Tast Cuina Catalana in Manchester

From when we first arrived until we left, we had excellent service, the food was exceptional and the atmosphere was amazing. It was our wedding anniversary and the staff surprised us with two complimentary glasses of Cava. They were also very knowledgeable about which wine would go perfectly with the food we ordered. Perfect night ❤️

Very good. We visited one evening earlier this week, and made a small mistake - only ordering one main course after a few starters. Waiter was very accommodating and managed to bring the second main within minutes - even offered not to charge it. You don't see this level of kindness and service often! Food was exceptional, of course!

Calamari was average. Rest was really good.

Excellent food and great service. We had a wonderful evening celebrating my birthday. The calamari and the octopus dishes were sublime and the 2 different croquettes were delicious. Loved the cheesecake they kindly brought me out at the end of the meal. Ended up taking the churros we ordered home! Highly recommend.

I'm only giving 1 star as I can't choose 0 stars, complete rip off I went on a hospitality deal , if you ask for the vegetarian menu the original menu comes back with the meat dishes crossed out in biro, my main dish was a very thin layer ( as in 1 grain deep ) of what can only be described as pot noodle type savoury rice with 2 florets of broccoli and 2 florets of cauliflower plopped on the top , the Frankie Boyle vegetarian option sketch came to mind!

Ate here yesterday afternoon, blown away, will definitely be back. So authentic and tasty. Staff all lovely, a really good vibe.

Booked a table to have dinner with my Wife during a visit to the City. A nice atmosphere and vibe. The menu was noticeably smaller than some other Tapas places we've been, however I feel that this is a positive as the resulting dishes all seemed to have a better quality. The food all arrived with nicely timed intervals, and every dish was superb. Staff were lovely.

Pensé que estaba de vuelta en El Gato Negro por un segundo, pero estar de vuelta aquí en estas partes de la ciudad fue un placer. Espera gastar 250 libras por 2 que beben y se dan el gusto de ese filete de solomillo más grande que ofrecen. La sartén de arroz y gambas casi crujiente es un buen plato para compartir. Encantadora decoración, personal educado y llegamos justo antes de que las luces comiencen a atenuarse. Las patatas bravas y las croquetas dejaron un poco más que desear, pero estoy seguro de que algunas de sus otras tapas lo compensarán. En general, es un gran lugar para encontrarse.

Beautiful food. The tables are quite close together so be prepared to hear someone else’s conversation but the food made it well worth it!

Everything good , great Ribero del Duero wine, with the usual obscene UK mark up. Good ham pan Catalan, cod croquettes and their famous foie tras donuts. Only let down was the main course , the veg and potatoes beautiful but the bone in steak too a while to come and when it did, half of the steak was beautifully cooked medium rare as requested but the other end of the steak was either medium well or well done , including the best part , the bone, that was cremated. Had we not had a football match to go to, I’d have sent that dish back , which of course a good restaurant like this would I’m sure have accepted .

Nice, but you pay for King Street location. Service was great, food was quite nice, but £130 for a few starters, a prawn (sparse) paella to share, & a couple of drinks each.

1: cold boiled old new potatoes ? something fresher or peel the skin.off might improve the dish. 2: Scruffy toilets with wobbly taps. 3- Good service, 4; white wine is nicer cold, not room temperature.

Given who owns it, it was never going to be anything other than really good - and it is! Lots of tapas sharing plates, all terrific. And great service by a really knowledgeable waitress. Result! Slightly down on atmosphere because it was just pretty quiet.

We had a few tapas dishes and shared a steak and so glad we did. Best.Steak.Ever!! Very friendly and helpful service. Can’t wait to come back.

Awful service- near empty restaurant and staff too busy chatting and drinking coffee to attend to table. Rude manager who actively argued with us about charging for item which didn’t arrive until after we’d finished the rest of our food. Won’t be returning

Gran lugar para la comida catalana en Manchester. Llegamos un poco temprano para nuestra reserva, pero nos enviaron al bar mientras nuestra mesa estaba lista y tenían un bar completo con cócteles, cervezas y opciones de vino, sí, cócteles también. Luego nos llevaron a nuestra mesa donde realmente disfrutamos de nuestra cena. Los 3 de nosotros dividir 3 comenzamos y 2 platos principales. Todo estaba delicioso.

Visited on a few occasions with family and never disappoints. The menu is varied, staff engaging and ambience always spot on. I try new menu items each time and this lunchtime was no different.

En realidad llamamos para tomar una copa y reservar una mesa para la noche, pero nos dieron la bienvenida por Sam que decidimos quedarnos y almorzar. El Cava fue el aperitivo perfecto para lo que estaba por venir. Seis platos de Tapas todos cocinados a la perfección junto con un muy buen vino Verdejo, y para terminar la Tarta Santiago y Crema Catalana perfecta. El servicio fue excelente de Elena, y todo el personal. Las mejores tapas que hemos tomado fuera de Cataluna, y volveremos seguro.

No le gusta escribir tal opinión, pero la dirección debe saber Fui allí a tomar unas bebidas y cenar en mi cumpleaños no es lo que esperaba, la comida era buena pero el servicio 0 Pedí el servidor principal me pidió que tomaría 20 minutos así que pedí un plato pequeño. Buenas ventas Pedí una pinta para comenzar que se sirvió rápidamente, pero el vino que pedí nunca llegó. Más importante mencioné específicamente el servidor siendo la placa pequeña primero como red tomará 20 minutos Pero el plato principal fue servido primero, la señora que lo sirvió fue sensata tomó la comida de vuelta, pero su superior regresó un minuto tarde arrojado ambos en la mesa y literalmente se fue. Después de 10 minutos pido la queja de la factura de nuevo al mismo servidor que dije sobre toda la experiencia que el vino todavía falta. Lo siento era lo único que podía oír. Las normas de servicio eran equivalentes a las cucharas de Lo único bueno es la comida. Tuve la suerte de experimentar esto solo sin avergonzarme con amigos, familiares o colegas. Exceptional, the truth is that finding food and places in Manchester with quality, attention and for a price lower than that of a 40-year mortgage has become practically an odyssey, however this place more than delivers, we especially recommend the rice! And as for the starters, the croquettes are great and some magnificent fritters, the forgivel is super attentive and it is a small and cozy place where you can also talk without having to raise your voice; If you miss vermouth.... They have it! Ask for it! They also have a very complete wine list where you will undoubtedly find what you want in harmony with the chosen food. As I said, be sure to try the rice and in general the starters as a tapas beforehand.

I recently visited 23/1 and wow what lovely caring staff you have. Myself and my 74 year old mother got caught in the rain last week outside your restaurant. I asked if we would be able to just have a coffee to which I did think we would be turned away but no we were made so welcome. My mum was in her element being a Man City fan and asked the young lad so many questions about PEP and his restaurant, showing her round and being so kind. He made my Mother’s day. I wish I had the young lads name as he is an absolute credit to your establishment. The coffee was delicious. Thank you so much for being kind.

Not the best spanish restaurant in the city. The food at Tast Català is decent, but extremely overpriced for what it is. The lack of proper heating made the atmosphere uncomfortably cold, likely an attempt to save money, which gives the impression that the restaurant is struggling financially. Overall, the experience doesn’t justify the cost. For much better value, I’d recommend others, where the food is equally good—if not better—and priced at half of what Tast Català charges. It’s a far more enjoyable and authentic experience to go to Can Petit for example.

Second time to this marvellous place. The food and wine is just insanely good. This is the best tapas place in Manchester, maybe England, maybe earth. I love it❤️

4.0 stars. Server was super friendly and answered many of our questions. Food was more a 3.5 stars. We ordered 6 small dishes and a main. With two glasses of wine, our bill came to be £140. Most of the portions were on the small size and understandably so as they were tapas. The croquets, charcuterie board, and bruschetta were the best ones we felt. The squid and duck egg had nice flavors but was chintzy with the portion size. Clean dining area and restrooms too.

Been looking forward to visiting and decided to go on my birthday. It was Christmas Eve and it was quite quiet so there wasn’t much of an atmosphere. But the upside was that we were served quickly and our food arrived fast as well. Unfortunately , the tapas wasn’t entirely to our liking - the anchovies were overly seasoned and small compared to others we’ve had in Spanish restaurants (but at a higher cost here), the Spanish omelette was ok but a little bland. The tomato bread and patron peppers were good. The rice dish but nice, but didn’t blow us away. So overall, it didn’t live up to our expectations - but it could just have been timing.

We have ever only been here for drinks but with it being New Year, we booked a table for a meal and we weren't disappointed. We tried quite a few dishes and they were absolutely gorgeous, you have to try the cod with the honey and lemon foam 😍 and dessert was xuixo omg every bite was delicious and so light I could of eaten another, can highly recommend it. We're definitely going to be coming back, Happy New Year guys and thank you for tonight 🎉

Unfortunately this place really lacks alot in terms of value for money, service and general love. Its highly overpriced, no value for money and erratic service. I was served by 5 different waiters- was told initially I could only have a table downstairs for 30 mins- unless I sat upstairs. Food was really average- the duck donut foi groi just really pretentious and out of place. Dont bother.

As regulars of various restaurants on King Street, we noticed the lunchtime special at Tast and decided to give it a try. We entered the restaurant and politely asked for a table. The lady at the counter inquired with her manager, who informed us that they were full. However, a lady who was seated at a table nearby informed us that she was leaving and that we could have her table. The waitress checked her bookings on the screen and confirmed that the table was indeed free. When the manager came over to us, he rudely refused our request, stating that we were full. I explained that the waitress had just confirmed the table was free, but he simply looked at us and said no with an attitude. We were extremely surprised by his attitude, we are regular reviewers in the top 1% of reviewers with hundreds of positive reviews. All of our reviews are fair, but on this occasion, I felt compelled to point out the unprofessional behavior of the manager.

Had an amazing night at Tast for the Dan Garcia evening. The food was excellent but our highlight was the sommelier whose knowledge of the wines was extensive but his friendly demeanour made it a wonderful experience. We can’t wait to go back

Wir waren mit einem Hospitality Package über Manchester City für ein drei Gänge Menü im Tast. Wir hatten uns irgendwie etwas gutes erhofft, dem Anspruch entsprechend, den Pep Gardiola an ein solches Restaurant haben sollte. Aber da haben wir uns geirrt. Das Essen war sehr wenig und dann noch nicht mal gut. Das Fleisch war irgendwie zäh und die Nachspeise war auch eine Katastrophe. Ich hoffe einfach mal das der normale Restaurantbetrieb besseres bietet.

I was welcomed from the start , I was dressed smart but casual with trainers. The waiter was very polite and he looked very smart. I had two pints of estrella and they where served with nuts. I was very happy with my service. I will definitely come back again.

We were sat in the window which was fabulous to people watch. The waiter took our drinks order and within a couple of minutes we were drinking them. He was very friendly not too much just right. Took our food order and gave us some information about the food we ordered. The food came and it was so delicious . One of the dishes ( tortilla) was so delicious I ordered it again. Every dish was cooked to perfection. The service was vey good but not enough people on the floor especially as the tables outside were busy. All in all it was a beautiful experience. The waiter excelled himself. I loved the place so much I am going to recommend it to all my friends. I will be back in a month or so. Highly recommend this restaurant. So thank you everybody for delicious food, a nice atmosphere and friendly staff

First visit here, we cametocelebrateourweddinganniversary. . From the moment we walked in, it was very welcoming, relaxed and a lovely atmosphere. Our waiter was amazing, very knowledgeable about both the food and wine and helped with our choices. Everything was delicious and different from anything we've had before in Spanish restaurants. Highly recommended this place.

Great evening and fabulous food. So why the 4 stars on food.......only the rice/paella lacked a crispy bottom, Socarrat, but the dish was nonetheless fantastic.

The best Tapas ever. Admittedly went as it was Peps restaurant so fairly expectations it was going to be good but it was unbelievably good. Had lots of different items and each was special. Service was lovely, informative with a gentle tone. Ambience was great so we could all talk effortlessly. I genuinely could not speak when having the dessert, what was described as like creme brulee but better as it was staggeringly good. Amazing experience. Perfect.

This week, taking advantage of my family's visit to Catalonia, we couldn't miss the opportunity to stop by here. It has been a very pleasant experience, with spectacular service and delicious food! Wow - what a place. We had the tast experience, which was amazing. The staff and service were brilliant and the atmosphere was amazing. everyone was so friendly and happy to offer advice and comment on the meal and the accompanying wines. The meal was truly special, and the actual food divine, some amazing different twists on proper Catalan food. Will definitely be back - and now we know the standard and quality of food on offer, will go for the a la carte menu. That beef was amazing!
