The Ice Cream Cottage in Tewkesbury

Amazing puddings - such a treat! The whole family love this place & have worked through the menu! the trays are gorgeous. Wish they’d relocate & had more outside seating and regular openings but that’s just us being selfish ;)

We visited the ice cream cottage several times this year, the final visit being 10/12/23. The owner is always super welcoming and friendly. They are able to cater for my allergies (gluten free) and offer a great menu, including vegan options. My children look forward to visiting and would happily go every day if they could. They are slowly making their way through the entire menu! Sometimes, there is a wait, but my goodness it’s worth it. You have to queue at an ice-cream van sometimes but you go expecting this. Makes me smile when I see a queue as I know a small, independently run business appreciates the custom. There is a “standard” menu which can be found online and a vast specials board which changed regularly and includes seasonal specials at Halloween, Christmas and Easter. Cash and card payments accepted and service always with a smile. If you are in the Tewkesbury area, the ice cream cottage is a must! Thank you ice cream cottage.

We had 5 cheesecakes made for a work event... strawberry, banoffee, oreo, biscoff and red velvet. They went down a storm at work and were eaten within an hour 😋😋 cheesecakes were delicious and made our work event a great success 🙌 Thanks to Mandy for sorting us out with a red velvet cheesecake that we hadn't ordered. And thanks to Martyn for making them fresh that morning 🙏

Fab ice cream trays! So glad I found this place, just wish I lived closer! Really good selection of lovely puds and ice cream and very friendly, quick service.

The absolute best ice creams and cookie dough in Tewkesbury. Lovely, friendly staff too. Perfect location to the river and the Abbey gardens.

A fantastic stop for yummy desserts and shakes. We had a knickerbocker glory and ice cream trays which were lovely. Guessing from the number of customers its a popular stop. Very quick service with a smile.

We discovered The Ice Cream Cottage when visiting Tewkesbury for the medieval festival and was so impressed we've found excuses to pass through Tewkesbury several times over the summer! A wonderfully friendly welcome awaits you at the hatch with a chat for the little ones and adults alike. The range of choice is impressive, and as we have all have dairy allergies it was a real treat to find a wealth of choice for dairy free/vegan palates too. We have tried, scooped ice cream in cups, sundaes and desert trays and in all instances the delicious ice cream has been too big for our bellies - but we have selflessly persisted and finished the helpings! A real gem of a find and one we shall continue to find reasons to travel to!

Excellent ice cream, reasonably priced. My only complaint that there is no indoor, and very little outdoor, seating.

Great selection of ice cream tray flavours - I recommend the mint choc and biscoff! Worth the wait in the queue - would be great to have a few more seats/shade in the tiny courtyard.

We visited today and despite it being extraordinary busy (with the famous medieval festival being in town) we managed to order quickly which was taken by a friendly lady at the hatch, and we didn’t wait long to be served our delicious treat either given to us by a lovely polite young girl. My daughter loved her ice cream treat, perfect for a sunny day. Safe to say we’ll be back - thank you

My partner & I have been here on a number of different occasions this year. We are often greeted by a lovely lady who I believe is the owner however, today we were served by a man who we haven't met yet. I'm not sure what part he plays in the business however, he was not very friendly, didn't make us aware of the long delays and got our order wrong. Not sure how we ended up with a chocolate honeycomb sundae rather than what we asked for which was a chocolate heaven tray. Luckily no money was wasted as we do like honeycomb. The other ice creams we ordered were delicious & met their normal standards. We would of said something normally regarding his mistake however, we felt extremely sorry for the staff & didn't want to add to their stress. The whole time whilst taking our order he proceeded to shout at a ginger haired girl (sorry don't like to refer to people by their hair colours but we don't know her name) when she asked a question & said "I will do that get back in there" "you all are really annoying me today". The poor young girl looked like she was about to cry. He then proceeded to say to us when putting our transaction through "sorry about that, they are really stressing me out today." For a business which prides themselves as being "family run" this didn't seem very "family run". I personally wouldn't treat my family like that. We left feeling very concerned about the young girl especially as the queues were getting bigger and bigger. Hopefully, this review reaches the owner and that their normal professional service can return.

Great experience. Well worth a visit if in Tewkesbury. Lovely ice cream with plenty of selections. Very busy at weekends but worth waiting for.
