The Indian Cottage in East Dunbartonshire

Just moved to Kirkintilloch and tried the buffet. Fantastic range of Currys on offer with each as good as the last! Cannot recommend highly enough. Naan bread was superb. Thoroughly recommend either the Bhuna or the Masala from the buffet. All the staff were incredibly nice and the restaurant itself has a fantastic atmosphere in a big airy space. Prices fantastic as well, won't break the bank. Brilliant experience all in all, we'll be back!

The food was ok, pakora a bit dry, naan slightly bland and too doughy

Had a lovely meal at the Indian cottage. Food was delicious and the service was great even though the place was busy. They also catered for my family party and provided delicious food that went down well.

Been in at lunch time today but we ordered from Alacarte menu portions of starters are really small according to prices.Makhan Masala was nice but Biryani was not good, chicken in biryani was not cooked well. Requested chef for replacing it or re-cook it but he was very rude. There was an other girl who tried to resolve this issue really well. Thanks for her service. But we won’t be back.

Ordered for ASAP and the food arrived 30 minutes earlier than the confirmed time. Meal was delicious. Much appreciated.

Chips were soggy, tasted like they were from the day before, steak wasn’t much better it was cold but edible , wouldn’t recommend

Food good however - £12.95 for Burgundy Redfoot and NO Pilau Rice and NO Salad! Not impressed

I had the wrong order. I ordered Rogan Josh, but had a chicken tikka masala. The food was ok despite being incorrect. Heavy on the coconut. But it filled a hole. Might order again in the hope the right food is delivered.

Just got a collection order ( guy that ordered the Guinness ) honestly one of the best Baltis i’ve had absolutely spot on, Pakora lovely as well defo be back

Not busy so no problems getting a table and service is quick. Like most places the cost is going up,, might put people off. Staff are lovely, friendly.

Food was always great here. I love this place. But today is a big disappointment. You can tell the food wasn't fresh. Not the Indian cottage I knew. But will buy again later and see if it's the same.

Went there with my wife for dinner. Usually a buffet on but as we were the only ones there it wasn't available. They did do us a mini buffet for the table. Combination of 4 different starters, 4 different currys, a rice and a garlic naan. Was excellent. Think we just got a quiet night. Will definately be back.

Bag had clearly been dropped, food containers were bashed, sauce was all over the bag and had leaked through on other foods. Curries were bland, masala chips were soggy and the pakora was bland. All round not a great experience.

Worst food. The food is of very poor quality and got the worst food for birthday celebration. I would never order again. Money spent in drain

Went for lunch on Thursday, genuinely was terrible. They should up the prices & actually give you a half decent sized portion. The chicken pakora was 3 tiny sized strips. The mains there was barely any sauce at all and the naan bread fell apart it was that thin. I will stick to takeaways from here as that’s usually better quality at night but over all extremely disappointing. Used to love going for lunch here, I know the cost of living crisis has affected everywhere and their wanting to seem competitive for lunch but at least charge 3-5 pound more and give a decent meal.

Great offers such as e course meal for 2 people £19.95, also have a buffet at night's, kids eat free with a paying adult. Plenty space can choose to sit on ground floor or upstairs. Great selection of food and drinks, good service and can just walk in.

First time disappointed. 30 minutes late and everything had to be microwaved to heat it up. chips looked they had already been reheated and were like rubber.

The chicken was over cooked and very dry. Should be butter soft.

First-time visit, but we'll definitely return. Very clean and well-lit, with attentive staff, the food would have to be exceptional to surpass all of this, and it did. Quality of the buffet was outstanding. Definitely a place I would 100% recommend.

Food was cold. Very bland and the description of the items didn’t live up to what was delivered. The items were far from description that made me think I was given wrong order. Won’t be back and disappointed

Chicken maryland had more pineapple in it than chicken. Chicken pakora did not come with any sauce so it was dry really hard to chew. Shame as the food is usually good.

Takeaway, food was good (much better than the stuff we threw away the other week from a well known Lenzie based Indian restaurant), pakora was nice, chicken pakora was juicy and not dried out, rice was fab, bhuna was nice and not watery at all, poppadoms crispy and fresh, garlic naan was amazing and still hot by the time we got home, the spicy onions were delicious. Not been in ages and avoided because of bad reviews, glad we went back! Keep up the good food guys 😁

Great curry as always thank you and delivery was quick got my food before it was due and 30mins before my partner and we ordered the same time from 2 places not far from each other.

Long time since we had last been but my wife and I turned up last Saturday night for our 8pm booking and we were the only 2 people in the restaurant. Fortunately whilst eating another 6 people came in but still very quiet for a Saturday night Despite this the food was good and service was very quick The fact the restaurant was so quiet on a Saturday night would put me off going back as there was no atmosphere and appeared almost as many staff as customers

I've only ever had takeaway from here. It's always ready at the promised time and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The quality and portions are some of the best I've experienced. Looking forward to trying sitting in!

Chicken was very dry despite having it in sauce. Never got offered rice with my korma so assumed it would have came with the rice. Was a bit gutted, none the less thankfully I ordered Nan so had this with my korma. It was ok but I wouldn’t be in a rush to order again

Very watery rice and the curry was very bland. Was delivered on time but was cold.

This used to be a very good restaurant. We were there at Christmas and couldn't fault it. This week we returned and found the opposite. The chicken wings were dry and tasteless. The rice was cold and the curry was watery. The chicken in the patia was dry and also lacked flavour

Very nice Indian restaurant in kirkintilloch town. Nice Good, Family atmosphere, especially the upper sitting section is so nice.

Does not taste like a South Indian Garlic chilli that I’ve had from many other takeaway’s……….the amount of crunchy onions made it more like a undercooked dopiaza….will definitely not order again! Delivery time was estimated to be at latest 11.20………was delivered at 11.15 …so we technically on time…I ordered at 10pm …

Went for a family meal last night. Service was first class. Plenty of choice on the menu. Food was delicious. Staff were very friendly & helpful. We hadn't been there for food in a long time but definitely will be back soon!

I do enjoy the food especially the tandoori mix however on this occasion they didn’t give us rice with it so I was lucky I had chips

Really disappointed with tonight’s order. Food stone cold. Veg pakora had no veg in it, just all batter. Pakora sauce seemed to be really watered down, just ran off the pakora and had no flavour. Poppadom stale and no crisp was broken up into lots of little pieces. Chips cold and soggy. Food late. Spice onions were really awful and seemed to be coated in the watery pakora sauce. Had food from here before and always been really nice so put it down to a bad night for the restaurant?

Food was delicious - very warm, fresh and high quality ingredients used. A lot better than other local Indians

Food was amazing however delivery was absolutely shocking. The driver dumped it at a neighbours door, by the time we got it, it looked like someone had been playing goody all with it. All boxes where bashed in and food spilling out of them AND dumped at the wrong place! Thankfully neighbour came over with it. Really poor. Takes away from their normal good service.

Without causing offence The food was cold, like freezing, and the chicken tasted like water was no flavour in the curry. Very shocked.

Food was cold. Both curries were room temp at best. Lamb was over cooked. Pakora was soggy and over cooked. Felt like it had been sat for a while before being delivered. Won't be back.

The spicy lamb bhoona was absolutely delicious. Some of the most tender lamb I’ve ever had. Never had a curry from here before but it will now be my new regular. Excellent portion size,especially the chicken pakora. Very impressed with everything we ordered. Thank you
