Needs gutting out and freshening up....

We went to the quiz night and was a great atmosphere.Didn’t win but had a laugh anyway!Enjoyed some scampi and chips and would go back,as we did all enjoy ourselves.

The staff at the Holburn Bar provided the best possible service for our family party. Throughout the planning process and on the night of the party, they were friendly and helpful in all aspects. They went to great lengths to amend the buffet menu to suit our needs. Amazing quality of food which was appreciated by everyone at the party. The party was a great success but if I would be critical would suggest the DJ could do with better lighting to accompany his work but wasn’t that bad to ruin the party.

Waited over the time for our meals had to ask if meals was coming food was good myself and my guests had to clear our plates and glasses from table as no staff did this as they were too busy chatting in a corner one of them was a boss and didn’t apologise as I approached and told them we have did your job as yous can’t be bothered just got a dirty look in reply holburn bar not the same as before I have worked in the restaurants in the past and customers always comes first today your staff didnt

Great pub. Friendly efficient service. Lots of choice of food. menus for vegans, vegetarians and kids. Always a great atmosphere, value for money and huge choice of drink. There is a pool table, darts, and bandit machines which are at a cordoned off section of the bar. I booked the function room upstairs for a birthday with 80 guests. The venue provided a vegan/ vegetarian hot and cold buffet that was enjoyed by everyone. The chef and manager liasied with us and pulled out all the stops to ensure that our requests were answered. The chef created a tasty, exciting vegan/veggie buffet, which many would have found difficult to do. Great value for money, central location, and parking. The dj was also organised alongside room at a very competitive price. The staff were very helpful and professional. Brogan and Travis (I think) were fantastic at the event. Thank you for helping make my birthday so memorable. Well deserved 5 stars 🌟

Food was lovely,good value. Only gripe was the wait,half an hour for starters and an hour after we ordered for mains,only 2 of us and it wasn't that busy.

If you want a good time in the bar, avoid Wednesdays. The staff was rude, refused orders for food due to slow service (at the bar), snarky and ill mannered. Every other day we have been it's great service, lovely and welcoming.

Good for watching the football and relaxing

Had the three tacos thing , The squid wasn’t cooked ? The chicken wings , were harder than a stone , like they where left over from an earlier meal ? Absolutely terrible? And the least we say about the pulled pork tacos? The better !!! My partner had steak pie , which was maybe passable.

Just had delicious lunch in Holburn Bar. Food was great value and delicious. Bar man was so friendly and yet professional. Really nice guy. Great atmosphere we will definitely come back! Highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Food is always great, the staff are all absolutely lovely and always go the extra mile to make sure we are happy! We come here at least once a week and it's our favourite food spot!

We booked online for festive fayre, we paid £35 (£5 a head) some of the party worked Christmas Day so we were looking forward to a dinner. Only on arrival we were unwelcome, and told we hadn’t booked & the only booking was 7, finally after some discussion we figured those 7 was ours, no festive fayre menu was to be had & I was to have booked 2 weeks ago & to order off the normal menu. When getting the normal menu they didn’t hand fish, Mac & cheese & were simply told to order something else? On ordering steak pie we were merely disappointed with luke warm food. We will not be back.

We were here today for Christmas Day meal, food can’t fault was lovely and nicely presented. Only thing stopping 5 review is part of the deal included tea/coffee and mince pies. After our desert we asked for tea, after 40 min wait we decided to just leave it pay our drinks and head off home. Staff deserve praise on the day they worked their socks off just not enough staff as they were operating table service only so as it got busier they struggled to keep up with. We only had two drinks each during the meal would have probably had more. I would come back again for Christmas Day just hope next time more staff on duty.

The service at this place was among the worst I have ever experienced. From the quality of the food to the attitude of the staff, it was an absolute disaster. My family and I chose this venue for our Christmas day celebration, considering that the food needed to be pre-ordered months in advance for them to ensure they had enough for the everyone's orders. However, upon arrival, we were informed that they had lost our reservation. We were escorted to our table, only to be told that they had run out of sea bass due to multiple lost reservations and subsequent changes in orders. Despite one person at our table pre-ordering sea bass as their main dish, it was no longer available. We waited about 30 minutes before someone took our drink orders and another 10-15 minutes before the drinks were served. An hour later, our starters arrived, but they were freezing cold and instead of the advertised bread rolls, we received brown bread. It took another hour for our main courses to be served, which were disappointingly cold, dry, and clearly not freshly prepared. The person who originally wanted sea bass ended up ordering steak, but the steak was incredibly tough and nearly inedible. We complained about the quality of the food and were refunded only £50 out of the £250 we had already paid. Despite this, we decided to stay for dessert since we had already paid. However, after waiting an additional hour, only four out of the five desserts arrived, and all three chocolate brownies were missing the sauce. At that point, we decided we had endured enough and left. The complete incompetence and lack of organization at this establishment were astonishing. I strongly advise against wasting your money and time, at this shockingly disappointing place.

Excellent service in a very busy facility. Staff very attentive and not overbearing. Liked that dogs were allowed in also.

Was at The Holburn Bar last night for Xmas meal with my husband and three friends. The food was very good and the service was excellent, no complaints here. Great value for money.

Absolutely terrible food. Gad mixed grill, everything was so overcooked it was rock hard. Steak pie was virtually unedible. Cook should be sacked having to cheek to put this rubbish out to customers

Was hungry so i came with my son to eat Something but was very disappointed burnt burnt meat and not very good at all i come to eat here sometime. But today was not good at all .

Nice place to have a break with your friends. You watch futbol and a have s nice drink with your colleagues.

We waited almost 40 minutes for our food, when it came my gammon steak was luke warm, as was my egg and pineapple, chips were not that warm either, my daughters fish was luke warm as well. I was offered another meal but i was hungry and had already waited 40 minutes, bar was not busy and not much people eating. i did get a free pudding for the inconvenience, it was quite expensive for what it was, i dont know why the long wait for food. Staff was friendly and apologetic. Wouldnt go back in a hurry for food but i would for drinks.

Such a shame that this pub has gone down hill a lot over the last 6 months to a year. Our local pub that we go to often and were always really pleased with quality, price and the service. However, recently the food has had long wait times, there is never the food in stock that we would like to order, it is me very expensive with smaller portions and less quality but the service as always is fab and all staff are lovely. We where also in this evening and the place was empty and every tele had the YouTuber boxing matches on and not the rugby World Cup and staff refusing to put it on even just one tele in the place we knew this was advertised from above it’s like tying the staffs hands and it’s not their fault it’s more of a deep rooted problem in greens king. over all just massively disappointed and will be looking for a new local.

Gone down hill very badly ... Massive shame.. empty glasses and plates left for over an hour whilst the staff chatted.. only about 20 customers in.. no one waiting at bar etc so no reason for it ... Shame it's being allowed to go downhill like this .. EDIT, have tried to leave another review since but for some reason it won't let me , just wanted to state have been back twice since and things have improved , good to see :)

I was up in Aberdeen for work this week and decided to pop into the Holburn for a drink. The team were so lovely and welcoming, especially Sophie and James who made me feel right at home. The regulars were really welcoming too. I go home tomorrow but I come back next week and I can't wait to come into the Holburn.

Met friends for lunch after the monthly witches market

Always a great experience. Lovely staff who are always up for a chat and a laugh. Wendy is a super star as well as Sophie. Good range of drinks and decent food.

I had a wonderful time in the Holborn bar the food was lovely but what made of the experience the best was the friendly, welcoming and well conducted staff on the bar. Would highly recommend anyone live in Aberdeen, or visitor for the weekend.

Arrived early for a Scotland game and easily got a table and had a great night. Got a meal in which was well priced and then the drinks kept flowing to the table via the app. Slight delay with the drinks arriving but the bar was absolutely heaving so this is understandable. Great atmosphere for the game and the TVs make sure you’ve got a great view no matter where you are.

Waited over an hour for food that was cold when it arrived. Wings were inedible and ordered a cider which turned out to be a larger! Bar man looked at us like we were lying until he tried it himself. We ordered using the app and no one bothered to inform us they had just one chef on until I went to enquire where my food was. If I had known I'd have eaten elsewhere. Will not be ordering food here again. If you can't provide a service maybe stop taking orders!?

We were here for a party, staff very friendly and nice atmosphere. However, food was not so great. I had Macaroni and chips and it was luke warm, didn’t really enjoy it. Drinks were reasonably priced. One of our party had quite a wait for his fish and chips. I would go back for a drink but not dinner.

Come here regularly and always a good atmosphere. Fee pool with any bought item off the menu on Tuesdays and great quiz nights. Lovely wee pub, regulars would agree and would recommend for a tourist that wants somewhere to pop in for a pint

Was in the function room for a 21st birthday, staff were friendly and attentive. Toilets was the only let down. No lights working in the gents, and only one door could be locked in the ladies.

We were actually in the Duthie Suite I think it was called, for a Northern Soul night and had a great time. Drink prices were random for the same drinks and from the same barmaid which was very strange. Saw the response to my initial review but my comment about random prices, for the same drinks, from the same barmaid, appears to have been completely ignored.

Had a great lunch this afternoon. A nice atmosphere and really friendly, attentive staff. We got to bring the dog in as well and he had something from the doggy menu!

What a hovel!! The food was warm at best. Multiple items were not on the menu. Music was so loud we couldn't hear each other speak (Sunday afternoon). The toilets were an absolute disgrace!!!

The front of staff house were lovely. However, the place was severely understaffed. We waited over 40 minutes for our food to be delivered despite the venue being quiet and it seemed like very few people were ordering food. 2 kitchen staff also went outside for a 5 or so minute break even though our food was yet to come. Prioritising would be super beneficial to this place. The poor girl behind the bar was doing a great job but was clearly under a lot of pressure to deal with the guests ordering drinks and no one around to help her.

me and my friend ordered food and it came in 15 minutes or so and was edible atleast but my other friend ordered food at 40 minutes have passed and nothing? but you still see all the kitchen staff going for breaks. after food was asked for it was given. Ridiculois

Unplanned visit but I'm so glad a local family member recommended it. Clean and tidy, friendly helpful staff and delicious food. I 100% recommend the Hunters Chicken. Omg - the bbq sauce is devine 😁. We will definitely be back next time we are visiting our Aberdeen relatives. 👍👍

Great well run, friendly team of staff , spotlessly clean bar, good drinks/lager selection , the bacon, egg avocado crumpets with hollandaise sauce from the new breakfast/brunch menu is a winner !

Friendly staff. The ladies toilets were beyond disgusting. Three cubicles blocked off and the most abominable smell, which was apparent from a distance. Can only hope the kitchen area is not the same.

Went to a baby shower hosted in the function room, the decoration looked amazing and the staff was absolutely incredible! Will definitely be back :)

Lovely food at great prices but very very slow service

Poor management… took my payment then charged me the next day for not paying my tab. Then when I called to ask this to be reversed I was told it was nothing to do with them and to contact my bank. I then spoke to the manager Louise on the phone who basically told me she can’t do anything and to deal with it myself with my bank. Thankfully a few days later I got the email my bank did in fact require from the merchant thanks to Sophie and zero thanks to Louise you told me to deal with it and hung up on me…

Busy, bustling pub with live sports. Places to charge tech in the booth. Wee screens in the booths too. Decent outdoor space.

Was at the Thursday night quiz night. Had a relaxing evening.

Kids breakfast and magic show was brilliant and only £4 my kids had a great time, great value for money- nice to do something for the kids that doesn’t cost a fortune and the breakfast was very tasty

Really nice atmosphere and staff are friendly, food good and service is super however one of our party was the designated driver and there was no choice of alcohol free wines or cider and only a choice of 2 lager type beers one of which...

Had not been here before and we were pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff and freshly cooked food at reasonable prices. Everything you need for a good pub lunch.

Had dinner and drinks with Water Polo team, all meals tasted great as always and drinks were great. Bar staff were very nice as always.

We hosted a fundraising ceilidh upstairs in the function suite. The facilities were great, sound system and lights were quality and staff were pleasant as always. Would recommend.

Only one person on the bar dealing with a lot of customers for food and drink, the food was good but a lot of mistakes were made not sure we will return.

Hired out the function room today for a baby shower- staff are great got in 2 hours before to set up buffet tasted amazing and wow so much food I’ve booked another function there Definately recommend

Came in for a few drinks and a couple of small plates - the chicken strips with korean barbecue sauce are you die for! Service was nice and quick even if pub seemed really busy for the Scotland Rugby game - thankfully we had booked...
