Been a couple of times on trips to Meadow Bank stadium, nice pub, good atmosphere, nothing to dislike at all. 👍

This pub barred my friend because he has ADHD. They served him a cocktail half the size, when he asked to have normal size they barred him. They obviously can afford to loose customers and discriminate against people. Boycott the place folks!

On a snooker trip went here between sessions. Great friendly staff and locals. The pint was very good aswell

Im Hoppys hat man das Gefühl eine Zeitreise in die 80er Jahre zurück gemacht zuhaben. Der alte rote Teppich und die restliche Einrichtung ist mit Sicherheit aus der Zeit übrig geblieben! Trotz des inzwischen bestehenden Rauchverbots, ist der Jahrzehnte lange kalte Rauchgeruch ein ständiger Begleiter in der gesamten Gaststätte. Der Wirt ist sehr freundlich und authentisch. Die Preise sind für Edinburgh günstig, und die Getränkeauswahl gut. Auch ein Fernseher hängt für sportübertagungen im Gastraum. Wer keinen all zu hohen hygienischen Anspruch hat, kommt im Hoppys auf seine Kosten. Ich mag solche Kneipen!

Visited here yesterday before the hobs game. Lovely pints of Guinness, lovely bar staff and good atmosphere with a good mix of home and away fans. Only downside was the st Johnstone fans stank of BO. Maybe they could keep a spare can of lynx African behind the bar to get rid of the smell of the teenage desperation. Great wee boozer

I enjoy going to the Hoppy with my friends its such a quiet relaxing place. Tony always make you feel welcome and always chats away to his customers, very polite man.

Kareoke on Fridays and Saturdays is tons of fun. CASH ONLY. Many regulars and staff is very sweet. Its right downstairs from us so we go often! Super cozy!

Very disappointing. It has definitely gone downhill since it reopened under new management. When I ordered a pint they kept giving me really short measures, about 3/4 full. After I was served I had to wait about 5 minutes to ask for a top up. They then begrudgingly slopped the beer into the glass and almost threw it at me, as if I was an inconvenience. The staff had an unfriendly manner.

Nous y sommes allés un dimanche pluvieux pour voir un match, nous avons étés très gentiment accueillis avec soupe à l'oignon, fromage et petits oignons à déguster avec la bière commandée. Excellent accueil, je recommande !

Seems odd people are putting this place down for being what it is a local friendly dive bar full of great people, plenty of hipster places nearby if thats what you are looking for, I hope this place never changes its got a good vibe.

Staff were amazing! We were temporarily stranded due to an Airbnb mix up and they were so helpful and welcoming. Great drinks and crisps! Excellent value!

Great Beer, Great Staff and always good banter! I first came in 6 years ago from Jedburgh and I was made to feel welcome and in all honesty I've never looked back! Best Bar in Edinburgh for me!

Good old fashioned Edinburgh 'corner bar'. Good selection of beers and lagers with the football on most nights to boot! Great service behind the bar and good conversation on the other side....

Always seems to have aggressive guys outside who will have a go at you. Doesn't feel like they care about the community around them.
