Beautiful pizzas! My 3rd visit and I’ll definitely always recommend it. Nothing fancy but absolutely delicious pizzas are made and eaten here!

The Ionian is placed in a beautiful location and serves fantastic food for great value. Both the pizza and gyros were delicious and a great portion.

My friend and I heard about the Ionian and it was a beautiful day (30/4) so we went to check it out. We ordered our food in the morning, on the phone, for 7pm and got there at about 6.45. There was quite a queue waiting to get their order confirmed but while we waited in the queue we had a chance to look at some of the rustic pottery on sale, the beautiful organic veggies and some artisan jewellery on display. We confirmed out booking and were given a bleeper to let us know when our food was ready and it was ready in about 10/15 minutes. The food was served in cardboard boxes and we sat outside in the sunshine, looking out across the fields where sheep peacefully grazed. The food was delicious! We had lamb kebabs, two different sauces (tzaziki and garlic mayo), flat breads and some other type of flatbread I hadn't seen before which was also delicious, a big pile of home made tapenade, divine chips, absolutely delicious home grown salad - all in all it was a really lovely, relaxed, open air and perfectly friendly meal in the countryside. I'd recommend it to anyone who's not expecting fine dining, obviously. Very good, we'll definitely go again and recommend it to our friends.

I love it here it's a little far from home but don't get to go as often as I would like. I have occasionally had a not amazing pizza (one was burnt as it was very busy) come out but when I have I have acted like and adult and brought it to the staffs attention and they have always resolved it swiftly and politely. As someone who worked in customer service if a 12 top half walked in during the quite part of the day with no notice I would find it hard not to be rude also. Basically this place is awesome but it's run by human beings who sometimes make mistakes, not robots. If you like that sort of place dursley has a dominos ... Just saying.

Food was bland, burnt and over salted. Waiting staff were rude and seemed judgmental. Badly organised, well over priced and truly not with it. Disappointed considering the good reviews online. Not worth it at all.

This was the kids choice of a new year's treat. We've eaten here before and in the summer the kids had a stunning meal here. Sadly tonight the pizzas were burnt - almost to the point of being completely inedible - especially in the case of 1 of the 4 pizza that you could literally snap but not chew. I hate stating this as previously it's been great. It may just be a 1 off, but we felt we'd wasted just under £50 - deffo won't be going back.

Bit dissapointed... we were so excited to find this place as a midpoint on our journey for our easter break because of our love of greek food. The place is rustic and is surrounded by lambs which the children loved. It was a nice day we sat outside. I had read on the website that food needed to be pre ordered.. thought it was a bit strange but we phoned and placed our order. Due to traffic we arrived 30minutes late, not realising that they make your food ready for the exact time of arrival!!!! The lady did not tell me this on the phone! When we arrived an older lady with grey hair barked at me for being late! I said I was ever to sorry but the traffic had been awful... she pointed to our food which had been sat going cold on the side! So we sat and ate our cold food which was ridiculously salty... to the point our mouth hurt! We defintley would not return again... absolutely awful customer service - which looking at the previous reviews wasn't just us!

Outstanding lamb burger and oregano fries. Great location, lovely setting, fantastic food, what more could you ask for.

Found the staff extremely rude. There was a dog sleeping outside in the rain multiple times. Standard of food has dropped dramatically.

I am so sorry to be writing this review. I am a local and I have been coming here for years. I've always had great food and amazing service. However today... the food was amazing as always...but the service was such a let down 😞. There's one member of staff here - whom I have never seen before ( darker hair, older lady). There was around 12 of us today and we came it at 3.30pm. There was only 2 other customers here, so the place was empty... we spent £150 here and we were just an absolute inconvenience. Said that we should have pre booked - I appreciated that - but she said the kitchen were having a break and we would have to wait.... this was fine by us. However, felt that we were totally inconveniencing her. We asked her for some forks when I food came... she tutted and rolled her eyes! Totally disgusted. I love the ionaian. But I hope to never see this woman working here again. Not a credit to the ionian. I must say that over the years of coming here previously the staff have been an absolute delight 😊. This particular member of staff is particularly damaging to the ionian.

Have been here a few times for a carry out and until recently, would have given 4 stars. However, the last two times the pizzas haven't been as good. And, if you like your chillies, you may be disappointed. They must use the blandest ones available; couldn't taste them on recent visits even though asked for extra.

We were staying in Slimbridge for the weekend and decided to pop here for our evening meal on Friday. I initially called to place the food order and then made a short 2 mile trip to get there. On arrival we see a dilapidated shack in the middle of nowhere and inside it looks somewhat bohemian and more like a student hangout! Anyhow, unperturbed we sat and awaited our food. The food itself is the most glorious street food. The garlic bread was generously topped with fresh mozzarella, the oregano fries were perfect and the chicken was delightful and good quality meat. We were almost tempted to come back the very next night to try the pizzas, but then thought as we are only in the area for 2 nights, best to try something else new.

Our order was completely incorrect which we discovered when we got home. I immediately rang to inform them of this, they didn’t answer their phone. I left a message detailing the issue and giving my phone number, I heard nothing at all from them. In addition the food we did receive was very small portions and did not reflect the expensive costs, three pieces of lamb in a gyro! Used to be great place to order food, but we won’t be returning.

We have tried to catch the Ionian out by ordering different foods at different times hoping their standards would slip so we could complain, but so far they have been 5 stars every time we go there. The war is not yet over. Lovely food, lovely people delicious desserts.
