Went here for a quick lunch today with a friend. The food was….odd. The zucchini frittis and accompanying sauce were very strange, the sourdough was flavourless and came with my pet hate - cold, rock hard butter taken directly from the fridge, and there was something missing from the Shepherd’s pie as well, although I can’t put my finger on it. I didn’t really enjoy any of it. The set menu has a section ‘for the table’ which is chargeable. In fairness the prices are on there, we missed them, but they weren’t pointed out by the server despite my saying we were ordering from the set menu. We ended up paying full price as a result. The server was very polite but he spoke so quietly and stood so far away from the table that we could barely hear a word he was saying. I asked that the bread and frittis were served whilst we waited for the main to be cooked - I went so far as to say don’t wait to call the mains away - but this wasn’t picked up on, so we ended up running over when it was supposed to be a quick lunch so my friend could get back to work. Staff were all welcoming and smily, however. Very noisy downstairs but the private dining room where we were seated upstairs had a nice ambiance, although the loo roll holder in one of the ladies bathroom stalls was broken off. Overall, underwhelming and I don’t think I’ll be back. I had a lovely meal at The Ivy in Tunbridge Wells a few months ago so I was surprised to have such a disappointing experience at this location.

I had the pleasure of dining at The Ivy, where Kymani provided an exceptional experience from start to finish. The three-course meal was nothing short of outstanding. Kymani’s warm welcome set the perfect tone for the evening, and their attentive yet unobtrusive service truly enhanced the entire meal.

I recently had a private dinner in the private room at Ivy City Garden, and the experience was wonderful. The ambience was lovely, and the food was excellent. The waiters were attentive, frequently topping up our wine glasses, which was much appreciated. However, it did take almost 10 minutes to receive a glass of orange juice, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a great evening, and I would recommend it for a special occasion.

Held an event at The Ivy, City Garden and the experience was 5 star from start to finish. The staff were exceptional, incredibly friendly and accommodating. Food was outstanding and the whole event ran perfectly. So many compliments from those who attended, I would definitely look to use again as a venue for future events.

English breakfast: black pudding was to hard, the rest was very good. Ask for a portion of chips, it took a while, as they were not yet open for lunch, but chips were amazing, as usual.

Hwe had a lovely late lunch here after a show. It's a really good venue that feels upmarket while prices were reasonable for the standard of dining. A comfortable and relaxed experience. Very welcoming and professional staff.

Decent place with decent food and a nice wine list. Good place for a date or a business lunch. They sadly manage to ruin it with their Ivy app where they don’t give you what they promise you

Very cool ambience but very average food that is absolutely not worth the price. I had a 40 pound steak here that was barely visible with a magnifying glass and was extremely poorly cooked, actually beneath the dignity of such a high-priced shop. Seems to me to be a 'see and be seen' place, mostly attended by guests who don't seem to care about money. Stylish is definitely different overall. I wouldn't go there again.

Came here for my boyfriend’s birthday and had a really lovely evening. The food was really good and came really quickly. MD Hasan served us, he was very polite, helpful and friendly. Will definitely be returning.

Do not go to this ‘restaurant’!! So many non chain restaurants trump this ivy, food is way below average but you pay triple for it! Meat tastes frozen and comes lukewarm. Service is also so poor, we’ve never ever had worst service than here and we have dined in 100s of places! The waitress ‘Lily’ was moody, chewing gum and left us feeling shocked at her awful manner and feeling like we had done something to upset her in a previous life . For a ‘top market’ restaurant nothing reflects this. We would have had better food and service in Nando’s or even Toby carvery!! They also failed to clean up tables which people had left for over 30mins so food was left exposed and stewing for ages!! Avoid at all cost!

First time here, unfortunately the last😕 I have dined here today 24/8, and unfortunately, it was an experience I wouldn't want to repeat. The food wasn’t bad but also there was nothing great about it other than a really nice hollandaise sauce, a great glass of malbec and tasty chips with truffles and parmesan. However, the biggest letdown was the service. It was practically invisible. Our plates sat on the table long after we finished eating, with the manager or supervisor walking past multiple times, glancing at them but doing nothing. Not once did anyone come by to check if we enjoyed our food or even ask if we wanted another drink. It felt like we were completely forgotten. For a restaurant that appears to pride itself on quality, this was a disheartening experience. With such lackluster food and inattentive service, it’s hard to find a reason to return. I hope they address these issues soon, as the current state of affairs leaves much to be desired.

Lovely venue, atmosphere and food here, great for any occasion and age group (we were a table of six people, aged 3 to 80). A special mention to our server, Anca, who was brilliant and couldn’t have done more for us 😊

We waited a long time for service. I asked 3 times for the bill. We were in there for an hour and a half which I thought would be plenty of time for the booking before going to the theatre but we only managed to get one course in before having to leave. The food was good but there isn’t much variety for vegan mains. They’ve had the same 2 vegan options on the menue for over a year now.

The food is nice but the service needs improvement - there was a disconnect in communication between staff which meant our food did not arrive all together and our drinks were missed / delayed a few times. Nice enough and pleasant environment but a few significant areas for improvement - they weren't at fullest capacity at that stage either!!

I have visited The Ivy City many times before. Waited more than 20 minutes for our first pre food drinks to arrive. Food then arrived same time. Waiting staff were avoiding our ‘eye’ Batter on the fish (fish and chips) was soggy. 5 deserts ordered only 4 arrived then waited another 20 minutes for the forgotten one to arrive. One member of staff was rude and gave us ‘attitude’ when I asked where our drinks were? We were taking our early mum out for a nice day and she was feeling very uncomfortable. She didn’t want a ‘fuss’ so we ended up paying the 13.5% service charge to not make our mum feel uncomfortable any more than she already was. This morning I am so disappointed that we didn’t ask for the service charge to be taken off! Overall it was a disastrous and stressful experience for all 5 of us. Not happy at all. Would not recommend.

We came dressed in amazing clothes and we were welcomed with enormous kindness and respect. In addition to being delicious, the staff was lovely. The place is splendid. We definitely recommend!

Fab evening ' food 1917 menu was sensational- we remember the original fruit with white chocolate ( without yogurt) so v nostalgic Service amazing especially Jay who added extra layer of service ! Can't wait to return to experience this great restaurant atmosphere- see you soon !

Always a favourite place to visit and didn't disappoint!!

Went on sun 3/8 for a birthday .was completely ruined by very poor food quality. 1 Sunday roast had freezing cold Yorkshire pudding. 3 roasts had veg that was hot at one end and cold at the other.1 dessert did not arrive. 1cup of tea arrived with no water in the pot. Senior staff did not give any reason for the poor food quality. This just leads me to believe that their meals come in frozen and are popped in the microwave.Its a shame really because waitress was really lovely. I have eaten at several other ivy restaurants around the country and have really enjoyed the experience. Sadly never again .

Fantastic service by Md Hasan with great food

Wonderful decor and location. Positive sadly finish there. Food allergies expressed up front, no adaption or attempt to help .. was given one choice of main; no sides… the chips are cooked along with many other glutenous items (unlike most we’ll know venues now) … had a small piece of fish, no sides… and was violently ill so that was contaminated and I wasn’t advised. Won’t go back. Expensive mistake.

They have a stake in a set menu, it should have a warning that it is not edible. The taste is so bad and when I complained to two waitresses, they could not care less.

MD Hassan served us today and was very attentive. We love The Ivy and today was a lovely meal.

First time visiting here, but I have visited Ivy restaurants before and had a great experience. This visit was exceptionally poor. The service was incredibly slow despite the restaurant being almost completely empty. We had to ask about ordering and the bill several times. I asked for a vegan breakfast and was met with a blank stare. The staff member said they would ask their manager and chef. They never came back. Breakfast, which was billed at £15, came and consisted of two tomatoes cut in half, an avocado and a pot of beans. I asked whether the mushrooms or hash browns were vegan. Again, they went away to ask. They came back with a plate of more tomatoes, hash browns, and two mushrooms. I was then told the hash browns contained a dairy product. The food was not seasoned in any way and was lacking any flavour. They clearly don't have training on allergies or take it seriously. It's not worth taking the risk. Highly recommend avoiding.

What a wonderful birthday lunch for me and my good friend. What brilliant service we had from the beautiful Farzana who looked after us in such a lovely and attentive way. Our food was part of the £19.17 lunch menu and with cocktails, sides, a bottle of wine did take it closer to £150 but it was a special occasion. The food was very well presented and it tasted fantastic. The place was heaving for a Tuesday lunchtime and it was great to see it fully operational. As a nice little touch we were brought a celebratory dessert.

Very average food. They cannot make arancini. They're courgette fritti were too thin and too much batter. Potato rosti was not a rosti. Scallops were nice. Drinks ok.

The IVY Brighton on east st. I Havn't returned since having been presented with their house wine selections because this IVY wanted to save their very best and over priced european wines (in case of 2023 post pandemic shortages?) there wern't any!

Had the Ivy burger which was really overdone . Had to sit at the bar due to being busy and unfortunately was then ignored quite a few times, it wasn’t my best Ivy experience !

Took a client for a business dinner on a Thursday night. The decor is beautiful and the space is nice, however it was very hot and stuffy. We were all so uncomfortable, couldn’t wait to leave! felt bad for the staff having to wear full suits. Otherwise the food was 4/5 and service was ok, with some minor problems, for example we weren’t offered any desert or coffee, water wasn’t refilled, there was an issue with the bill etc.

Out of all the Ivy restaurants that I have been to, this has been the best so far. I couldn’t fault the food or service, whereas others I’ve been to the service hasn’t always been that great or the dishes haven’t been up to scratch. I will certainly be recommending this one to colleagues at work. I’ve only given 4 as the atmosphere, as much as the restaurant was stunning, the tables are very close together and could hardly hear the person opposite me speaking as it was so loud. Make sure you book because this place gets packed at lunchtime!!

Quite nice food and such a nice service

Came here for an early dinner, the restaurant atmosphere was great and staff were very kind and welcoming, food was on high level as well, but special thanks for super Ugne for making this experience so good and comfortable, she created a very warm and friendly atmosphere and made me enjoy the restaurant even more, definitely will come back!!!!

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing outstanding customer service from Ugne. From the moment I arrived, her warm and friendly demeanor made me feel truly welcome. She was quick and efficient, and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. It’s rare to find such exceptional service, and Ugne truly stands out. I highly recommend visiting Ivy City Gardens and experiencing Ugne’s top notch service firsthand! Five stars all the way!!!

We had the set lunch menu, which was absolutely delicious and very reasonable. I’d highly recommend the shepherds pie… I don’t like shepherds pie, but this was insanely good!
