho hotel for our son’s wedding , told our party if they thinking of going there dont bother , treat yourself to a nice pair of trainers instead . Soo upset ,

Simple, no frills food that tastes consistently good.

Great staff and great vibe but tasteless and really bad food and way too loud music so you couldn’t keep a conversation.

The food was very bland and for the price not great. I am not impressed and I'm not full, that says a lot because I don't eat much! The service was good, though Abdil was very nice!

We had a fantastic dinner at the Ivy Soho. The food was delicious, the atmosphere and the service were fantastic. We had Hugo as our waiter, and he was always paying close attention to us.

Souffles are better than Balthazar's but the service is not. Ordering 2 entrees to follow each other seemed a massive difficulty. And the chicken satay skewers ! For the price ought to be breast meat , or at least edible thigh. Several minutes masticating required. Nice sauce. As for coffee- no sugar on the table and none offered before service disappeared. A chain resting on distant laurels - its a shame as a year ago enjoyed a perfectly acceptable (and much quieter) lunch at the Windsor branch. But all in all, do better Ivy, cos there are better.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon whilst in London. The food was amazing, good quality ingredients and beautifully presented. The cocktails were great as well. Staff were really friendly and attentive. We would definitely return.

Pleasant, but slow....Went for a 3 course lunch, Starter very nice, main good but dessert rather sharp and not as advertised. Management made an effort, but sadly staff lagged behind on delivery and were really really slow, so if you are have a timeline, not for you.

Agree with other reviewers that there is a problem with attentiveness to customers. We arrived for a pre-theatre meal, but the waiting staff were all being gathered to discuss that night's service (presumably) and no-one was available from whom to order!! No-one was seeing to customers, which is VERY POOR practice! It doesn't bode well for The Ivy as an establishment. We are all still paying the same prices, and a pre-theatre arrival suggests there is a limited amount of time in which to serve. CUSTOMERS COME FIRST. There's no point in discussing performance or options, etc., if you're not ensuring there's someone active on the restaurant floor attending to customers whilst you're doing that. A very poor impression, and one which made me decide I WON'T be returning. FOOD: Good quality, presentation, portion size. Excellent. DRINKS: Also excellent. So it's a shame, then, that the service badly lets it down!!!

I love the Ivy restaurants. Always good food at good prices for nice settings. The attentiveness of the staff lets this one down. Not too friendly or attentive, and then having to wait to order more drinks This is not the norm for The Ivy.

I love The Ivy franchise. As I’ve been to several, i can confidently say that the art deco suave vibe of the soho establishment was an absolute pleasure for the eyes and pleasure for the tummy. We had amazing wine and cocktails, our server was attentive and although an item on the menu had to be amended, the staff were keen to give complimentary starters to compensate. The food was diverse and versatile, and we all adored our food. Portions were great, not too much, not too little. A lovely dining experience. Thank you x (side note: dietary restrictions can be accommodated for, but more variety comes with may contain)

Visited here for breakfast and it was very enjoyable. We opted for the set breakfast menu £15.95 plus service charge which included a juice or smoothie, mini pastries and jam and a cooked breakfast. Very good value. The restaurant was very beautiful inside. The staff were pleasant and the service good. Would return.

Booked a table for a family birthday celebration and we were really impressed by the quality of food and outstanding service. We were surprised with a round of complimentary Prosecco and a sharing dessert which was a really lovely, sincere gesture. From start to finish the meal completely exceeded our expectations. Great atmosphere for a special occasion and thank you to our lovely waitress (I think her name was Ana Maria!). Will definitely be back again for the delicious food.

The best dinner ever in London. When I stayed in London in January, this is the first restaurant that I was been. It was the best

Not been to this Ivy before (been to others), but went with clients because they had asked to try it. Food average, decor nice, but service was really terrible - weekday lunchtime with restaurant half busy but we had to keep flagging down staff to order drinks, ask where food was (it took about 30 mins to get the starters) or get plates cleared. There were plenty of staff around, but they just seemed to be milling about or talking to each other a lot in groups - they weren't watching the room and tables properly. One waitress even rolled here eyes at my client when client asked about one menu option then asked for 2 more minutes to decide on main course. Ivy is a great brand, but food was average and service was terrible - esp for price (excluding wine), so experience overall was poor.

Been to a few Ivy Brasserie restaurants and the Soho restaurant was by far the best. Especially the service and atmosphere.

Lovely atmosphere. I was expecting food and service to be fantastic! My burger was nice but nothing amazing. Service was ok but didn't feel like I could get attention of waiting staff easily. Because of this I wouldn't go again. Luckily I was with good company celebrating a birthday so had a great time.

We enjoyed Cream Teas in The Ivy. The food was great and good value. They were very busy, so it was a bit slow, which is understandable. Our issue was with the noise. There are few soft surfaces, and so the noise reverberates, making it hard to speak to people on your own table. I am sure a group with as much experience as this could resolve this.

We booked a table for 8 of us on mother's day, our reservation was for 12:00 we finally got a table at 12:30. They put us on a table that should sit max 6 at best. we ordered our food and waited an incredibly long time. Between starter and main we waited at least 45 minutes. There was a huge queue outside of people who had reservations but were being delayed for a significant time. This meant that all staff were extremely on edge at all times. We decided to not have desert as atmosphere was just not great! When the bill came they not only had decided to make our meals part of a 2 course deal which ended up for expensive instead than the normal main menu without our consent but they overcharged by a whole extra meal deal. we had to ask them to correct the bill twice! It was not the experience we expected from They Ivy. Extremally disappointed.

I took my mother here for mother’s day due to previous positive experiences I’ve had at this restaurant. The food was good & the delivery time was quick, however it does not make up for the waiting experience my family and I had while waiting for our table. I don’t write reviews but this is an instance that we haven’t experienced before. Our reservation was at 3:45pm and we arrived at the restaurant at 3:30pm. There was a long queue at the host stand, which is understandable as Mother’s Day is expected to be a busy period, so we reached the host stand at 3:50pm. We were then told that our table was not ready and asked to wait outside, which we were fine with as we thought the wait meant 10-15 mins. What actually happened was waiting in the rain & cold outside for over 1 hour just to receive our table. My party was 4pax and we saw multiple parties of 4 being sat down straight away or being asked to wait at the bar. Other parties also waited outside after us but yet they were still taken in before us. After waiting for 45 mins, my mother tried to persistently follow up on our table and we were told “5-10 mins” constantly. We were sat down at our table at 5:00pm. Considering that we arrived at 3:30, that is a 1h30m wait just to get inside the restaurant. The service inside was fine & our waiter was lovely, however our experience was bittered due to the waiting period. We were able to finish our meal quickly & leave within 1h15m, which meant our wait time was longer than our actual cover time inside the restaurant. It’s completely understandable that due to it being Mother’s Day & a Sunday afternoon that there may have been a high demand of covers & bookings, however you would think a restaurant like The Ivy would be organised in allocating tables & managing their bookings so that these instances could be avoided. I can’t feel angry at the situation, it just felt dehumanising and disappointing to be ignored & to wait for that long in the cold outside while it was raining. It’s not understandable how we can constantly be told “5 more minutes” while people who had reservations at a later time than us were being sat down quicker than us or being taken in straight away, this shouldn’t have happened without explanation regardless of busy it was. At one point the host that we initially talked to started ignoring us and we asked a different host to help us out, who then actually got us in. Food was good, our waiter was friendly, checked up on us and ensured we got our food quickly. Maybe if we went on a different day this could have been avoided but I don’t think this experience is even reasonable regardless of considering how busy it was. It just dampened the mood for our Mother’s Day celebration.

Booked a table at 5 but had to wait an extra 20 mins for a table to be available as it was quite busy.One of the waiters had a bit of an attitude. I ordered the twice baked cheese soufflé. It was very fluffy and the cheese wasn't overpowering. The food then went downhill as I ordered the tempura poké bowl. Whilst the tempura was crisp and light, the rice was clearly from a pack and there was barely any. Rice is the main body of a poké, with everything else accompanying it. In fact, the other elements to the dish were hiding underneath the tempura whilst sitting on top of the flat, square shaped rice. It wasn't very filling too. The donuts did save it though. They arrived warm and fresh, generously coated with sugar yet balanced out with a lovely dark chocolate fondue and fresh strawberries. Overall, the general experience was okay and the some of the food could be better. I think because it is based in Soho they can get away with not-so-great good and service. Would recommend but be wary of the above things. Maybe come earlier in the day.

Food in the Ivy is always good. 45 min wait for a booked and confirmed table on mother's day is ridiculous. They clearly overbooked and haven't managed this appropriately. Wouldn't book here for a special occasion. Unfortunately this is an example of corporate greed..

We sat in the middle of the restaurant, and every time the door opens, we were hit with the draft, which was very unpleasant and made the experience already less fun. There was no other table sadly available, but at a restaurant of that price category or standard, they should have something to avoid that, such as a curtain It then took a very long time to get the attention of ordering some drinks. Food is OK, nothing really that stood out, portions are partly quite small, sides are always recommended. The best thing for me was the salmon starter because of the quality. It was delicious. The chicken milanese was drenched in that sauce and very bland. So were the chips. I've tried some of my other friends' plates and, again, quite underwhelming. For what you pay and what they make it seem to be, I'd rather go somewhere else. The atmosphere is not good enough to make that the reason to go.

Place is great! Awesome vibe and decent food. The portions are small, but flavorful. Side note: this place is the king of menus. Each person receives SIX (6) menus! Wow! That was a little overwhelming. Bring your reading glasses and prepare yourself for a 30 min reading session.
