Nice food. We both had Haddock and it was very good. Quiet atmosphere. Beach was so close for a walk.

Absolutely superb,lovely restaurant,superb food,excellent service,reasonably priced,an absolute gem. Very highly recommended.

The Hawthorn Restaurant is one of these places that should be definitely be on your list for a meal out. Its absolutely first class in every way. You will be made very welcome the moment you step through the front door, and you will leave with a big smile on your face. Its excellent value for the money, and the food is top notch. What a real find while on holiday. Food is absolutely too die for. Hosts are great, and set in a beautiful tranquil setting. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a little gem so glad we found it. The best meal out in a while. The food was excellent. The veg was perfectly al dente the whole dish was roasting hot and beautifully presented. The service was great couldn't ask for better. The dining room was just what we needed. All in all a really good atmosphere and delicious food. Thank you x

This was a last minute booking because we were running late. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and the food was fresh and piping hot we had chille and it had a lovely heat just after eating it nothing to strong. We had apple crumble for dessert this was made fresh as the dishes were super hot but also amazing tasting will be beck next time am up this way.

Booked a table for a family of six. Place looked nice, owner seemed very friendly, we thought we’d give it a try. The menu looked good, service was quick, but unfortunately we were underwhelmed with the food. It was tasty enough and fresh etc, but the price point didn’t match the food served, basically no garnish or salad on the plate, pretty basic! It was restaurant prices for cafeteria quality food. Shame as it could be better.

Nice wee restaurant and whilst the decor, fixtures and fittings are nothing fancy (& perhaps would benefit from a wee refurb) - the food more than made up for it. Both of us had the steak pie. Good, honest, home cooked meat that was so soft and tender, light and crispy puff pastry, plenty veg and crisp chips. We both enjoyed our meal and we felt it was good value given the portion sizes. Will absolutely return if we’re back in the area. My only feedback would be to perhaps warm the plates first as I did feel my food cooled very quickly as the plate was cold.

Got to our campsite to realise our stove wasn’t working, nothing else open for food for 20 minutes, we couldn’t sit in as had the dogs(may be dog friendly didn’t ask, our dogs are loud) asked if they would do a take away and in no time at all our meal was ready. Food was like being at your aunts house who isn’t that handy on the pots and pans but is a feeder. Enjoyed thoroughly, if back would love to see some hand cut chips rather than frozen.

Two friends and I had dinner last night This was my first time but one friend has been several times and recommended the homemade steak pie I was not disappointed Would go as far as saying best ever Large chunks of melt in your mouth steak a delicious gravy lovely light pastry top and chips Large portion and I got a doggy bag for Nevis.Friends had delicious apple crumble I had icecream I was pleased to learn that carryouts were available as unfortunately dogs are not allowed inside but can eat outside if the weather is suitable Will definitely be back

I absolutely love the restaurant. A visit to Benderloch is not complete without a visit to Hawthorn Restaurant. Food is outstanding, home cooke, sorry, no pictures, never quick enough! Favourite is the black pudding bon bons when on special. Hosts are friendly and always have time for a chat. Family tradition, last night stay dinner is always at the Hawthorn.

I live locally and have not been to the Hawthorn for a number of years but went tonight with family and had a fantastic meal and outstanding service, it was an absolute pleasure to visit and eat there highly recommended.

I went to the restaurant with a family of six adults and everyone agreed this was an exceptional experience. The food could not be faulted and the hostess was brilliant at making everyone feel at home. The angel fish was to die for and the apple crumble was delicious. We will be back on our next trip to Tralee Bay.

So good we went twice in our weeks stay in Oban. Not the largest menu but some interesting dishes along with some classics. Really friendly and un-rushed. Tenderest gammon I have evere eaten. The quality of the food is to die for. You will not be disappointed.

Popped into this wee place as recommended by our hostess and it’s was top notch welcomed by the lovely staff ( got to say that because she 6’2 ) ha ha just joking we got treated well and spoiled for choice. The food was all home made and excellent portions starter was spicy chicken wings then struggled with main course chicken haggis mash stack with peppercorns sauce was Amazing then had to top it off with Arran ice cream my colleague had the special fish cake , steak pie finished of with fudge cake n ice cream food was superb as was service and good banter

Very very warm place with lovely service. These are typical dishes prepared with love and I even ordered a whiskey which was offered to me because I finished the bottle but there wasn't enough in the glass! I recommend for everyone! Book in advance!

If you want good honest food then this is the place! Great friendly staff, I had the steak pie with mash & veg & hubby got the gammon & fries. Desserts were great too. Couldn't fault it. If we lived in the area this would definitely be our local.

From the arrival you feel like a special. Restaurant has really good design it's like a brand new but have a character. Restaurant manager are super welcoming and professional person, Sommelier are so professional and taking extra care for everyone. You can see that they have most professional staff in the building. Food - it's a next level all compliments going to the chef! Food just melted in the mouth it was like a food symphony. We had a lovely dinner. Service and food was great. We were staying at the 5* Isle Of Eriska resort .... but the food was better at the Hawthorn.

Went last night with my husband, my brother, and sister in law. The food was amazing (I had some of the best Mac n cheese I've ever had in my life), and the woman who worked there was incredibly nice. If I come back to Scotland, I'll be back again because the food was that good.

Amazing food and service! The Hawthorn Chicken dish was packed with flavor and topped with delicious Whiskey sauce. My wife got the homemade Mac and cheese which I tried and we both put it up with the top Mac and Cheeses we've ever had! Beautiful scenery and the couple running the place couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating! Would revisit 100%

Starsters were delicious, followed advice from others and ordered cheese mushrooms, as well as soup of the day (potato and leek). Macaroni was of ample portion. Requested a change from chips to salad on the scampi and this was happily done by the staff. Homemade food.

Food was edible but was more like a school dinner meal. Expensive price for what it was aswell. Chips were oven chips and everything felt like it was a microwave meal. Feels more like a social club with drab decore. Wouldn't go back again.
