Second time here and they recognized me and remembered my order, highly recommend, intimate and friendly!

My friend and I popped into this pub hoping to get a drink. After walking to the back of the room we realised there was no available seats so we went to head out. On our way out, the bartender shouted out to us, saying that we were rude and should have more manners. Confused, we asked him what we had done to which he said something we couldn’t understand. He then proceeded to follow us outside, pointing at a sign that said “toilets for customers only”- to which I explained we had not used but that we had just been looking for a seat. He refused to listen and shooed me outside. It was a very unpleasant experience for us and we were embarrassed- not to say the pub isn’t nice, it seemed lovely, just that the bartender with the dark hair and beard was incredibly rude and unprofessional.

Popped in for a drink on a Fri evening. Had a guitarist belting out some tunes. Great service . Small place but nice atmosphere. Will be back .

Had a bad experience with the barman, so called manager. Called them out as a half pint of Guinness poured as half pint of Tennants. Only recognised when taken back to the table. Barmaid poured the Guinness then barman became aggressive and poured this Guinness down the sink..Be aware.

Great wee pub near the train station.

A little touristy Scottish pub. The waiter has a machine, live music and a good atmosphere. We only have drinks after dinner. I don't think you can eat there. Reasonable price

Does not serve food. The Doric Bar next door does. Friendly staff and customers. Live music at weekends.

Great pub with live music that created a great atmosphere

Decided to go here as opening hours online stated it was open. Went to enter the door around 11:50am. Staff member standing in entrance door smoking stopped us and abruptly said they weren't open until 12:15pm. No problem but update your details and be a bit nicer. Went somewhere else.

Only went in for one but stayed when the artist came on and left 3 hours later!

Best pub in town! Staff are friendly and quick service. Top top live acts and always a good crowd with good banter and nae agro. Absolute gem of a pub!

Absolutely lovely little pub with great music and staff and regular guests who make you feel so welcome from the get-go. Went 3 times and 2 of them resulted in brilliant conversations with wonderful people.

A few doors down from our hotel, we stopped in for a drink. Had one of the best times ever!!! Live Scottish music by KJBmusicmakers was so much fun. Everyone was so friendly. We sang, we drank and we met some really great people!!!

The Hebrides a good bar of beers and staff excellent. Sat at the window seat on a Wednesday and created a great party atmosphere. The barmaid even said we are never this busy on a Wednesday. Me and my mates make everyday a party.

Great bar staff, great folk and great music

We visited in May and this was such a great little pub i had to leave a review. Hebrides is a small pub with a great atmosphere! We had just arrived in Edinborough after traveling all day when we went looking for a place to relax and have a beer. Despite our accents giving us away as American tourists, we were warmly welcomed by the bartender and locals as well. After swapping bar tales and laughs, we were even treated to a round by the customers. We desperately wanted to go back for another visit but just ran out of time. If I'm ever fortunate enough to travel back to Edinborough, this place will be my first stop. Cheers!

Good pint of Guinness at The Hebrides last week. Lady serving behind the bar was very helpful & charged my phone.

We visited on Saturday. It’s quite a small place but it had a great atmosphere. They have a great selection of beers and the bar staff were really friendly too. There is often live music in the bar, this Saturday there was a fella singing and playing guitar which was great. We went back a few days later to see some local folk music too. Great place to stop near the train station.

Popped in a few times on my vacation in Edinburgh last month. Very welcoming and funny barstaff(Denise was a great laugh), and probably one of the few pubs that serve Strongbow Dark Fruits. I’m for sure coming back.

Owner is a thug who got into a bar fight and threw all the customers out and fired the bar maid. A lunatic!! Avoid

This wee diamond of a pub is a must visit. Live music at the weekend and great prices. But the crowning glory is all the staff, who are just delightful.

My favorite bartender in all of Edinburgh, Deian, said it pretty well when he said that any real bar has three beers: Belhaven, Tennants, and Guinness. And they have not one, but two kinds of Belhaven. Plus it’s a locals’ bar, so it lacks the pretension and superficiality of tourist traps. Stop in to enjoy a real Edinburgh brew and take in a little local flavor!

Best live music on Mondays. Lovely little place that makes you feel like home instantly.

Thanks to the very kind barman yesterday evening, if you read this you know who we are. We are safe, the bank had technical problems yesterday evening and today everything worked again. Very sorry again and thank you! We'll come back for that! The atmosphere was amazing also on Saturday, if in Edinburgh 100% right place to have a nice time.

Most places were closed on the Christmas Eve, so I found this wee place with live music at late night. It was a small cheerful pub with live music and I liked the fact that the spirits were served in 35 ml measurements instead of 25.

We recently visited Edinburgh from Australia and a huge standout was The Hebrides pub. It wasn’t just the cute and cozy vibe, it was the warm and friendly reception from the lovely bartender Dejan. Although we were half a world away from home, he made us feel so welcome and at home in that gorgeous quaint pub. We can not wait to return and meet our new favourite bartender Dejan.

The male dark haired bartender with glasses was extremely rude. I would not recommend this place to anyone, we were made so uncomfortable we had to leave. Me and a group of others all ordered a drink and started a game of cards, a few of our glasses were collected, then the bartender came over to collect the rest and told us the drinks we had left didn’t justify playing cards and that we were causing the death of hospitality. It was completely unacceptable, someone needs to talk to this bartender about the way they speak to paying customers, my friends and I would never return.

Very cozy little place with live music and super friendly bartender. Highly recommend!

Been going here for years, friendly cosy little bar, where the measure is still the old 1/4 Gill (35m) Don't miss Monday afternoon, local musicians bring their own instruments and have a jam session.

Proper old school pub with locals, lovely atmosphere and very welcoming (I'm english 🤣) enjoyed a couple of drinks but had to leave because of the train, could've spent the evening in here!

As tourists, our obviously not local accent got a bit of a cold shoulder in here when getting served which surprised me for city centre. The drinks were good and reasonably priced though. General atmosphere nice

Lovely local pub opposite the Waverley station and was a walking distance (less than a minute from my hotel). Greeted by Lacho - a lovely bartender, who welcomed me into his pub and made my visit in the pub entertaining with one of his locals talking to me as I was a solo traveller. Definitely worth the visit weather you’re waiting for your train or if you are catching up with friends with live entertainment

Hadn't been to this pub for a while and sadly due to incompetent behaviour from the manager I won't be rushing back until he is sacked firstly tried to overcharge us and then everytime we were served by the barmaid he took over when charging us ? Suspect behaviour and then after he rang the bell he served a local but when we asked for a drink at the same time he said they were closed ?

Peter was a wonderful bartender. I wish we could be here longer to enjoy his hospitality again!

Stumbled in here on a Monday afternoon to kill time. Hit the jackpot with what appeared to be an impromptu music session going on. Great pint of Guinness and reasonably priced too. Spirits served at 35ml. Brilliant vibe and a snug wee pub.

Got in very late for last orders, but were made very welcome. Will visit again on my next trip to Edinburgh.

I was with Heather unwin the same night as well absolutely disgusting, the two locals who were disgraceful, should be banned for life, they ruined our evening, you cannot allow this to carry on, you are treating your visitors with utter contempt. I ran a pub for a few years and these two idiots would have been out the door for ever. Surely you are not that desperate for custom that you allow this to carry on. This was the evening of Jan the 26th you know who these vile men were. I live in Dunoon, and I have never witnessed anything like it. Mrs Noreen Dixon.

Great traditional pub with local music on Mondays.

Such a shame about our visit. We called in a lunch time for a hot toddy. And was made very welcome But unfortunately we took friends back in in the evening, It was very noisy, with the locals shouting very loudly at each other. And a fight broke out. We were made to feel really uncomfortable. So had to leave. Felt so sorry for the barmen, He was getting a lot of abuse from the locals. Would definitely advise to stay well away

A bar just a few metres from Edinburgh Waverley Station in Market Street. Quite a traditional pub hosting regular folk music nights. A good pint of Innes and Gunn lager here. Visited on a Thursday afternoon. Un bar à quelques mètres de la gare d'Edimbourg Waverley dans Market Street. Un pub assez traditionnel qui organise régulièrement des soirées de musique folklorique. Une bonne pinte de Innes et Gunn lager ici. Visité un jeudi après-midi.
