Booked for a meal after a recommendation from the caravan site warden who said he'd had the best roast dinner here. We went on Saturday evening and were not disappointed. The food was so good, plenty of flavour, freshly cooked and decent portion size. Good service and friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

What a great find! A big thank you to Jo for squeezing us in this week. We absolutely loved the food. I will be dreaming of the fish chowder! Excellent service. Hope to come back.

Been here many times before but had a couple of meals here this time. Absolutely outstanding here. I am very much a fish lover and I had the pork starter and chowder main course first time round. Only criticism was the sparseness of this starter which would have been better presented with a small serving of veg or dressed salad on the side. Very tasty though and the Chowder very filling. Second time round I went for the Hake special with prawns. At £30, I thought gosh you cannot take it with you, the money! This fish was the largest portion I’ve ever had, other places being very skimpy with their servings. It was absolutely wonderful and it’s making me hungry thinking about it! I highly recommend this place for the food, atmosphere and great selection of drinks and ales. If you are lucky, you might get a great sunset but the sea views from here are always spectacular

A simple setting but excellent food. Friendly and welcoming locals. We had the vegetarian bolognaise, sea bass and chicken skewers, all delicious. Would recommend.

Have eaten here before -this time we had the Sunday lunch served on the evening but nonetheless freshly cooked & really good-lean meat, 7 vegetables, huge Yorkshire pudding-all really well seasoned & all of my party thoroughly enjoyed it.its a really friendly pub with a great ambience & fabulous views over the sea.

Such an amazing spot. Went with my partner, he had the king scallops for starter, sea bream for mains and cheesecake for dessert. I had the seafood chowder. All of the food was delicious, well cooked and served in good time. The chowder was filling and a very good portion. He loved the Sea bream and would 100% choose it again. The chef has a great eye for plating food also. The staff were attentive and chatty. They helped us choose from a great selection of local ales, and good choice of gin for me too. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Thanks guys!

Five of us went out for sunday lunch, the server produced 5 stone cold sunday lunches that were not worty of being served as a school dinner. Must have either been dumb or purposely served cold. It isnt difficult to check that the plates are warm! Male staff member on the bar tried to short change me £10 after buying a drink and also the scottish bar maid serves pints of ale knowing that the barrel is off. 3/10

Popped in with my partner and the dog as we are staying nearby. Had 2 burgers and a couple drinks very reasonably priced I’d say. The staff were super friendly and I must say as a chef working in some top places this has to be one of the best burgers I’ve had in a very long time. We went to this pub a couple of years ago, and we liked it so much we took our friends to it when we were away for another weekend break. The place is totally unassuming, the staff lovely and accommodating. Roaring fire and we sat looking at the sea through the window… now for the best bit …… THE FOOD… absolutely fantastic… it’s a fine tuned menu… lots of beautiful seafood , and the Sunday lunches were amazing. Between four of us we ate king scallops, Cullen skink, seafood chowder, a belly pork Sunday lunch and a lamb one. The BEST food we have eaten in a long time…. Thanks for a lovely afternoon. Spent a great weekend here staying in the top floor suite, fabulous views across the estuary. Lovely clean room, huge bathroom, very quiet even when the pub was busy. Had great food in the bar, served by friendly staff who looked after us. One small niggle, we had no control over the heating, we had to call the Pennington both nights to get them to switch it on for us, no info on hand regarding this, good job we asked!. Will definitely stay here again, thankyou

What a great place ! I had butterbean hummus followed by sea bream with samphire and caper buerre. My partner had scallops followed by puy lentil bolognaise. All dishes were delicious. The fish was of excellent quality, with well judged cooking and flavour combinations. All this and a view of the sea - what more do you need ? 😊

Went with friends for lunch. The menu was not the one we had seen on the internet and the bar man said he had seen it but didn't know who had put in on. There was a choice of about 5 dishes all of which had some very bizarre combinations and were very over priced. We asked if they did sandwiches, soup, jacket potatoes etc and were told no, because they specialised in fish - on re visiting the menu we saw there was 1 fish dish. We left and had a very nice lunch at the Kellbank in Gosforth ( and we didn't choose the sandwiches, soup or jacket potatoes.) Such a waste because it is in a beautiful setting - but , not surprisingly, the place was empty.

A great little pub right on the river with excellent background music. There's a really good selection of Scottish ales and fabulous food. The tuna salad was fantastic and I'd have gone back the next night and eaten it again it was that good!! Well worth a visit.

This inn is a gem. Located on the seafront, you can watch the sunset while enjoying a delicious meal or drink. The staff is warm and genuine. We will not forget my time there :)

Excellent quality food. We have eaten twice now. One Sunday lunch and one evening meal. Both we could not fault. Not the cheapest but the quality was excellent so well worth it. The staff were extremely friendly. Only a small menu but there were specials, these were dependent on the local produce. Hope to visit again before the end of our holiday

The menu is quite limited. We had Sea Bream and Tuna Salad. Both were well prepared and nicely presented. However they were both £24 each which seemed expensive for what they were, and we were both hungry afterwards. We could have ordered chips at £4 a serving. Deserts were good and more reasonable at £7.50. Overall 4 stars not 5 stars.

On Saturday we phoned and booked a meal for two on Tuesday. We were unsuccessful trying to find a menu but the photographs on Trip Advisor looked delicious. The gentleman who took the booking didn’t ask for any details apart from name. We arrived just before 7pm, after driving 10miles from our accommodation and were told that there “was no kitchen today. We couldn’t phone you as we had no number”. Ravenglass is only small and there’s not a lot of choice, especially at the last minute. We were told of 2 places. One was full, but we told them what had happened with the booking, and they tried to squeeze us in. We had to wait 1.5hrs but eventually had a meal. The situation reflects badly on The Inn at Ravenglass.

The food was absolutely stunning in this lovely village pub. We booked for 4 for dinner and the pub was very busy with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff were really welcoming and service was quick. Good beers and wine. I had the sea bream with caper butter and new potatoes and it was absolutely delicious. Perfectly crispy skin and tender, tasty fish. Hubby also had perfectly cooked fish with the plaice dish. Our veggie was very happy with her starter and main and the final member of our group had a burger that was a huge portion and really tasty. We would definitely recommend but would also say you should book in advance or risk disappointment as it is clearly a very popular spot and rightly so. We would love to visit again. I have genuinely not enjoyed a pub meal this much for a long time. Small menu with a few specials but everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Lovely staff. Great view. Wanted to go here last time I was in the area, but it was closed on the Wednesday when we were there. Went in Saturday night to book for Sunday evening. Wasn’t disappointed. Lovely cosy pub with friendly staff. We both had the sea bream with new potatoes, charred asparagus and samphire in a butter caper sauce. Delicious and well worth the money. Lovely Crag ale to drink went lovely with meal. Recommend highly ☺️

Unassuming pub in a village that's off the beaten track but food, drink and welcome were exceptional. A short menu made choices easier: I went for the bouillabaisse (delicious sauce) and my wife chose a special, sea bream. Both were first class. Friendly and unstuffy service. We will be back.

Unpretentious restaurant with very friendly staff, very simple seating but don’t be put off as the food is excellent and far superior to the Pennington Hotel. Seafood is particularly good and they also offer a good selection of ales.

Don't be put off by the rather 'used' look of the place - the food is excellent. We had two vegetarian starters (falafel and hummus) and chips but that can't do justice to what we actually ate. Well worth eating here.

Stoped at the inn after a day walking the staff were very welcoming. I had sea food spaghetti and my wife had monkfish both were faultless.the sauce in the spaghetti was wonderful and both large portions, will definitely go back when in the area

Amazing ice-cream. Seriously, the best I have had. Massive scoops. Salted licorice seemed a strange flavour for ice-cream…could it possibly work? But I love locative, so I gave it a try. Oh, wow! Absolutely perfect. Just the right balance of flavours, and delicately licorice.

Loved this place, we were staying upstairs in Room 24 and called into the pub for a few beers after dinner at the Pennington Hotel. It had almost everything you'd want, great beer, great music, great staff and a lovely warm fire. We went again the following night after a long walk and it was a great place to relax. Looking forward to going back. Only thing missing was comfy sofa but then I'd probably still be there! We didn't eat but the reviews for food are good and what we saw looked great

Having just stopped to visit an Art Exhibition in the Pennington Hotel we called into the Inn at Ravenglass for a drink, and they had some really nice local artwork in here too, some of which being produced by the same local artists.The pub was warm and hospitable, and at the time of our visit contained one of the largest dogs ever, although he was just a visitor too.Only had a drink here and chose the local Hawkshead Porter which was good, there being a choice of some other local ales also.Pleasant enough pub with friendly staff and would be happy to visit again, it's a bit like Dr Who's Tardis as it seems bigger on the inside than it does from outside!

Just back from a lovely weekend in Ravenglass...visited the pub on the first night for a drink and then ate there the next two nights....my husband couldn't resist the Cornbeef hash! Very welcoming, chatted to staff and other customers, very welcoming of our dogs. The fire was a welcome bonus on Sunday. Enjoyed some good local beers and tasty food.
