The Inn @ West End in Surrey Heath

Sunday Lunch was a fabulous Gastro experience, The service was great and the food was exceptional. I fully recommend the best of both worlds (Turkey and Beef) but suggest you skip breakfast beforehand to leave space for it. Good atmosphere, Good Food great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.. and will certainly be returning soon, hopefully to sample the a la carte menu again.

We were seated in the rather gloomy bar area for our breakfast. We have enjoyed breakfast here in the past but today was an exception. We ordered two English breakfasts. When they arrived, the very small piece of bacon on both plates was rock hard and completely inedible, obviously been hanging around in the kitchen and should never have been put on plates. I very rarely complain about anything but on this occasion the waitress replaced the bacon promptly and we got two pieces each! I think for £13.50 each plus service charge which I didn’t realise until we left, this was disappointing.

Just had my 2nd stay and again it was fabulous. The bedrooms are just beautiful and attention to detail is second to none. The hot drink selection in the room is huge. The 10/10 breakfast is included as are complimentory bottles of water. We stayed just because we wanted to as it was solovely last time. We also had a meal that evening. As usual food was fabulous staff are nice and attentive. Well done to all. I will be back soon.

Over the past five years, the food and service here has deteriorated…significantly. Tonight we paid £72 for bagged lettuce, two slices of avocado each, some cold diced sweet potatoes, tinned corn and black beans. I add grilled … not grilled and cold hullomi and my partner had grilled cold chicken. Fries as extras not included were over fried, too crispy but still cold. And with this they added £8 service! We had three beers in total and I wish we’d just had the beer and gone to the Sun Inn for actual food. When our full plates were collected they weren’t even interested to know why we’d left it. Total rip off - won’t be returning.

We went for an evening meal and sat in the private room, the service was excellent. All the staff extremely helpful and keen to ensure we enjoyed our food. One of us was coeliac and they provided a menu with what was specifically suitable for her. Our food was delicious, there’s a large choice. The decor is tasteful, with a great garden area including pods to sit in.

Stayed for a night 3rd July. Very welcoming and friendly, warm comfortable room, and , for once, i could work the TV and the lighting. Supper excellent, service very good. Highly recommended. Impossible to fault.

we took some friends from the states who had never experienced an english pub, we had a lovely welcome from the staff so friendly and helpful, especially a delightful young chap behind the bar, called Aidan who I have to say is a real asset to them. Our visitors absolutely loved their evening , so very happy and will re visit very soon. Thank you .

Popped in for Sunday breakfast. Service excellent, piping hot and good quality food. We will definitely be returning.

My second visit for a meal in as many weeks. On both occasions the staff were very friendly & helpful, unfortunately the kitchen let them down. Waiting time for the arrival of the food was unacceptable & the quality poor.

The food at this restaurant is reliable and the staff helpful. This time it was very busy and we had a small problem with the booking. Exacerbated by the manager trying to bully us into accepting a 'crap' table in the bar but after that was sorted (by one of the staff) we had a good meal and another nice evening. Thank you, whoever you are.

The pub looks lovely and the staff are excellent, the food however isn't. The “chef special” of burger, melted brie and cranberry was pretty average and the chips were cold.

Wow we booked into this pub as attending a funeral near by that day. What an absolute treat it has been from first impressions what a pretty place. We had drinks, dinner & breakfast after staying over in one of the fantastic lodges on site. Everything is to a high standard the room was just beautiful and had our best nights sleep in ages so grateful. The staff are so friendly & inviting. We will come back for a long weekend next time now we’ve found this delightful place . Highly recommend the fish pie it’s moorish . If you want a fabulous pub, with a lodge to stay at offering top quality beers, wine & food book this place you won’t be disappointed. If your a shooter they also offer a fun safe in all the rooms free.

37 members of the Lightwater WI went to the restaurant for their Christmas meal. We chose our food from the Festive Menu. From the time of booking to the meal itself the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food and presentation was really good. Everyone was very pleased and we will be booing again next year.

Lovely place to stay. Great food, accommodation comfortable and quiet. But what I loved most of all were the staff, all happy, friendly and polite with a great sense of humour.

Been coming to The Inn at West End for many years although it tends to now only be a couple of times a year as we now Iive approx an hour away and no longer in the local area. Booked a table yesterday lunchtime and decided to go in a pod outside as we had our dog with us and inside in the bar area (where you can usually dine when you have a dog with you), was a private party going on. Despite the pub being very busy due to the private lunchtime party, we were given excellent service by all the staff. In particular Mandy who was wearing an "in training" badge - you are doing a great job and a real asset to the team. Sitting outside in a pod is fabulous when you are dining with your dog and is nice and cosy with the heater on too. As always, the food was amazing and everyone made a fuss of Willow our Cocker Spaniel - especially as it was her birthday. Lots of fuss and attention so she was happy too! We will be back next time we are in the area.

Honestly one of the best evenings I’ve had. We were a party of 8 of all ranges and different tastes. The menu had something for everyone and it was all delicious. We visiting this evening for my Nans birthday and although not stated on booking, they saw card and gifts on the table and off their own accord the staff brought out a beautifully decorated plate with a cookie that had a candle in it! It truly was special. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble! Can’t thank the team here enough for making a good evening great! We will definitely be returning.

I used to love going here with my grandparents and family when I was a kid and it’s still an amazing atmosphere with good food and friendly service. However, and I don’t say this lightly, I was disappointed when I went there on my birthday in September. Being an ex- server myself I know how hard it can be juggling responsibilities, but our service was incredibly poor. We had a booking for 6:30 and left at 10, and I get we were a large group (9 people), but there was a large group opposite us who arrived later and got served before us (we waited 40 mins to get food orders taken). That’s fine but then our waiter only cleared a few plates every so often after each course. Then we watched as the other table (also a large group with a later booking), got their birthday cake brought out, then a birthday dessert. While they just gave us dessert menus after a while (around an hour after the other tables cake) completely forgetting we had a cake at the back. Kinda felt neglected a little especially on my 21st and it just made things awkward, but the food was lovely. Hence why because of previous experiences here and great food this is 3 stars and not 1 or 5. 🤷‍♀️

Went for a Sunday catch up with a friend. Nice food. Chilled atmosphere with lots of families. Menu had a range of classic pub’s style dishes. My caramel and pecan sundae was a fab treat. Not necessarily a complaint just a suggestion staff should do more training on what drinks are on offer and advised to tell customers ‘let me check for you’ if they don’t actually know!
