Fantastic pizzas with a great choice of different toppings. I had avocado, mushroom and goats cheese. Friendly landlord and good beer what more can you ask for! Sat in the garden as such a lovely evening, which made a change this summer! Would recommend and we will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

Visited whilst holidaying on the canal. Due to the canal side pubs not serving food, we walked the short distance to The Harvester and it was definitely worth it. As in previous reviews, first impressions was it was very quirky, but we were immediately welcomed by the family who run it, who could not have been more friendly. A good selection of gins and beers were available, so all happy. We had the pizzas from the woodfire oven and they were absolutely delicious. Great food and staff made our visit most enjoyable.

Stayed in the village for a couple of days and were advised to try the wood-fired pizzas in the beer garden. They were bloody delicious! Great range of beers on offer, and evidently plenty locals eating and drinking there. We returned the following evening for dinner, and received a warm welcome from both hosts and locals alike. The veggie burgers were a revelation! The place is endearingly quirky, and has a real family-run feel. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the village.

we were moored up at Long Itchington. The men went for a drink here on the Saturday night but on our way back to Warwick we moored up on the Thursday night especially to come here. The owners are lovely with a great sense of humour. The three of us had the steak and chips (charcoaled!!! joking!) cooked just how the chef likes it - medium rare (another joke) but yes that is how we had it and it was beautiful. Love the quirky back yard, very welcoming and there is a pizza oven out back. the locals are very lucky to have a great pub / restaurant like this.

We thought we would try the Harvester as part of the "eat out to help out" scheme. The place was a bit shabby and had a musty smell. The food was OK but it felt like we were getting what we paid for, rather than the up to £10 per person reduction.

After a 40 minute walk along the towpath from our moored narrowboat we found The Harvester was available for food on a Monday evening (not many others in LI)! Greeted very warmly and, even after it was 8, was informed that of course food was available. Made two very quick choices of fish n chips and scampi n chips. The inside of The Harvester was quirky to say the least but warm and comfortable. The food was good although it did seem to have come from a deep freeze rather than fresh. The pub was on the eat out to help out scheme and we definitely got what we paid for. Staff very friendly and helped us out with a quicker route back to the boat.

The meals served in the restaurant are second to none. For mother's day I enjoyed shoulder of lamb, falling off the bone, and my mum had a delicious sea bass. Portions are copious and cooked to perfection. They also do good bar food and pizzas made to order. Staff are always friendly, children and dogs are very welcome. The toilets are being done up at present. It's a great, down to earth, village pub serving exceptional food. Special dietary requirements are not a problem.

Visiting from Cornwall for a family birthday. Eight of us arrived to a lovely warm welcome. A great choice of Beers/Ciders at the bar along with various 'specials board' wines. Jars of local made pickles are a must- check out the labels for a giggle. Seated in the dining area, we all chose steaks as they are almost a thing of legend in the village. Served with veg and various spuds, I could've quite easily eaten my T-bone with a spoon. Quite simply the best steak I've had. We followed up with various delicious puds. Everyone waddled home "Fat Full". All in all the Harvester made way for a fabulous birthday, but my advice is don't wait for a special occasion, get down there, get yourself a real piece of 'me time' on a plate ASAP.

Please could we have some umbrellas? The pizzas were very, very good and I very seldom have pizza because I am not a lover of.....but this was good. Ignore the soulless & poor service at the Buck & Bell or the really dire Duck on the Pond and the rip-off Cuttle nearby (the Two Boats is ok by the way, but not supporting the annual beer fest is a major negative in my mind ) just go to the one the locals trust

We came across this pub over 10 years ago and had been impressed then by the excellent food and beers on offer as well as the friendliness of the staff. We returned recently to eat there on two ocassions and were delighted to find that things hadn't changed. This is a traditional village pub where people go to enjoy well kept beers and friendly chat. It is as far away from a chain 'sling'n'ping' pub as you can get. Food is freshly cooked using good produce and Simon and his team are only too happy to accommodate requests for slight variations to the menu. If you want plastic food with plastic beer and no character, this isn't the pub for you, but if you are after good food and drink at reasonable prices in a convivial atmosphere then it is highly recommended.

It is hard to rate this Pub/Restaurant as some aspects were excellent and others fell completely flat. Looking at other reviews I wouldn't say it was tatty at all but very cold inside and they turned off the heating after a while. There were 2 other groups of diners bar ourselves one turned out to be the owners. The hand pumped beer was excellent and the bar and waiting staff and even the owner or owner's wife were very polite. There was a pleasant group of drinkers around the bar which had tables with old fashioned lanterns on and the bigger restaurant was very inviting. It appeared to me to have remains of a huge ingle nook which has been removed and they store things in it which detracts a bit from the rest of the surroundings. We had steaks which were superb with home made sauces. I could taste the wine in mine and I have not had a steak like that for years and ample portions for the price. The vegetables comprised of fluffy light chips and also potatoes in their skins, multi coloured carrots in their skins too and one sole spoonful of peas which looked daft in a large serving dish. A large basket of warm bread and a pile of anchor butter portions completed the table. They also had horseradish and mustard on every table in screw top pots which I didn't fancy dipping in as everybody must do that. (Not that I needed any.) Our puddings were a disaster. Stale cheesecake is not acceptable, the waiter did apologise but no recompense was made or offered. The top was rubbery and tasted like Haribo sweets when it was supposed to be winter fruits. We ordered expressos which came as the weakest watery coffee I have ever seen served in tea glasses with crystalised brown sugar on a stick which wouldn't melt in the tepid liquid. There was no continuity between the services and I had to get up (which personally I prefer) to order the drinks the water and I went in to the kitchen to order the coffee. They had no still bottled water either, personally I don't mind but my partner does. I should have said something about the desserts and coffee when I paid but we were desperate to go home as we were so cold and were sitting with our coats on - so apologes to them for that. The Harvester (which is not part of the Harvester chain) for it's part is pristinely clean as are the loos but my god are they cold. It is located in a beautiful village setting with a church 5 other pubs, canal and duckpond. They also have a garden outside with heaters, maybe we should have sat out there!

Recommended by friends, we found ourselves pretty much alone as a foursome, in an empty dining room, with a few bar patrons outside. Not usually a great recommendation! But the meal was superb. All four of us had different meals, steak, fish and two sorts of chicken, and all were substantial, beautifully cooked and well presented, all done in a very personal and hands-on way. This is the second time I have visited the harvester and its the second exquisite steak I've had, probably 2 of the best cooked and lean steaks I've in fact tasted. You need to visit with an open mind as its not the smartest of venues but there is some quirky stuff that makes it a nice visit.Firstly the wine list, well what wine list, its all on the wall and a vast variety that have all been chosen from the owners by the looks of it, so we treated ourselves to a Australian Riesling which was very good however, they didn’t have a cooled bottle so we had to wait for it to cool in an ice bucket which was a little poor and slightly unorganised/lazy on their behalf. On a positive we asked what the wine was like prior to ordering it and the owner said try it and if you don’t like it you can leave it for them to drink, made us chuckle.I had the chasseur sirloin which was gorgeous and filled the plate, the only very slight criticism was the sauce was on the thin side but minor, my girlfriend has the fillet which looked mouth-watering as obviously tasted that way as none was shared. They came with a selection of potatoes and veg which was ample.Overall its clear that the people that run the place really care about the food even if it is a little bit dated we both walked away with a smile on our faces; due to the quality and quantity it’s well worth the money and all the wines are good value knowing that not huge amounts are order (the cases where on the floor). Will definitely return to the Harvest again when a good steak intake is required.

The pub is your usual village pub, with lots of locals and their dogs. There is a separate dining room, but we chose to eat in the lounge area. My partner had the fillet steak au poivre and I had the fillet steak Rossini. Both were absolutely fantastic, cooked to perfection and served with nicely cooked vegetables and chunky chips. The prices don't break the bank either, and there is a cheaper bar menu with a good selection of alternative meals. Allows dogs in the bar which is brilliant for us. First though a bit scruffy but then very friendly, Very well priced (cheap!) food, well cooked. Seperate restaurant area - we didnt go in there but it looked like an old fashioned country pub. Very good if you like an unpretentious atmosphere and great basic food - my husband said his steak was excellent.

Called in here for a bite to eat one lunchtime. Good little well priced menu with your average pub grub.. A more traditional looking old school pub offering great value and service.

This is my favorite place to eat around here. Rick and Barbera are both very welcoming and their son (chef) is great too, many of the family muck in to help waitressing etc and its a really old fashioned family affair. Good wine selection by the look of it, although I usually drink cider. Its also Camra pub so has a good selection of beers, constantly changing. Its pretty dated inside verging on dingy but the atmosphere and the steaks are more than enough to make up for it. They are the best I have had anywhere! Rick will never tell me where he buys them from! Always cooked to perfection blue to well done not a problem. Served with onion rings, new potates, chips, a couple of veg choices and a small side salad. Fresh bread as an appetiser too. Rick also has a selection of excellent mustards. I didn't eat mustard until I went to this pub, but they are all so different and are fab with the meat.I can't rate it highly enough, its a place I would also happily pop into on my own or with the dogs after a walk (bar only) and feel very relaxed.

When we arrived,7-30 on a tuesday evening,we were the only people in the pubWe were greeted politely and i was served swiftly with a pint of bitter,my wife asked for a glass of wine and asked what was available, she was shown a bottle of merlot and was told that it was a good choice. It was.We were shown the ala carte menu and told that a bar snacks menu was also available for lighter choices. The menu was full of classics from the seventies, steak rossini, steak au poivre etc.We both fancied a steak luckily and both chose fillet au poivre £16:50 ea they were served with new potatoes and chips, flat beans with bacon and peas. The sauce was old school with just the right amount of fire but those steaks,oh those steaks. Absolutly superb, hand cut and dry aged, superb.I would recommend getting past the seventies paraphernalia and getting down to long itchington just for them!Ps the beer, hooky, was well kept too.

The Harvester is a pub in in Long Itchington, I went with friends and was really surprised at the excellent quality of food. My friends had lemon sole, which they raved about. It was fresh, and not over cooked and it came with tender stem broccoli, chantenay carrots and potatoes. I had a steak, which was lovely and perfectly cooked. It came with nicely done chips, onion rings and a salad. The menu is a touch 1970s in choice and presentation but what they do is done well, there is a great beer and wine selection that is reasonably priced. The restaurant has atmosphere and you do not feel packed in, the customer service is very good but not over the top. The owner genuinely seemed disappointed when I could not finish my steak (owing to the size) and was concerned that I had not enjoyed it. This is rare, in many places plates are cleared without a question.I went again with my husband a week later as enjoyed it so much. It is well priced rather than cheap, however the portion sizes are very generous.
