The Harvester in Rhondda Cynon Taf

Liz was our waitress, and very friendly and helpful. We had a range of breakfasts between us, and we all enjoyed it very much.

Jody was an excellent waitress and nothing was too much trouble for myself or guests on other tables. My first visit here and I'd definitely visit again. Food was good value for money, had the wing and wave. Steak was cooked as ordered and rotisserie chicken was tender and moist as usual. Salad bar was well stocked. Would visit again

Absolutely blown away the service we received the lady name was liz she went out of the way to make sure my food was cooked the way I like it and genuinely a lovely lady I will be back as her customer service is outstanding

I had the pleasure of being served by Liz today, and I can’t say enough great things about her! From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with a warm and friendly smile, making us feel right at home. Liz was incredibly professional throughout our entire meal, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring our needs were met without ever being intrusive. Her attentiveness and positive attitude truly made the experience memorable. The restaurant itself was spotless, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen takes great pride in preparing each meal. Liz’s impeccable service, combined with the clean and inviting environment and tasty food, made this dining experience top-notch. Highly recommend her and this restaurant!

Greeting was with a grumpy face attitude, had to ask for plates for bread , salade was discoloured, staff just standing around . The only good thing was the young waitress, smiles and checking on us .

Visited the old mill to celebrate our grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Whilst the food was good, what stood out was the service. Right from the start they were incredibly accommodating. In particular, our waiter Lewis was outstanding. He went above and beyond to give us a lovely evening, anticipating our needs before we asked and lots of thoughtful gestures. Great work, we'll be back!

We have just returned from a lovely breakfast at the old mill. We booked the breakfast with santa and it was fantastic. The santa was amazing and absolutely fab with the kids! The elf/waitress who served us, I think her name was Jodie was great! She was full of enthusiasm and my kids loved her! Nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious. We come every year and I had to leave a review as this was the best one yet!

Visited today for a lunch..ordered 2 rib eye steaks only to be told later when we had our drinks and salad they only had 1 left..I had the sirloin, which was cooked lovely but full of sinue, so left most of it as I couldn't cut through it. As for the salad bar, the lettuce was brown and some if the boxes were empty so had to ask for coleslaw , onions, potato salad and onion topping. There were no plates for bread and no butter left, so had to ask again. The restaurant wasn't busy at all so they should be checking the boxes and dishes regularly to see if they need refilling. Very disappointed with the quality of the food again so will be giving Harvester a miss for a while.

We went for our sons birthday meal and served by Liz and Jodie they were amazing the food was superb both Liz and Jodie were very professional how they went about their jobs

It is impossible to rate as when I arrived at 8:02pm on Tuesday 6th August 2024 I was told the restaurant had closed 2minutes earlier due to “staff shortages” I was a solo female business traveller staying at the Travel Lodge hotel immediately behind the restaurant. I explained this but was told that the restaurant had closed. There were several tables of guests still eating both inside and outside the restaurant. I explained that I just wanted a main meal, but was refused. I was not even offered the option of having a drink. The only advice I was given was that the nearest restaurant was Table Table at Pantruthyn Farm - where I drove to and had an excellent meal. Therefore I will most definitely not be revisiting the Harvester, but I will return to Table Table.

We enjoy coming here and had a good night once again. (7:30pm on 4th August - Sunday evening) The food was very good but there were a few things that disappointed me on this occasion that need mentioning; in the hope that such things can be improved upon. A number of foods were not available and we should have been informed of this before taking our place at the table or even after sitting down at the table but not when we were in the actual process of ordering, which is what happened. Pepsi Max as well as other soft drink choices were not available. Neither were there any Jacket Potatoes or the Full MAX Ribs. The Rocky Horror desserts had no whipped cream on them as again, they had run out. One thing that I did find unacceptable is that my wife and I ordered food that included hot honey sauce. It was only when I asked the waitress, who then asked the chef, why it was sweet chilli sauce and not hot honey that we had been served, that I heard the chef tell her that they had none left. The waitress then asked if if that was why we had been served the chilli sauce instead! Did they think we wouldn't notice? It felt a bit deceitful and the waitress didn't apologise either, which I felt was a bit amiss. My sauce came in a separate pot but my wife's meal had the sweet chilli sauce on the ribs itself. What if she didn't like sweet chilli sauce? The meal would have been ruined. We were served by Liz and she was efficient and decent enough but a little lacking in the personal touch. It was probably at the end of a long, what had obviously been a busy and tiring day and so I understand but small touches go a long way. A smile, a please and thank you and also an acknowledgement of when the customer says please and thank you. It's important to remember, especially when people are paying a lot of money - that your routine day in work is someone else's special day out (in this case the Grandsons birthday)

We come here often, and always have a wonderful meal. We attended today Sun 4th Aug, and Liz served us, and as always we were greeted with a friendly smile and wonderful customer service. Liz is our favourite server, and always looks after us. 5 Stars Service... Thank you 😊

We love going to Harvester Restaurants but I can honestly say this is the worst one we have ever been to. The salad bar consisted of coleslaw lettuce and a few pieces of pasta - there were no rolls and I had to ask numerous times for some . When it came to take our main meal order we were told they had no burgers or chicken skewers left and it was 530 in the evening. It was clear the restaurant was insufficiently staffed and couldn't manage. It was a very disappointing experience for a very large chain. We will not be returning

This is the worst harvester I have ever been to. There was no one to greet customers on the front desk, the salad bar was disgusting, a few lettuce leaves, tomatoes and little else, some customers stood for 20 minutes waiting for more salad, even when it came there wasn’t anything worth waiting for, everyone was complaining, no rolls no butter, children were running riot, the manager totally ignoring them, everybody I spoke to was disgusted and would never go back, the only saving grace was the young lads waiting on the tables who were brilliant and working so hard, I gave a tip because I felt sorry for the amount of work they had to do!!! Shame on you harvester!!!!
