Just had the Sunday Carvery - really good - roast beef was rare and tender, roast pork was tasty with good crackling, vegetables were nicely cooked with just a hint o indian spices Hight recommended - good value for money - we will visit again

Our first time here. The menu took a bit of working out but we enjoyed a really lovely meal. Just be aware these authentic curries are much hotter than the traditional ‘British’ curries. Butter chicken was beautifully cooked in a fresh creamy sauce but spicy. Just think it would be more professional if the waiter hadn’t worn his outdoor coat all evening, especially as he was going between the kitchen and the restaurant. Not a great look either. Upon entering difficult to decide if he was general public or staff. That said all staff were friendly. We will return.

Not inviting, first staff member couldn't manage a smile. Food 'acceptable' until pudding... microwaved apple pie with a shot glass of custard was very unpleasant.

We were all very impressed with the Indian food on offer. Having lived and worked in Asia for many years we found the food to be authentic and appreciate it is cooked to order with first class ingredients. It should be noted the high standard is not as is found in the normal Indian take away so if mild taste needs to be catered for ensure that the kitchen is aware! All in our party will be back for more and congratulations to all involved on what is being achieved!

Has recently reopened under new Management 7 of us locals attended for dinner and were extremely disappointed. When ordering Salmon I was told it came with mash potato or veg, waitress looked shocked when I asked for both. It was served on a tiny starter plate, £14.90. Curry and rice was served in 2 seperate small bowls, had to ask for a plate, side plate was given, however apparently it tasted nice. Burger and fries again served on small starter plate, Mcdonalds tastes better and better value. Chicken was dry and tasteless. A lamb dish had very little lamb and again served in a small bowl. Seemed like forever to clear plates away, despite restaurant not being that busy. No desert menu offered had to ask. Rice pudding served in a ramekin. Feedback given, not convinced it was taken onboard. Young man behind the bar was excellent, young man who bought food out, and was 3rd day of working there did very well, despite lack of leadership from his peers. Wont be returning for food anytime soon and certainly couldnt recommend to family and friends as it currently stands. I truely hope that they turn this around, but I wont hold my breath.

We went for the Sunday Carvery and we were delighted with it. Everything was exceptional. On the Sunday we went we had a choice of Beef, Pork or Gammon. I had a mix of all 3 and they were all cooked to perfection. The roast potatoes which I find are normally poor at most carveries were brilliant. Properly crispy on the outside and beautifully soft in the middle. The Yorkshire puddings were awesome and all of the veg was cooked perfectly. And last but not least, the gravy….you guessed it, also brilliant. All 4 of us were thrilled with our lunch and we will definitely be back. Thank you.

We found this wonderful pub when looking for somewhere to stay in our motorhome. They offer their carpark for you to pitch up for the night. On arrival, we were greeted by Fred the friendly landlord who showed us around and was very helpful. We enjoyed a lovely evening of delicious cider and tasty food! Nikki and Fred were very welcoming and the food was fab! I highly recommend you visit this pub - you wont be disappointed. We even enjoyed a Full English brekkie the next morning with unlimited tea!! We popped in on a Sunday lunch visit travelling home from a break. Can have no complaints about the food, service or price. Wife is pescatarian and had a fish option. All the food was spot on, very good value for the price and good friendly staff. We had our dog with us so went into the small front bar rather than the restaurant area, no issues with that and common sense. Don’t see where anyone can have a problem with that arrangement Highly recommended and will return when passing

Went on a Sunday lunch . We arrived at 12 noon so you’d expect food to be freshly cooked . Cauliflower cheese was watery . Beef was over cooked . Gravy too thin . Parsnips not cooked enough . Deserts very poor and tasteless . Bakewell tart tasted stale . Service at our table was brilliant and the young waiter was super . Sadly despite us visiting before covid , most weeks we probably won’t visit again . It’s a shame as the garden is ideal for families and the new pods look brilliant.

Quite empty on a Wednesday night, just one other couple. Menu is nice with fair prices. Initial member of staff efficient, but not very friendly. The Landlady came over later and was much more welcoming. I'm low carb and have been for 3 years. I'm very privileged to be able to eat out approx every week, whether it's a 'builders' type cafe, a cheap 'Hungry Horse' pub chain, up to high end restaurants, all the places I've eaten in that time have been very happy for me to choose slightly differently off the menu. From their menu I chose salmon with asparagus, served with potatoes and carrot £15.25 but asked NOT to have the potatoes and carrot, I also chose to go with it a small prawn salad with fresh bread £6.95 and asked for NO bread. This all came and was very tasty (though I did expect more than 2 sticks of asparagus! My husband chose the burger and said it was very nice. When it came to pay the bill, which included one gin and tonic, one pint of shandy and one chocolate brownie, I was surprised to be charged £60. I asked whether that was correct as £15.25 for a small salmon fillet with two sticks of asparagus is rather expensive and I was told it was correct, items on the menu are not priced individually and it was my choice not to have the potatoes, bread and carrots. Though of course, they are correct, this has never happened in the last 3 years! I would not go back and will find somewhere else to eat when we visit again in the summer.

I made an on line booking for a birthday lunch for my wife and received a confirmation email. When we went in I was told, very brusquely, they didn't have a booking. Whilst searching for the email confirmation on my mobile they suddenly found I did have a booking and a half hearted mumbled apology ensued. The salmon was "off" so we had to go for an alternative and opted for the Hunters Chicken, which was "alright" but the accompanying squash was watery and flavourless. My wife commented that I should show them how to cook the squash, which I cook regularly at home. We moved on to the desserts and my wife said her cheesecake was nice. I opted for the Spotted Dick. It had an "unusual" spicy flavour, never before experienced with Spotted Dick, but exactly what it was I do not know but I ate it, together with the cream. In reality it is a cheap, budget supermarket pudding that is thrown in the microwave for a minute or so and not even worth the 55p portion of it's £6.55 cost. We paid and left and as the afternoon and evening progressed I couldn't get rid of the horrible aftertaste from the spotted dick and also developed very bad indigestion and repeating. Even after repeated Gaviscon and Indigestion tablets it was still there the next day so they were continued. We had planned to have the next day, Saturday, in London and had a restaurant booked at 1645 prior to our booking at the Royal Opera House at 1900. However, I felt very rough on the Saturday morning so we abandoned the "rest of the day" in London and considered abandoning the rest . We waited until mid-day before cancelling our restaurant booking as I just couldn't face eating anything. (I have the email confirmation of it's cancellation) We then caught the last possible train to get us to London in time for the performance and came straight home afterwards. It was either that or lose over £400, just because of a dodgy Spotted Dick. I was still suffering for most of Sunday and couldn't face cooking our Sunday dinner either. Would we return to the Horseshoe ? A most definite NO.

We found details of this pub on a Facebook group that lists pubs that allow motorhomes to park overnight. We got here and we’re met by the landlord who opened up a bay for us to park and hook up to the electric. The staff could. It have been more friendly and helpful. They have heated pods in the garden which we sat in to eat while we watched the sun go down. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. In fact we could not choose the star trees so we ended up picking 3 😳😊 They have a big selection of ciders and gin so both the wife and I were happy. I booked the Horseshoe Restaurant for my mums 60th after reading great things about it. We had a surprise meal booked for 25 people of all ages. From the first phone call they were so helpful and couldn’t do enough for me. All I had to do was get together a list of each individuals meal choices for them about a week in advance, and we agreed to start serving at 7pm in the evening of January 11th 2020.We were even able to decorate the room beforehand and bring our own birthday cake. Some people ordered starters and just before 7 we were kindly asked if we were ready for service, and then after seating all the starters were brought out at exactly the same time, and they were amazing, tasted delicious and were faultless. A little after the mains were brought out (all 25 of them!) at exactly the same time and piping hot, they were absolute perfection. I speak for everyone when I say they were perfection, it all tasted absolutely incredible. I couldn’t believe how amazing the service had been from the very first phone call to the very last drink, it was exceptional. Thankyou for making this surprise meal so memorable.

My parents took me and the wife here for a Sunday lunch. It was fantastic, one of the best roasts around the area. Definitely going back. Great beer garden to.

I was so impress with the starters until the main food arrived, it was very average, over priced and you can see them from my photos. The staff were very attentive and we had excellent friendly service but more attention is required to the quality of ingredients and cooking of main courses.

Enjoyed a superb Sunday carvery lunch here with family. Good sized table, friendly staff on a busy day. The beef, pork and lamb were all cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavour, good sized portions of meat. Great selection of vegetables followed by excellent desserts. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We were passing through on our way back from a weekend in Norfolk. Beautiful Sunday carvery -beef was best I’ve tasted for a while. Starter of pea and mint soup also very good. No room for dessert but others looked lovely.

We stayed in the carpark in our motorhome and the pub provides electric hook for free, the ground is slightly sloping but with ramps it was easy to level. We had a fantastic meal of pulled goat and I had macrel, both were of a very high standard and tasted incredible. We would recommend this pub for a meal and as a motorhome stopover to anyone. Staff are very polite and the pub is lovely.

Our Local pub and restaurant - where we mostly eat out and we are lucky to have the “Shoe” on our doorstep. Always feel there is not a lot of point travelling elsewhere when we have this facility so close to home. Good quality food, not cheap, but well worth the cost of you like to have a quality meal put

This was the hottest night of the year and I felt sorry for the staff, it was sweltering, all windows were open but there were no fans or anything for their benefit.

A couple of retired colleagues and I tried the Shoe for the first time in many years. Good car parking and a large and attractive beer garden. We had a good welcome from the person who served us and we went for pie of the day (lamb), burger, and fish and chips. I had the pie which was excellent and came with mash and veg—a bit more gravy would have been welcome. My colleagues enjoyed the burger and fish and chips. The burger was pinker than I would have liked but was fine for my colleague. The fish and chips had a relatively modest piece of fish which was a bit of a surprise as the meal was the most expensive at £13-95 and didn’t represent as good value as the other meals. The beer was also well kept. Would we go again—yes we would. It’s a bit more expensive than a number of other pubs we have visited over the last 3 years (we try to visit a new pub in the area every 4-6 weeks) but the food is tasty and the surroundings convivial.

We wanted to try somewhere new, in a village, not a chain, as we have had some disappointing experiences recently. Offord D'Arcy is about 10 minutes from St Neots town centre. Its a bit of a mixture, as villages go, with some lovely properties and your average modern stuff. Some very average. But don't let that put you off, as The Horseshoe Inn and Restaurant (The 'Shoe) is far from average. The inside is deceptively large with a typical village pub and bar area at one end and several dining areas extending into the old barn area, where the kitchens and a coffee bar are situated. A large beer garden (with kids area) and a paved courtyard, too.

We stopped by for dinner as we were staying nearby at the Waterfront Hotel. We were honestly taken aback by the quality of the food! We couldn’t resist and was tempted by their blondies with cardamom and orange served with pistachio ice cream....

This review is for five adults one two year old and a dog. We phoned and booked a table .On arrival were shown into the snug where the table was set for us with a high chair and child dinner set up. We ordered appetizers of halloumi fries, fish bites and Persian lamb which we all shared. Very tasty. We then ordered five different main meals , chicken Matsu burger (best he had ever tasted), fish finger sandwich with salad (plateful), 2 X pulled pork pie one with mash one with chips, frittata with salad (cannot wait to have that again), and a children's portion of pasta. Served by excellent staff and cannot fault them . One tiny tiny observation might be an extra spoonful of gravy on the pies, but asked for a sauce wich duly arrived with a smile. Will definitely be back. Many thanks.

I have been going to Eric’s at Thornham since they first opened, it was excellent , but gradually going downhill The batter and chips have changed so much the batter is hard and horrid whereas it used to be so crispy and the fish was so thick and tasty the chips used to be so good Went today was a small piece of fish cooked in hard batter and the chips were white and so soggy I was so dissapointed in today The fish and chips have slowly going downhill I used to love and look forward to going to Eric’s but not anymore I paid for a medium but got a small hard battered piece of fish Sorry but you need to improve your service, it’s not good anymore

We came to try the carvery last Sunday. As in a previous visit here a little while back, we received really nice, friendly service. The lunch is excellent value for money, the food very nice, and the whole atmosphere is so nice and pleasant. I would definitely recommend The White Hart to anyone.

I’m local to the hotel however haven’t eaten here for a while. Staff were very pleasant but the food really was only average, pretty poor actually considering its rating. Location and setting great but I wouldn’t return for a meal.

I can't comment on the food as I didn't have any but the staff was nice, it was peaceful and not overly crowded.
