1 of the worst chippys in the area. Chips not even cooked properly, half of them were raw, the curry sauce is watered down, the battered sausage was soggy and looked undercooked. I can see why this place is so cheap compared to better chiipys in the area, west Bridgford has lots of better places than this. Also the packaging is rubbish and will most likely leak. Wouldn’t even eat here again if it was free. The kebab meat also looked days old and will most likely give you the runs the next day. The only part I enjoyed about it was spitting this trash out and binning it.

Was going to leave a 3 star because the food is tasty but portions are a bit silly, "large" sauce is definitely "regular" (its the same size as my tiny hand lol) and the large chips was barely enough for two adults... then I pulled a short black hair out of the beef & onion in my mouth 🤢 will stick with Kerry's in future I guess 🫠

Nice food good presentation big portions and listened to our instructions of extra sauce for one and no onion on another. The kebab meat could do with a little more seasoning. Overall would order again

I used to use this place regularly and it was good. But due to an apparent change in management/ownership it dropped off a bit, most especially with the service - the people serving would often ignore you, after casting a glance. So I stopped going. However, I've used it a couple of times recently (it seems it is under new management again). The first time was brilliant - the guy doing the cooking was also serving, and he was friendly and efficient. The next time, someone else was serving and it took several minutes for them to come out of the back room. The fish and mushy peas are fine, as are the chips. And they also do battered burgers, which are also nice. Edit: I have ramped my score up to 5. I've been using this chippie now since the new owners/operators took over and they really are absolutely brilliant. Very friendly, too. Previous comments relate to how it was. Right now, it is an excellent chip shop.

Used this chippy for years even though there is a closer one at top shops always been loyal Ordered nuggets , gravy which my driver stole rang the shop to be told the driver must of stole it and to take it up with uber eats That is were locality gets you

Dry kebab, fried chicken only tasted of grease. Even the cat wouldn’t eats any of it.

10/10 nice place good khebabs also you should also try their peppers.

Had a chicken burger it's was cooked to perfection the salad on it was so fresh I really enjoyed it

Honestly the worst place ever. We ordered 2 burgers (1 chicken, 1 beef) (with salad and mayo) and chips (x1 with curry sauce x1 with cheese), they came with no salad or sauce on the burgers the beef burger was hard and burnt and the chicken burger was mushy. The chips taste like the were made last week and the curry sauce was just like really thick jelly. Now even after all that I thought I’d still give it a go and eat it. That didn’t work out well for me, the chicken burger somehow tasted as if there was sand inside it. I tried to see what it was but couldn’t see a thing. Had to throw EVERYTHING away! Not one thing was edible!

Never had a problem! Food is always hot. Every time I have ordered from home they have never missed a thing. Always perfect!

It's about time the oil was changed as for a while now the chips are always covered in bits and not from the fish either

Cod roe, pie and saveloy all had to go in the bin. Chips were passable but not great. Drink did not arrive. Very poor which I admit i unusual for this place

Tried various times but still the same vile food 🤢🤮 Soggy tasteless and inedible . I’m surprised it is still open with the poor quality of food they serve . Awful 🤢🤢🤢🤮

My usual place as it's round the corner, really lovely chips and a cracking battered burger. My only complaint is there's never enough salt/vinegar.

My granddaughter goes there every Thursday for her mini fish and chips, the staff call her mini and she knows they are the best by far

3 large bags of chips, red hot cooked to perfection. Never had a bad bag of chips. Friendly staff.

I ordered a small kebab from there last night with no salad or no sauce and a large bag of chips with salt and vinegar, when it came it’s was cold they’ve put garlic mayo on it when I didn’t want no mayo on it the chips was uncooked. Please do not send your kids or yourself

Lovely staff but I think the delivery orders take priority over the customers in the shop. Used to always come here but since lockdown I've found that the waiting time in shop takes longer and longer. Last time I waited 15 minutes for undercooked chips and soggy fish. If you have transport I recommend going to Ruddington or west bridgeford(wolds). Overall time from leaving home to getting back is no different but the food is far superior. Shame really, this used to be the best chippy in clifton. Edit-recently went back here for a quick bag of chips and can honestly say they were some of the nicest chips I've ever had. Been again since then and the chips were still top tier. Thought it only fair I change my review from a 2 to a 4 stars.

Yum. The chips are the best and filled me up with some curry sauce in my gap in my shift. Kept me going til 11.30pm they did. Staff are lovely too 😊

Lovely fish and chips and mushies

Ordered from here last night for my 9 year old daughter. She had battered sausage and chips. By 2am she was throwing her guts up and has not stopped for 12 hours! It's the only thing we have eaten different throughout Christmas me and my husband ordered from a different takeaway. Sorry but will never order from here again.

Ordered chicken meat and chips. Got chips and around 9 small peices of chicken and a few scrappy bits, absolute joke for the price. Nòt the first time either.

In my opinion by far the best chip shop in Clifton. Particularly like the doner meat here. I call in advance when possible for collection or I have it delivered at no extra charge. The shop is cash only which is unfortunate. A card machines does not cost that much to have.

Lots of choices. The food is good and although the staff were slow because there was a queue it was hot and tasty.

Poor customer service. Was told 45mins for delivery, 1hour and 30mins later still no food, called up to chase food and they shout over the phone thats another one. No great customer service.

Made a order for food. items missing. Chips cold .rang to complain was called a liar and server stated that chips was just taken out of the fryer . Asked for refund refund given. owner cant take customers feedback and banned me from ordering its ok keep your manky cold chips i wont be using ur chip shop again benny

My absolute favourite chip shop in the world ever, have been coming here since I was probably 4/5? So over 20 years, and my parents even before that! I’ve had the same order, donner cob with chips and lettuce, mayo salt and vinegar! Have been coming for 20 years and hope to carry on going for another 20!

Daughter went in for same food as we always have and got over charged by 60p.When I phoned to get it resolved.Assistant says the price was correct.Very unhelpful.Wont ever go in again.

Nice clean premises and friendly staff. However, as I've found at all Nottingham chip shops, the chips ate cold, even when they come out of the fryer. Fish is always a fair size but batter is rarely crispy. My other half doesn't do vinegar, so can't blame that.

Been a chip shop since I was a kid, always nice food.

Probably the worst meal I had in the country. They coudnt even cook the chips right ! Dirty brown color with a bland taste. I think they kept the food in the heater all day/week hence why it was so dry. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone ..

Serves some of the worst fish and chips I've ever experienced. The fish is small and not tasty. The fish batter is soggy and thin. The chips are soggy, undercooked, and have a dirty brown colour--as if the frying oil was overused and long overdue a change. Not good value. Not tasty. It's such a shame, because it's in a prime location--and that's probably why they manage to stay in business despite the bad quality.

We went here before last year and thought it was okay and were passing by and feeling a bit peckish so thought we'd have another go. As soon as we walked in we were ignored for a good 3 minutes. The lady saw us but choose to not even say "i'll be a minute" or anything. We almost walked out, but she finally spoke up, walking off after we didn't even finish our order. She eventually asked "anything else?" after realising we were still standing there. I had chicken burgers, which were drowned in mayonnaise and the meat was anaemic, and my mum had kebab which was also disgusting. We are not coming again.
