I met 2 girlfriends for dinner (one of whom is a vegetarian) at Ho on a Tuesday eve and we all enjoyed our experience. The restaurant has a warm feel and the staff is friendly and very efficient. We shared several plates, each of which allowed very decent tasting portions between the three of us. Vegetarian options were plentiful and the food was both beautifully presented and delicious overall - would certainly go back for the vegetable dumplings alone. Great value for money in very central London, especially if booking during Happy Hour.

We enjoyed the 50% off £50 set menu & complimentary bottle of prosecco. Thought it was excellent value for money as we had got to try a variety of items that we would not normally order such as the Crispy Duck & Fresh Watermelon, Cashew Nuts. It was tasty and refreshing...who knew those favours would work so well together. Would recommend and would book again.

I'd been meaning to come to Ho for a long time and as such I had high expectations. The idea of fusion Vietnamese-inspired food was very appealing and the place had the potential to be outstanding given the inventiveness of the dishes. Sadly, I felt the freshness of the ingredients let us down a bit. The chilli Mayo looked congealed, the slices of lime were dry and the pork belly was a melt-in-the mouth experience which disappointed with a slight aftertaste of meat and broth that was not as fresh as it could have been. It wasn't off at all but it certainly hadn't been cooked that day and it left me with the disappointing realisation that this too tasted a bit of chain food. I found the decor a bit underwhelming too. Cold and slightly aged. Too dark and the tables are far too close to one another. So all in all perhaps my expectations were too high. It was ok but I wouldn't go raving about it.

Good modern Vitnamese food. Waiting staff were lovely but a little too attentive, we got the feeling they were hurrying us even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Without the opentable deal the set menu would have been expensive, but the ordinary menu seemed to be better value.

Take some time and talk to your waiter. If you are looking for a nice evening with great Vietnamese food this is the place to be. All the dishes are supposed to be shared and the kitchen already prepares the dishes in a way that sharing is possible. The advantage is that you are able to try more dishes than by ordering yourself. The quality of the food is very high. We started with the summer rolls and they were fantastic. After that crabs (so soft that you als could eat the shell). The soup pho bo with beef was amazing. The ladies fell completely for the lemon gras chicken. The Vietnamese pork dumplings were delicious. Although we tried to try as much as possible we couldn't try everything. But we will be back for sure. The staff guided us through this evening and everything they recommended tasted excellent. Trust them!

Normally I book my open table deals well in advance, but plans were fluid for a Saturday in town. Decided with a couple of hours to go to book some early evening food & boy was that a great idea! Fancied something spicy & this totally fitted the bill. Took advantage of the 50% off of their £50 set meal. Well worth doing on line as we got a decent bottle of fizz thrown in (that wasn't part of the deal if you walked in) - thanks Open Table. So 3 courses, plenty of spice, loads of food & fizz in the heart of soho, all for £50. Bargain! Food was so tasty, my favourites were the 2 duck dishes. Our waitors & waitresses were well informed and friendly, catering easily for adjustments due to a food allergy. Really impressed as nothing was budget about it except the price . Note: Aware that Thai / Vietnamese food is not cheap but it would have been a little too pricey without the deal (food was to my mind a decent £35 per head selection if I hadn't been privy to the offer). When you think there was a £28 bottle thrown in that means I wouldn't have gripped at a bill that was double, so this was a true 50% off IMO

I would highly recommend HO Modern Vietnamese. Having never been before I wasn't sure what to expect but I was really impressed with not only the food but the service. We had booked the 50% off the £50 menu deal which came with a bottle of Prosecco which is excellent value. Myself and a friend arrived for our table on time, however our other friend was held up at work and we really thought that the staff would try and rush us, but after getting us a drink they allowed us to relax, enjoy the atmosphere and wait for our friend. Once she arrived our waiter came over quickly to sort out our bottle of Prosecco and take our orders and everything arrived promptly, it could not have been better in my opinion. The food itself was incredibly tasty and there was a nice selection on the set menu. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning.

Great food and nice ambiance, not easy to find nice decor in Vietnamese restaurants normally. Great tasting food, the menu with 50% off was good value - would not have been worth £50 though. Minus was that they didn't have any if the sides from the menu that night, and couldn't offer us anything else food wise... They gave us more prose I but I think they should have given us some extra dish or so instead. Would def go back though!

We had the "Rock and Roll Brunch" - at £33 including service, it was excellent value for money and included a bellini cocktail on arrival with appetisers, three starter plates each, a main dish with rice and side of greens, a dessert and unlimited prosecco. You might expect a restaurant promising unlimited prosecco to be a bit slow to top up your glass, but no, the waiters are right on it all the time! There was a mix-up with our booking when we arrived, which was the only downside to the whole experience - we had contacted the restaurant to change the number of people in our booking, but somehow it had ended up that the date and time of the booking got changed instead! Fortunately there was still a table available for us but an apology for the mix-up would have been appreciated nonetheless!

We booked the set menu deal with Opentable so expectations were moderate. They were greatly exceeded. From the initial welcome at the door to the end of the meal the service attitude in the restaurant was genuinely warm, friendly and spot on. In particular our server, Fernanda was one of the best I've experienced in London in a while. The restaurant has a cosy feel to it and wasn't too noisy. It is right in the heart of Soho on Old Compton Street. The food from the soft shell crab starter through lamb and sea bream mains through to ginger infused 'tiramisu' was delicious. I will happily return soon.

Apologies for this review being somewhat overdue. We booked the bottomless brunch for 8 on the 13th February. I couldn't recommend this restaurant more! Some of the tube lines being down on the day and consequently a few of our guests were over 30 minutes late for our 1pm reservation. There is meant to be a 2 hour limit on the bottomless brunch, however instead of starting it from the time of our reservation, they waited until all of our guests arrived whilst still ensuring the ones that were there had drinks and were catered to. The staff were lovely and understanding and throughout our time there (3 hours), the customer service was excellent. The bottomless brunch deal is exceptional value for money - 2 appertisers to share between two, 3 starters each (!!!), a main accompanied by 2 sides of rice and green veg each, a dessert, cocktail on arrival and lots of prosecco for £30! The food was lovely. 2 of our party were gluten free and they were considerate of this throughout without reminders, amending the menu where possible to ensure we did not miss out. We will be coming back and recommending Ho to all of our friends. Thank you for making this a lovely and memorable afternoon for us all!

We had a lovely dinner at Ho Modern Vietnamese on Friday night and thoroughly enjoyed the starters and main courses. The free bottle of Prosecco was a very welcome treat and made the evening a bargain night out. The only let down was the dessert which was basically a dollop of thick cream on a ginger biscuit. After the quality of the first 2 courses this was a big disappointment. The service was attentive and friendly and I definitely wouldn't hesitate to return if a similar deal was available.

Was walking through Soho starving with the girlfriend when I remembered I had read something about Ho and wanted to check it out.The receptionist was friendly and professional and gave us a nice table in the window. Our waitress promptly arrived and introduces herself, she was nice and seemed organised, but also seemed very rushed as she was alone running a relatively large section. My girlfriend having a mild peanut allergy, we asked which dishes contained peanuts that may not be listed on the menu, and our waitress said she would get a supervisor to answer our questions. We never saw a manager/supervisor in the end, so decided to go ahead and order anyway. It took a while for us to get the waitresses attention, through no fault of her own really, she was just super busy. The food started arriving one dish at a time starting with the cold ones then moving to warm then hot.The tuna tartar was delish, the ceviche was okay but the duck and watermelon salad was probably one of the best dishes I have ever had.One of our dishes was accompanied with a sesame prawn cracker and another with some popcorn, but both had clearly been made several days before and lost their crunch. The ribs were also delicious, but when I asked one of the food runners if we could get a bowl of rice with it, it never arrived.I know that it's never a good idea to order stuff from food runners, and would always normally wait for our waiter to take the order, but as I said before, she was super busy and getting her attention was out of the question.A bit later, towards the end of our meal when the room had quietened down, our waitress came over to us for a chat, apologized for not spending a lot of time with us which was nice and also apologized for the food coming out slowly which we thought was intentional.Desert, some kind a ginger tiramisu was very good and so was the Vietnamese style coffeeWas a great night overall, thanks to a good waiter and some very tasty dishes, but I think staffing levels and training need to be looked at in order to make the place perfect. Will definitely be coming again though!

Despite the staff not being able to find our booking via Open Table and then suggesting we had gone to the wrong restaurant we had a great pre- theatre dinner on Thurdsay night. We started with the fresh prawn rolls and then pork dumplings followed by the seabass and then the chicken accompanied with jasmine rice and mixed Asian greens. To finish, we had another round of pork dumplings. There wasn't anything I could fault with the food. The seabass came wrapped in a banana leaf and when opened looked like a work of art. It was all delicious and we will get back. The staff were friendly and given we were there pre- theatre everything was smooth and we felt like we had been there for the evening. I attended the restaurant here. The menu did not state what was and wasn't vegetarian/vegan. When I consulted the waiter he informed me that I had one choice on the menu - the vegetable Pho as EVERYTHING else on the menu contained fish sauce and could not be substituted without. The Vegetable Pho was lovely and I enjoyed it. Upon finishing I went to suggest to the staff that they make the marking on their menu clearer as if I had not thought to clarify I was Vegan and did not eat fish or egg products, I would not have known. The lady there did argue a little about it with me, and I felt I had to inform her that I was merely making a suggestion to prevent mistakes and confusion with others in the future, however, she accepted my views and said they would take my feedback on board. She then informed me there was one other fish I could have had but it was too late.Good Pho, but I would not return due to the lack of choices. Sorry!

I went here with my work for our Xmas party. I was a little hesitant having never eaten Vietnamese cuisine before. I needn't of worried, the tapas style dishes were all delicious (special mention to the squid) and it was really well priced at £18 for 3 dishes and a glass of prosecco. I would definitely return. It did lack that really really special feel which is why I've given in 4/5

Absolutely loved this place - great offer and food was lovely and looked after really well by the Portuguese waitress. Definitely worth a second visit and would highly recommend!

Not much to add to the previous reviewer bar my agreement. The food was good, lovely ambience and location - very cosy. The portions were small though. We had a couple of starters (labelled small sharing plates) - soft shell crab was one and grilled octopus another. Delicious no doubt.Main course I had a seafood pho, wife had duck breast. Both lovely but I was still hungry and for a bill that came to over £100 (we did have wine too) that's probably meaning I wouldn't rush back - not to say I wouldn't go back, just not in a hurry..Perhaps I should have said something, the staff were really nice, just felt a bit of dodgy thing to grumble about ('oi mate, I'm still hungry').They should think about recommending a rice/noodle order or even providing some complimentary on the side for hungry people to munch on.

Enjoyed a good pho in this more interesting dark lit restaurant. Service is good and the menu looks good with a lot of sharing options but alas when you order a pho, you can't have much else. Will go back another time to try those options.

Nice atmosphere right in the heart of Soho but the portions were minimal. Nice big bowl of Pho, lots of liquid but very little chicken in it. We complained to the manager, who was very attentive and offered us free desserts but quite frankly, our party was underwhelmed with the offering here which is a shame given it's wonderful location and nice ambient lighting. Service was also pretty slow.

I think the food was lovely and in good quantities. The free flowing bubbles complimented our Christmas party very well! We would definitely return.

I recently visited for my friends birthday. Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. A sharing based menu which, although is rather pricey, didn't fail to deliver on taste and freshness. Worked out circa 40 pound ahead including drinks.A lovely calming retreat of a restaurant in the middle of a crazed soho. The staff were very accommodating. It was no trouble fitting in our party of 6 at a drop of a hat.

We came to this restaurant as we had a timeout voucher which got us a set menu with unlimited prosecco (although we only got 2 bottles), the starters weren't fantastic, the main menu was nice (had a nice green leaf curry) and the dessert was ok. Nothing really stood out for me when it came to the experience or the food which left me slightly disappointed. I've had better Vietnamese in my time.

We visited last Friday night. I was looking forward to trying some Vietnamese dishes but unfortunately was underwhelmed. The portions were far too small and all very overpriced for what it was.the staff is friendly and accomodating.

If you want to waste your money and eat overpriced bland food then this is your place! We had a few of the sharing platters, the dumplings we sent back as they tasted like they'd been cooked using the chef's feet. In a theme of Christmas they were as generous as Scrooge when it comes to portion sizes. I felt like Tiny Tim when we were done. More Sir, please?!There was a load of Staff waiting around, none of which asked if our meal was ok, because they add 12.5% service charge so don't care about you, the customer! Genuinely wish we would've had a subway instead. Would've been cheaper and actually achieved the aim of being fed. We had to go for a pizza after (recommend the place opposite the Lyric theatre it's fab).If I could give 0 stars, I would. In fact that's not fair, the decor was rather nice. Well done decor, you did a better job than the chef and waiters. You deserve your share of the service charge.

The staff were exceptional. Attentive without being obsequious. My personal tastes didn't like the aubergine, and it's usually a veg that I love but the egg spoiled it. But the starters especially...yum yum yum.

Ho Modern was a disappointing dining experience. In London, one is spoiled for Vietnamese restaurants. The food at Ho was lacklustre, and the menu limited. We would not recommend this restaurant.

Came here on early on a Saturday evening and had no problems getting a table for 2 without a reservation. The atmosphere was cosy but modern and the servers were attentive in taking our order. We opted for the half price set menu for £25 each, which was great value for the amount of food we got - beef with peanuts, duck with mint, and trout salad to start; sea bream and chicken curry for main with rice and Asian greens; plus crème brûlées for dessert. Everything was tasty, although nothing stood out as amazing with perhaps the exception of the duck starter, as duck and mint was a new combination I had never tried but worked very well. As the evening progressed however the service became non-existent, which was no problem for us as we were not in a rush, but by the time we came to try and ask for the bill we realised we had been sat without question for over an hour. Overall I would say it was good and I may return, but would not be worth the visit without such a good offer on the table.

food, awful service, overpriced. Tasteless and bland at best! Shrimp and lemongrass summer rolls were basically tastless rolls of carrot and cabbage. Pho as bland, with poor quality beef and not even hot!

I have been to House of Ho a couple of times now and have absolutely loved it each time! The atmosphere is great and on warmer nights they open the massive windows onto the street, which as a lover of people-watching suits me perfectly!Great cocktails and the food is always delicious - the jasmine smoked ribs are a must. Will 100% come back, I'm desperate to try their Sunday brunch!

Service was not that friendly and food was good but not great. The servers could explain more about the food and be friendlier. The prices are quite steep given the amount of Vietnamese establishments in the area and London. Nice ambience and dark decor and a nice restful place to relax and eat when in Soho.

This restaurant is VERY EXPENSIVE!!! The prices are Michelin starred level. It sets itself as a fine dining restaurant, with fine dining prices. However, the taste of the food, while not bad, is too intense that me and my gf had to wipe the sauce from the chicken before eating it. The portions are very small even for a main course.Service was good but at that price it should be. However, at the end of the day people go there for food, not for service. And for the price, it's just not worth it.

There are positives and negatives about this restaurant but overall, if you can avoid it, do it at all costs.Positives:Athmosphere is nice and cosy. The food is relatively tasty.Negatives:The restaurant is way understaffed. Waiters are running around like headless chickens. Too much to do, no organisation. The managers are overwhelmed. You have to beg to order, you wait for a long long time for your dishes, you have to beg for the desert menu, the wait forever to get the bill after asking for it.The food comes in very small portions that are very expensive for what they are (9 pounds for 3 balls of crab?? Same for a tiny plate of octopus). Drinks are overpriced too. Although you can go for cheap prosecco (tastes like vinegar mixed with sparkling water).Verdict: not again.

We stopped in here after 9:30 pm, and took advantage of their post-theater menu. This turned out to be a very nice selection of modern Vietnamese dishes, at a very reasonable price. Everything was very tasty; we look forward to coming here again.

The restaurant is an interesting fusion of a traditional Asian/Vietnamese style restaurant, but with a clearly modern twist. I was in there for cocktails but the menu was varied and interesting, and I will certainly be back to sample it. The cocktail was a twist on a typical mojito. I doubt I'd be able to say exactly what they did with it so I won't try. But it was refreshing, strong enough to feel like you were getting a cocktail, but not at all overpowering. I enjoyed the twist at the end, and felt that it was very reasonably priced - which for this part of London was surprising. I enjoyed it so much I had two in the end!I could also see that the waiters were all very well informed. They knew their cocktails, and flavours, and were able to advise us on what we would probably prefer. They were keen to be helpful, and brought us some little nibbles as well which I thought was a really nice touch and totally unexpected. Overall a very pleasant experience and I will definitely be back for the food which smelled absolutely divine!

I love this place. I was lucky to be served by a guy called Denniz and he was really good. I tried a few things as he suggested and everything was so delicious , especially the pork belly. He also suggested a cocktail like a mojito but with a twist and was very good. I recommended this place to some friends and they also had a very nice experience.

We booked for a Saturday lunch time offer of a full meal and unlimited bubbly. I was unsure about whether this would mean unlimited fizz but it didn't disappoint. We had a lychee Bellini on arrival and the food was excellent. The drink was flowing and when we finished one bottle we were immediately given another. I think our table of 6 did 10 bottles of prosecco. It was outstanding value for soho and great food, and brilliant service from our waiter Gary.

I ate at the restaurant with a friend on a Tuesday evening while in London on business. We booked a table in advance as we expected it to be busy. However, only around a third of the tables were taken while we were there. Overall it wasn’t a very good experience. There were far too many staff working but none of them seemed to know what they were doing. The food was very expensive and very disappointing. The portion sizes were tiny and everything tasted too salty, fatty and not particularly warm. An example is £18 for about 6 cubes of lukewarm chewy beef! The wine was good but didn’t manage to save the meal. They automatically add a big service change to your bill but we asked them to take it off as we didn’t feel they deserved it. We came away from the meal feeling ripped-off, disappointed and still hungry! I definitely would not return and don’t recommend it at all.

Came here for the Unlimited Prosecco brunch on a Sunday & was not disappointed. I must admit, I did expect to be requesting the drinks frequently & potentially not getting my money's worth with this deal, but I was so wrong! Atmosphere was great when I walked in around lunch time, everyone appeared to be on the Brunch deal & were pretty drunk!! The waiters were doing a fantastic job of keeping everyone topped up.The food choices on the Brunch menu were great, I was stuffed by the end of it, you wont be short on dishes. All dishes were cooked really well, a great mix of dumplings / salads / meat dishes.Slightly more 'Western' focussed menu (e.g chicken wings) than some of the other Vietnamese places around Soho, but great food nonetheless.

Met up with friends for brunch at house of Ho. Mixed reviews so didn't know what to expect really. It exceeded our expectations with a fabulous selection of starters chicken salad and squid were favourites 3 of each per person and generous portions. Main course worth paying the supplement for the beef it was melt in the mouth. Dessert was a creme Brulee all washed down with never ending prosecco. Wonderful food and great value for money will definitely be returning

Walked in with no expectations looking for a decent meal in Soho. Service was polite, but two of our dishes went missing. Everything was salty, especially the pork dumplings which were inedible. I've eaten good twice as good for half the price round the corner. Disappointed; certainly wasn't worth what we paid.

I just love the authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The food is always flawless. It’s beautifully presented and the flavours are mouthwateringly tasty. The service is friendly and efficient. Just love it here.

That restaurant is inside the City, so they mainly offer healthy food for take away for a quick lunch. They have some tables inside, so you can also eat inside. That’s what we did. They have a quick way of ordering food, do it yourself style, and they are very fast delivering the food. That’s very convenient for the City.

El local no es nada bonito, uno no se ve muy tentado a entrar al pasar por la puerta. Sin embargo, la comida es rica y el precio muy accesible. Tomamos pho (una sopa vietnamita) y comimos unos fideos con verduras y camarones.
