When we lived in the area this was always our favourite Chinese restaurant. Having not been for several years, we decided, whist on a short break, to treat ourselves. We were not disappointed, even though we understand it is under new ownership. The food is still excellent, the staff give great service, and in my opinion, still very reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, I particularly, enjoyed the Morecambe Bay shrimp starter. We left fully satisfied, & won`t leave it as long next time, before we return

Just had the best Singapore Vermicelli I've ever had, and I've tasted quite a few. The portion size was perfect for me, as I can't usually eat some of the ridiculously massive portions you might get elsewhere, so I didn't feel that I'd wasted food. The ladies who served couldn't have been more helpful and made my time there a really enjoyable experience. Thank you so much ladies. I'd be back again tomorrow if I wasn't going home. 👍

Ordered 2 crispy salted chicken ,chicken didn’t look over cooked but was very dry even when drenched in ok sauce they also put far too much onion in what’s allready a small box probably to put less chicken in the box, top & bottom of it cooked with zero love ,never again 👍

Not what we're used to when eating in a Chinese restaurant. No hot plate. The meat was tough. The portion size of the rice was not great. The choice of 'background' music was odd for a Chinese restaurant. Not recommended.

I wouldn't go again personally. The starters were well not good .... Mains were very disappointing. Chicken curry was tasteless. Fried rice was barely fried and bland. Friend had fish cakes that were just terrible. Think they were from a packet and overcooked. Noodles were bland. Drinks: well what can I say , how can you possibly go wrong with lime and soda. None of the group drink so we all had soda blackcurrant, with lime et ... we let the lovely waitress know and she apologised and said she would sort. Then a chinese lady came and explained its from a bottle and proceeded to fill our glasses with flat cheap bottled soda! And rationed the lime etc.. This cost £3.40 ! There was a large group of us and I don't want to make opinions on others behalf but I would advise you go somewhere else.

Group of 9 - number of people not the issue. Firstly all the drinks were flat turned out they were like shop bought smart price fizzy drinks Unfortunately it went from bad to worse drinks replaced no better Starters arrived it was like the food was bought from “Iceland” none of it seemed fresh, particularly hot or authentic as the waitresses turned the turn table one of the plates knocked over a glass onto one of the party so got soaked in a white dress! Mains then arrived again seemed like smart price meals reheated so not very good at all. The fish cakes came more than burnt so inedible which were offered to be taken off the bill So definitely wouldn’t recommend

Had a lovely experience here with family for my birthday, the great member of staff was attentive and friendly. Food was beautiful.

use the Honey tree because it is consistently good. sadly not tonight. hub's dish was small, my "sauce" was water consistency, s n p chips managed to be both soggy and dry. definitely not £20 worth of food. bit gutted, maybe just an off night. 😕

My husband and I have ordered from The Honey Tree many times, and normally we have a great experience. Today , however, was the most disgusting experience I have ever had with ANY takeaway... the starter and sides were clearly made hours earlier, left to go cold and then microwaved before sending. The chips were ice cold in the centre with a sweaty/slimy texture, the onion rings had the same texture, curry samosas were gristley, prawn toast was over cooked yet cold and the meat 🤢 so chewy with the nastiest after taste. With the prices they have, they should definitely have much higher quality of food!

Excellent food enjoyed by everyone at the table

Food came in a terrible state. Sweaty and covered in onions. I have ordered previously but will not be ordering again. Maybe the polystyrene cartons the food was served in was the problem as held moisture and made the food soggy. We did not enjoy at all. Shame as used to be nice but have been told by a few people it's gone down hill.

The salt & pepper chips needed fewer onions, felt like it was onions with a side of chips. The wet noodle option, bottom half of the noodles were dry. Fast delivery, was nice but wouldn't be rushing to go back.

ordered 1/2 and 1/2 which they sent with no sauce, rang straight away and they took 40 minutes to send sauce meaning the dish was cold and disgusting to eat.

Our go to Chinese now. To say we get food delivered to bolton le sands - it's on time, every time which is hard to come by with most takeaway in this area. Highly recommend the crispy shredded chilli honey chicken. Looking forward to eating In sometime.

I ordered two items but I only received one. I called the restaurant and was asked to request a refund from just eats.

Some of it was cold , I also got charged £3 for the “free prawn crackers if you spend £20”

Food nice and hot but totally flavorless. Spring rolls nice. Had beef chow main and it was like veg in water, no flavour to it what so ever. First time ordering from here, probably won't again. Very disappointed.

I don’t understand the negative reviews the Honey Tree gets. I’m very fussy about my food so will never give a good review for something less than excellent. We order at least once a month via the Lancaster & Morecambe Eats app. The food is always delivered within the hour (10 miles away!), is hot when it arrives, and tastes great. The portions are generous and have plenty of taste. The Honey have never let us done so we will keep using them.

Bbq ribs no flavour at all, duck was burnt, prawn crackers flavourless, top it off black hair in honey ribs (not mine as my hair is bright red) and delivery staff not delivering to caravan even tho staff WILL allow delivery drivers in. Total let down and not a small food order was £75+

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Greasy food, the crispy chicken was soggy. Food was cold. Chilli beef had 0 flavour. Came an hour late and the sweet & sour source had exploded all over the bag. They couldn’t care less. We binned all chicken dishes and the spring rolls. Really disappointed as we spent an awful lot of money to be told when we called them to return the food and they would give us £10 off out next order! 100% we will not be returning

Came for a weekend away and went for a meal, it’s about 6 o’clock and restaurant was empty, we ordered a takeaway, and it was ready within 5mins of ordering,( too quick), ordered salt and pepper ribs, they was barbecued ribs with salt and pepper veg, main course was cold and tasteless, don’t think I would go there again 🥴 x gutted 😞 waste, most of it went straight in the bin.

Ordered dinner B for 2 and it came with 2 x plain fried rice not 2 x special fried rice as advertised. Ordered salt and pepper spare ribs but basically just a tub of chopped up small pieces of off cuts. Won't be using honey tree again.

Had a delivery last night from Honey Tree - we’ve used them many times in the past and been pleased with our food but last night it was awful! Both mains were seriously lacking in meat, the salt and pepper chips were barely cooked, and what was supposed to be ‘stir fried beansprouts’ was instead limp and soggy beansprouts in some kind of gloopy liquid that made them taste disgusting! No flavour, texture or bite to them and you have the nerve to charge £5.40 for them. If you’re going to charge close to £30 for a meal for 2 people then they’re entitled to think some care and attention will be taken with their food.

Absolutely love this place!! Food is always hot, mega tasty and always early when I order online. Going to the restaurant is even better!! service is 10/10. Staff are always super friendly, it's always very clean and a really welcoming, warm place to eat. I recommend this place if you want super tasty and affordable Chinese food.

Fabulous food, great delivery times even when coming from Morecambe to Lancaster and it’s always appreciated when the wine is so reasonably priced compared to most other takeaways. I will definitely be ordering again.

We stayed at Morcambe for a 3 day break and fancied a Chinese meal for tea ,I had read about The Honey Tree and gave it a go.We walked in and were shown to a table by a bubbly talkative lass and given a menu and drinks order taken.The girl pointed out if we were really hungry they had an all you can eat buffet on that night so we took up the offer.The food was hot and tasty and plenty of it ,we were stuffed when we left.All in all great value, good food,nice people ,try it out ,DON'T BELIEVE ALL THE NEGATIVES

Ate here Saturday 30 the march so glad we booked as very busy in and also for Takeaway. Had to wait for starters quite awhile however was freshly made and hot Main meal arrived in a decent time Value for money a s enjoyed the meal, just be aware u could have a wait

Shocking delivery wait, me and my boyfriend are staying at Pine lake resort and ordered from here at 7:25 it has just arrived 3 hours later after us calling and being told it would be another 45 mins after already waiting an hour and a half and it was even longer then an extra 45 mins, I understand it’s bank holiday but 3 hours is absolutely crazy when it’s only a 15 min drive away !!!

I am appalled with the service I have received, £60.70 worth of order 2 hours late my son who s 11 was so hungry fell asleep before his tea came. I understood that it a bank holiday but this is unacceptable as it is now and our food has just arrived and my son has had notes due to this service its unacceptable and I will have to be starving before using the honey tree again!!!!! its not acceptable for this to keep happening to people who treat themselves to such treats when they can😡😡

The food is lovely. You can’t really fault it. We’ve been quite a lot and generally the service is good depending on the staff. But tonight, the service was really bad. When we were seen too, they were friendly. But being seen to was far and few between. We ended up being there for 2 and a half hours simply because we weren’t being tended to. I could forgive this if it was busy, but it was a Monday night with 2 other small tables in. We’re not impressed with the service tonight, we felt very ignored and like we were a hindrance being there, whilst they chatted behind the bar.

Ordered via JustEat for a delivery. Food came earlier than expected and the delivery lad was polite and courteous. A few months since we last ate here and it was always good but very very disappointed with last nights order. £40+ for two poor quality meals. Beef in black pepper sauce hadnt seen a whiff of pepper sauce at all and the beef was chewier than a fistful of elastic bands. Disappointed.

We had a meal here on Saturday 23rd March 2024, we looked at the menue in the window, we went in and sat down they brought over some prawn crakers and gave use the menue, we eat the crakers while reading the menu and found the menue was much more expensive than the one on the window when we asked the staff about this they said the menue in the windows was for takeaway, We orders our meals both arrived together but my wifes rice was like stodge stuck together and lumpy, she asked the waitress to change it about 10 minutes later she came back saying kitchen had given her another rice but it was exactly the same would she like something else so she ordered noodles which she didn't want but she needed to eat something with her meal, by the time she did get her noodles her meal was cold, and tasteless the food was bland and the service was tenable. When it came time to pay the waitress made a big song and dance about the fact she was not charging use for the rice (that was sent back twice) and that she was not also going to charging us for the noodles (big deal) but still charged us full price for the overly expensive meals that was cold and tasteless by the time we could eat them. Stay away werst Chinese restaurant I have ever been too would not recommend going here.

The restaurant called to ask if they could deliver earlier than requested time. Not a problem at all but.. all the food, bar the ribs, lacked any flavour. Only ate some because the meal cost a lot. Sorry but very poor seasoning and all the dishes didn't taste of anything. Extremely disappointing and most of it ended in the bin.

Very warm costumer servive, the lady was very nice and polite. I ordered takeout and it only took about 5 minutes and the food was delicous. Will be coming again.

Have Ordered here a lot and delivery is always fast. Got Singapore vermicelli a few times and I think they have a new chef or something but it’s ladened with salt. Inedible and went in the bin. I’ve ordered half crispy duck since as I can’t risk ordering another meal and binning it. Please fix your kitchen back to edible food. CHILL with the salt!!!! Thanks

chips were cold and most hard not cooked. we ordered for our autistic child a plain chicken chow mein and we received a special chow mein with all the trimmings. we then had to wait 20 minutes for the right food ruining our family film while having food. The sauce for the wontons was half frozen and thick. we have used honey tree for years definitely won't be using again a waste of 50 quid

honey tree is our fave takeaway food establishment. but on this occasion the food wasn't hot. chicken balls seemed overcooked and the rice was cold. normally food is early but i was really disappointed with the late delivery. i called up and was told to call back if the food was cold when it arrived but i dont want anyone to get into trouble so im just a bit disappointed with the overall order. sorry.

Lied to just eat saying it was delivered, when we called they couldn’t care less, came cold, and was pretty rubbish. Won’t be ordering again!

Gone downhill, won’t be ordering again

They said it was on it's way but didn't arrive until 40min later and only after I complained. We are only about 10min drive away from the restaurant. It was delivered by a young girl in school uniform! The food was cold and had to be heated in the microwave. One sauce was watery an the other short measure. They didn't even refund the delivery charge.

I had to wait for an hour and a half for delivery from time of order and then it was still late which is unusual and disappointing.

Everything about it was average. Quality was OK, but nothing special. I had the special curry with boiled rice, the wife had chicken chop suey. We shared some spare ribs. Portions were small for the price. Service was unremarkable, perhaps the most worrying was how quickly everything was cooked. From entering the premises to paying it was probably 30 minutes. It wasn't that bad I'd advise against trying it, but manage any expectations.

Was told the food would be delivered in up to 1 hour - 1 hour and a half which I thought great they’re being honest for once. After 2 hours I rang and they said the delivery driver had been there for over half an hour. Erm have they heard of a mobile phone and ringing the customer to say they’re there? They didn’t take down the number correctly supposedly. I said I wouldn’t be taking the food as the food was near an hour from cooking to which the lady on the phone said it was still hot. I said I wouldn’t pay more than £10 for the £30 we came to agreement of £15 for the food and the driver magically appeared a minute late and said the food was piping hot. It was wrapped in so much paper it was hard to tell, I unwrapped it and after climbing Mount Everest myself I found the food colder than the peak itself it went straight in the lake for the swans to snack on. Even the swans didn’t want it. Not surprised.

Spent £90 on takeaway. Driver arrived on time but only delivered half the order. Rang the restaurant and they assured us the remaining order would be sent straight out. 10 minutes later rang them again and was told it was only minutes away. 10 minutes later rang them again and while talking had a knock at the door. While all this was going on the food we had been delivered first had gone cold. Little to no sympathy from the restaurant.
