Would not hesitate to recommend The Ilkley Cow, and in fact have done to numerous people. Lovely helpful staff, superb tastie Yorkies, perfectly cooked succulent meat, stunning desserts and unbeatable value. Even if you're not tight Yorkshire folk, what's not to like!!

Had a lonely evening here at ilkley cow. 29th March 2025. Table for 4 , restaurant was pretty busy but to be expected.. main course was the tomahawk steaks. 35 ounces after the bone was removed. Absolutely delicious mouth watering meal to be remembered , lovey guy served our table nothing was too much trouble. 4 people shared two tomahawk steaks. The onion rings were delicious too. Not a word of complaint. .. probably the best steak dinner I’ve ever experienced. Four very satisfied dinners ..

Decided to dine here for my mums birthday and was quite disappointed in some aspects. They had no fillet steak (despite it being a steak restaurant) which is the only one my my mum enjoys. The starters of nachos and the hot sharing board looked great but tasted very bland. My step dad enjoyed them however. They seemed VERY short staff but the restaurant was very quiet and we had long waits for orders to be taken, drinks brought and waits between meals. My diet pepsi was flat and warm. Staff we very pleasant but had to really work to get their attention all evening. As for the mains of 2 sirloins, a chicken burger and chunky chips, presentation looks great but all in all the food was bland and under seasoned and not great quality. The thick chips were rather soggy and not crispy or hot at all. Nice onion rings though. All in all a pleasant experience and lovely spacious atmosphere but a bit more attention needed to detail.

Nice atmosphere, tasty food, good service.

Anniversary weekend, so we thought we would try Ilkley Cow as we both love our food and the ratings looked good and reviews to match it. For starters we ordered the Teriyaki Pork Belly Skewers & Shell on Argentinian Tiger Prawns. The Skewers were delicious, Tiger Prawns taste was nothing amazing but still set a good starting point before mains. Mini Steak Sampler & Glazed Pork Belly for mains. Pork Belly was like butter, melt in your mouth gooeyness with the the crackling on top to finish the layers. The Steak Sampler was good, too much salt flakes covering the plate which for me was a little overpowering on the steak but it’s personal preference as my partner liked it. FYI I thought the chunky chips would be a crispy beast of a chip but sadly not, still tasty just let down when seeing previous images so use that as a reference for the future. Unfortunately we had a slide issue with one of our dishes but after speaking with our waiter who was sincere and apologetic we continued on with our meal with no problems and full bellies. Such an amazing restaurant! First and most importantly, the food is great. Delicious and well presented. I have several dietary restrictions and the staff were very accomodating, which was a great relief. We didn't have to wait long at all for our food either. The decor is lovely and the general atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. The price was where it should be, I found it fair and reasonable.

The first time I visited was good. I visited for a second time yesterday with my partner and we had an amazing meal. Chicken wings and pork belly for starters - the sauces were great and the pork belly was particularly delicious. We had the sirloin steak which was cooked beautifully. I got fries but my partner's chunky chips were even better. We had crème brûlée for dessert - also great. I had cocktails, which were well made and there was a good selection. The Old Fashioned was particularly good. The staff were pleasant and welcoming, they cleared our plates and took our orders quickly, and were very attentive. Thank you for a wonderful evening - we will return!

Nice food but they add service charge with no mention of it.

Great menu of MEAT and surf too. Friendly and attentive staff where you can dine alone or with friends and the atmosphere is a personal one as there are booths and healthy separation of tables. Go nearly every week :)

From walking in through the door the experience began we were met with a smile and lead to a table which was adorned with a large inflated balloon (for our son’s birthday) a nice touch. We were then offered a free glass of bubbles to celebrate, throughout the staff could not be any more attentive. We all ordered steak and I would honestly say it was one of the best steaks I have ever had. All in all, value,service,atmosphere and food could not be faulted.

Had a terrific meal for a party of ten. Couldn’t fault it. The staff were really accommodating and tended to our needs. The Tomahawk steak was delicious, as were the burgers and sides. Well worth a visit.

Well what can I say about this place? We popped in here on the off chance as my partner was getting "Hangry" and she's not very nice when she is..I'm not a big meat eater but occasionally will have a mixed grill so I went with that..oh my..it was THE best mixed grill I've ever tasted..every morsel tasted of a thousand dreams...I devoured it in no time.. absolutely delicious from start to finish...my "Hangry" partner had the rack of ribs and was as equally happy as I was..would I go back? Like a shot ❤️

It was our first visit to The Ilkley Cow and I was extremely impressed - I couldn’t fault anything. The food, wine and coffee were all high quality, the venue itself is a really welcoming space and the service was impeccable. We both had steaks and they were perfectly cooked, but what struck us was the attention to detail obviously given to everything else on the plate. The starters were excellent too - this place offers much more than just great steaks. I’d told the restaurant that we were celebrating a birthday, and the booth was decorated with birthday balloons, which was a lovely touch. We’ll definitely be back again.

Fantastic evening for my son’s birthday. Excellent quality food, brilliant hospitality and they know how to make a birthday special! We will be back.

Had a brilliant meal here last night, the staff were very attentive and friendly, the atmosphere, the country music, and the steak were amazing. Our highlight was the scotch egg in the sharing starter board we had, a must try!

Visiting the area so went for dinner at the Ilkely Cow. Wow! Meals were fantastic, generous portion sizes, beautifully presented and came up nice and hot. Highly recommend the lamb shank that I had which fell off the bone. Husband had mixed grill with chunky chips which were incredible. We were thoroughly impressed by the quality of our meals and desserts, fantastic, friendly service and being given iced tap water as soon as we arrived. We wish we lived closer to return!

First time here and it was so lovely. Went for my daughter’s 21st with 14 family members. The service was fantastic from the start. Staff were all really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was so good. We had starters and mains. They gave the kids colouring books and kept coming back to ask if everything ok with the food. We all had different things. The steaks were huge. The sharing platter starter looked amazing. I had nachos and peri peri chicken. Salmon was a nice sized piece. Everyone said they enjoyed their food. Prices are reasonable for what you get. No skimping on portion sizes here. Lovely evening and I will go back and have a steak next time.

Birthday meal with 9 people. Everyone and everything was first class here. Food was excellent. We will definitely be returning soon. Highly recommend.

Went there recently with family on our trip back to the UK. Steak was tasteless and rubbery and totally season-less. Service was below average and prices remained quite steep for that kind of place . Wouldn’t go back, others in my party enjoyed their food that wasn’t steak…..

Had a fabulous meal we had a tiger prawn starter and the most mouth watering steak ever and the server and bar staff were absolutely fantastic and thank you for all your hospitality you are A1 xxx

I enjoyed it, but... Although I may be in the minority these days, I don't really like dogs in restaurants. Just not how I pitlcture a nice meal. He was well behaved and friendly enough, but can you really not even pop out for dinner for 90 mins without him?

Excellent evening at the Ilkley Cow, they went over and above to make my son's 22nd birthday a special one. They gave us a really good deal on the château briand, and covered it in edible gold leaf, a free dessert for Jake with 22 in icing sugar on the board, a free half glass of fizz for everyone, amazing! Food was lovely, staff attentive, great atmosphere we will be back soon!

Best Steak I have had in a long time. Served promptly, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Reasonably priced, nice location. What's not to recommend?

Came here for the steak deal, gorgeous, the steak was cooked beautifully and the chips amazing 👏 Had covid a few years ago and lost my taste, still not back fully so asked if I could have half sticky toffee pudding and half biscoff cheesecake and they said I could. Fantastic service would highly recommend this place, and great value.

Just walked in and asked if they had a table for six The horrible disgusting little girl laughed in my wife’s face and said no I run several businesses and if one of my staff spoke to a customer in that manner they would be out of the door You are a disgrace

Consistently good food. Staff seemed a little inexperienced on this visit. Still probably the best restaurant in Ilkley though.

Went for husband's birthday. We were the only people in the restaurant, however this was likely due to it being the day after Mother's Day and a Monday evening. Food was delicious. Mixed sharing platter was excellent, great choice if you can't decide what to order! Both had steaks for main which were cooked well, and the chunky chips were amazing! Also tried some bone marrow gravy which was really rich and tasty. Puddings were brownie and creme brulee which were lovely. Long island iced tea cocktails were also good. Service was excellent, very attentive waiter, however we were the only customers so cannot comment what it is like when busy. Will definitely be returning!

This was our first visit to the likely cow, after travelling from the other side of Leeds. And boy it was worth the trip. The food was fantastic, the service amazing and had a great friendly atmosphere. We will certainly be returning soon.

Staff are really friendly nothing to much for them..been a few times but last new years day evening the food was OK not sure what happened because every time we have been it's been top notch maybe with it being the end of the holidays this just slipped a tad but we still will definitely return very soon....

4 adults having pre-booked late lunch on New Year's Eve. Our first visit. The restaurant wasn't overly busy, but that was actually quite nice. Loved the background Country music - not too loud. Staff were really pleasant and efficient. But the food. Absolutely spot on. Starters of steak tartare and the pulled pork scotch egg were all perfect. My scotch egg was sheer bliss! Mains of Duck, Mixed Grill and Sirloin steak were absolutely delicious - my steak was sublime. Side of onion rings was plentiful and delicious. Honestly, I came upon this place on the Internet looking for somewhere to meet our friends for lunch . We're all glad I did! Happy New Year

Arrived on a Sunday at 5pm to be told there was no Sunday dinners left…. Food was ok. Atmosphere was awful, generic USA country music and lights that could blind a mole. Ordered an Old Fashioned that frankly had less in the glass than my last urine sample. Very disappointing.

The service was terrible - waitresses stood around discussing who was “hot” on their phones instead of serving (one was off shift and sat at the bar talking to the other two who were on shift). Had to keep asking for plates to be cleared and for the dessert menu. It was a 20 minute wait for mains to be cleared away. The waitress off shift started making wrenching noises when the other staff were making drinks. It was inappropriate. The steak was tough when cooked medium rare and was fatty. The chicken burger was overcooked. The chips and steak sauce were good but overall the food was poor and amateurish. There was no atmosphere in the restaurant at all and we had to put up with hearing the three waitresses talk about their social lives. When I asked for the bill the wait staff (a young man this time) shouted “what!” at me. I had high hopes for the restaurant but it was let down by its poor service and inattentive staff.

Great staff particularly Milly . Fabulous food and atmosphere. We even loved the music American country which is our favourite. Well done Ilkley Cow.

Early in the evening and we were the only ones in so, no atmosphere until we were leaving (😆😆). The meat was excellent and cooked to perfection, we will be going again.

Very poor service Saturday night. Wasn’t busy so no excuse there. Food arrived but nobody asked if any sauces were required, I had to go and find someone. Never asked if we required a second drink. Waited ages for table to be cleared of dirty plates. Several times throughout evening, front door was left wide open by incoming customers so I had to get up and close it due to howling Gale blowing in. Staff never offered to do this. Then we were billed with the obligatory 10% service charge! I think not, was removed on request.

The service was second to none, to the extent of providing additional requested items which were not on the menu, and answering the many questions of one of our party. Absolutely fantastic food. Steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Was so delicious we didn’t get chance to take a photo! We accompanied it with the sides and sauces included in a brilliantly priced steak night menu available Sunday-Thursday. Great value for money but even better food! Thankyou to Robert for his amazing hospitality we will be back again soon with family! Highly recommend!

Brilliant place, lovely staff and the worlds best chicken wings

Principally a steak restaurant, of course, but I had ribs, and they were absolutely fantastic, best I've ever eaten. My good lady went for a lovely fillet steak, both served with chunky chips. We ordered some onion rings, but it proved to be a step too far, as we couldn't finish them. Fabulous food, service was sharp and friendly people. We'll certainly be back soon.

We had such a great experience at The Ilkley Cow - it’s definitely my new favourite spot in town. The steak was incredible, and Robert was welcoming and attentive. I loved the atmosphere, too, It was the perfect place for a date night, and we can’t wait to come back. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience!

This place has been on my visit list for a while and we were not disappointed! Came as a family for a celebration meal at 5pm on a Friday and the place was lovely and quiet, we had one whole side of the restaurant to ourselves more or less the whole time ! We had the sharing platter for starters, everything on it was absolutely delicious, in particular the scotch eggs!! Me and my partner shared the special tomahawk steak for 2 which was to die for with the chimichurri sauce on!!! All the sides were gorgeous too and my little boy loved his kids steak! Highly recommend and would definitely love to return to try more of the menu!! Would like to say our waiter was absolutely lovely too !!!! Thanks 😊

Quick service! Great food! Lovely atmosphere! 10/10 would recommend The whole meal was very tasty. The scotch egg starter is definitely worth a try! And the burger was as big as my head!!!

A lovely restaurant and well worth the drive (if you’re not local). We visited on a Wednesday so not the busiest however Robert the waiter was incredibly friendly and informative, the music playlist was brilliant and the food was absolutely fantastic. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Friendly helpful staff. Could have done with more veg with the Sunday lunch . No toilet roll in the toilets whatsoever which is really annoying when it was a very quiet Sunday afternoon.
