Great pub staff friendly and prices are great too

It's a sports bar. Cheap fosters lager £2.80 a pint. Lots of TV screens. Good atmosphere. No kids. Doesn't serve food.

Bit of a dump. Needs a good clean. Most thing's broke. Very slow service. Good things cheap drinks and music.

Cheap beer, former spoons so it’s a hike to go for a pee!

I did not go in I just walked past.it. we used to go in all the time, from before and when the children were born. They are now 8 and 12 but that's when they used to serve meals. Nowadays we have to go to Cwmbran which is a pity.

Lovely pub, always moderately busy, friendly and reasonably priced. Unfortunately they don't do food, also children aren't allowed in but a lovely pub to relax in child free.

Lovely place always smells really clean and fresh . Excellent service lovely staff who are always really friendly . We go in each day after going to the gym. The coffee is delicious.

I frequent IRON DUKE regularly. It’s our largest public house. Landlord Fred and family have proven to be professional and warm I have issues they make me feel safe xx

I just went to go in there with my husband and my 6th month old daughter and was asked to leave as children are not allowed on the premises. I was told as it is no longer a wetherspoons we had to leave. I don't know what damage a 6 month old in a pram can do. That means that there is no longer a cheap family restaurant in pontypool. Thanks.

Ever since spoons got removed, this place has been a bustling place to drink, eat and generally have a good time. Love the place!

Unlike what this is tagged as, it's not a restaurant. Music in the venue was far too loud on a Sunday evening (!) And quite a lot of undesirable people attending on Friday and Saturday nights. Only saving grace is that the staff are friendly. Was ultimately better when it was a Wetherspoons.

Always a friendly and definitely not clicky, everyone welcomes everyone. All pubs have regulars, that don't make them clicky or ignorant,. I always look forward to going in, I've not had a bad experience there personally in last 3 years I've been going, & I am from Manchester, poor them but they tolerate me ha ha Anne-Marie XX Need Food, then would be a 5 from me probs

Absolutely shocking service waited about 4 hours for my breakfast wrap
