Solo fuimos a tomar una copa antes de ver las magníficas iluminaciones en Bisham. Nos dieron una cálida bienvenida y disfrutamos de nuestra corta visita

A great stop at the end of the Illuminations to have lovely food.

The staff ,the decor,the food,the price was the norm,even the wife loved it.

Really struggle to understand why a pub that serves food stops taking orders at 6.40pm on a Saturday afternoon/evening while the illuminations are not a great advert for Blackpool or Thwaites

Tan amables son los habituales antiescoceses diciéndole a mi señorita en voz alta que es de Escocia que desearían que se fueran

We had a very enjoyable evening. We originally went in for a couple of drinks, and we ended up playing bingo and entering a quiz night. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We would recommend anyone to pop in for a drink. Thank you, Highlands, for a fab night.

A nice comfy pub near the promenade but unfortunately the food was terrible, it was such cheap products used. My food was extremely greasy, I complained but nothing was said and left basically all my food and still paid for it!! Never again, avoid the food of going there . Very Disappointed 😔

Good busy pub in handy location near the Bispham Tram stop. Good beer and very reasonable prices. Live sports. Nice outdoor area. Dog friendly with restrictions hence 4 stars.

The women working the 2 was great i think one runs it very polite child friendly lovely views from the beer garden . Will defo be going back . They also do food which from what i saw looks lovely . Never eaten here but ill definitly be doing so in the near future .

Came with family for a spontaneous trip out. Heard alot of good things about the highlands. Friendly staff, greated when we arrived and was shown to a table. Very clean and tidy. Food was brilliant served quick and hot. Girl with long black hair behind the bar was very friendly and very professional on serving food, will recommend to anyone. We cant wait to come back thank you

Awful 😖 food not cooked dosent even deserve 1 star.i was told not the best but thought we would try.nobody asked if the food was OK probably sat 30mins or more with it in front of us .

Drinks prices were OK and nice atmosphere

Location and drinks are fine but food was really bad, can taste it’s been cooked with fish and other items within the pan. Disappointed because usually it’s okay Chicken wings cooked with fish, overwhelming fishy taste with chicken wings. 36 pounds overall dreadful

2 nights in room 3 for the airshow. Pleasant arrival. Slight disappointment no longer have breakfast available other than from noon when pub opens. Room clean and fresh and #3 is sea view. Not sure about bathroom light as we used the small one on the wall as nothing else. The staff are great, work really hard and very thoughtful.

Food wasn't very good, it wasn't fresh and microwaved too long.

A great place of respite away from the the youths on electric motorcycles on the esplanade. The prices excellent, the staff efficient and friendly, the sea view fantastic. That is unless you are upset by the view of youths on motorcycles, or upset that you can't afford to buy an electric motorcycle and have to wait for the tram yet again

Only called for a drink, sunny day so sat outside, friendly efficient staff, nice & clean, nice outside seating area, will visit again

Been a few times went on Tues 2 July 2024 ordered 3 meals sausage mash mash was hard pasta was not cooked and chicken wrap was rock hard waiting nearly a hour for food was not impressed not one person came to say sorry

Proper drinkers pub. Clean and tidy, good selection of drinks Inc guest ales/ciders.

We went here to watch the England game and had a.meal thanks to staff squeezing us in. We had sat at a table by the tele as hubby partially sighted and they let us eat their,so thank u for that. We ordered food and omg it was gorgeous well cooked well.presented could it eat again. My husband said it was the best pub meal he has ever had. The beer was lovely so thank u very much to yourselves. Staff were excellent polite attentive and efficient.

Absolutely rubbish. From the moment we made our order, and almost an hour to get our food at the table, the experience was dreadful. We went to the bar and placed our order with the gentleman who wrote it in his little book. He turned around to type the order from the book into the POS system and was going make the charge, when we reminded him we need to order drinks too, before giving me the bill. The food eventually came for three or the four-member party. He gave the meat lasagna to a vegetarian and the veggie lasagna to the meat eater. I'd ordered a chicken skewer starter and a curry main course. The curry came first, but as we were still waiting for the final plates for the child in our party, I just ate the curry, expecting the starter to arrive later. We told him the horrible mistake with the lasagna's which we found out was the last veggie lasagna, so he told us they'd make another veggie pasta dish instead. At this point we asked where the four other small dishes were and apparently, he explained the chef had 'lost his head'. A further wait for the correction and two of the missing dishes, and again I had to ask where my starter was and the child's chicken tenders. The tenders came and he said after almost an hour he hadn't ordered the skewers at all, and I didn't order them. We did see him write it down as it was my first request. Maybe I should always request a receipt to check in the future. Overall, the service was appalling, and the food was simply rubbish. Not recommended at all.

Started visiting Blackpool quite regularly and this is my go to bar. Friendly staff, nice clean surroundings and a magnificent sea view. I can't really pick any faults with it. Highly recommended

Went in with 2 children to watch the England game. We didn’t know it was quiz night until the quiz master announced it and said anyone under 18 should ‘f**k off. We finished our drinks and left!

Beautiful food & stunning location

This is part of the Daniel Thwaite brand that have all gone through a refurbishment. This is a great space to ha ng your hat if walking from Queens Prom to Bispham. After being caught in the rain, this was the perfect spot to spy with envy at the Sunday Roast. Here, and The Gynn are the best of this brewery to enjoy in this northern town. Bar staff are lovely.

Came in to watch man city v West ham, final game of the season, biggest game of the season to then be told they would only play sound for Liverpool v wolves because they had 'lots of calls' about the liverpool game. Only 2 people were watching liverpool game, very disappointed.

What a great pub’! We’ve recently moved to the area and tonight was our first visit. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. Excellent and friendly crew, great food and an excellent point. Topped off with watching the sun set over the Irish Sea. Superb! Thank you.

Taking a battering from Storm Kathleen today but everything ok in here. Got to say the Thwaites Berners-Lee American Amber was on fantastic form and a pleasure to drink whilst watching the 🏏 on the TV. Both bus and tram stops outside so easily accessible up and down the prom 👍🏻

Great seafront pub on Bispham, Lancashire promenade. Thwaites real ales available. Great pub for both locals and holidaymakers alike.

Never been highlands before but today went with my daughter and grandchildren , I’ve got to say we had a great experience , the staff were brilliant , the food was great especially what I had the steak pie , but the rest was delicious as well , thanks so much we will return definitely 5 star to me

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, our lovely server was Rachel, and she was amazing 👏 nothing was too much trouble, attention to detail, and attentive. We have never eaten here before, but we will definitely be back.

We had an amazing family Christmas meal here on boxing day. Table of 13 and every 3 course was amazing. The staff are so welcoming and they definitely made it a memorable meal. You all did amazing!!!! The food was definitely a 10 out of 10. Proper homemade food 😋😁 We will be back!!!!

Stopped off for a couple of pre meal drinks and to watch the match. Decent enough pub, some friendly customers who made conversation, plenty of drink options at good prices and a lively atmosphere.

Went in as it was recommended as dog friendly. We were planning on getting food and drinks, the bar had signs that it was closing from 6pm for a private function which was fine, we went in and the atmosphere seemed great had a good buzz to it but when we asked bar staff if they had a free seat for food and drinks he just stared at us and said it’s just what’s there. We would have stayed for a drink and then went elsewhere but the staff member just seemed off with us (maybe he doesn’t like the Scottish haha!) so we went elsewhere 👍🏻

We didn't stay here but visited for drinks and food. Service from staff was excellent and nothing too much trouble. Food we had was piping hot and quality was good. Drinks were reasonably priced for Blackpool. Would return if in Blackpool again.

Lovely friendly and respectful watering station for a lady travelling solo. (ha ha) What a great place to wait for the illuminations to come on. Staff and local guests made it a very comfortable resting spot. Thank you so much x

We live locally so called in for a drink and meal only. Food was excellent so much so that we went back on the following Sunday for their roast dinner. Staff were friendly and the Sunday roast was top notch

Today we had mums wake at the Highlands and couldnt fault anything The staff were brilliant in all ways! Leigh and Sophie looked after us perfectly The food was great and I can only apologise for not knowing the chefs name but her lemon meringue was WOW! After staff changeover we were still looked after brilliantly and thank everyone there for making a sad occasion so good 👍

Just spend 3 nights in Bishpum Blackpool . You have friendly staff , and they remembered our drinks . Thank you for making our short stay great . We will definitely return , we went out for dinner and had a couple of night caps before we went back to our apartment. Great selection of drinks and toilets were clean . Some likely lads but they were well behaved and made us feel welcome 😊 . If you ever come to stafford check us out. Lol Dee and Terry from The Bird in Hand x

Don't bother calling in for food - first the kitchen is open, then it's not, then it's open, then it's not. Beer is nice, pub is a whole lot better than the rest of Blackpool, but if you want food, try somewhere else.

Not a successful visit. Having sat down and made ourselves comfortable, viewing the menus placed on all the tables. At the bar, at quarter to eight evening time, we were told the kitchens were now closed. No food. We had been looking forward to eating here... Can I politely request if the food is no longer being served simply remove the menus from the tables. Disappointing.

The only reason it's a 4 and not a 5 is it was just a visit in a brief time scale, so I can't assess the rooms. However, I enjoyed my time in the drinking area of the place and will visit again next time in Blackpool.

Not been in the Highlands for a long time. I had heard that it had recently been revamped. Well I was pleasantly surprised, the Highlands has a warm cosy welcoming atmosphere. Would deffo recommend

Went to the highlands for the first time today, amazing food well priced, service was lovely by the lady who served us, I think she was called Karen. Lovely pub 100% will visit again

Good choice of real ales at great prices. Very good beer as well. Sat outside in the sun on the new benches. Fantastic seating area overlooking the Irish Sea. Ordered food from the lite bites and main menu. Great value for the money. Delicious food and the portion sizes did not disappoint. The staff are friendly and quick to serve at the bar and outside. We will be back very soon as we’ve just moved to the area and are trying to find a regular place to eat.

Our first visit since the refurb. We visited Blackpool for three nights and went in the Highlands on all three days, good beer and food, with friendly staff, would recommend to friends.

Having frequented The Highlands for many months we had been anxiously awaiting it's reopening following a MAJOR renovation. On entering: WOW! The Highlands now looks amazing with an incredibly tasteful colour scheme, furnishings, all new seating, tables, well, EVERYTHING looked stylish and upmarket! We were so impressed as we sat down and took in our new plush surroundings. As it was a Sunday we decided to order the Lamb roast dinner and mushrooms in stilton sauce for starters. We soon wished we hadn't. The diced mushrooms (2 each at most) arrived in a ramekin. We both looked at the tiny dish in disbelief. Surely some accompanying crusty bread would have helped bolster such a measly portion? Then things got worse. The main course arrived. It was well presented but, again, the portions were miniscule. Especially the farcical slither of lamb! Surely someone was taking the p*ss? Anyway, after taking a photo of my plate (if only to confirm my eyes weren't deceiving me) I began eating and discovered the food was barely warm. And then things got worse. Yes, even worse. The waitress approached and asked if everything was ok. I responded with a "No" and shook my head. Unbelievably, she just turned and walked away without saying a word! I'm not one to cause a scene but this was not on. I stopped her and asked why she had ignored my complaint and hadn't enquired what the problem was. She looked like a deer caught in headlights and clearly had received no training on how to deal with such a situation. I decided not to cause the young girl further distress and paid for our "snacks". Suffice it to say, we will not be returning to our once beloved Highlands. Yes, the pub was a bit dog eared but the food was first class. And that's what matters.

Popped in to rehydrate Toby our 9 month old labrador and me, what a very friendly pub both staff and customers. Will definitely be back for another bowl full.

We went to the highlands last night for a get together there was 17 of us and wow what great service we had from the first phone call everyone was so polite and helpful we all ordered food and they said it might take a while due to being 17 meals to prepare at the same time we’ll it wasn’t too long and everyone commented how good it was and very reasonable the bar staff and waiting on staff were lovely looks like this is our go to venue for future catch ups

Visited to have a drink and watch the sport on TV. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm Welcome and Good beer, A very friendly, dog friendly, well run pub.

Shocking! Staff abysmal....flies in the room we stayed in.....if you want a shamless reunion go there. Absolutely vile.
