Had Sunday luch there at weekend food was amazing landlord and landlady really pleasant ppl girl behind bar allway pleasant and polite they even cas n Bradford game on..

The HogsHead is a modern two roomed pub. There is a nice bar with a pool table. There is a good choice of draught drinks, including two cask conditioned real ales, which were in excellent condition when i visited. The staff are very friendly and dogs are welcome.

Sausages were delicious. I’m not 11 I don’t need my mash served from an ice cream scoop. Please for the love of god season & butter your veg it’s so bland!!! And lastly the 3cm high gravy jug come on we’re Northern we love gravy!! Love this place it’s so welcoming & friendly. Don’t be fancy Nancy just serve good seasoned food.

Lovely Sunday roast here today. Very serene with a roaring fire and snow ❄️ outside. Always love the cosy decor inside, they have it spot on. Lovely chatting to the owners and staff. The food is stunning and the attention to detail is top. The beef was proper tender and so was the pork. Excellent value 👍

Bueno, eso fue nuestra pre Navidad antes de nuestro almuerzo de Navidad en casa hoy en The HogsHead - Huntington. Mi esposa y yo somos locales y acabamos de tener una de las mejores comidas de comida de pub antes de Navidad desde hace mucho tiempo! Gracias a Danielle & Ray y a todo el personal por cuidarnos y al resto de comensales de hoy que eligieron llenarse la cara con un plato de comida deliciosa. Ahora sirven comida de jueves a domingo, así que echa un vistazo al menú en su página de facebook. Nos abriremos camino a través del resto del menú cuando llegue el Año Nuevo. Gracias.

Reservamos una mesa de 5 hace unas semanas para la 1 pm. Llegamos a tiempo y explicamos que solo iban a ser 4 personas. La señora detrás de la barra señaló dónde estaba nuestra mesa. Nos sentamos, no estaba muy claro si íbamos a pedir en el bar o si tomaron el pedido en la mesa. Esperamos unos 5 minutos y fui a preguntar. Te dije que lo pidieras en el bar así lo hicimos. Las opciones eran carne de res o cerdo. Pagué poco más de £ 36 por 2 cenas y una pinta. Otras familias eligieron cerdo, una Pepsi y un café. El café tardó unos 15 minutos en llegar. Y más de 40 minutos pasaron y todavía no hay comida! Finalmente llegaron y se ve muy elegante, pero los peores pudines de Yorkshire que he visto en mi vida. Todos eran totalmente planos. Incluso le pregunté si era un pudín de Yorkshire y él dijo que sí, que hoy están un poco planos. La comida estaba caliente, la carne estaba deliciosa, pero el resto de la comida no sabía a nada. Realmente decepcionante por el costo. Quizás sea porque todo es nuevo.

Cracking little communitiy pub and a great atmosphere the only thing letting it down is the price of a pint.

The couple that own the pub made me feel extremely welcome. Let me bring my cat in with me and helped me charge my phone and made us both comfortable. They also helped me sort food(which they didn't serve at the time) and feeding my cat treats. Local customers also engaged with me and made me feel welcomed Really lovely pub.

Awesome spot. We arrived in our camper and were able to park out the back. Very friendly staff. It also happened to be a pub quiz night, which we were able to join due to a cancellation. Great fun with good beers and friendly people. Thanks from team Ozzy Ozzy!

Absolutely cracking place! Spent 2 nights in campervan, greeted by owner who is so friendly and helpful. Can walk into York (or just get an Uber 😂) Loved it and definitely will be back xx

Great place to stop over with a motorhome, short bus or cycle ride into the city, they don't serve food but there are cafes close by, landlord, landlady and staff very welcoming, will definitely go again.

Nos alojamos aquí en mi autocaravana. Gratis si usas el pub. Fantástico pub con gran propietario y la casera Danielle & Ray. Ruta de autobús fácil a York para hacer turismo y luego noches divertidas bebiendo en el pub. Mesa de billar, jardín de cerveza y personal amable. Sin duda bebería aquí de nuevo si en la zona.

Fantastic friendly place highly recommended.Been there several times in the last six months staff amazing and go out their way to make you very welcome. Its a dog friendly place which is great .The entertainment is varied depending on days ranging from pub quizzes right through to quality bands. The hosts,danielle and ray are fab cant wait to visit again.

Great place for an overnight stay in our Motorhome. Called ahead as the parking does fill up. Free parking, but all is asked is to have a drink or two. No food at the moment, but it will be soon...... recommended.

Amazing place. Staff are amazing very helpful and polite. Nothing is too much trouble. Love the beers plenty to pick from. Catch a bus right outside to go into York centre. Music and quiz nights are not to be missed. Perfect place.

Happy New Year indeed!! Stopping over for the night in a campervan and honestly, Ray and Danielle could not have made us more welcome!! We walked in and were offered a new year’s hug and a glass of Prosecco! I’m never going to turn down either!! Lovely couple and lovely locals. We will make a point of coming back whenever we can. Just as well I’m not local or I’d be in here every day!! 🥰

Great place but didn't get to have food though.

What an absolute gem! We stayed over the weekend in our motor home. Free to stay, as long as you have a drink in the pub. Booking is required ahead as gets full quickly. Dog friendly. No food as of yet, but that’s in the pipeline. Ray, Debbie, Lloyd & the rest of the family were warm, welcoming and so friendly. We were welcomed in on the Friday night & instantly felt like friends. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We Will be back!

Lovely staff and a lovely place

Stayed over for two nights at the time of the Christmas markets, a lovely flat car park and great atmosphere when we went into the pub. The quiz night on the Thursday is not to be missed.

Lovely free stop over in our Campervan, close to the town. Bus outside that takes you straight into town. Very welcoming of our last minute booking. They don’t do food but the pub is really lovely, thank you!

T'riffic pub stopover for Motorhome owners

A welcoming local community pub! Just moved to area and popped in for a quick pint, splendid! Best of the rest by a street, will make an effort to come round at night! Proper bar and lounge areas, definitely worth a look!

Just spent two nights in our motorhome in car park landlord could not have been more helpful even charged our battery after having alternator problem clean toilets and pub very friendly easy access to city centre by bus many thanks will return

My daughter had her baby gender reveal here we were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in! Lovely atmosphere and great owners and staff! Thankyou all so much .

My favourite pub to visit, hidden gem garden is a sun trap! Service was brilliant, good atmosphere and even better prices. Always has things on for the customers like quizzes, live entertainment etc ☺️ If u haven’t been I would highly recommend!

Refused to serve people in the queue. People rolled in 10mins after and were instantly served. Horrible staff with a horrible attitude. This is in response to the reply. York players came in 5-10minutes after a lot of us and were instantly served. I spoke up on multiple occasions and was ignored!

Stayed overnight in our camper van on the carpark. Friends came to meet us for a catch-up. The quiz is on alternate Thursdays, and we were lucky enough to be there the right week. Great beer and atmosphere and the staff didn't mind us ordering and eating a takeaway as they don't do food atm.

A great pub I visit often, not personally tried the food but I've heard only good things, great staff all round, live performers some nights, always a nice atmosphere, would highly recommend!

We did a one night stop over here in July 23 and it was perfect fine! The pub didn’t serve food but we knew this before we booked to stop. Pub was clean and tidy nice bar area. Parked our motorhome in the car park and had a few drinks in the pub, there was no charge from the landlord, who was perfectly amicable. Great bus route right outside the pub, into York No 5 drops you off right outside the main gate near the theatre. 2 mins walk right into the Shambles. Just the ticket for a trip to see the city.

Used to be a great pub with great people running it until new landlords took over. Homophobic people. Accuse people of stuff they haven’t done. Just not very nice avoid at all costs

We're stopping here in our Campervan.Currently, the pub has no kitchen(being refurbed) but the 'Take-away across the road has an arrangement &you can eat their food in the pub(winning all round) Live music at week ends, 2 real ales, the usual Fizzy stuff, handy for the LNER Stadium for York City matches, for away fans..Excellent pub.

Stayed here weekend of the 18/19 Jan 23 my family and I went in our motorhome Nice quiet big carpark and bus stop into York right outside.The pub at the present is not serving food but you are handed a menu for local takeaway pizza etc and it is delivered to your table.The staff and locals are all very pleasant would defo recommend 👍

Stopped over night in our motorhome. Good sized flat carpark. Ray and Danielle were excellent hosts, friendly and welcoming. Open fire and friendly locals. Landlord bitter was great, highly recommend.

Nice and quiet when I went in with a few friends from work 3pm ish. Friendly bar staff and good lager kept it's frothy head all the way down the glass. I had the Coors and they had the Madri Spanish lager said it was very good. Be trying that one next time.

Stayed for two nights in a motorhome, felt very safe and was a nice quiet nights sleep. Car park level with plenty of room. Locals like a good chat. All staff really nice and we're great with the dog. Treats on the bar for the dog and behind the bar for us! Will definitely return for more good times.

Stayed for 2 nights in camper van and had a few drinks from the pub as not doing food just yet! We felt so welcome, locals were polite and friendly. Will deffo be back when we next visit York

I think I'm to old for this place. I felt like a beer and it was possibly the last evening to sit outside this year. I watched the youngsters playing the sausage game. I wouldn't have believed it if you had told me. Seeing these girls squatting down made me feel very old and uncomfortable. Good beer though and pleasant hardworking staff.

Very much depends who is running this pub, but currently (and hopefully long term) is Aaron who is doing a great job! Lots of initiatives such as quiz nights, live music and (in the future) food going on. Not an ale pub as such but usually Atlantic and Guinness, and it's always a good pint! Lots of good rums too! Personally I prefer the lounge (right as you go in) or staying outside...other side (bar) is fine, but a bit loud. Good place to stop if you have a caravan too, 45 minute walk from York centre and right next to a bus stop. Well worth popping in!

Best of all we have a motorhome and we stayed on carpark with full permission free just had a social drink in this very welcoming pub ....again and a bus stop outside to York Town centre .win win 🏆
