Food is not good and to much waiting and service is not good 😡

Bad Service There's Insect found on top of their Pizza. Really Disappointed 😡😡😡😡😡😡 . Never gonna buy Again There's No photo option available otherwise I can send the photo . Not recommended

Ok place to go car park is a mess and if there is a party you got no chance of space ordered thatchers cider and it was off i told the bar woman it's off quickly got something else was better. Food was nice hot fresh and the lamb was Ace would go back for food but not drink.

Every curry here is banging esp the keema and goat curry The mix grills are phenomenal, the chicken tikka has a taste that most desi pubs can't churn out and the fish pakorad batters and spice are unmatched They also do fabulous pizza and have great overall friendly service It's a safe pub to be in open modern and spacious Thanks Deepu!

Hi i odar 2-3 time very bad taste food

Got some food via uber eats after seeing so many good reviews. Ordered chicken biriyani, paratha and chana batura. Paratha and chana batura was average. But the Biriyani was disgusting. It had a foul smell while opening. The biriyani was outdated food. I believe they sent us yesterday’s food. Tasted some of it and got food poisoning. Complained to Uber eats and nothing has changed. Disgusting food 👎🏻

Tried first time here . Did not like the taste of the dhall dish not sure if the yogurt was off . But was not to my liking . The rice however was fine and roti . But the dhall dish spoiled my food Due to this won't order myself again here . Sorry

Great authentic Indian food cooked like home. The service was quick and good served fresh and hot. Went here for a party, good atmosphere all round. Parking limited.

Clean, Generous portions tasty spicy and affordable food.

First time I ordered through from Uber eat it was good, this time I ordered over phone, went to collect food, she say 20 min on phone, when I went there again I waited 15min. I ordered Desi Bakra, lots of oil ( really half oil half curry) . I will never go again. Not recommend.

I dont like to write this as i have always backed this pub restaurant,but lately the the service from the kitchen is shocking,over the last few weeks i have waited 1 hour each time for a food takeaway,and the bloke in the kitchen with the beard has such a bad attitude its shocking,they used to be the best pub in the area for curries but sorry not anymore,the whole kitchen needs sorted out as they dont care,when this pub such amazing great food service but not anymore,sorry lads but it needs to be said,as alot of lads in there have said the same,no problem in the bar area service was fine as always.

I discovered this place on uber eats and ordered a couple of takeaways. The mixed grill was great but the curries were very average both times. I then visited in person to enjoy the grill freshly prepared. It was as good as I'd expected and the service was superb too, really friendly staff doing a great job. I feel really bad for not giving it the full five stars because they got so many things absolutely spot on, but I can't do it because of those curries. I would say it definitely deserves it's title of being a hidden gem though.

Good food but place needs a urgent revamp especially toilet area

Tried gajar halwa for the first time with this place this weekend. I didn't expect it to look so red and like a paste though. I've looked at pictures on Google it looks more orange and sometimes cake-like or you can see the shredded carrots and there's nuts in the dessert or it's like there's added milk and I learned it can be eaten with ice cream.. Either way this one, though tasty (once chilled overnight in fridge) had a strong "greasy" flavour and smell that could be mistaken for near stale tinned milk.. 🤔 but I think it's the ghee they use? 2nd order of gajar halwa the flavours were strange, like they used bad carrots or something.. very disappointing because it was delicious first time I tried same thing only 2 days ago I purchased from this place. I will have to look at other places to try their gajar halwa.. 🥕 🥕 Still I think they are good cooks. Some places can be hit or miss especially when they have such a big menu but these people seem consistent with some things I've bought from them which I've recommended below. I can't comment on the atmosphere because I've only ever had delivery from just eat and uber eats but I would recommend this place for my fellow vegetarians and it's fast delivery and good portions, always arrives hot!

Went there for the second time. Very bad experience. I told the chef that yogurt is off, there was no apology or explanation and brushed me off. Never again. Very disappointed 😒

Ordered of Uber eats for my family wich is a very rare occasion spent around £50 wich I have had to save to be able to treat the family missing 3 curry’s chips and drinks was only delivered 1 curry and rice with a cheese naan called the restraint they basically said all the food was in the bag packed along with drinks and it must be the driver that’s taken them out contacted Uber eats and there response was we can’t offer u a refund but take my feedback on board don’t waste your money because the food that actually arrived tasted gritty was freezing cold and absolutely tasteless !!!

Just orders my second order from Hockley Brook. I was sceptical to order due to the first time I order which was when they opened up. I think it was due to getting the flavours together. Tgus time around the food was top class. It was very flavoured to the point. The curries had a classic Indian Tarka taste which blended in with soya dishes. We ordered Shahi Paneer, Veg Lamb Curry, Veg Chicken curry and Chilli paneer. These were enjoyed by all the family. I would recommend to all who would like to enjoy a taste of Punjab. ***The masala chips and chilli chips wasnt up to my taste. They can be improved.** Keep up the good work, I will definitely be ordering again. I should have added some pictures but was too busy enjoying the food.

Absolutely fantastic! I held an annual work do here and my staff and I enjoyed everything about here! Food was great (and big portions), atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and accommodating - a family setting feeling! Great work guys, keep it up and we’ll be back for some more food! 😍

Great decor and daily Indian buffet, more of an atmosphere in the evening than daytime. Be warned, mostly bhangra music vibes and cricket on TV! 🙄

OMG.. after a long time I have true taste of Punjab, I ordered Chole Bhature, Desi Bakra and Shahi paneer, butter naan, everything was amazing and freshly made, I tried many Indian restaurants for Chole Bhaturei but didn’t get true taste of Punjab, the great thing about this restaurant is freshly made Bhautrei, thats just WOW, its a must try dish, I am pregnant and I have been craving for Chole Bhature for more than a month, I was missing punjab, but this restaurant made my day, I literally enjoy every bite of Bhaturei and Onion Salad dipped in tamarind chutney was amazing, I don’t have much words to explain how I am feeling after having true taste of Punjab, I can only say Thank you Hockley Brook Bar & Restaurant

The place has good Indian food. The bar was quite full, felt like i was in a Pub in India. Majority of the people watching football in the bar & having a great time were Indian. The Restaurant is a separate area than the Bar, that's a plus. If you are going only to have dinner, then it makes absolute sense. The Indian grill is amazing, best combination available. Would suggest to have it here, got it delivered home once, wasn't the best after all the time for delivery. Tried butter chicken, that's proper authentic butter chicken like the one you will find in Delhi. So, it's a 5 star 🌟

I was there celebrating with a few friends, the atmosphere wasn't the best! The service was even worse, whereby people were having to wait in excess of an hr? The staff were following hygiene procedures in the kitchen either!

We visited the Hockley Brook yesterday and it’s the first time visiting since it was refurbished and renamed. They’ve done a really good job. The staff work hard and are always friendly and helpful and the food is really good. Don’t expect 5* table service because it’s a relaxed and homely place and you go up to the counter to order. My husband and I are quite critical of food and have high standards and their mixed grill platter is excellent. Highly recommended.

The worst takeaway I've ever had seriously! The naan, butter chicken, rice, everything was so bad, absolutely awful!

Food took ages and were overcharged on one of the pizzas. Nice wall though.

Come here at your peril. From the outset the experience was a disgrace. The Pizza took over an hour to come. The place charged 99p for a 300ml can but 2.59 for a 150 ml bottle. Many of us were seriously overcharged for our pizza. They still made me pay for my pizza despite the 1 and a half hour wait. To cap it off, we were given pizza in a box with an Irish flag on it. The wall was very nice though.

*UPDATED JUNE 2022* After the refurb, this is a hidden gem of pubs In Birmingham. Looks nice inside. They could utilise the space in their restaurant better by putting booths around the sides and then tables in the middle. Food is amazing. Not oily or greasy. Their grill is levels above other places. Has to be in the too 3 pubs in Birmingham!! Great selection of whiskey to! Great atmosphere. Served till late Have a pool table and jukebox.

Brilliant service and staff couldn't do enough for us...the food omg is delicious...the paneer meal that I had...I ate 4 plates of it....I'd definitely recommend as this is the second party that I have attended and the service I cannot fault...the server's make sure you are looked after and have everything you need...

Very good family run business. Good food, service and entertainment. Clean grills unlike many other pubs who use too much food colouring. For all meat eaters, try the Veg grill. It is 10/10

Always love coming to this place for food. Food is hot, fresh and unbelievably tasty. This is our favourite place for an Indian takeaway. I'm a serial meat eater but even I go head over heels for the shahi paneer and it is always my go to curry when I am ordering from here. That is a staple meal that must not be missed. Lovely seating and a very spacious restaurant with huge TV screens for entertainment.

I would never eat here again after experiencing a fly cooked into my fish pakora. I was nearly sick to discover I could have eaten this. It is absolutely disgusting. I called the restaurant fuming and someone came out and inspected it and gave me my money back. Its not even a small fly it is HUGE. (Not that this excuses it). Unclean, and unhygienic. Check everything you eat before It goes into your mouth or better yet stay well clear.

Odered over the phone, was told it will be ready in 20 mins but after travelling all the way to there we were told they don't even have ingredients to make the dish. What a utter waste of time.

Despite the unusual setting in a mainly residential area of Soho road. This venue is ideal for large family gatherings, wedding receptions, birthday parties etc. It can even cater for live music event also.

It was spacious and host was keen to deliver a good service. Everything was ready. Only letdown was there was no aircon and the fans didn't do the job given the warm summer we had.

Very nice and comfortable venue for events. Seating capacity in the main hall is 250. 3 well presented halls with bars. Car parking available, mot a large capicity though.
