Harry Ramsden's in Blackpool

Monday 30th December, 14:15 Blackpool. The restaurant was quiet/empty. I visited the Blackpool restaurant, as we entered, there was 2 families waiting to be seated, within a minute of waiting, 1 family in front left the restaurant. We waited for 10 minutes, and no server came to the front of the shop to greet anyone. The family in front ended up going over to one of the staff members who came straight over with menus and sat them down. They never even looked at us waiting behind them. Or apologised about the wait. Or confirmed someone would be with us soon. We waited a further 5 minutes before we ended up doing the same, I asked the server straight away for a email to direct my complaint to, as the customer service was awful, she said they were short staffed, I tried to explain (on 3 different occasions) that they should still greet customers and let them know that they have been acknowledged while waiting, instead of ignoring all customers who walk through the doors. Her reply each time was that some customers are angry, and not as nice as me. She gave us amazing service once we were actually seated. But by then it’s too late. It was a very disappointing experience. We only stayed as my dad was looking forward to it all morning. I can imagine you lost a lot of customers that day.

Great, food is a little pricey but worth it.

Restaurant was very busy and there was a long wait for food but Kasia was really helpful and friendly. She found us a table as soon as possible and kept us updated on our order. She was very attentive with all the tables and was genuinely concerned that we were kept informed. Thank you Kadia.

Lovely food. Jadwiga was a great server and really looked after us. Just quite a wait time, had to wait 30/40 minutes and the restaurant wasn’t that busy. But food was worth it!!

Food was pretty good but the experience was awful. Despite the restaurant being pretty empty it was a 30 minute wait - clearly not enough kitchen staff in despite it being a Sunday - but worse than that was the waiter. He seemed to think we could read his mind because when ordering he just stood there waiting for us to speak, maybe he was just worried about losing his chewing gum that he was chewing constantly with his mouth open - not very hygienic. We also saw him grabbing chips with his ungloved hand before serving other tables - thankfully not ours. Very poor individual. My glass also has watermarks on it so not the most thorough cleaning clearly.

Sunday teatime, skeleton staff long wait for food and drinks both served incorrectly. Staff unhelpful , undertrained, service non existant. Second visit in a row with significant issues. Will not be using this "Premium" brand resaurant again.

We had a lovely meal, we arrived 2 hrs before planning to eat to ask about reserving a table. Jadwiga met us and advised about the beat way to get a table. We came back when she advised and were directed straight to a table. We ordered our food with her and she advised a 30 mins wait on food. It didn't take 30 mins and when it arrived it was fantastic and our 2 boys who haven't been to a Harry Ramsdens before loved their meals. It was overall a great food experience

We do like eating here when we visit Blackpool. It is a bit of a luxury, the food is good but expensive, and small portions for the price.

Don’t do it They got order wrong Food was not hot Took forever to come Premium price Me and my daughter have finished our food by the time my wife food has come out. They said my wife’s meal is free for the mistake Never again Have fish and chips by the sea that said be nice they said.

When we arrived to the restaurant we had great expectations , we had just left a show and looked forward to a nice meal for afters . We wondered why everyone in the restaurant had left the coats on ,it's cause it was cold inside. The meals arrived , two were correct two were wrong. Was asked for no bread , bread arrived. In the menu it said all fish and chips come with tartar sauce and mushy peas. Neither f and chips had tartar sauce , one came with peas , we had asked for gravy and it didn't arrive. My battered fish was battered behind belief , crispy but more like it had been left under the cooking light for to long. We ate the food and paid the 72 quid bill but left disappointed. NR winter gardens they have much higher quality meals at a fraction of the cost.

Jadwiga was pleasant friendly she serviced us and took our order the service was spot very clean also the toilet very clean .

Absolute rip off, way overpriced Food was good but prices need looking at

We came to Blackpool for the day on 14/12/24 and thought we’d give HR’s a go on the evening. We used the takeaway/ sit in at the side of the building. We sat at the tables provided. We went for the £12 deal of Fish & Chips, mushy peas and a drink. We were not disappointed. The fish (haddock) was cooked to perfection with lovely dark coloured batter and the chips were golden and great texture. Good mushy peas and a nice cup of Yorkshire Tea. Slight wait for the food but worth waiting for. I’d definitely return and recommend to anyone visiting!

Went to blackpool for the day with my 2 brothers and my dad. Rachael our waiter was so polite. Even asked if we was doing anything nice after our meals and had a nice smile. Thankyou Rachel for making our day even better. Great waiter and excellent service. Food was fast and absolutely delicious. Will 100 percent be coming again.

We came in for lunch with my little girl and had a lovely experience. Our server Debbie was amazing, we visit regularly and always find Debbie so helpful and attentive

No trip to Blackpool is complete without a trip to Harry's for a chippy tea before heading to the station set for home. Always enjoy Blackpool Harry Ramsdens...the young lady who served today in the take away side was lovely...very friendly and down to earth..(i hate fake smiles and service)....fish n Chips were gorgeous and we left with smiles!..Back soon :)

Came for the afternoon tea and the food was of good quality but would recommend a couple of changes to the menu. The battered pickle would be better swapped for something else such as more chips. The other items on the afternoon tea savoury section were very good. The banana fritters were great so would be better swapper for something else such as cheesecake. The service was excellent, Debbie looked after us and nothing was too much trouble.

Debbie was a lovely and friendly waitress and made the experience delightful.

Went here last week ordered 4 small fish and chips 2 regular fish and chips 4 with curry sauce and peas. Had 5 regular cokes and 1 J20. Came in at a cost of £121.99. Service was great and can’t be faulted at all. Highly recommend the curry sauce from here best I’ve had from anywhere. The downside I find is the portion size 2 of us had regular portion sizes and our Cod was smaller than the small portion size. I raised this with staff and she told me it was a thicker portion I can assure you it wasn’t none of the 2 regular size cod was bigger or thicker than the small portion. My recommendation would be if you want a decent size piece of fish and there’s a good few of you go further up the road as the fish and chips is just as good and better portion sizes for your money for us we would of saved about £50 if we would of done this but thought we’d try something different. Overall opinion , staff are great food is ok but portions are small tastes just the same as the one down the road for what you pay. Curry sauce absolutely lovely. Would I go here again I’m sorry but I’d have to say NO.

We booked an afternoon tea nearly a year ago to use and it was so worth it and such a surprise to find out we had a drink and pudding included, we where served by the lovely Chanel, an asset to the company, polite and friendly and greeted us each time with a smile you really should promote her, cheers Nigel and Mickey x

I was gifted an afternoon tea and it was fabulous. The atmosphere wasn't bad just a bit empty but the music was good. Out waitress Chanel was brilliant too.

They said its would be about 40 mins for food. But was quicker as there was only 2 of us.

Had the Club 60+ menu. Great value, great food and great service from Jadwiga. Would recommend.

Delicious haddock supper, as expected, in clean, well presented surrounds, and efficient, friendly service from the team. The frickles are frickin' great too.

Joel was a good bloke, had a good rapport with him, excellent service from him and he was just the perfect waiter. The food was excellent, much better than Seniors all day long.

Afternoon tea was great, and very very filling. It might not look much, but with desserts and drinks, we were stuffed. Debbie looked after us impeccably, and we were amazed at the lovely interior. Try it, surprise yourself. Vegan sausages also available, so perfect treat.

No one in here to be honest food was medioka bland mash very stodgy too much salt in gravy and coffee was lacking flavour and taste cheap coffee beans pie was okay mushy peas dry

Absolutely loved it here, what a beautiful restaurant, loves the atmosphere and decor, especially the beautiful booths we were sat in. Our server jadwiga was brilliant, friendly, thorough and attentive. Memorised our order and kept checking back on us. Food was amazing we had the haddock and chips and it was beautiful, also had gravy, curry sauce and bread and butter. It's a little more expensive than alot of the cheaper fish and chips shops in Blackpool but so worth it for the amazing atmosphere. Would 100% come back and also try other things on the menu (so much choice)

My daughter and I visited Harry Ramsden’s in Blackpool for an afternoon Prosecco tea on Saturday, and we couldn’t be more impressed! The food was delicious, with generous portions, and beautifully presented. Our experience was made even more memorable by our wonderful waitress, Debbie. Before seating us, she kindly pointed out where the toilets were, which was especially thoughtful as I use a walking stick. She was attentive, polite, and engaging, making us feel like we were her only customers, even though she was clearly very busy. Throughout our visit, she checked in to ensure everything was perfect and that we had everything we needed. Her exceptional service truly elevated our experience, and we can’t praise her enough. If all of your staff are as efficient and friendly as she was, you certainly have some of the best employees in the business. She is undoubtedly a great ambassador for your restaurant. Overpriced with awful service and poor food.

Had a afternoon tea here which we order on buyagift, it was the best afternoon tea we had ever hand definitely didn't need tea later on lol. Customer service was brilliant as well

very poor service we were left waiting to be greeted and shown to our table it was not even busy we then waited over 40 MINUTES for the food to arrive . How you can call this a fast food restaurant i don't know. The only good thing was the fish and chips

Food was OK nothing special, from entering and being seated it was about an hour before receiving our food I think we may have been forgotten the staff did apologise and offer a free drink but we turned this down, if the meal had not been prepaid as a gift card we would have left and gone elsewhere.

Waiting 20 minutes to be seated in a venue with 3 tables seated, only to be taken to a seat and have a menu thrown at me. Then half hour of dirty looks while not being served food or drinks by anyone before I had enough and then got called a lier and a nasty man by the racist Polish woman who was giving me the dirty looks. Making me leave crying over how they treated a vulnerable disabled man wanting to eat on his own! So I can't rate the food I didn't get, I can only rate the dirty room and the dirty attitudes from the staff and you try call and they don't answer the phones when you wsnt to log a complaint, so I'm absolutely ecstatic that I recorded the interaction with the woman so it's shared on social media. All because I'm alone I somehow deserve to be treated this way by what I van only see as racist staff! Absolutely disgusting

Lovely food lovely atmosphere friendly staff

Very much enjoyed our meal at Harry Ramsdens. Food was great, service was really fantastic, and as one of our party has a food intolerance, our server Joel took the time to explain about how the food was prepared to ensure they made the right choice. Will definitely will come again when we're next in Blackpool.

Went today to experience Harry Ramsdens famous fish and chips. Inside there was a queue but it wasn't busy. One customer at front of queue walked out. Waited patiently. No one front of house. No one knew what they were doing. Eventually a young lady chaperoned people in the queue to table but emphasising 4p minute wait for food. Eventually food came out. Chips looked dry and fish was OK. Staff looked demoralised and no headship..Food was poor.

We had Afternoon Tea - it was exceptional, excellent taste and quality and so much food. Delicious. Our waitress, Debbie, was very polite, friendly and attentive. We had been bought the afternoon tea as a gift and would never have even thought of it ourselves but will do it again.

Called in for lunch yesterday here while out for the day. Food and service was very good, freshly cooked fish&chips piping hot, the inside is under reconstruction at present so some areas cordoned off that's the only reason for 4*for atmosphere. Not to busy but enough people in to be spaced out accordingly. Will definitely return if we're back In Blackpool again

Went in thinking this was suppose to be the 'worlds best fish and chips' shop, only to be let down. Went in and ordered for my family of 4. Firstly we couldn't get in as there was a step and we had 2 pushchairs. There was a menu on the door stating veggie sausages, however was told they never sell them. We wanted to eat in and after ordering all the food, was told we couldn't eat in and had to take all the food to go, whilst pushing two pushchairs. The girl who served us seemed miserable. The least she could of done, was tell us it was closing time. The food was very greasy and the onion rings tasted like old fish. Very disappointed in the whole experience .

It's a really great place with a nice atmosphere! However, we did have a bit of a problem after the food. Overall, we had ok time there and would consider coming back.

I went here for fish and chips afternoon tea and was very impressed. It was amazing food and was above my expectations. We were served by Debbie and she was fantastic. She made us feel really welcomed and was very friendly. She attended to everything we needed with a smile and positive attitude. Outstanding service by Debbie and amazing food. Joel was very good at accommodating us. Found us somewhere spacious & quiet for our autistic children. Good service & friendly. First night in Blackpool & it was a nice restaurant to find something to eat.

Expensive for the quality. £15 for a small fish and chips that definitely wasn't worth raving about. Service left a lot to be desired despite it being quiet.

Got here at 5.30 its now 6.42 still no food no staff no communication and the tea pot came with no lid!! I will write another review if I ever get the food

Staff made allowances to accommodate our family, made arrangements to come back in an hour so they could seat our family with a dog. Family of 5 and a service dog Sat in a separate area Food was delicious and portions were of a good size. Kids reduction price being half term was a great help for our holiday Sight wait in service as expected as restaurant was busy.

Went in for lunch today service was poor food was awful to the point I'm leaving my food and going somewhere else to eat no cod bites for the kids or burgers and chips and fish was cold and curry sauce was like water

We had the fish & chips afternoon tea for my daughter’s birthday celebration & it was really tasty. She throughly enjoyed it & the icing on the cake was our lovely waitress Debbie she was Amazing, so friendly & helpful - nothing was too much trouble! We definitely will come back soon!

I really enjoyed my trip here. Been to many Harry Ramsdens over the years, but have to say service was exceptional. Did have to wait about 30 minutes for food. But food was delicious. Especially the tartar sauce, didn't rate the chips though, waiter made up for it though, so gave him a 20 percent tip. Bill was 39.95, and gave the waiter 50 pound to keep the change, he seemed extremely shocked and grateful. About time other people recognise decent service and rip accordingly in my view as it is an extremely difficult job to do and poorly paid, credit to your staff for making it such a memorable experience. Will definitely be back when I next come to blackpool
