Outstanding food, a wee hidden gem. Every different dish had its own unique taste. Don’t give this place a miss people. It’s lovely.

Creamy Jalfrasie , watery, tasteless, hardly any chicken, utter waste of £30, I would not be recommending this take away

When this establishment opened up a few years ago it was a breath of fresh air. Dishes were modern and with a twist. However, either through new management, new chefs or laziness in the kitchen they have now fallen into the standard offering with no distinction whatsoever. The lamb bhuna was very close to a boil in the bag gravy! Shame. On a positive note, their pricing is still very competitive, and staff as usual extremely courteous, well done for that.

Lovely ambience and a great selection of food. This was my second visit here and the food did not disappoint. Might have to pop in again to try the rest of the menu!

Best Indian food in my opinion in North Glasgow with friendly staff & stylish surroundings we will definitely be back! The South Indian Garlic chilli chicken was a triumph.

My friend and I had a wonderful meal at the restaurant. The service was very good and the food was fresh and well done. The price point is a steal! I would definitely come back again for a proper Indian meal.

This evening we came to have a nice meal, we have been here many times before! One of my friends is seriously allergic to chicken but fancied the mixed grill minus the chicken. The server came and took the order and everything was fine, then staff came and said they’d have to charge more, and clarified again what that order was. This was followed with the restaurant owner Tuchar coming over and when asked said that he had instructed the his staff that they wouldn’t make the change to the dish by simply removing the chicken, he went on to say that it wasn’t possible to make changes to the dishes, and wasn’t prepared to accommodate this. My friend was left without his main course and only a starter, the Owners attitude was unmerited and rude in front of us all, the customer service he is offering is undoubtedly shocking and as a result I will no be coming back nor will any off us! And all our friends that we have in the past visited this restaurants will be made fully aware of our experience. Avoid this restaurant as they are not customer focused and not interested in providing nice experience during your visit.

Always get a good curry take away here, my cousin likes vegetarian and loves it too! She can tell if I went elsewhere. Delicious and average price to other places. Friendly staff too.

Been going here for years. The food is always delicious and excellent value. If you like spicy, go for the Spicy Jalfrezi.

I guess the best way to gauge a restaurant is “would you go back”? well I went here yesterday for the first time and I would go back. The food was good. Service was good. Atmosphere was good and the location is good and prices are very reasonable so all in all, it’s a good place to go for Indian food and a nice night out.

We didn’t sit in at the restaurant this time but ordered a takeaway as we have done this a lot over the years since the restaurant opened. We have had our ups and downs with delivery being late or the food being stone cold on arrival but this time it was the chicken in the chicken Bhuna , it was all very tough not like chicken breast and quite unpleasant….. hoping this restaurant is not cutting their costs and using other parts of the chicken or cheaper quality as I have always felt Raja Rani were superior to the other local restaurants by a mile. Very disappointed……

Really nice dinner this evening. The food was fantastic! I had the fish lahori starter and then the spicy chicken tikka jalfrezi, which was really nice! Friendly, polite and efficient service too. Definitely recommend!

I've been here numerous times now and it just gets better and better. Before, I occasionally found their lamb a bit tough/fatty but the last few times it has been absolutely amazing. Their bhoon sauce is wonderful, the best I've tasted in a long time. Their prices are really reasonable and the service is good too.

We frequently go out for Saturday lunch me and my wife and we hadnt been in Rajas for wuite some time. This was the 1st time we had lunch there. It delivered big time. The food was outstanding 3 starters, all pakoras fish veg and chicken. Now obviously the portions were smaller being a lunchtime menu but they were all 1st class taste was amazing. We then had a curry each I had a bhoona my wife had a Chicken Tikka Masala. We also had a garlic nann to share and some chips. For a lunchtime menu this was top drawer. Couldnt fault it in any way service was tip top. Very much recomnend it. A GREAT PRICE TOO. We will be back 100%

If you are going to this place for a sit in meal, then you need to be aware of couple of points, Firstly the takeaway seems to take priority. Restaurant was reasonably busy but not too busy and yet food seemed to be flying out to the take away customers as we sat and waited and waited. Secondly, especially if you are sitting on the right hand side as you enter the restaurant, note that it is very cold. Staff keep pushing the curtain back to get knives and forks and along with that bring in the cold air. Keep that curtain closed pleased. Food is reasonably okay but not great. I would miss the starter, specially because there is nothing else on the table. I would have expected some complimentary popped etc. Well they do not seem to do that. Customer service is rather lacking a bit. To be honest I do not appreciate the plans being rolled in front of me to pass it wrong the table. Maybe they were rushing back to tackle more take away orders.

Don't recommend, RR's food quality went down hill, food cold and extremely greasy. They scraped meal for 2 and take away for 2 it is around £50. Avoid!

Ordered a takeaway, waited a long time. Veg pakora was a very small portion, also a bit soggy. Also tried a Chicken bhuna which smelled a bit odd, chicken was tough, so binned it after one mouthful. Chips were also a very small portion and soggy and undercooked. Even the nan bread was smaller than any nan I've ever had elsewhere. Wont ever be back

Very popular and busy restaurant in Bearsden! Took a while to get our drinks and starters as they were so busy but definitely worth the wait. Food was beautiful and really tasty! Will definitely be back.

Food is lovely if somewhat small portions, the issue mainly is the poor service - our main server, a young woman, was fine but the young guy who seemed to be mainly behind the bar was miserable and rude, no attempt to smile - rolled his eyes when he was asked for milk for tea that was ordered - really seemed he was unhappy to be there. Another young man brought ice cream to the table- a small bowl , instead of carrying it by holding it in his palm he had his fingers in the actual bowl touching the ice cream, proceeded to dump bowl on our table and walk away wiping his nose - we will def not be back !

We went for a meal last night. All was well with our starters and drinks. Waited 40 minutes for our main course despite it being very quiet but we weren’t in a rush. Table next to us got their food before us despite ordering after us - strange but perhaps a more regular customer. Just before we got our mains - literally before they hit the table - we were advised that our order couldn’t be served with rice as they had run out. Alternative - chips or naan bread - fine. Assured they would be brought out - started the curries (with no accompaniments) - waited and waited and waited - eventually got chips - food half finished. Only to then be offered boiled rice! Take away side seemed very busy - perhaps that’s where the focus is. Another family experienced the same and simply left! And we should have too. The £5 off the bill didn’t quite make up for basically ruining what should have been a nice family meal - a pity as the food is lovely. Doubt we will be back.

Absolutely DISGUSTING takeaway! Look at these photos. When on earth was the oil last changed?!? The pakora clearly re-heated from lunch. The chips inedible. Shame on you!

Some negative reviews which do not reflect our experience ! Frequent on a regular basis with groups of friends and never disappointed. Good food and service all at a reasonable price. Sometimes a little noisy but at weekends that’s to be expected if popular.

Lovely food and waiting staff were very good my only complaint is the vents in the restaurant were blowing out cold air and we had to eat with our jackets on it was not very comfortable. When mentioned to the staff they said they were cold also and that they had received a lot of complaints about the restaurant being cold but the management didn’t do anything about it

Absolutely mouth watering food! Loved every single dish! Went on a double date and we barely spoke to each other because had our faces buried in food! Brilliant decor!

Food and service was 1st class.

Visited Saturday night a meal for two.We were shown a table next to the toilet,s. We did not want to sit there, the waiters made a rude facial expression to our request. We were given a table near the entrance, every time the main door opened, there was a draught.Lady next to us had to put a jacket on it was that cold. The food was ok, it would have been nice if someone opened and poured the wine and also the water we ordered.We were left to do it our selves.No one came and asked how our meals were, or iff we would like more wine, a sweet or coffee. Their main concern seemed to be concentrated on the hundreds of take away orders being made up for delivery.Very poor lack of service.

First time in restaurant and it was so good. Food was fantastic as was the staff. The young man who served us was particularly attentive and helpful as my son has a nut allergy. First class service and food is wonderful.

Excellent lunch enjoyed by all and the service is first class. Their set menu is very good value and portion size is perfect for lunch. Nice premises with disabled access.

Carry out quality was absolutely terrible, some of the food was almost inedible, will certainly not be returning. Plenty other good options in Milngavie / Bearsden.

I have been eating curries since I came to glasgow 50 odd years ago and have had many memorable curries. However, in the past 5 years I can't think of any lunch I have enjoyed as much as Sunday lunch in the Rani. As a wheelchair user the access is ok, the restaurant is roomy and by 2:30 there is plenty of seating. Very good value for money. Would recommend Mughlai lamb korma, vegetable pakora and peshwari naan. Had my son go for a take out yesterday. Very disappointing, the pakora was old and stale though still a good flavour, for that reason I have given 4 stars. The curry was good but they are letting themselves down with their take aways. There seems to be a difference in quality between eating in and taking out.

Decent enough, plain anglicised food; in catering to local tastebuds and smoke alarm regulations (its a sizzle-free zone which renders anything Tandoori an unexciting choice) misses out on the culinary pazzazz of Kundal Lal Jaggi or the aromatic delicacies of Vidhu Mittal/Madhur Jaffrey. Perhaps just a tad of Sunday evening fatigue on this occasion. Service was nevertheless good - our waitress Erin clearly on an upward trajectory - attentive, thoughtful and destined for higher places.

Last two takeaways have been sublime. My new go to Indian .

Never had a meal in Raja Rani, but had loads of deliveries, food is top notch and perfectly cooked, 10/10 every time. You will never be disappointed. Try it !!!!

I love this restaurant so much. The atmosphere is amazing and they have some of the best food in Glasgow. One particular waiter is so professional and has the best recommendations. I've tried so many curries and naans here. Would recommend to anyone 10/10.

Lovely dinner tonight. Staff attentive and lovely. We had popadoms and mango chutney, honey chilli chicken as starters. A apple juice and Kingfisher beer. Mains sharing a garlic naan and pilau rice with a fish curry and a paneer labradar. Cost just over £50. All very tasty.

Had a gift voucher to use and had no issues booking and using it , ordered what I’d normally order from my usual venue and was extremely disappointed with the portion sizes usually half would go to waste but portions were so small we ordered more but I’m giving it a 4 star as the food was good and when I saw the bill it justified the small portions as it was half the price I’d normally pay so I then understood the portions were in line with the price so a learning curve for any future visits we now know what to expect, I would have given 5 stars but knocked one off due to one of the servers being miserable as sin couldn’t raise a smile and felt like a bit of an inconvenience not welcoming at all , I’m a server myself and expect better, other server and manager / owner I’m unsure also great

We visit here often & have never been disappointed. The surroundings are lovely & the staff are efficient. However, it's the food that really stands out. Every dish is full of flavour & very fresh. Decent portions also. Highly recommended.

Zero stars if it would let me.Ordered online and paid ,a message popped up to say that they were not taking orders ? Received Email to say order accepted. I tried calling for over a hour and a half, went straight to a answering machine. No one will answer the phone so can`t make contact to find out if order has been accepted or not. It then appears a full 2 hrs after we had placed it. Pakora (veg & mushroom) cold and hard, chapati cold and hard. Garlic nan & paratha cold. The mains were good but needed reheating. VERY POOR and all in not value for money. Try elswhere it will be better, cannot be any worse. Will be sourcing takeaways from another restaurant. Very disappointed

A SENIOR STAFF MEMBER WAS VERY RUDE TO ONE OF HIS YOUNGER STAFF MEMBERS INFRONT OF ME AS A CUSTOMER. I FOUND THIS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND FELT SORRY FOR THE YOUNGER MEMBER OF STAFF.

I ordered takeaway in the restaurant. Staff abrupt and rude. Found a hair baked into one of the poppadums. South Indian garlic chilli chicken so sweet it was inedible, tasted like a chasni. Really disappointing experience

I have eaten India food for over 20 years. I ordered chicken tikka with a Karahi sauce. The food came and I got spicy Heinz tomato soup full of red peppers and chilli powder. I asked for it to be changed the waiter argued with me that this is Karahi. He gave me another sauce out and said he has changed it to bhuna it was the same sauce without the peppers. Also the beer (tennents) was like water for some reason. Will not be back here. Absolute vile and the service is terrible. Not to mention I waited 10 minutes for a fork after my food was served

Carry out delivery: twice now when my order arrived missing items. Second time I contacted restaurant to complain...not interested..Will not order again...

After a hiccup with my delivery last week, the restaurant more than redeemed themselves. Food was hot and delicious, what I’m used to from them.

Food really good, shame about service. Waited about half and hour for our drink and when asked waitress not even a sorry, but looked like order had forgotten to be put through. Menus snatched out both our hands after ordering and no check in during food wait or when we had empty drinks. Ignored when asking for bill. Ordered take away following week as food was good and even service picking up take away was terrible and items missing from take away.

Wait times are excessively longer than what your advised. Management is extremely rude and they have dont seem to have any customer service skills. Found two hairs in the food and no apology or compensation was provided. Staff are not treated well and underpaid will not be visiting this establishment again.

Amazing place. Booked last minute and received a warm welcome when I arrived. Service was 2nd to none, on the ball with drinks and information before ordering. Food was absolutely delicious. The best Indian I've ever had. So so amazing and with it being my 1st time dining with them, I'll be back ASAP. Quality, quantity and knowledgeable staff helping you to choose etc ( which is very difficult as there's so many delicious items to choose from!) Thank you so much for fitting me in and thank you for an amazing experience from start to finish guys. 10 out of 10. Awesome.

Ordered for first time tonight after getting menu through the door. Placed order around 18.08 and received just before 19.20 which was the estimated time. Had ordered the meal for two, and started with the poppadoms and spiced onions- the spiced onions were okay, the poppadoms were stale. Aloo tikki was my starter, was disappointed at the portion size, two pieces, for £4.50. Was a little spicier than expected but okay Husband enjoyed his honey chilli chicken, and we both thought the chicken pakora was nice. We had ordered two different sauces for it but were sent two of the same one. For our mains we had butter chicken. It was really sweet, and otherwise meh. Rice was good as was garlic naan, both good size and quality. We were really intrigued by the menu and thought there was lots we’d like to try but not sure we’ll order again very soon, and definitely won’t be the butter chicken we get! Hoping next thing we try is better Edited also to add that despite saying in their newspaper style menu that they don’t use poly bags, our juice was delivered in one and the food in a paper bag. Polystyrene was used for our pakora and sauces (although I guess for the sauces, plastic is unavoidable)

Got a really nice menu through door today so we gave this place a try. Chicken poori was not the best pashwari nann wasnt great rogan josh wasn't the best either I won't slate it but sorry we won't try it again kinda waste of 30.00 sorry

Always superb. We never go anywhere else for Indian food. The food is great every time we go. The lamb chops and chicken balti are particularly good. Service is excellent.

We were so disappointed I order nihari and they serve some kind of bhuna curry and when I ask where is my nihari the guy said this is nihari order mixed grill which was not fresh and chicken was cold and prices so high jug of water 2.70 supposed to be free naan 3 pound over all it was disaster to be honest

The chicken biryani and lamb biryani was average at best, nothing special, the accompanying sauce was mistakenly your bog standard pre made curry sauce when it was meant to be raita where the wait staff had to be corrected. When we got the raita it was borderline chucked on the table like it was dog food. The papdi in the papdi chaat was like it was store bought and dumped in a plate with some what appeared to be like frozen tinned chick peas very poorly balanced with too much yoghurt and bottled mint sauce with very little tamarind. The service I would say sub par well below average with some of the waiting staff having the customer service skills of a door knob. Not very knowledgeable about the menu confused about what was being ordered a little stand offish, not even asked once how the food was (just as well as they would have got an earful). Never even had the courtesy to lift our dishes before getting the bill let alone acknowledge our existence after the bill was paid. The environment and atmosphere was ok a little bland and dated interior and the booth seating require that you be on the slender side otherwise good luck getting i and out. Overall would have thought Bearsden would have been home to a better standard of Indian restaurant, will not be going here again. There are better places to spend £38 🤮 .

I bought food from the shop it always was fine and tonight I bought food and it was burnt chicken was charcoal and chips was so hard I could not eat it I was so duaapointed I tried phoning the number but it was closed I know the owners and still because I was a bit drunk I was given food and no phone calls were awnsered "£ no repli means I am not important I am above the shop so went down to check and it was shut anyway I was disappointed with the food only once but it was burnt

I only just found this takeaway but have to say that the lamb bhoona was out of this world. The lamb itself was very tender and the sauce was outstanding. I did think the portion sizes for the chips and raita were quite poor or else this would have been a 5 * review.

I have fitted out the new restaurant in Partick cross ,,(rickshaw) to find out the boys own the raja rana ,,, been in there the last few months for take away ,,, and the food is absolutely Dynamite ,, 1 complaint ,, not opened through...

Ray Rani has been for me consistently good for a couple of years now but our take away this evening hit the food bin.. First of all the order was late and arrived stone cold therefore all had be reheated from scratch Which is never the same. Also the chicken had the taste of precooked chicken and the sauce was very hot which is not normal for this restaurant as usually you taste spices rather than just hot .. Paratha not soft also tasted Like it was not fresh.. I am really annoyed as paid for something that was totally disappointing. Sandra Bell

Simply outstanding food, so much care and attentions to the freshness and overall taste of the food. Hints of lemon from fresh starters, marinated and grilled to perfection tandoori grill, nan bread soft on the inside and crispy on the outside with lashing of yummy...

tried ashoka to start with .. an old friend, but in need of work ... crossed road here , staff and place great .. food is best around by a distance.

As a regular customer since the Raja opened, I've been disappointed with our last two carry out meals. My spicy Jalfrezi wasn't spicy, the sauce was thin, flavours weak and there was no richness to the dish. We also ordered a plain bhuna, a regular choice, and, whilst the chicken was well cooked, the sauce was no more than a thick, grainy gravy, lacking the usual bhuna depth of flavour. We'll give this restaurant a miss for a while and try another local Indian.

Disappointing, thought i would have been more impressed with this dish, prawns looked reasonable size however they still had their jackets on. Not much eating involved, plus veg pakors was average and not many of them.

Used this restaurant for 3 years now and really enjoy the food but terrible customer service. Placed an order online with a chosen time slot and it turned up 1 hour early. I was told by restaurant i hadn't picked a slot and i had asked for it to be ASAP. After showing proof of email and time i had chosen i was told it was because it was a tuesday night and quiet and orders are just sent out as they come in and if i wanted another order they would only accept collection only really appauling service to someone who uses the restaurant on a weekly basis.

Probably one of the best curries I’ve eaten in years… absolutely delicious very happy to recommend. Lovely friendly service serving beautifully prepared presented meal .
