The Hub in Milton Keynes

A good breakfast, with a wonderful selection of cooked and continental. Great service, with a special mention of Richard who is joyful delight and couldn’t do more to make you welcome.

This page, if you look at the address is for the hubb cafe inside the open university at Walton hall. It’s not for the cluster of restaurants and bars called the hubb in central MK.

the hub offers alot of different cuisines and late night venues. I come to the hub alot and especially at night! i really really Recommend Missoula in the hub! Great night with friends, DJ fantastic and staff are fantastic!

Most reviews seem to be referring to the Hub in central MK which has a multitude of restaurants. But this is actually the restaurant inside the Open University and is open for staff and any visitors. Lots of counters serving hot food, jacket potatoes, handmade sandwiches or ready stuff at a very affordable price. Lots of seating available.

We had a wonderful meal which was exceptionally special due to Amanda’s great service and attention to detail. The food was delicious, we had a lovely evening.

The hub, in my opinion is the best place to go for food or just drinks, there are so many choice to choose from i.e. nandos, turtle bay, las iguanas, missoula, be at one, loch fyne etc. something to suit everyone.

As it was out of term time, opened especially for the conference being held onsite, could only get certain items if you had correct money and asked over the weekend. Food was fine the best was the Sunday lunch before you left.

Excellent set up, really clean and when it’s hot you can sit outside and people watch. Great for kids to play in the water fountain. Love the relaxed atmosphere

arrived for an early lunch to celebrate a friends birthday. The restaurant was cold and when we asked for the heating we were informed that the property has high ceilings so that's why we were cold! I work in building services so i believe they're mechanical services can't have been calculated properly to to provide sufficient heat! When our starters arrived to soup was luke warm so perhaps the cold air had chilled it too much! We waited an hour and 50 minutes for our main course. when we complained to were informed that they were short staffed... why didn't they inform us of this earlier? Other people were on their deserts and we still hadn't had our mains!!! We were one of the first tables to arrive. Our mains arrived (mussels) after they'd been sat on the counter for around 10 minutes so they had started to dry out! Apparently they were waiting for the chips and wanted everything to come to us at the same time! Perhaps the chefs should communicate better as i know mussels only take 5 minutes to cook. The whole experience was unpleasant and we will not be returning or recommend this restaurant to others. The manager gave us 25% off the bill but we would have preferred a decent meal. There are plenty of other restaurants within the Hub and we will definitely be going elsewhere.

The hub offers varied restaurants. Very good choices. Lively atmosphere great food. Easy access. Free parking after 6pm

service was excellent the waiter she was very helplful , food was good it came out nice and hot, the slight down side was they could pay a bit more attention on cleanliness

This is the Open University 'Hub'... I met my friend for our Christmas lunch here, as she works at the OU. We enjoyed a delicious 3 course sit down Christmas lunch. All 3 courses were really nice, especially my beef main. Lovely lunch Carole : )

The food here is lovely and I can't fault that at all but why oh why do the waiters hover waiting to grab your plate after your last mouthful? I was brought up to believe it's wrong to start clearing a table when others are still eating. Spoilt our meal really as they were not busy so didn't need to hustle us out.

A great place for food and drinks day or night. This is my fav area in mk for a meal and a few drink good mix of restaurants and bars.

Took the children to meet my friend that works here for lunch, I do love their deli sandwich counter. The staff are really nice & make real good sandwiches!! Always clean & tidy & a nice place to enjoy lunch. Carole : )

Having just moved to the area i love the hub! Its full of decent restaurants and bars to cater for everyone. Its a unique landscape. Make the most of this in the summer time! Great for meeting new people etc.

Good food in restaurant, good choice, plenty of space, clean, There are helpful staff in dining room. Hub theatre was well laid out for a conference, comfortable seating

As you walk into the hub square you see a beautiful dancing fountain in the centre On all four sides...

El centro tiene un montón de platos diferentes tiendas para satisfacer a todos. El único problema que tengo es que siempre hay mucho viento y debido a los edificios altos no mucho el sol brilla a través de la puerta que comer es un poco frío. Genial para el almuerzo o la cena.

It does what it says on the tin , square with plenty of the UK chain restaurants around it with a fountain in the middle , just 5/10mins walk from station or from town centre . Nicely done and plenty of choice .

Your spoilt for choice here... Las Iguanas, Loch Fyne, Brasserie Blanc, Pizza Express, Zizzis, Cafe Rouge, Nandos, Turtle Bay, Burger Company, Aqua, Banana Tree, Browns.... In my opinion the best here is Banana Tree... Delicious

Met my friend for lunch here today with my two children (8 & 10 years of age), it was lovely & quiet.Lots of choice, as always with some very delicious looking food.We opted for sandwiches this time & they were all very nice, although if it wasn't having a big dinner I would have opted for the cheese puff, chips & mushy peas!!!!Clean place to eat with plenty of choice.Carole : )

Good value, great choice. It's the university refectory. Don't need to say any more but tripadvisor needs 100 characters

Went for lunch here with my friend that works at the OU, she had the soup & & had the help yourself salad.Very busy, guessing it was down to the rubbish weather...but still got a seat.Really reasonably priced & the food is nice.Will be back.Carole : )

I am amused that a works canteen has managed to get into Trip Advisor, but you may be surprised to discover how reasonable it is, how good the food is (most of the time) and the fact that there is no restrictions on entry.Dine with the academic and administrative staff of the Open University, occasionally you see minor celebs, celebrated academics and the occasional prime minister. The food, while canteen style suits many palettes and has been a stock feeding spot on many an occasion.With a great lawn outside, on a summers day it is quite the picnic spot. Pretend that you are smart and hob knob it with the academic hoy poloy.

Went here with my friend who is contracting at the OU, it was quicker than going out & finding a restaurant.I had the haddock & potato soup with two big chunks of bread, extremely good price for what you get. It was nice, lots of haddock.I'd like to try the salad bar next time, it looked really nice. In fact all the food looked good, so it was quite hard to choose something!There was lots of seating, which was good as it was very busy.I will definitely be back with my friend before her contract ends.Carole : )
