The Head of Steam Didsbury in Manchester

Came in a couple days ago looking for a Sunday roast. Not only was service quick and helpful, despite the copious customers participating in the didsbury dozen, but the food was amazing. The portion was huge for the price and the meal itself was delicious. Also great veggie options.

For a really busy Sunday night before the bank holiday there was the usual fantastic service by all the staff. They never stopped and it never took too long to be served. (Must add they dealt really well and professional with a rude, entitled customer who wasn't happy she wasn't served within seconds due to the busy bar) . As always best selection of beers in Didsbury and food by Teo as good as ever .

Terrible pub. Never had service as bad. Waited 25 mins for a drink. Wasn’t served and there were people in front of me still waiting. Walked out. Will not be returning and would not recommend at all

We’ve just had a roast dinner at The Head of Steam and it’s a good as any I’ve had recently ….. all in all it was pretty decent, roasties were nice and crispy and the Yorkshire pudding was massive - I had the pork and the missus had the chicken. That along with a good beers - would definitely recommend

Came here on a Sunday to collect a mild magic sticker but ended up staying for more drinks and a Sunday roast !! The roast was delicious. I didn’t like the vegan wellington because of the cranberry sauce but that’s just a reflection of my palette rather than the food itself😂😂service absolutely wonderful- ended up buying 3 cans of gorgeous sours ! Selection is great in here. Genuinely my only fault is that the music could’ve been a bit louder as it feels quite quiet and echoey !! First time in didsbury- will absolutely be back

Great spot for a pint, really friendly staff and does a good Sunday roast! They also have a pool table and pub quiz both of which are great. Highly recommended if you’re in Didsbury and especially if you want somewhere not as caught up in didsbury dozen chaos!

Came with my mum for a Sunday roast, atmosphere was lovely and relaxing, food was delicious, great portion size. The staff are all very friendly and helpful too !

The Sunday roast was great and pretty reasonably priced. Micheal looked after us well, will be returning.

I asked for vegan mayo, I checked it was vegan before I ate it, the waiter said it was vegan and then they came back and said it wasn’t vegan. Completely didn’t care when I said I was upset and traumatised about eating non vegan food

Only recently started going, but bloody love the place. We booked a table as a larger group for the rugby, and we had a great time. Good drinks choices, and the food was delicious and well priced. It is quite popular so if you are coming as a larger group, would recommend booking in advance. Staff are great too, very friendly!

Upon arriving I was greeted by a lovely bartender who presented herself as “Minnie, like the mouse”, what a first impression. Minnie went out of her way throughout our visit to ensure we had the best service and time and we certainly did have the best time. We will definitely be back!

Great venue! Always a great atmosphere. Food and drink is outstanding and the staff are always pleasant and polite. Very welcoming. Special shout out to Stan the GM. Always makes me feel welcome and every visit exceptional.

We went to this pub for one drink and bought a Pint of Peroni and 2 Large glasses of wine. Having looked at my card statement they charged £26.50 for this when their website suggests the price should have been £20. Either the staff are inflating their tips or the company are charging more than their price list.

Superb place. Reasonably priced good quality food. And as always epic beer. The gaffer always gets the titanic reserve porters on for autumn and winter.

Came up from norwich to see my daughter, we popped in on the off change and it was amazing, food,atmosphere, staff, and a beautiful pub would definitely come again 😀

Great staff, great beer. But for the love of god please sort that front door out! It bangs so loud every time it closes! It’s so annoying!

Saturday afternoon, good beer but a bit pricey. Wide selection of draught. With city on the telly, it (as one of the few in the area that doesn't show football) and people doing the Didsbury dozen, it was very busy. Manager efficiently dealt with some troublemakers.

A great pub for a quick pint or a cheeky cocktail! Excellent service from wine-knowledgeable Sonny who really made our evening excellent last week!

Atmospheric and pleasant as always. The staff and music always provide the desired feeling of drifting away into a comfortable, fantastical, and blissful mood. Always a great place for a drink or two by yourself or with company.

Minnie was absolutely fantastic and really added to the quality of out evening. Drinks were really good with great selection of ales and food matched.

Went for the pub quiz. It's all done through an app and it worked ok, except it's not really a quiz. Great selection of beers. The place is cosy but also sort of modern but doesn't feel overcrowded. Comfortable chairs. Seems to attract a young crowd. Really friendly and efficient bar staff. Dog friendly. Pool table. Board games.

Had a great night at the Head of Steam, wide selection of beers 👍🍺 Quiz night was on which was a lot of fun! The Italian style small plates were very tasty!! Highly recommended

Stan and Eyo are amazing and make this the nicest place to go to in Didsbury. They’re so warm and friendly and make us feel welcome with our kids. They’re the sole reason a lot of us have made it our local!

Had a baby shower here and it was so amazing, the food was absolutely fantastic and tasty, very filling. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. A absolutely wonderful and great place to come, family and dog friendly. Definitely come again.

We went to the Wednesday pub quiz & had a brilliant time! The staff were simply fantastic. The bar staff served us promptly & let us know about deals, including 2-for-1 beers. They even gave us a receipt so we could go back to get our 2nd beer when we wanted it. Special shout out to Yasmin & her manager who were so attentive & went above and beyond to make sure we had somewhere to sit after we forgot to book a table. She really helped make our night. Pub quiz was so much fun!!

Recomendado por unos vecinos pasamos a comernos una hamburguesa, y estaba rica, aros de cebolla y patatas fritas. Como si me la hubiera echo en casa. Calidad de la carne muy buena, el pan de la Burguer podrían mejorarlo, pero me gusto el ambiente. El servicio algo desmotivado, al tener poca clientela a esa hora, muy temprano. Volveré a por otra hamburguesa, eso seguro.

Shouldn't be as good as it is,but the staff are lovely, particularly Ayo who always remembers people names, Stan the other fella who's been there a while is fun, and the new staff are always good, great range of drinks, and the sharing platers are good value.

Great place for beers, love the staff, always super friendly. Also a fun place to work during the day.

Have been coming here quite a lot recently, especially on Friday nights for the live music, can get a bit loud between 8-10 when the students are in but luckily the all seem to leave at the same time so it doesn't effect the experience too much. Fantastic selection of beers, on tap and in cans
