The House of Hô in Camden

This place really goes above and beyond to STEAL YOUR MONEY. They took a deposit of £300, no service provided and will not issue my refund. I had a private event booked, confirmed and deposit paid for 09/12/2023. The restaurant stopped replying to all emails and phone calls from a week beforehand. This resulted in going down in person to sort out any issues. Turns out there had been closed for a while, Elaine (owner) and Tanvir (no clue what his role is) did not bother to communicate anything and had I not shown up prior I would have been standing in the street with 20+ guests. Did I mention they have stolen and refused to refund my £300 deposit??

Such an aesthetic place with heart warming delicacies ✨️ The Menu here is quite smartly planned and I just loved the shrimp dumplings. 🍤

The food at this restaurant is lovely but the service tonight was absolutely shocking … the food came at all different times and then we were completely ignored after the mains to the point of rudeness!! We had to ask for the table to be cleared after each course and it was like they just didn’t care! We have been left a little stunned and wondering what was going on!

I had my birthday party with 35 friends last week in the private dining room and I can not praise enough the stuff and the venue! From the moment I met Tanvir who helped me with the booking choice of food and drinks to the evening when Diane, Jennifer and their colleges behind the bar and in the kitchen looked after us without any fault throughout the night! Everyone commented afterwards on the delicious food, cocktails, drinks and how much they enjoyed the party ! Thank you House of Ho!!

If you're looking for a place to have the best event then The House of Ho is perfect! We held a baby shower in one of their event rooms and the whole evening was amazing in every way. The food was delicious and the bar has incredible cocktails. This place is also great for dinner and drinks. A huge thank you to the great team who looked after us and went above and beyond for our evening: Tanvir, Jenny, Joey and Omar Can't wait to go back again

We used The House of Hô for two private events in the Saigon room for around 20 guests each time. Fantastic food and drink options, set menu's had plenty of food. The room was great and nice to have access to our own bar. Tanvir was brilliant in helping with the organisation of the events, nothing was too much trouble and made it really easy for us.

Amazing food at this fun and friendly restaurant. Large selection of delicious vegan/ vegetarian food - defo try the crispy tofu and aubergine salad. My wife’s beef randang was apparently very good too. The staff are kind and attentive and they welcome our little dog Scout after we called ahead to check she was welcome. Lovely outdoor area too. Will be back

The food was good/ok here, nothing special. Daniela who served us was run off her feet and the Manager didn’t seem to be bothered to help her. She was good a 4/5 for service but often distracted trying to help others. Was quite busy as were all good places in this area.

We have had a lovely wedding lunch party with 30 guests at Saigon bar at The House of Hô. Food was amazing from starter to main dish to dessert with good portions. All of the guests loved the food. The best thing I want to mention about the restaurant is the Service. Exceptional service from the staff. All are friendly and attentive. "Tanvir" helped us from the start of reservation til the end of the party. Very friendly, great communication. Quick-witted and very helpful. Definitely recommended to everybody ! Solid 5 stars !

Bad food and bad service The staff was treated us very bad. The food was very bad and they didn’t stop staring at us.

Our first time here and it was fabulous. We were met and taken upstairs to a room all of our own by a very charming lady and seemingly had the wonderful Raffi all to ourselves, he looked after us so well, very attentive and sweet and just super efficient. The food was amazing, we shared everything between the 7 of us and every dish got rave reviews. The building is very characterful and the whole evening was really memorable.

I booked a table through the restaurant reservation system. When I got there the staff told me the restaurant was full and they were too busy to cancel my reservation. Don't count on it. Beware!!!

Be VERY careful how you pay. We enjoyed a decent meal on 14 May 2022 at House of Ho. Paid at the end using Amex. It took until 28 Sept before the £360 bill actually hit my Amex statement. The final transaction on that statement. Intriguingly, it then appeared AGAIN on 29 Sept, as the first transaction on that statement. So it wasn’t until the end of October when that statement was issued that we realised we’d been charged twice for the same dinner. Contacted the restaurant by email and phone, as advised by Amex, in an attempt to get one of the transactions refunded. To date and after a month the House of Ho’s GM has refused to refund, making all sorts of bizarre & contradictory excuses as to why not. So they have been ‘paid’ twice for the same meal. Something very fishy about how it took 4 months to charge in the first place and then the two transactions straddled statement dates. One excuse made was to suggest that house of Ho have a ‘problem’ with Amex and this isn’t the first time this sort of thing has ‘happened’. All very odd and customer definitely doesn’t come first with them - they’re happy I’ve paid 2x£360 and couldn’t care less about us as customers. Amex are now dealing with potential fraud and will obviously refund me. I’ve suggested my thoughts on what’s been happening there to them, so they can fully investigate. Needless to say we won’t be dining at House of Ho again. £360 was slightly expensive for the food we had - £720 is extortionate!
