We travel from Totnes to this Gluten Free Cafe several times a week, because I know I'm safe to eat there for my Gluten Free Dietary requirements. Today, a family came in with a toddler, and got upset with the owner for telling the family they couldn't bring their own food in for the toddler. They'd taken out a sandwich for the child, they couldn't understand why the owner said, "sorry you can't bring your food in here it's a Gluten Free Cafe there's a notice in the window stating clearly you can't bring in your own food, we cannot have cross contamination with none gluten free foods here it puts people at risk of reaction". They moaned at the owner and left in a huff. I'd like to thank Mark and all of his staff for providing such a great service and safe foods for gluten-free sufferers like myself, thank you for protecting me today Mark, and shame on that clueless family!

Took my partner for spot of lunch being local residents. Chose this place as its gluten free. My partner had ham and it was cheap thin supermarket type. Microwaved poached eggs which were a let down as they looked and tasted rubbery. Not fresh. Home kitchen suggests home from home fresh food. Chef came out of kitchen coughing to chat to waitresses. Then stepped outside the front of the shop and lit a cigarette. Shock horror! No washing of hands proceeded to cut up cake for dessert. Unbelievable lack of hygiene. Won't return. Our bill was extortionate for quality of food given. No receipt to show prices. Not happy customers.

So after reading many reviews of this place and the difficulty of finding places to eat that supported gluten & dairy free. I had high hopes...maybe too high. Being a local I was hoping this place might become a regular. The good..welcoming friendly staff who are very attentive. Tables clean and sticky free! Good choices available. I had ham egg and chips which tasted fine but for the price poor quality. The bad..2 slices of packet ham. Chunky chips cooked in oil which needs changing as too dark. 2 poached eggs which were possibly judging by the shape microwaved were too firm. As I said it tasted nice but for the price I expected home cooked carved ham and proper yolky poached eggs. My friend had a lasagne which came with few chips and side salad. Again for price could of done with more chips. We had a cup of tea each and 2 pieces of cake for dessert. Nice I had the option of gluten & dairy free cake. Unfortunately where it has been standing in unit. The piece I was given was dry and a slim piece. It would of been nice if the 1st bit was cut off as not really nice to give a customer a dry end? The ugly..went up to pay to be told it was just under £42???. Packet ham. Microwave eggs. A chef with a cough. Poor hygiene no uniform.Small portions. And no receipt given. I now read other reviews who say gluten free cake was £6.50?? Extortionate!..we would not of bought if we new it was that price. Also being called Home Kitchen we expected home cooked foods. Not prepackaged...We enjoyed our food but far from expectations sadly won't return.

I was recommended to go into home kitchen for a gluten free cake, which they did have. I asked for a slice of the chocolate cake which wasn’t priced. I didn’t think to ask the price, I then went to the till at which point the cake was cut and already boxed, it cost me £6.50!!!!! Absolutely disgusting to charge £6.50 for a slice of cake. I should had said no thank you there and then but felt embarrassed to turn around and say no thank you. If this cafe is going to sell a slice of cake at £6.50 they should have it priced. I felt robbed! I will not be going there again.

A lovely atmosphere, great staff and fantastic food. Went twice in two days, firstly for a late breakfast then back the next day for lunch and to collect half a dozen gluten free homemade doughnuts (who knew!). A few doughnuts should have been desert but they all became takeaway items as the chocolate cake looked too good to be missed - it received top marks from the children. The Toblerone cheesecake I had for dessert is genuinely the best cheesecake I've had anywhere, it was remarkable. The only feedback I got on the doughnuts was "How is that gluten free!?" No other words were offered as doughnut consumption became the priority. I suspect we will be returning many times.

Home Kitchen specialises in gluten free food, and does a super job. As a coeliac I have been calling in here for many years when visiting the area. We usually visit late morning for brunch, and it is obvious that there are a number of regular customers, which is always a good sign. The menu offers a wide range of gluten free meals, (including a good selection of varieties of quiche) and a specials board. The gf bread is as good as I have eaten since diagnosed coeliac. My partner on a normal diet) always enjoys her meals here too, so we are both happy.

I'm thinking people who are not impressed with this cafe just don't post. Food took ages to come out, and it wasn't that busy when we went in. I had a jacket potato with tuna mayo, which was more mayo than tuna, and I can't explain how weird the potato was. It was really mushy and not pleasant. This was served in a wide ledged soup bowl, so salad was under the potato and soggy. Also, you can't cut anything on the ledge as bowl flips over. My husband had a sandwich, which was OK but served on a warm plate, so the side salad was wilting and dry. Like another review, we weren't asked if everything was ok. The cafe itself is very cramped. We had to squeeze into a corner (should have left then). All in all, it was disappointing and would not return

We had the toad in the hole, freshly cooked (where on earth do you get that these days!!!), served on piping hot plates with oodles of gravy and fresh mashed spuds and veg....truly deserving of their business name of 'home kitchen'. When we return to Dawlish we will be going back here to sample some more home cooking, not to mention the delightful staff and amazing service with a smile. This cafe was an unexpected pleasure and we will definitely be back. For a start, EVERYTHING is GLUTEN FREE!!! They do have some 'normal' bread for those who want it...but it is the option. They also had at least four VEGAN options in the mains, and a dessert. They can also make their breakfasts (available till 4pm) vegan too (although they are no longer doing 'fake' meat replacement). The service was exceptional‐-friendly, helpful, polite, and they made sure to check if we were coeliac (not the issue for us). We were there for dinner, but they do breakfast and lunch too. The food itself was delicious, with fresh salad and chips to accompany each of our mains options. We each tried something different, but pastry-based ie a a vege tagine pie, a curry vege pasty, and a chickpea & butternut sqash pasty. Next time I'll try the vege tart. The apple crumble was also delicious! I think the pastries were reheated from frozen, but were really tasty and everything else on the plate was fresh. Finding this gem is going to make trips to Dawlish a real pleasure. The mains were between £9-£10, and the lunches were all under £5.

I feel like I'm kicking a puppy. Everyone loves this place so it pains me to give a negative review. The people we went with loved it and the folks in the café were singing their praises. The atmosphere is great with a homey local feel. The service was fast and efficient. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food didn't meet our expectations. We ordered a pie and a pasty. These were taken from a freezer so they do not have a homemade feel. The pie and the pasty were delivered less than ten minutes later so they are speed cooked. The pastry was rubbery and the filling dry. We were not asked how our food was which was a relief because I would have hated to sound negative amongst the happy customers. The salad and chips that came with the food was good but the centrepiece was a let down. The meal with drinks cost over £10. I feel this was overpriced for the quality of food we received. Having said all this our friends couldn't help but talk about how good the food was all afternoon - to each their own.

Please refer to this for future reference: the website for equality and humanrights and its guidance for retailers' legal responsibility towards disabled customers.

Just had the best meal out that I had in ages at court farm. I had the roasted mackerel, New potatoes and salad followed by the white chocolate and brioche bread and butter pudding. I highly recommend court farm. We will be back!

Delightful Sunday lunch - all piping hot and delicious - despite us being a tableful with a mix of carnivore, vegan and vegi! The star of the show was the superb vegan choc tart - with vegan ice cream - best dessert ever - and I’m not even vegan!!!
