Good atmosphere, busy on a Saturday night, singer was on.

Lovely comfortable place to eat and drink. Very welcoming and friendly.

Lovely little dog friendly pub. Had some lunch which was yummy and reasonably priced. Did take quite a while for food to come out, and the pub was quiet for a Saturday afternoon. Will be back.

Having recently moved to Hednesford we found this pub by accident today so glad we did what we found the bar staff couldn't do enough for us friendly food was excellent couldn't finish it as the portions were big a fantastic warm friendly experience will be going back for Sunday lunch this Sunday great place highly recommend it

Great atmosphere and great little pub!!

The bar staff were excellent. Quick service from all involved. Food came within 30 minutes and was cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend.

Went down this weekend for some dinner and the live music with the family. Atmosphere was great lots of smiles all the staff were attentive and friendly. Food was great and reasonably priced, couldn't ask for more.

Only went to watch Euros, good real ale, tad expensive.

Pop in for drinks and the food was excellent well done to sian the manageress and Rob in the kitchen

I have been visiting this venue for many years on and off. Me and my friends went last Friday for a couple of drinks and ended up staying most of the night. What a friendly atmosphere, great entertainment, disco and karaoke, but the staff made us feel so welcome and a big thank you to Sian, couldn't have been looked after any better 😀. Personally, had the best night out in ages and can't wait to visit again💯✔️👍

No chef no food at all, not impressed to say the least. Parking also very limited god knows what it's like when you can eat. Review as of 2pm 8 march.

The Hen House needs to be rename the The Noise Box. There is a boom boom noise from the so call music going until about 10:30pm reading between 43 - 65 dB when I've check , the door leading to the upstairs rooms slams with a bang didn't get chance to sleep for the two nights I've stop over happy to be home straight to bed.

Amazing atmosphere, amazing food, amazing entertainment and amazing staff very friendly

Nice clean comfortable pub, good selection of beers, and good food; had fish & chips which was a good sized portion and served hot on a warm plate. Friendly helpful staff, stayed all afternoon with some old mates, we all enjoyed it.

Booked a table of 7 for the festive meal. Wow no other words can describe the amazing food that was served. Portion sizes where massive & absolutely delicious. The staff went above & beyond for us especially the manager he was so proffessional & friendly. The singer was very good adding a great touch to our Christmas meal. Thank u to all the staff

Fantastic time there. Didn't know it was still open. Fab place.

Waited 20mins at the bar to have our order taken because one barmaid started and then walked away and the other thought we were being served while the first was actually serving others the other side of the bar. Waited another 45 for food to arrive. The portion sizes were small. The pie was barely bigger than a pukka pie. It looked and tasted like it had been bought in rather than the hand made looking one on their website. The fish was ok. The only one who actually enjoyed their meal had the hunters chicken. The place was busy and lots of people were drinking, so if you're looking for a drinking pub it's probably a good choice, but don't go for food. I stopped for a Macdonald's on the way home because of the portion sizes.

Walked in and walked straight out. No separate seating area for those who booked for lunch so had to sit with children amongst a rowdy a crowd swearing and vaping inside. Swiftly went elsewhere.

I visited with my wife on a Thursday afternoon for my birthday. The staff greeted us and were really friendly and helpful. We sat outside and they brought our drinks to us. We ordered a light lunch, good price and it was very fresh and tasty. 2 4 10 cocktails were amazing too. Totally recommend the Hen House. Give it a try. Down to earth good service and great value.

Stayed in the king suite, brilliant sized room, accommodated our dog too. Pub was really busy on the Friday evening, they had a great band on, everyone friendly and music wasn't too obtrusive whilst up in the room. Lovely bar staff 😊

Mike and his team have got rid of the dross and made this the best pub in the Midlands.

Honestly a great pub with great staff, great food (always recommend having the chicken strips), and a great atmosphere.

Fantastic local pub - highly recommend the food and the weekly entertainment is fantastic! Regular visits most weeks - dog friendly too! Also they have three great letting rooms upstairs as well, clean and tidy - would recommend to anyone who’s local!

Had a Sunday roast here today, absolutely delicious, far better than the Toby carvery (oops did I say that out loud 🫢) bar staff were friendly and welcoming, atmosphere was lovely, will be coming again soon - thanks 😊

Great local pub, food has massively improved since the new menu delicious and handmade. Prices have gone up however given the current situation across the country this is to be expected most places. New management making a massive effort to push for new entertainment and quiz nights and finding out what the customers want . awesome pub highly recommend!!

Food was fantastic aswell as atmosphere, music, football & rugby and of course allowing dogs. Only grievance is, we stayed on a Saturday night and even though it states online it closes at 12am there was still loud music blasting till 1am. I believe one of the other customers staying in the hotel rooms that night had complained as i heard aomeone leave, the music turned down, they returned to there room and the music stayed on for 2 songs before being silent. When booking in the hotel here just be aware you will hear the tvs, music and people talking from downstairs. Great convenience for a weekend bender but if your passing through I would not recommend sleeping here.

Attended The hen house for work.. Really friendly staff and landlord... The whole place looks stunning after the refurbishment, I had a sandwich from here for my lunch which was very tasty and cooked perfectly. The hen house has letting rooms (photos) nice and clean throughout. This place has a huge sports and games room... No waiting for dart boards or pool tables (video) Really nice comfortable venue, well worth a visit.

Could do with updating their food service times. Read good reviews on here recently and saw on the website that they serve food until 8pm. Went in at 6.45pm on a Saturday night to be told no food available by someone we managed to flag down at the bar. We didn't bother to give it a chance for drinks and went to spoons instead.

Cracking Saturday night out. Live music, great atmosphere. Pool tables and darts board too. Menu looked good too but not much choice for veggies/vegans.

Our 1st visit to the Henhouse for our evening meal and it will be the last. The staff, very friendly and polite with a very friendly atmosphere. However, the meal ‘Mixed Grill’ was the worst ever. Steak like leather, two over cooked chicken wings, sausage over cooked. How can you call this a ‘Mixed Grill’ Overall not worth the money, far far better value for money at spoons.

Booked for meal no table reserved, table was dirty when given one ,no body at bar would take order gave up after a 20 minute wait .Will not be returning in the future.

We had a meal for 15 people for my husband’s birthday. We sent a pre-order for the food to make things easier. The food was delicious. The drinks were excellent value. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We will be returning in the future.

Had a family get together yesterday, 13 of us, food was fabulous, very well presented and all hot. Staff were efficient & friendly , they were attentive to our needs even though the pub was busy. Thank you very much for a great experience

Absolutely lovely the first time I have ever gone there even though i live in Hednesford area all my life i went with my sons partner and her mom for a meal Absolutely beautiful inside got a back room with pool tables next is the dining room which is lovely and comfy then the bar with a lovely real fire the food was great not too much and not too little beautiful hot speacialy with the weather at the moment i really enjoyed my time and they also had quiz night (we were hopeless) overall it was a lovely place and the staff were lovely checking we were ok but discreetly Thank you Hen House

Lovely spacious room for 1 person, warm welcome for myself and my 2 little dogs, didn't feel uncomfortable eating on my own in the restaurant great hosts and staff music went on a little late, but for dog owners would highly recommend

Went in for a quick drink but ended up staying most of the night as we entered a quiz night ( came last but still won a bottle of wine!) Friendly people and friendly host.

Visited on the 26th August with my wife and son. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Especially when it came to my son who is a rather picky eater. They made him a dish that wasn't on the menu. I had the steak and kidney pie, my wife the southern fried chicken platter both were lovely especially the chunky chips! If your out shopping or at a loose end it's worth popping in especially if your after an alternative to Wetherspoons.

We had an excellent pub lunch at the Hen House. Thee was a good choice of food at reasonable prices. Staff very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly too!

Great refurb and food was amazing.

Used to come here regularly every week before the change of hands, we visited last night and waited an hour for our food. My rib eye steak was really thin and oily, my partners meal wasn’t great either and the garlic bread I’d asked for as a side came out way before our actual meals…certainly not up to the expected quality we’re used to. Unfortunately it’s put us off coming back which is such a shame as we used to visit here a few times every week. The waitress at the bar was very pleasant and apologetic, she was very lovely indeed. Just a shame in regards to the food and having no updates on timings when it was obvious they were running late.

1st visit after the recent change of ownership and subsequent refurbishment. Friendly bar staff and a lovely steak sandwich for lunch. We will return to try a Saturday night drink and the Sunday roasts in the future.

We popped in for a meal on mother's day with a 10 year old. The food was good, and the staff friendly. However... the local drinkers (who were otherwise friendly enough) vocabulary rarely stretched beyond loudly spoken swear words. This would put us off coming again and obviously has done to others as the pub itself was relatively quiet on what should be a busy day for a pub. Shame really. It wouldn't have taken much for the staff to have a quiet word with the local drinkers. Also we weren't asked once how our meal was. Families avoid unless you enjoy bad language.

Stop serving food at 1830hrs but state evening meals. TV on full volume so difficult to have a conversation.

Good place to eat if you want to avoid Wetherspoons. Slightly more expensive but has a good atmosphere.

So disappointed today meal was lovely as usual but please how hard is it to serve 5 adults and 2 children at the same time .The second child’s meal came out when we had nearly finished our meal and when we went to ask at the bar where it was we could overhear the kitchen staff complaining about us for asking .🙄
