Fabulous food and atmosphere. It’s not a trip to the seaside without having some fish and chips. Excellent service also from Debbie. Nothing was too much trouble for her.

Second visit at this restaurant and we love it!! We were assisted by Steven today, great welcome and great service. Thank you very much . Live Blackpool

The fish was off, tasted strange thought it was the tartare sauce. Unfortunately I was ill from it. The manager refused to come apologise and the staff knocked the fish off the bill. Worth being sick and losing a day's wage though thankyou for removing the fish off the receipt. This place needs a health inspection pronto.

I didn’t get to eat! I drove from southport to see if it was as good as I remembered but experienced indifferent service, unwelcoming facilities, locked out while they sorted the opening sequence out and The take away opening half hour after sit down diners! Will not be bothering again.

I visited with my family on Thursday 17th April. The experience was so bad and exposed some real issues in the working environment especially from the duty management. I reached out direct to Harry Ramsdens as per their standard response to poor reviews. I have heard nothing back from them. So... Staff were not proactive. I waved a waiter to come over...he did so and didn't have anything to take our order on. He returns with a pad, he had no energy or passion. Clearly wanted to be anywhere but there. Drinks order arrived with the wrong beers, this waiter (not who took the order) said well the ticket said this...no apology, no let me check. I wasn't going to get into an argument so let that issue slide. By the time we had waited 30-35 minutes I asked a 3rd waiter who was stood by the pass how long the order would be. He asked the kitchen...which had only 1 person working in it! This waiter and the chef were the only people working hard.(There were at least 20 customers in, 5 waiters and a manager.) They said 5 mins, I explained it would need to be otherwise we'd need to leave. When we arrived at 6.15pm after the tower circus no one mentioned there was going to be a long wait or delays. The team were not properly in control of the service. After just over 5 minutes he comes over and says they've got no beans for the kids meals. They had plenty of time to realise or even go to the shop to sort it. I asked to see the manager which he did. The manager decides not to speak to me and goes to the other end of the table. Her attitude was awful. I said we were leaving, we'd waiter so long and now they can't even make what was ordered. She said. "Well I was going to give a discount anyway". So because she could give a discount they didn't care about giving good service. She was not apologetic nor did she take responsibility. Observing the room throughout our wait I noticed tables left with dirty glasses for a long time, problems with orders on each table. Staff effectively hiding. At one point the manager walks through the restaurant with a contractor carrying a sign, she dismisses a table that asks her for something...she returned later saying "What do you want?" She still didn't notice the sanitiser bottle and cloth left on the banquette! No care, no attention to detail. We left hungry, disappointed and upset...this should have been a lovely end to a family outing something 3 generations could have enjoyed. We were there just under an hour in total. We had given ourselves enough time before trains etc. Just as we were leaving the food was starting to come out the kitchen if we had stayed the meal would have been rushed and the experience was already ruined by the managers poor attitude. The positive reviews over the past few days make me think she either wasn't working or these aren't genuine reviews given there are so many poor reviews recently.

I had high expectations of this restaurant, after my last visit many years ago. The only positive comment i can make is our waitress was attentive. Basic fish, chips and peas took more than 45 minutes be brought to our table by this time we had paid for our drinks as we were about to leave, staff members blamed the delay on the new cook? We had the meal as a means of appology but we hardly ate it because was dried up.. Shame really but how hard can it be to cook fish and chips. The restaurant was certainly not 1/2 full.

We used to visit the original restaurant many years ago when it was a little way along the Prom. Back then it really was superb and a treat but now it’s no different than fish & chips in your local pub chain. The chips were cold and the fish mainly hard batter. The staff however were friendly.

Sadly, this will be my last visit to Harry Ramsdens. I lived in Blackpool for years and this was my go to for quality fish and chips. But not any more. Firstly, cost. Its expensive, which is fine if you get good service and excellent food. I had a regular haddock and thought I got the kids size, 2 bites and it was gone! I asked if they brought the wrong size but no it was the regular for 15.99. Tasted ok, nothing special. Now my Father went for the over 60s special for 11.99 where you get fish, chips, mushy peas and a drink and pudding. OMG! The fish was the size of a fish finger. My Dad was gutted and had to eat something else a few hours later. Overall, ok tasting food, poor service, got the order wrong, waited ages in an almost empty restaurant. Staff standing around stretching but not doing much except the older blonde lady who was running around all over and was friendly. The review is based on food, size and lack of value for money and the other staff. We wont be back, having been there for many years. Sorry but no! I ran a restaurant for years and an 8oz regular fish is always a certain size and to give a pensioner a fingers worth of fish is terrible. I just wish I had taken pictures to prove this review.

Harry Ramsdens is always our go to whenever we visit Blackpool. Always great food with friendly staff. Steven on this occasion was very friendly & prompt. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Went for the afternoon tea which we received as a Xmas gift. Really disappointed. We got the smallest fish on the smallest bun that wouldn’t fill a child. The rest was worse, battered gherkins!!! One battered sausage to share, onion rings, some sort of fritter? ? Mushy pea? Not sure! and a few chips! Staff were lovely as is the restaurant, just think for £30 there could have been more fish! Who even eats battered gherkins 🤢

It was the worse fish and chips I have ever had. Definitely all pre cooked and kept warm....I needed to saw through the batter to reveal dry tasteless fish....utterly awful. They did apologise and knocked a little from the bill. We'll judge this one on our feet...and walk on by.....

Lovely atmosphere, vibes were perfect. Staff were attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Debbie was a legend and made sure we were happy throughout our time here. Will be back again for sure!!

Visited here with my partner on a day trip to Blackpool - we had tickets for a show at Winter Gardens and thought the 'classic' fish and chips by the seaside would make for a good evening. Table we were seated at was sticky, like it hadn't been cleaned in about 5 years. Restaurant had other patrons but not absolutely rammed busy by any means and there appeared to be plenty of staff on (although they looked very stressed so I can't imagine how they would cope if it was actually busy). We waited 35 minutes for food at which point I asked the waitress to chase it up, as I did so another couple said they had been waiting for 50 minutes and had decided to leave so we did the same, just paid for our drinks. I asked the waitress if there was a reason for the delay as we had only ordered fish and chips and...it's Harry Ramsden's...that's their main dish. She had the audacity to say 'everybody arrived at once' as I looked around at a half empty restaurant. Also everyone that arrived after us was told the restaurant was closed even though 1) it clearly wasn't and 2) this was about 6:30pm and the closing time online and at the front door say close is 8pm. Did not appreciate being lied to my face. So...we left hungry, would not return and would not recommend, terrible really considering the history of Harry Ramsden's.

Was here for afternoon tea, and it took over 2 hrs wouldn't come back. The food is average at best.

Just left disappointed still been generous with my rating the atmosphere is good and the staff are good but my table was sticky so much so that my cup was sticking to the table felt really dirty Portion size was not great for a regular fish and Wendy’s the point in the paper in your plate almost impossible to cut your food without ripping and then having to detach it from your food Tbe food was good but probably would not return

Impromptu trip away for a few nights with the family, we decided to treat ourselves to some 'posh' fish & chips rather than those you see on the sea front. Although the food was very tasty, the batter was crispy and was not greasy at all. The only downfall to the meal was that the chips were just say warm, borderline cold.

Waited quite a while for order to be taken then waited another 15 mins just for drinks. Food arrived. Both had reg haddock, chips and peas. Fish was lovely. Chips were awful, dry, cardboard like. Shame as it was £15.99 each. Servers were very polite and friendly.

Our waiter Stevens service was excellent but when we arrived we were shown by a female member of staff to a draughty table right by the door and she didn’t return to take our order, so we moved ourselves to another table where Steven served us. Good meal but poor initial experience.

We chose here for lunch on a Saturday expecting the quintessential fish & chip experience. When it finally arrived after a 25min wait the food was excellent and sort of made up for the slow service. It wasn't particularly busy and there were plenty of staff on. It was just not very well organised. Maybe that was because we were out of sight of the main restaurant in the conservatory (nice sea view though). One gripe was the teapots that just don't pour without spilling and served with a coffee cup. They need branded crockery! Great Club 60+ menu for seniors -£12 for a 2 course meal with drink.

Wife and friend called in yesterday, over an hour wait, cold chips and so called large fish needed a search party, left the food, awful service and food,over hyped and definitely over priced, one to avoid

Slow to come over, slow to ask for drinks and food. The server didn’t know what was on menu either. Very slow to serve food. Plenty of staff but you had to chase everytime you wanted something including to bring the food over. Had to speak to one of the managers about the service. Far for ideal especially with hungry children. It wasn’t like this on previous visit.

Awful experience. Waitress was new on shift and made mistake after mistake meaning that one person in our party never recieved their meal! This is shocking! The new member of staff should have been shadowed, ensuring no/limited mistakes were made. I spoke to the staff explaining we needed to go as we had a booking to attend and to make sure the bill reflected our experience. We were shocked to have been charged what we did……we had an awful experience and they still charged us! We will never ever return. Awful awful experience. I’ve never been to a restaurant for a family meal and someone in the party not be served food! Clearly there was no manager on shift, or an incompetent manager at that - a good manager would ensure customers were never treated in this way! Additionally the restaurant stinks of bad drains.

Waitress very friendly but service from the kitchen super super slow. Had to ask someone to take our order. Took over half an hour to get food. Table next to us sat down after us and got theirs first. Was lovely when it finally arrived. No we vinegar left in bottle either. Small portion was really big.

Lovely experience with reasonable prices. Waiter let it down a bit by forgetting part of the order but on the whole I would go again.

It was quiet when we went in so nice and peaceful my sister is a vegetarian and the menu didn’t have the standard v next to much also she had concerns about meaty stuff being cooked next to veggie stuff the server Steven was excellent the chef didn’t get his name came over was informative and reassured my sister that her veggie pie mash and veg would not be cross contaminated it was so good of them excellent would recommend the fish was delicious

We had a red letter day and used this at Blackpool Harry Ramsdens under Blackpool Tower, we were gifted afternoon and went with the flow, have to say the combination of food wasn’t really for us - The service however was some of the best we have received and we eat out a lot, it was quiet but the level of service was exceptional and genuine which isn’t the norm these days ! Special mention to Kerry & Katie….lol - Only joking I’m sure there names were Nicole & Katie - I’d employ either of these 2 in a breath, Harry’s is lucky to have them Would go again, but definitely wouldn’t have the Afternoon Tea, can’t really complain though as we didn’t pay other than for the extras we had

First time we went here, there was no sticky tofee pudding. So second time we made sure there’s toffee pudding before we dine in, luckily it’s available. Husband ordered fish&chips (Haddock) and kid’s bites for my son. I had a latte and the sticky toffee pud, which I hoped came sooner since this was all I was having. Steven came up to us (he wasnt the one who took our order) but asked if everythings alright, I just said yeah but I was waiting for puds since forever. He went straight and made sure I’ll have it. Excellent eye for service.

We had a lovely meal with the share plate with a taste of everything. We had a great view and friendly service with Nicole who looked after us beautifully.

After are order was cancelled by a member of staff ,Debbie sorted everything out for us as our lunch was delayed by a long time.She explained everything throughly that she would get it too us as quickly as possible and we wouldn't have to pay as it was down to staff. As it was my daughters birthday I just wanted everything OK for her . The food when we did get it was excellent. Debbie's friendliness and manner was exceptional. A credit to your company.

Had the senior two courses. My partner had plaice and chips. Never ever again. The food was absolutely disgusting. The plaice well don't know know they cooked it but it was tasteless and full of fat. The chips were enabled.

Me and my partner had a lovely afternoon tea for 2 today at Blackpool and it was delicious. Would thoroughly recommend.

We received exceptional service from Debbie. She was really friendly, helpful and professional. We visited with our grandson and Debbie made a point of chatting to him and brought him paper and crayons to entertain him. Debbie you were amazing, thank you.

Had the over 60s meal everything was lovely debbie the waitress was polite and respectful. And couldn't do enough for us.

Really great service from Debbie. It was fairly quiet, so everything came quickly. Afternoon tea was fab, especially the fishcakes and fish sandwiches. Drinks included. Deep fried everything for dessert - probably a bit much after all the fried food really. An old school pudding might have been better, or a sorbet!

You need to update your opening times, as the staff turned away a party at 1845 who had a confirmed booking for 1900. Your website says 2000 but apparently there's a note on the door sating 1900. Also your proudly displayed wifi password is incorrect!

I recently went out for a meal with my family, we were left 20 minutes without service whilst tables around us were being seated and served before us, then we were not notified of the fact that they had run out of fish until we were finally served, most of the menu is fish related items so that heavily limited us on options and on top of that they had ran out of some sides and on the official Harry Ramsdens website on a Saturday it states that it is open until 9pm, however it closed at 8pm so we didn’t have time for dessert. The chips were good.

Was a lovely meal. The gravy in particular was divine - could have done with a little more though 😂 the staff were very polite and friendly.

The waitress who served us Kasia was so lovely. She welcomed us and made us so welcome. It was a quiet lunch time at Ramsdens but she made it an enjoyable meal. The fish and chips tea was very saturated in fat but the banana fritters course was much less oily and the batter for all courses was very light. If the main course wasn't so oily it would have been better but also the fish in the burger was not great quality considering how easy it is to get good fish these days. Chips were nice. The home made fish cakes had good flavour but we're heavy on potato. This was a very cheap deal and it showed. I have to repeat though that Kasia was a great waitress. We really enjoyed our time there.
