Mezbaan in Tewkesbury

Having researched this curry house quite extensively as this was my birthday meal , I'm afraid the meal didn't live up to the hype, we had the dips and popodoms for starters, the dips were watery and tasteless, I was starting to get a bit worried then , if you can't get basic dips right it doesn't bode well ! I had a lamb Madras , again pretty tasteless I think the chef forgot to put the salt in ! My wife had chicken shashlack , again dry and tasteless, even my rice and peshwari naan were pretty un inspiring, maybe the chef just had a bad night, I really don't like putting on negative posts , I obviously want things to be good, the staff were very friendly, but it's a package and the food has to be the main, the star o f the show , very disappointed!!

Many indian restaurants in Tewkesbury. Having tried all, this is the best over the past year. However, I have to say the meals aren't always consistently good. I've had lamb dishes where the meat is very tough, needs longer slow cooking imo. I always stick to chicken dishes now when I order here, and that never disappoints. Service always excellent. Friendly staff. Nice decor. Good atmosphere when eating in. Shame they don't deliver out to me outside Tewks (others in the area do).

8 of us ate here on a short break to Tewkesbury. The owners and staff were so friendly and the food was outstanding. Unfortunately we live 100 miles away otherwise we would be regulars! Fantastic place, thoroughly recommended.

I try to come here at least once or twice a month. The staff are all great lads, providing wonderful service, and the food is perfect every time. Not a bad word to say. 10/10!

Ordered vegetable pakora but got onion bhaji swimming in grease,got chicken tandoori balti ,wasn't tandoori, really lacked in taste.nan very small.wouldnt recommended. Plenty other Indians in Tewkesbury to try ,disappointing

Thank you for carrying that authentic Indian taste . You guy made a special curry out of the menu was really surprising and honestly I loved it really value for money and taste it’s just amazing. The owners and staff were really hospitable and kind we really had good conversations while I was waiting for my food. Really great quantity and quality of food . Being from hospitality industry from past 5 years these guys are really doing good job highly appreciated and recommend.

This is our second visit in as many months and we have had exceptional food and service in both occasions. The first was for my daughters 18th when she was even presented with a pudding, candles and a drink on the house! Tonight was for Fathers Day, again a table of 9 served with efficiency and care. Beautiful food which was thoroughly enjoyed. Many thanks to all Staff

Just fabulous food and we have eaten at many different Indian restaurants We had chicken Mezbaan which was gorgeously flavoursome with nice quality chicken and a cod prawn dish which was divine They were very generous with dips for our poppadoms too Recommended

A worthwhile visit to this classy Restaurant. It looks rather unassuming from the outside, but from the inside improves vastly. Great service and food make it a fantastic choice for a curry if you are in the area.

Visited as part of a large group of 12. Pre-ordered food arrived exactly as requested and was really good. Service was excellent and prices reasonable. Clean and pleasant surroundings with smiling staff. Great evening and would highly recommend.

The guy who took my reservation was unnecessarily officious but the meal was quite possibly the best Indian meal I've ever had.

Very good and varied menu offering different flavours and dishes. The monkfish curry was beautiful.

Visited with a large group of friends and staff accommodated us absolutely fine, very friendly and service was mostly excellent. I don't think anybody in our group had any issues with the food whatsoever! My main especially was fantastic (Bengal Naga), not ridiculously spicy and a lovely aroma and taste from the naga chilli. Nice enough decor and atmosphere, though we did have a noisy group of lads on the table behind us doing shots and such, no fault of the restaurant of course and groups can tend to get rowdy, it just removed any feeling of a relaxed environment. Will definitely be returning!

Down in Tewkesbury for a couple of days called in for dinner excellent food and service I would recommend it

This is the tastiest curry I've had in a long time. We were walk ins and they communicated with us about wait times and seated us even though it was really busy. The service was fast and friendly. The food was amazing with complex flavours and lots of quality ingredients. Cobra beer on tap. Proper napkins and a great range of chutneys and dips. I will be going back as soon as possible. Excellent.

THE FOOD IS GOOD AND TASTY BUT THE SERVICE IS TOO SLOW I VISIT TWO TIMES EVERY TIME I WAIT MORE THAN AN HOUR FOR FOOD. STAFF VERY FRIENDLY BUT WAIT MAKE ME UPSET. TWO CHAPLI KABAB FOR 9.99 THATS HIGH PRICE AS WELL WITHOUT ANY NAN BREAD. I RECOMMEND IF U HAVE TWO HOURS FOR DINNER. PARKING PRICE CHEAP 70p HOUR.

Amazing food. Highly recommended, keep coming back for more, nearly completly the menu, staff are so friendly make you feel welcome , top service, drinks staright away along with popapodums, top services keeping drinks topped up and ordering, 10 out of 10 give it ago 😀

Avoid. A place with rude waiters and those with zero manners. It's not always just about food. Rajshahi Indian restaurant in the street is much better than this one. That too, if you are an Indian and know your food, you won't appreciate it 🙂

Banglapedia says, "Mezban a social festival of the Chittagong region. The host is called Mezban in Persian and Mezbani means hosting or arranging a feast for the guests." We say it's a great place to eat with both excellent food and service from a friendly staff 😊

A nice restaurant with a large range of good Indian dishes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Overall pretty much exactly what you’d expect from a good Indian restaurant, and I think it unlikely that you’d be disappointed in that respect. Certainly worth a try if you’re in the area and want a good curry. It seemed very popular so probably worth booking at weekends.

Great takeaway service, great indoor dining service, the staff are extremely friendly, and welcoming. The atmosphere inside is very nice, and they have decorated it very well. A big fan of the genuine painting choices! The food is very good too. The only thing I will say is service can get slow when busy, but this is usual for restaurants, everything else I mentioned makes up for this!

This place is the best of the best. You will NOT find better… always on point, never fails. Perfect all round

I have ordered the food through deliveroo app on 19th November, nobody has delivered the order and on the app they have mentioned that order has been delivered, even I have not received the single call from anyone and best part was nobody at the Restaurent was taking the call. This is such a ridiculous and since then I am trying to reach them anyway I am going to sue them for the same so that someone else should not have the same experience.

I can't express how delightfully delicious our meal was. First of all we ended up in Tewkesbury by chance on a drive home from Edinburgh. What a fortuitous happening. The most lovely small city. We arrived late and ended up in this restaurant...a stroke of luck. Every dish actually tasted different with unique spices and subtle flavours. Food cooked with care and the staff super. We mostly enjoyed the hospitality of one of the owners who took the time to come chat with us and make a personal connection. So rare these days. He treated us so well. We are so grateful after hours stuck in traffic. Made it all worth it! Thank you!

Mezbaan is the best thay have the best server's and all the staff is grate and such a masing food will be going again

Foods pretty good but the waiter with the slick back hair seems irrited by customers. Rude bloke to be fair.

First time in Tewkesbury and was recommended this restaurant by someone who’d been previously. Also recommended by a local couple we spoke to in a beer garden earlier in the day. A pleasant welcome and great service from the moment I walked in. We both ordered from the signature starters and main dishes as they sounded really appealing. Both the monkfish and lamb were top drawer. Will definitely use again if back in the future.

Lovely meal. Crunchy onion and veg in the curry not just a premade base sauce like most do. Hardly any oil visible in the dishes. Great taste. Look forward to my next here.

Very nice Indian restaurant very clean and good service and choices

I really enjoyed my visit to the restaurant. A lot of dishes on offer and I had a mango curry which was different to what I would usually have. The service was friendly. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside and it has a spacious feel. Service was attentive, the price is slightly higher than other curry houses, however, this is reflected in the quality.

Visited this place whilst in Tewksbury for the weekend and omg we was not disappointed. It was amazing food. Service was brilliant. We have been to India many times and the food is amazingly good compared to England but this place is on parr. The best Indian restaurant We’ve been to in England.

Very nice food. Unfortunately they don't understand how to use their point of sale card system for overseas card payments - answering payment information that is meant to be provided by the customer related to exchange rates and transaction fees. The manager was ignorant to this and rude when challenged on it. Shame as the food was pretty good.

Took advantage of the Tuesday evening special. Had poppadoms and pickles, a divine seabass starter and tender lamb with mushroom rice. All for £15.95. Top quality meal, excellent service. The best Indian meal I've had in a long time. Would highly recommend 👌

Went on a whim while staying in town, the portions were large and it all tasted great. The staff were friendly and it was all well presented.

By far the best Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine available in Tewkesbury. The food is excellent, a lot of care and creativity goes into each dish. The staff are extremely accommodating and very friendly, offering great recommendations on dishes and tweaking them to your liking if you desire. All of this for a very reasonable price. I would 100% recommend a visit here.

After seeing a lot of 5 star reviews, we couldn’t wait to give it a try but it was quite disappointing, chicken tikka starter very bland and tasteless. Meat samosas ridiculously spicy. Didn’t even touch the main course.

We booked an evening table here and we were brought to our table, and had drinks orders taken very quickly. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, they were patient with us even though we were the last table to be eating. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced too, we were surprised how low the bill came to be for what we had ordered. Overall a very positive experience and I would highly recommend it.

One star off for how busy they were but certain staff were very polite and accomodating. The food, the best curry ive had in years, fantastic and the prices aren't taking the mick like a lot of new indian restaurants that know they're good. Recommended buy book ahead

Quiet on a Sunday evening, but in fairness the town was. Good service, very generous with the sauces for the poppadoms and an enjoyable vegetable biryani. Unfortunately, I can't remember the price of each item. The bill was around £12. Worth a visit

My dish wasn't the best. Not very hot and quite tasteless for the dish I chose. Staff to busy to check if we were OK or to tell them about the food. On a positive, my husbands meal was good.

The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Warm friendly management and a relaxed atmosphere. One criticism though is that we found the level of lighting too bright yesterday evening. The lights hang quite low down above the individual tables and were particularly bright and dazzling. We just felt that the atmosphere would have been cosier for an evening out of the lights were dimmed a little.

Amazing food & it's the best I've had in years ..also prices are good.Best in Town!
