The Italian Bistro in East Renfrewshire

Raging is an understatement. Order at 5:45 for a collection order (coming from East Kilbride) just pulled up out side the place for me to get a text to say it was cancelled! After it being accepted and told would be ready for 6:15! No explanation… nothing! Terrible service and a waste of fuel

I can’t believe that I was shouted at first by the owner and then the chef after he came out to shout at me also. I had only parked my car in the public space outside. Never go here.

I’m sad to say the food was bland the service was slow kids drinks warm. I have nothing good to say, it lacks atmosphere. The owner could really turn this place around by being a front man and making the customers feel wanted. This wee place needs someone to bring the atmosphere. Cheese cake and ice cream good

We organised a family meal at the Italian Bistro for 20 and had a great evening . Francesco organised a varied menu of fantastic home cooked Italian dishes . His staff were all very helpful and the night was a big success .

Great little family run bistro. Came here for lunch and tood was fabulous. Tasty and freshly cooked with generous portions . Lunch menu is great value for money and service is good too. Opted for chicken wings and pizza while the Mrs had chicken dips and spaghetti carbonara. Rounded off with two scrumptious desserts and tea . Great asset to the area Definitely recommend and will be back !

Had been before to try it and had enjoyed it. Food was decent and had a good night. Unfortunately my follow up/2nd visit will be my last. Multiple faults on the night - 45 mins to get starters, couldn’t get attention (in a tiny restaurant with only 4 tables in) for drinks orders whilst we waited for the starters, smoke alarm going off constantly (very loud and annoying) and door left open to try to stop it (it didn’t) so freezing all night. Meatballs - which had been nice when I tried before - turned to mush as soon as my fork touched them. Also supposed to come with garlic bread but there was none. Then got pineapple on my pizza instead of sweetcorn(?). By that time couldn’t be bothered mentioning as there was just too much going wrong and we wanted out. It’s a shame as I thought it would be a good addition to local places to go - I wanted to provide feedback to them personally rather than write a review but I e mailed them and no-one has got back to me, so either didn’t get my e mail or not interested in my feedback? Feel bad, as I really wanted it to be somewhere nice/informal to go.

This little bistro is wonderful! I picked up our xmas dinner on xmas eve, lentil soup, prawn cocktail, Turkey, vegetables, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy, prosecco, and your choice of wine, they had run out of small bottles of rosie and gave me a large bottle at no extra charge!!!! The food was wonderful and plenty of it!!! Staff so friendly and helpful, this will be one of my go to restaurants for carry out night at our house.

We held a surprise birthday lunch here with seven friends. It was a lovely meal. The food was tasty and filling and the service was friendly and efficient. Will definitely return.

We haven’t eaten in yet but have had three or four take away meals. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced for the quality and portions. It makes an excellent choice for those nights when no one wants to cook yet you don’t want to go full on takeout. Looking forward to our next meal!

I ate here with 3 friends in early November. its a small local restaurant with free street parking immediately outside. This was previously The Wee Bistro (under different ownership I understand). Inside there is seating for about 50 max. The greeting on arrival was friendly and this was the case throughout. It wasnt very busy when we visited (c7pm on a Tuesday evening - so not a huge surprise it was quiet). They have a full menu with lots of Italian favourites - starters, mains and desserts. I had mozzarella fritti to start (a huge portion) followed by chicken stroganoff with chips/fries and a fantastic tiramisu to finish. All of the food was excellent and the portions were a good size. We all had 3 courses along with a soft drink each and coffees all round. The bill was £22.20 each plus tip (leave a good tip for good service) which was extraordinarily good value - especially as it wasnt discounted or reduced by any special offer. I would happily return here.
