Really nice authentic food and good portions. Went as a party of 10 (booked in advance) during a busy Saturday evening but food came out hot and quick, service was helpful and attentive but not overbearing. Would recommend & definitely come back.

Very disappointing, lot of oil used in curry’s. Looks like frozen breads are used.

Amazing experience, our host for the evening Jitesh was very cordial and extremely helpful. The food was lovely, and the nimbu pani/pani puri is a MUST try! Absolutely delightful experience overall. 😊

I went for lunch today. Ordered- Dhaba Methi paneer, vegetable kofta curry, Amritsari kualcha, lacha pratha, and yellow chapati, Deconstructed samosa chat. Dabha methi panner was not near to real dish, too much oil unnecessary spices used . Vegetable kofta curry - same too much oil, unhealthy and very tangy. Samosa chat was better but at this price point single samosa in a chat is not worth. Now the main point- Breads - Amritsari Naan- was not a naan and no where near that it was like a ready to eat packed paratha , most interesting part was when i aksed the waiter have you tried this before he said never in my life and they are selling naan. - Lacha paratha - Same as naan disappointment I have tried many Indian restaurants- Pushkar, Dishoom ,Varanasi honestly they are giving just to Indian food. It was a total waste of money, very disappointed.

All of the staff were so lovely, attentive and knowledgeable. They gave perfect recommendations that definitely didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing and so were the cocktails! Would definitely come again!

I ate here with a small group of friends and what a fantastic meal it was. An incredible selection of delicious dishes, including curries, rice, breads, dhaal, and chaats. All of it was delicious. The staff were all very helpful and were happy to answer questions about the dishes and make helpful suggestions about quantities and what paired well. Thank you for a wonderful meal. I will absolutely be coming back here again.

Good food and lots of gluten free options. Starter was hotter than the supposedly fiery chicken curry but enjoyable. Drinks could be more chilled but worth a visit, not too busy.

Me and my friend recently visited The Indian Streatery with high hopes, but unfortunately, we were quite disappointed—especially as Indians who know what good Indian street food should taste like. We ordered Chicken Chaat, Deconstructed Samosa Chaat, The Indian Hot Dog, Nimbu Pani, and Mango Lassi. Every single dish tasted overwhelmingly sour, which completely ruined the balance of flavors you'd expect from Indian chaat. Even the Mango Lassi was a letdown—it was far too thin and sour, lacking the rich, creamy sweetness it's supposed to have. To make matters worse, the portion sizes felt small for the high prices, and we were surprised to find a £3.20 service charge automatically added to our bill without being informed upfront. For a total of £35.15, this was definitely not value for money.

Loved this place. Yummy food. Don’t forget to try Chola Bhatura.

This place is perfect! The staff are wonderful. We met the proud owner and were served by his delightful two staff members - one was in his early days of working and both were caring and helpful. The food was so special and the atmosphere grand. I was with an old friend and we met after overcoming some health issues and we agreed that it was a venue well wort visiting. Thank you we shall be back.

Felt right at home. Sweet people, sweet service. When we said, "just feed us" they did and we weren't disappointed! The deconstructed samosa chaat was the bomb as was the yellow dhal...highly recommend. Nice chill sound track, too.

Being Indian and someone who enjoys cooking, I usually prefer other nationality restaurant . However, I decided to try this place today and ordered Chole Bhature, Roti with Dal Tadka, and Cumin Rice. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing: The food seemed pre-prepared and wasn’t properly reheated before serving. The Chole was extremely sour and unpleasant to eat. The Dal was served cold. The "Cumin Rice" was more like leftover mixed dal and rice – not what one would expect when ordering Jeera Rice. When I raised this with Dhiraj at the restaurant , he insisted this is how they make it. I asked if there was any cumin in it, and he said no. This raises serious questions about the authenticity of the food being marketed as Indian. I’ve even attached a picture of the so-called Cumin Rice for reference. I urge others to think twice before visiting. Please don’t mislead customers under the label of authentic Indian food.

Foods were overpriced and didn't taste like authentic Indian foods. We had dosa, green paratha and chicken, and masala tea.

Very nice experience here on a Monday evening. Food was excellent and service really friendly. The masala lemonade drink was top drawer. Reasonably priced also. Would recommend.

Saw some good reviews of this place so thought we would give it a try while visiting Birmingham. Got to say that we were not disappointed at all. The service was excellent, our server provided us with a little run down of the menu as it was out first time. He was polite and friendly and spared a few minutes to have a bit of small talk which seemed really genuine and was a nice touch. The food arrived exactly as ordered in a very reasonable amount of time and did not disappoint. I ordered Dad's Lamb Keema with Meaty Masala Fries and Cumin Basmati Rice. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavours were amazing. When the bill came the price was very reasonable given the quality of the meal. We live very far away from Birmingham but will be making an effort to return so we can sample more of the menu. Couldn't fault it one bit and would recommend without a seconds hesitation.

Refreshingly different from the standard Indian restaurant menus I am used to. Food was great, especially loved the paratha! Service was great and the maitre'd kindly gave me a couple of recommendations for the rest of my stay in Birmingham.

Booked for 5 people on April 26th. Started off well but service just dropped. Might aswell have been working here. Happening to be passing, putting down and picking plates up. Ridiculous then they bring out mains when they table hasn't been cleared asking us to move them. First and maybe last time here. Food wasn't terrible...

Absolutely stunning food! We were on a photoshoot and were looking for good quality street food that wasn’t too expensive. The Pakora Fried Chicken Burger was incredible, it looks and tastes amazing. One of the nicest places I’ve eaten in a long time. I will definitely be taking my friends and family to try the food here. 3 of us ate high quality food for under £50 absolutely crazy in a big city! Also thank you so much to Sunny for his great food suggestions and above and beyond service, we couldn’t have asked for better on a busy shoot day x

Visited here as a group of 4 last night (didn't book) staff were welcoming and really friendly. Ordered a variety of veggie dishes, all of which were really tasty, staff gave some recommendations on what to order too. Overall we really enjoyed our visit here, food was great, staff were lovely. Its only a small place so cosy atmosphere and tables are pretty close, but we didn't mind that at all. We will definitely be back

Heard about this place from a friend of mine so wanted to visit this place. Got a seat straight away. My server was extremely customer focused and chatty and very professional. Ordered chaat and then cholle bhature, and a half pint beer. And the bill came at around £23.00. Cut little place in the middle of Birmingham which was authentic food as you are eating at home.

came here for a catch up with a friend, i have a nut allergy but was told that they have a nut-free kitchen which is a huge win! we ordered a few plates to share, the pani puri was amazing! we also got the palak paneer, which was nice but only had about 4 chunks of paneer in, and we got paneer fries too but only got 6/7 of those, just something to bear in mind! the house black dal was nice and the roti were all super hot and fresh. i wish we had ordered more food as i was still hungry after, but this just means i will have to come back soon!!

Mango Lassi - mango juice (felt straight from the packed bottle of juice) not Lassi. Not recommended. Bhatura - pizza base with herbs added Lamb kofta - good Chefs special dhaba chicken - not good as highlighted as special dish Masala tea - recommended (two stars for this tea)

I am a foodie but usually not a critic. I have food and have respect for the people who feed me. But this one in particular didnt sway me. First disappointment was the lassi which felt like 2 spoons of yogurt mixed in water topped with unwanted ice cubes. That's not lassi. Thats yogurt flavoured water serverd a mocktail and I was utterly pissed off. The next off the flavours. It was not balanced and there was something off in all the dishes. Apart from the palak paneer which my kid ate and the bhatura I was not particularly impressed with the other food. You can do better. Indian food forms a different style of pallet. Dort over engineer it. Keep it simple and flavourful.

The food proportion and the cost of food is not at all comparable. Curry is not what it says..

One of the few places in Birmingham that serves good indian food. Ambiance is nice , gives good indian atmosphere vibe. Service was good ( they do include service charge) I had the masala tea( not 100% authentic but decent) and the deconstructed samosa chaat, it was good , tasted well and presentation was also good! Overall you should give this a try if you’re close to the bull ring mall

Had chicken and samosa chaat both had the same base and were tasty. Surprisingly the chai was superb. The overall experience was really great with a good ambience.

Good place to have indian food. Limited menu had tea and some chat items tasted fresh and good. Would recommend to try panner fries which i loved the most its unique and worth trying. Overall 10/10

We decided to order from Deliveroo and came across the Indian Streatery which had an stand out delicious looking menu. We decided to order a selection of starters and a main each we were really happy with what we ordered. It tasted amazing and was well presented. I would highly recommend, trying the dishes. I will definitely be ordering again and trying all the items on the menu well done on presenting and creating a modern Indian food offering.

The restaurant had a very warm friendly inviting atmosphere. The service was very good quick professional helpful efficient & friendly. We shared bel poori which was delicious with just enough spice but not over spiced. The channa betura was so sumptuous with tamarind infused over the top giving it a tangy flavour. Our main of keema ( lamb mince) with matter (peas) was very tasty coupled with jeera (cumin) rice was a match made in heaven. The battura bread accompanied the dishes very well. If you like street food, i would strongly recommend it. You can either book in advance or just walk in that makes it even more appealing

Had a scrumptious Chole Bhature, reminding me of my days in Delhi. If you are here, I would highly recommend Mango Lassi! It's delicious, thick with the right sweetness! Was taken Care by Ninal, an absolute cheerful guy!

Can't fault this unique Indian Restaurant. Great urban dining atmosphere, fabulous family inspired 'home' cooking, witjh welcoming an attentive staff. Menu is filled with unique offerings. My Chicken Chat starter was plentiful and had a was full of flavour. Choose 'tapas' style smaller dishes or more hearty sized mains. Lamb keema was fab. Would definitely return and recommend. Good choice of beer and wine too.

The staff was polite, and the prices were affordable. The lassi was refreshing and enjoyable. However, the flavors didn’t fully match authentic North Indian cuisine—the chickpeas seemed canned, and the bhature were slightly undercooked, would not recommend Amritsari naan as it seems like more of a paratha and less than a naan .With some adjustments, the food could be even better!

We came all the way from Belfast and totally found this hidden gem. The vibes were amazing. the chole bhatura was really tasty. The staff was very good, thanks to janat, she was really helpful. Definitely recommend this place if you're around.

Chole bhature and chats were amazing!! Im from India and tried a dish, had some constructive recommendations. We conveyed to the manager and he listened to it carefully and immediately applied it to the dish. Its rare to see people accepting new suggestions. Just awesome!

I am a South Indian. The food was not at all what was expected. Too bad! It is too neutral even after asking for it to be extra spicy. No hot food Served. Wah!! There is no methi in methi chaman!! The Bartha is the worst! Fun part - It tasted like mashed brinjal and smoked later 😂 Finally Ginger tea - tasted like tea made with old stock spices. I had to write this review! That is how disappointing the food is. If you are someone who does not know anything about Indian food. Go for it..!!!

I wish there was a -5 option The staff was very rude and useless They served us stale and bland food when we ordered chicken curry. We specifically asked for it to be spicy and the waitress did not inform us that it could not be done. The food was cold when it arrived and very bland when we complained the staff member told us a story about adding cream and we should order something else and pay for it. Absolutely would not recommend if you want Indian food that tastes like actual Indian food -5/5
