Rock solid, wonderful Austrian food and surroundings. It was my first visit, but it won't be my last as there is a great menu and wine list to be adventured.

In the recent couple of months i have visited both for brunch and dinner. The fiood is invariably very tasty, well prepared and served competently. The service is truly exceptional. The Vienna atmoshere works very well as the setting is unique. The only slighly negative is teh price and taste of the espresso.

A wonderful discovery thanks to my daughter, this Austrian type restaurant/ brasserie is full of flavours and images that takes you back in time. Great welcome by GM on a busy Saturday night, table ready in a wink, waiter remember the order without writing it down, and he gave us very good suggestions. Food is traditional with specialties, wine list is appealing. I recommend the sausages (make a mix said the waiter) with sauerkraut, taste the Austrian white or red wine you won’t be disappointed. Apple strudel is mandatory as a desert. Take a tour to the rest rooms, it’s like a tour in the Orient Express train. Enjoy

Refined Austrian restaurant for classic Austrian dishes! Make sure you have a booking even at an odd time, because this place is always busy! From the outside, it seems like a small little place at the end of Marlybone High Street, but it's actually quite spacious inside. It gives off old timey, wooden, but still bright and light atmosphere. Food wise, we went for a classic veal schnitzel and a side of kasespatzle. Both were delicious. The schnitzel was perfectly crispy on the outside and the berry compote was perfect as a topping.

This traditional restaurant is in an achingly cool.and upmarket area of London. However £17.50 for a 125ml glass of Whispering Angel is outrageous!! I can afford it but that's a hideous mark up. Great food and service, but they add a £3.00 cover charge which I assume was for the very small basket of ordinary bread. Also added 15.5% service charge. We had a table at 6pm.when it was quiet , we left at 8pm by which time very busy and noisy.

This is the second time now that the wild boar goulash was mostly plain forward fat with a tasty sauce and delicious pasta. That is not the level of food which was served in the past. We asked for a table by the window. The decor tries to be old fashioned with stuffed heads of dead boars and deer on the ceiling, yellow ceramic tiles and lots of old looking paintings hung up across the room. The staff seems overwhelmed and I had to call them over to get attention. One of us had the schnitzel which was good, the other had chicken which was rather small and hard to eat (bones) but tasted fine. The potato salad was tasty. The ice cream with peaches was disappointing. Overall a decent lunch.

Used to be a regular, but the price feels like it's gone too far north. £150 for two schnitzel (the chicken one was also extremely tough), sharing two little sides, two deserts and two glasses of riesling is too much. 15% service charge is also just too much. This had been recommended to us by friends who learned of my husband's love of Schnitzels! We arrived a little early for our booking and were sat at a lovely corner table with a great view of the whole restaurant. The decor is kitsch and cute, but not for those offended by hunting trophies! We we brought a basket of rye breads with whipped paprika butter. The breads were delicious but we were mindful of the next course so we're very restrained! For drinks, I had a Grapefruit Fizz mocktail and hubby had a low alcohol pear drink.... I've forgotten the name, but something to do with a monk! Mains obviously were Schnitzels, we both went for veal. I had the small and hubby the regular and we opted for one with "jus" (gravy) and one with ligonberry sauce. We both added the Holstein option (fried egg, capers and anchovies). Spatzle (noodles), carrots and pickled cucumber were our sides. The food arrived quickly and was very nicely presented. Schnitzels were thin, crispy and golden, just as they should be. Personally I found the noodles a little bland (I guess noodles generally are!!😄), but hubby assured me they were great. I enjoyed the pickled cucumber which was tangy and crunchy. The carrots were cooked with hazelnuts and made a tasty side. I found the egg / caper / anchovy extra rather distracting from the veal so shoved that over to hubby's plate who was very happy with that! The jus was so full of flavour: rich and creamy whilst the ligonberry sauce added a pleasant sharpness. No puddings as just too full, but they looked amazing... Next time! Our bill came to £131, so definitely not a cheap eat. The restaurant charges a cover charge per person and 15% service charge. Really good meal and a nice treat.

I had heen here a few weeks ago and it was excellent so I made a booking on Opentable last night for 7:15 to take my partner to try it out. This time however, we were met by an extremely rude host, I didn't catch his name but he had short, maybe ginger hair and a light beard and a feminine voice and was in a foul mood. I greeted him respectfully and said that we had reservations for two people that I booked on opentable, gave him my name three times because for some reason he kept getting it wrong. After finally getting my name right, he says "no booking" even after showing him the email confirmation and the opentable confirmation. Not, sorry I can't find your booking let me see what I can do, just "no booking". Now I don't know what crawled into this guy yesterday but I have never in my time living in London received such a hostile welcome. If I was not with my partner I would have pulled him aside and brought the manager over to educate him on how to speak to customers. Eventually after having to ask the host if he can do anything about a table, he lets out a huge sigh as if I just asked him to move heaven and earth and offers us a table if we can be out by 8:30, to which we accept and proceed to be taken to our table. The food was subpar, the wiener schnitzel was not seasoned and not crispy as it usually is. This experience was night and day compared to just weeks ago, all due to the host treating us horrendously. Will not be returning again, I would recommend retraining this individual to speak to people properly, especially paying customers. Part 2: A manager contacted me and offered for us to return for dinner on them, I accepted and am updating my review with my second experience. The experience we had the second time around was like night and day to the negative dinner I had previously. We were greeted by cheery staff who wanted us to be thrre. Albeit the second experience is tainted by thr fact the manager told his staff to treat us like VIP's, in this case I suppose the ends justify the means. The staff were especially kind and helpful to myself and my guest. We enjoyed the starters and the schnitzel was alright, albeit completely unseasoned. The negative experience was handled very well by management who really did want to remedy the situation. 10/10 work by management in reaching out and apologizing and inviting us back to dine.

A remarkable survivor of old Austria in the heart of London. The splendid interior tends more to Alpine kitsch than Viennese charm. We stopped for coffee and cake but it is so popular as a lunch spot that we were given a table for 30 minutes. We were also required to leave our ‘phone number “in case we leave anything” - apparently this happens all the time but seemed a bizarre request that we’ve never had before. Given the quick turnaround target, service was still incredibly lackadaisical. The coffee and food, however, were excellent. But the bill, when it arrived, included 15% service, which seemed a bit presumptuous. Even in Vienna, service is discretionary and not included. Having sampled its delights, I doubt we will be hurrying back.

I went here for lunch last week with my boyfriend and was left quite disappointed. We spent just over £100 for the two of us and definitely don’t think it was worth it. Keep in mind this restaurant is in Marylebone so of course it won’t be cheap but it should still match the quality of food and service. We were greeted by a lovely gentlemen at the desk who seated us right away even though we didn’t have a booking. The service was quick and pleasant. The food was okay but if you have spent time in Austria it’s below average. Definitely don’t recommend the Apfel strüddel for dessert. All of the plates we were given were filthy they had water marks all over them which shouldn’t be the case if you’re charging those prices. Overall I wouldn’t go here again and don’t recommend.

Adorable Bavarian eatery - Service fantastic, welcoming and warm atmosphere with traditional Viennese decor. Chocolate and apricot cake superb, as are the breakfasts. Will be returning!

We only had a few nights in London, but made sure to save one night for a wonderful meal at Fischers. Everything was delicious and service was welcoming and professional. Some of the dishes we enjoyed and would recommend were the Salmon Brotchen, Käsespätzle with bacon, Chicken Schnitzel, Weiner Schnitzel, Würstchen-Sausages (a combo of the Strasbourg smoked pork & garlic & the Käsekrainer pork & garlic stuffed with emmental), and Bananas Foster.

The atmosphere is fantastic. It really seems to be in Wien. I have been here before and I returned with high expectations. We were greeted by a great member of staff at the door which showed us our table with grace. Problems started with the staff at the table completely uninterested in offering a good experience. It looked like they just wanted to get rid of us. In fact, they succeded. We would have had dessert, we just decided to leave. It was unpleasant. A real shame.

Beautiful setting. Had to try all the Authentic Austrian food. (I know this because I was told by an Austrian gentleman we sat next to).

Both Wiener and Chicken schnitzel were great, but side dishes were not as tasty. Dinner shaped restaurant provides a cozy atmosphere.

Firstly, for journeys on The Orient Express train you join the train in Calais.

Champagne afternoon tea served in a packing case / amazing. We started with smoked salmon and this was followed by a toasted sandwich. The cold sandwiches & cakes /scones that followed were all delicious! A glass of champagne & plenty of tea - wonderful a real treat . This was a gift & we would highly recommend it. Cold at St Pancras but with heated seats who could complain .

I booked this restaurant and had confirmation of the booking. Having spent £20 getting there by taxi only to find they have closed and are no longer there it cost another £20 to go back to the hotel. Very disappointed!!!
